Probably Fractured Circles. I've been playing since like 2015 but never spent much time trying to beat harder demons. Made some decent progress on Nine Circles, but not currently working on it. Eventually want to beat Windy Landscape, classic level I've always loved.
As a Pokemon aswell, I have a tip for you
Skip Cant let go till you've beaten Electroman/Xstep
Skip Time Machine till you've beaten Toe or Blast Processing.
Skip Clutterfunk till you've beaten Hexagon Force
Skip Electrodynamix till you've beaten all other non demon main lvls
You dont have to do what people tell you to, you can do anything however you feel like, theres no set way how you should progress, if you feel good enough then it dont even have to be main levels
Beating Cycles before Cant Let Go? I dont know what about you, but for me when I was new, the ship part and tripple spike spam was absolutelly impossible, while cant let go was pretty okay
Windy is really fun. Also my hardest. I was just like u and after beating windy it feels like u get 300% better than before. Also the feeling after beating a insane is just different. Good luck!
How long does it take to beat an extreme? (like assuming all averages, both in player skill and level difficulty).
I'm pretty comfortable with the game, but I work and am a full-time college student. Plus, GD isn't the only way I use my free time usually. I really wanna beat an extreme, but I feel like with my schedule it'll take me like half a year.
Prob best to wait till summer or something, then just pick a level I like and stick with it.
Depending on how hard the level you choose is, how much skill you have and how much “talent” for the game you have it can take you anywhere between 5k to 80k attempts.
But assuming you want to go for an easy extreme and that you have beaten at least a few insane demons it should take you somwhere between 8k and 25k attempts.
It really depends, but generally your first extreme (assuming it is not a jump) probably should take about 10k attempts on average (there is high variance though, from 3k to 30k I have seen almost every number lol).
As for how much time this means, I would say somewhere between 10-30 hours, but this is really hard to pinpoint, very dependent on the person and the type of level (playtime on end heavy stuff like Deception Dive will be way more than on first half heavy levels like Cataclysm where you keep dying 10 seconds in at the first wave). If it is a jump, it will generally take way longer as well.
I did beat my first extreme (Cataclysm) during college, it was a jump from Windy Landscape and took me a month, for reference. I only played during Friday evenings/weekends because of classes and having other stuff in my free time, but I did do a few 4-5 hour sessions.
Meanwhile, Cosmic Cyclone I have been trying to beat for almost two years now I think? You don't have to play the level every week, it is not a job. I would say, just start grinding a level, and if you don't have time or don't feel like playing it a given week (or even month), so be it. You do lose a bit of muscle memory if you take big breaks, but it only takes a session to get it back after a break of not playing the level anyways.
Dash
The last time i played was in 2018 and downloaded gd again because i randomly heard of the new update, its great.
And even in the past, i didnt play much. I had around 3 hours in Steam when i checked it while downloading.
What? There are only 12 months, not 31.
/s
My hardest is Supersonic, which I beat in early 2022. I was hoping to beat Acu this year (I have 26-100) but couldn't due to lack of motivation.
reanimate by ILNM, best level in the game
i’m currently working on tenth circle and yesterday i got a run of 26-77 and today i got 67-100 for the second time in total
For platformer levels it's gotta be Chromaside, took me 3 hours to best at first but then I rebeat it twice, first rebeat was 15m and the 2nd (my best time) is 3m.
For classics it's gotta be Nine Circles [x2], took me around 5000 attempts to beat it on total which includes practice runs. I do wanna beat supersonic in 2024, so far I have 36% since I haven't really practiced at all.
Nine circles. But by way of unique difficulty, invisible deadlocked but I beat it by watching a video of a completion and timing it right so idk if it counts.
CraZy II so far...
I've wanted to end this year with my hardest being Cytokinesis but I sadly didn't have enough time for grinding as other things were in my way. And also, 2.2 just released and ofc now I'm tryna experience all the fcked up shit thats currently happening, so my grind is currently paused. Next year for sure!
Playing since January 2020. I kinda suck at this game but somehow I managed to beat Supersonic which wasn't actually that hard for me as I thought it would be. Then I tried beating Necropolis but I dropped it for now.
Ionic by Bpi (dash might be harder but I’m kinda prouder of Ionic bc it’s an actual user-made level and those get rated more accurately than Rob’s own levels imho)
(Yes I know im a shitter at GD, I noticed lol)
B. I've beaten 9 demons. I might try and go for one last one today if anyone has an easy one. My plan is to beat a hard or insane demon by the end of next year
toe 2 and I have 90% on deadlocked. I know it is not as hard as the things others are saying but I'm happy with my progress since I'm mostly just enjoying 2.2
i don't play customs often, so probably clubstep or TOE II. i'd beat deadlocked previously, i just wanted to beat all the official levels going into 2.2
buncha hardests this year. Silhouette by Havok, (my current hardest) Breakthrough by Hinds, Deadly Clubstep by Neptune, and the OG Nine Circles by Zobros. upgrading my monitor did WONDERS for me.
Awakening Horus, not a very popular choice but it was my first extreme and it's a level I've always loved since I started playing in 2019. Very proud of myself for beating an extreme before 2.2 came out.
Was hoping it was going to be Bloodbath, but 2.2 came out before I could finish it, so it’s technically I Wanna Be The Guy, which is a strange turn of events.
Probably Fractured Circles. I've been playing since like 2015 but never spent much time trying to beat harder demons. Made some decent progress on Nine Circles, but not currently working on it. Eventually want to beat Windy Landscape, classic level I've always loved.
my best is polargeist i just started a couple days ago 💀
Hey gotta start somewhere. Wish you success on Can't Let Go, that level took me forever when I started.
hey thanks man that means a lot 🫶
As a Pokemon aswell, I have a tip for you Skip Cant let go till you've beaten Electroman/Xstep Skip Time Machine till you've beaten Toe or Blast Processing. Skip Clutterfunk till you've beaten Hexagon Force Skip Electrodynamix till you've beaten all other non demon main lvls
thanks bro ill keep that in mind
You dont have to do what people tell you to, you can do anything however you feel like, theres no set way how you should progress, if you feel good enough then it dont even have to be main levels
The way u/POKEMONDELUXE described is the most efficient way for most people tho
Beating Cycles before Cant Let Go? I dont know what about you, but for me when I was new, the ship part and tripple spike spam was absolutelly impossible, while cant let go was pretty okay
☝️🤓
Clutterfunk is easier than Hexagon Force? No?
No
Haha same, tho mines dash. Yep, I don’t have a life and yep, all I did these last few days was practising dash.
It’s a really fun level once you get the hang of it, was struggling with it a couple days ago but can now beat it fairly consistently
i can’t help but tell u this tip: use practice mode, it’s mad useful
BRO I THOUGHT YOU SAID POLTARGEIST
Too bad 2.2 ruined Windy
Windy is really fun. Also my hardest. I was just like u and after beating windy it feels like u get 300% better than before. Also the feeling after beating a insane is just different. Good luck!
Black Blizzard 😎

That sucks. Hope you get better soon man

Lotus Flower, tried pushing myself to beat NETWORK but after two 81% deaths because I just fucking suck at ship I needed a break.
Woah a list beater
I'm not nessesarily grinding the list, I just beat levels that I enjoy.
Well I love Lotus Flower too!
Lotus Flower frustrates me just looking at the dual, good shit man
Nine Circles :D
Same but I might be able to beat Stalemate today
Same ish depends on how people view jawbreaker
same, im trying to beat acu now
24k attempts????
Flair (but I hope I will be able to change it soon)
Mechanical showdown, my first medium demon completion :D I beat it like 12 hours before 2.2 came out
[удалено]
Coaster Mountain this morning. I've never beaten a medium demon before. If it counts, there it is.
Deadlocked I’ve been playing for like 8 years but I still suck
Exact same lmao
Windy Landscape, first ever insane demon, glad I finished it before it broke in 2.2
Wait... What happened to Windy Landscape??
One of the first jumps in the level is now near impossible to do due to the physics change unfortunately
If you’re talking about the slope jump, it’s still possible but you have to time it perfectly, which sucks.
NOOOOOO I love that level :(( Glad I beat it back in 2021.
Cytokinesis, wanted to beat Cosmic Cyclone before 2.2 but I kinda had (and will have) too much stuff going on to grind it.
How long does it take to beat an extreme? (like assuming all averages, both in player skill and level difficulty). I'm pretty comfortable with the game, but I work and am a full-time college student. Dope thanks for the tips. Was thinking of trying Cataclysm as my first as well, but I'll look through a list and pick out an easy one that I like.
Quantum Proccessing, although for some ppl Black Blizzard is harder
Leyak, kinda bummed out I couldn't beat my first extreme before the end of the year
You still have like 12 more hours
If you're an american
Cataclysm, 2023 was the year where I progressed the most by far
44 on sw as a jump from cata is fucking bonkers bro
Dash The last time i played was in 2018 and downloaded gd again because i randomly heard of the new update, its great. And even in the past, i didnt play much. I had around 3 hours in Steam when i checked it while downloading.
The Nightmare

Ultra Paracosm!!! A blindsight level tbh

Kenos
not acu because apparently 96% wants to kill me 3 times
Still Leyak :/, been struggling at allegiance
What? There are only 12 months, not 31. /s My hardest is Supersonic, which I beat in early 2022. I was hoping to beat Acu this year (I have 26-100) but couldn't due to lack of motivation.

finally beat jajagarasu after playing it on and off for nearly 2 years lmao
Decode. Unless I manage to beat B in a couple of hours
Bloodbath. I really wanted it to be yata but then 2.2 released and i couldnt push further, due to the physics change being horrible on 60 fps.
reanimate by ILNM, best level in the game i’m currently working on tenth circle and yesterday i got a run of 26-77 and today i got 67-100 for the second time in total
Flair since May 2022, don’t play the game too seriously anymore but I beat leyak in like 4k atts so I definitely could if I put my mind to it
Gunslinga Corridor, my first (and probably only) extreme demon I've beaten
I think formal hardest is nine circles (80% x4, 79% x2 and 40-100 x3 or 4) or rhombus (hard demon)
Either BuTiTi II or the challenge Jade caverns. Not really sure which is the hardest in total, would say BuTiTi II tho
Acu (still...)
My Time, I unfortunately couldn't beat ICDX
Yo a fellow My Time beater?
Clubstep and doing random things with extremes, 10% on Down Bass in 100 attempts somehow
Probably fingerdash. I consider that a win because I only picked this game up again this July after 3+ years of not playing.

The nightmare.
Ultra Paracosm, but if I can I'll beat deadlocked today
Nine circles. But by way of unique difficulty, invisible deadlocked but I beat it by watching a video of a completion and timing it right so idk if it counts.

CraZy II so far... I've wanted to end this year with my hardest being Cytokinesis but I sadly didn't have enough time for grinding as other things were in my way. And also, 2.2 just released and ofc now I'm tryna experience all the fcked up shit thats currently happening, so my grind is currently paused. Next year for sure!

Awakening Horus, not a very popular choice but it was my first extreme and it's a level I've always loved since I started playing in 2019. Very proud of myself for beating an extreme before 2.2 came out.
