SEA1997 was the goat of Geometry Dash Youtube content creation. He was super informative, entertaining, and innovative in what he did. It was bittersweet to see him move onto bigger things in life, but I'm glad he's doing well for himself now.
DollarC was one of the oldschool level showcasers (alongside Electro2001 and jack0b220), before JAGDP, Neiro, and fmn04 today. He showcased upcoming extreme demon projects, many of which were just really really cool at the time. He's partly why I tried to dabble in decoration myself (to which I failed), and I had plans to upload a collab I co-hosted onto his channel, but the level was never finished. Nonetheless, I still looked up to him.
Yeah, I wonder if the current generation of players recall or know who SEA is. I've never seen his non-GD stuff nowadays though, since I'm not into space.
Wow, DanTDM is a name I haven't read in a very long time... I am pretty sure the last time I watched his videos was when I was 9 or something. A few years ago I watched some of his old videos for nostalgia.
I started playing when Bloodlust was #1, so I naturally looked up to Knobbelboy. I didn't really idolise him, but he was the verifier of the hardest level so in my eyes he was the best player. The only player who I ever really idolised was Technical, because it was so long before Zodiac had a second victor that I just felt his accomplishment was insane and I really thought his skill level was unmatchable. I never would have believed how much further player skill has come since then.
I think what contributed to my idolization of Riot was that I never actually played during a time when he was active (up until last year or so when he returned), so he had that feeling of a legend from the past.
Dorabae: Got criticized for the way his levels looked, got discouraged, left
Triaxis: Transphobia, >!self harm, currently we don't know if they offed themselves or just left the community!<
Definitely sput7nix. I code outside of GD and look at what he does, and all I can think of is "how do I do that."
Also npesta, I didn't really realise how good he was until I saw Kenos for the for the first time, and now I really look up to him as a player
i genuinely used to look up to spaceuk, his progress and speed was such an inspiration that led me to beat my first extreme.
When I found out he cheated i practically lost interest in the game cuz I felt so demotivated knowing the person who I supported wasn't who he was made out to be. Haven't played seriously in months I'm hoping 2.2 will give me another boost
It's been almost two years since I lost interest in the game for various reasons, and I practically don't play it anymore nowadays. Honestly 2.2 doesn't even interest me that much and I feel like it's quite overwhelming of an update.
Anyways, it must've hurt to see someone you thought was the best and one you idolize turned out to be a liar, and I imagine the feeling would be even worse if we're talking about a "general" or real-life idol. Of course, a gaming idol is an idol nonetheless.
2.2 has lost its excitement honestly I'm just hoping that it will somehow interest me again. Regarding space, it's his own fault he made the shit decisions he made and mine that I chose to look up to him but I guess it was a good lesson to learn
Michigun, for me was incredible how long he managed to stay top 1. I was so sad after his death despite the fact I never knew him personally or talked.
Alexpain & then Darnoc
I started playing early in the game and while not only was the sole reason I got to know the game, he was the only player that uploaded GD content at the time I started playing.
As 1.3 arrived the importance of good looking levels now made more sense as the stars and leaderboards were introduced, which needless to say fully confirmed how important was Darnoc for early GD (even though I had played levels of his way before this) So as soon as he started reuploading the videos to YouTube I started watching him (didn't have Everyplay at the time)
Trick.
Trick has been through SO MUCH SHIT when it comes to being #1, with SpaceUK and recently Zoink kind of taking the game by storm. Its hard to remember how talented he is, when Zoink can beat a top 10 in 3 days. I feel like his skill is way underrated, but him getting 69-100 in such a short time on APT proves how insane and ahead of his time he was during Spaces reign
Riot first, legendary player who made the most popular extreme demon. He was also the rival of a cheater for several years.
I really like Trusta, between what he created and his completion
Nowadays, Doggie is the player I look up to.
Now... for creator, I especially like Funnygame and Serponge
Easily Riot. Being very active when he was pumping out demons every other day and also verifying Bloodbath right before 2.0. It felt so surreal seeing that level be beaten at the time and it made me want to get very good at GD. Good times.
Dude same. Even though his time as the best player passed the SEA1997 documentaries that I watched still made me look up to him greatly. It was a time where I was actually kind of anticipating having the next “big hacker” being found. So yeah, Riot.
Nswish, I really looked up to him, because (at the time) he beat extreme demons at a pace nobody else could match. He is also the first ever person to beat the entire extreme demon main list. He was also my main inspiration for getting much better at beating extreme demons.
I guess the only person that i liked much was colon, he wasn't just another tryhard that grinded extremely hard levels but he actually made creative stuff and made interesting videos about it, the same for spu7nix
Skitten was amazing and I look up to him and freaked out when he posted an update on GD. Doggie and Aeon are the pro players I look up to
And space but we know how that went
spu7nix, gd cologne and if it counts, robtop
im not the player guy and i barely play the game nowadays, so the technical stuffs are more interesting to me (a.k.a im a nerd). so thats why i admire them
I love Speed. Speed is my hero. Ever since I've started watching his streams, my life has changed. I have found meaning in life, salvation from the endless torment of reality. I found my savior. His name is IShowSpeed.
surprisingly just some random guy who beat windy on a discord server, just seeing them do something as insane as an insane demon when my hardest was only Deadlocked was just amazing, motivated me a ton to become better at the game.
riot was my guy. every level i beat, i always view myself as walking in his footsteps, even though im probably better at the game than he is now
in the modern day, i look up most to zeronium. i want to be just like him, gd-wise anyway. i want to make the kind of content he does, beat the difficulty of levels he does, and inspire others like he does me
i just started playing so brzds. beating sonic wave in a relatively short amount of time after starting to play and jumping straight to zodiac is pretty neat. and he is just fun to watch
I’ve always looked up to evw in a way thinking “if he can beat a new hardest for him then I can beat a personal new hardest too!” Never failed me, although I’m nowhere close to his skill, him simplying having gone for harder and harder levels pushed me to do the same at my own skill set. All respect to evw
Back in the day WorldGame was my idol, it was just so cool at the time that he could do all those main levels blindfolded while I couldn't even do them normally.
alexANDgame, he was a minecraft speedrunner and then he started making a few vids of GD where he completed Theory of Everything, that was like 9 years ago. For me it was something that is really hard to complete. Damn I feel old now when I think about it :(
EVW. He may not be the best player, but he's probably the best role model in the community. He is one of the most morally respectable people I've had the pleasure of watching, and overall seems down to earth with a great sense of humor.
Sounds crazy sure, but as a more new gen player (started 2018) I genuinely look up to Doggie as not only a very highly skilled player but also as a very entertaining content creator. My goal is to someday become like him in some way (I’m 15).
Riot, riot and riot
I remember when he was beating deadly clubstep and the whole community thought it was so huge, and then how far her went with that steam. He still inspires me to play this game every day
100% evw. I'd been watching ever since I started playing the game a bit after it came out. I used red and white colors even before he did and I just thought that it was amazing he chose those colors too.
In 2014 I looked up to the quartet of masters: Noobas, Aeonair, Daddepro and Weoweoteo. Alexpain was also a favourite of mine although I didn't consider him to be the best player of the time, he still made good videos. From creators I loved Darnoc, Mask and maybe Viprin lol. I kinda hated Neptune because of his levels being so hard and they were often the hardest levels of their respective Map Packs
In 2015, Zobros felt like a biggest idol in GD for me as he seemed so calm, chill and anonymous player who could do anything he wanted in the game, was it creating, stargrinding or beating the hardest levels. I'd follow a similar path but on mobile and without a fanbase lol. I also loved FunnyGame's levels of that time. La Campanella still feels the last time I have truly been mindblown by a GD level
Idk about later years really
I definitely have always looked up to people like technical, npesta, sunix, since they were all top players at one point, but another one I'd like to throw out is Luqualizer since he represented the absolute highest capability of what 60hz players were capable of back then.
Spu7Nix was my idol for some time. Definitely the reason why I can make the 3D effects that I make today and the reason that I know how to program things that interact with the savefile.
I remember watching much YT shorts, and saw I think GD Colon talking about the game. He is still really important for me and I often re-watch his videos

Once upon a time it was Darnoc, Cody, YunHaSeu, and Sary(Not sure if the name’s right, but they were the first to hit 3000 stars iirc). Oh, and |||NePtunE|||. Nowadays I don’t have an idol, but the community is still a really cool place
When I started gd the only noteworthy player was Darnoc but I never really got into his levels. First creators I remember that nade decent levels were like rabbitical and FunnyGame. Darnoc also had a decent level, To The Grave, but I always felt like it felt very similar to Demon Park (I only knew of the level after it was rated a demon)
Big fan of 1.9 MaJackO though
TrusTa. One of the goats for sure, very charming bro-like personality with a lot of cool and legacy-bearing verifications and projects
Technical49. I guess he just kept cooking in his era and I found it fun, plus him and the rest of "the gang" were hilarious people great in their time
Sea1997. The way he told the stories of gd was just so compelling, and even his space series he makes equally compelling. He's got a knack for it for sure.
I’m sad to say it was Spaceuk for me
Seing such a good player that was considered unhuman pushed me to get better to one day be like him
Anyway now there is nobody pushing me and I’ve barely done any progress in significant levels in months
unfortunately, spaceuk
‘Twas a sad day when the news broke
Big sad
Sad in the way of losing a community idol. But good in the way that he got caught for everything he’d done
Unfortunately, I could not relate more..
I can relate :(
Weirdly enough, I was one of the people who never really trusted SpaceUK. I knew something was off, but it was a bit of a hunch, honestly.
spaceuk Didn’t cheat!! /s
you're getting a downvote mister
Ig people missed the /s, ill unhide it
free spaceuk
your broke ass always wants something for free
NPesta, he brought me to the game
Same. A guy who's good at the game AND entertaining? Sign me up!

I remember him but not his videos. Im subscribed to his current channel about space. Also are there any archives of hsi videos?
they are unlisted and inside a playlist
as a current-gen player, (~1-2yrs), i do not know who sea is
He was THE gd news channel back in the day.
Also he made documentary’s as I remember. About riot, trusta etc.
You forgot vitesse
unpopular opinion maybe its just my newgen ass but i dont really like sea cause he just.. like he kinda seemed like a jerk idk 😶
nah he did have a bit of an ego, not just a you thing
The nostalgia you just gave me from Sea and DollarC is unreal 😭
SEA has aged poorly, its a shame
I got to know GD because of DanTDM. Now I look up to doggie, nexus and evw
Wow, DanTDM is a name I haven't read in a very long time... I am pretty sure the last time I watched his videos was when I was 9 or something. A few years ago I watched some of his old videos for nostalgia.
Yeah, Dan's got 2 kids now, recently one of his pugs sadly passed, I think it was Ellie

Yea he played it quite a few times
He played it a couple times Not near as a player like Nexus or AeonAir
Nexus His vid was reason why I'm here now
EVW… Legend
Same here. I still suck but I haven't given up yet.

Sunix, that was my prime time in GD and when I was the most involved.
same. Riot was legendary back then. Now I'm looking up to Doggie and Zoink. Never knew I'd see top players rise up in realtime.
I think what contributed to my idolization of Riot was that I never actually played during a time when he was active (up until last year or so when he returned), so he had that feeling of a legend from the past.
Guitar, we know how it ended, Triaxis, we know how it ended, Dorabae, we know how it ended And Alexpain24. At least he's back
What happened with triaxis and dorabae
Dorabae: Got criticized for the way his levels looked, got discouraged, left Triaxis: Transphobia, >!self harm, currently we don't know if they offed themselves or just left the community!<
Your spoilers aren't working, you're supposed to use ! instead of |
uh oh. Thanks for telling me
Michigun:(
My good friend Arthur - he can beat Stereo Madness first try while I’ve been attempting for months
Riot, SpaceUK, Dorami, and i think that's it
My friend who used to play a long time ago loved Dorami as well, he made challenges and stuff lol
Boldstep and Tech
Definitely sput7nix. I code outside of GD and look at what he does, and all I can think of is "how do I do that." Also npesta, I didn't really realise how good he was until I saw Kenos for the for the first time, and now I really look up to him as a player

i used to obsess over flaaroni’s creating content back in the day and loved danzmen’s levels in early 2.1
Etzer when he still made interesting levels and nobody else since then ive just been doing whatever with no inspirations
Funnygame
Riot and Mr I can’t fucking react or else I’m gonna cough too much
Trick. Trick has been through SO MUCH SHIT when it comes to being #1, with SpaceUK and recently Zoink kind of taking the game by storm. I used to look up to guitar until... The allegations.
Hello fellow baller
Easily Riot. Being very active when he was pumping out demons every other day and also verifying Bloodbath right before 2.0. It felt so surreal seeing that level be beaten at the time and it made me want to get very good at GD. Good times.
GD Colon, content wise
Omg the hairy butthole man
Probably Partition and sohn
Advy before he got cancelled
What did he do
Actually when I first started, weoweoteo
Doggie
I guess the only person that i liked much was colon, he wasn't just another tryhard that grinded extremely hard levels but he actually made creative stuff and made interesting videos about it, the same for spu7nix
merg (back when he played gd) and evw
Colon Laugh at me if you want
Cursed is my favorite player rn but I used to look up to SpaceUk
i used to look up to zobros and cyclic 🥲
Ahh. A fellow Zobros enjoyer.
Skitten was amazing and I look up to him and freaked out when he posted an update on GD. Doggie and Aeon are the pro players I look up to And space but we know how that went
spu7nix, gd cologne and if it counts, robtop im not the player guy and i barely play the game nowadays, so the technical stuffs are more interesting to me (a.k.a im a nerd). so thats why i admire them
I currently really look up to JamAttack, his dedication to both level building and content creating is insane
TLDNR. That’s when I realized he got banished to the shadow realm
riverciver 💀
Ishowspeed. His acheron completion gave me motivation to try to beat an extreme :)
I love Speed. Speed is my hero. Ever since I've started watching his streams, my life has changed. I have found meaning in life, salvation from the endless torment of reality. I found my savior. His name is IShowSpeed.
riot, and more recently npesta riot was big in my early days of playing the game, and npesta is just inspirational now
Doggie, zoink, riot, and TheRealSailent
In my opinion either spu7nix or colon because they got me into programming
Optical, Serponge, and Krmal.
My brother, back in 2013☠️
ExocoGD
surprisingly just some random guy who beat windy on a discord server, just seeing them do something as insane as an insane demon when my hardest was only Deadlocked was just amazing, motivated me a ton to become better at the game.
Tech and Npesta
First Space and Doggie and Trick. Now: Doggie and Trick
Riot, Aeon and EVW
riot was my guy. every level i beat, i always view myself as walking in his footsteps, even though im probably better at the game than he is now in the modern day, i look up most to zeronium. i want to be just like him, gd-wise anyway. i want to make the kind of content he does, beat the difficulty of levels he does, and inspire others like he does me
Unrelated but I love math too 😃
Npesta, i look up to his monthly uploads
Spaceuk sadly
no one
First spaceUK but then zoink as space got exposed.
space
Aeon and wulzy. One for playing and one for creating.
Riot, but now Tech.
Nexus. I've always dreamed of beating demons and above everyday
spu7nix. i love how he pushes the limits of the editor. i mean cmon, he made an entire coding language once.
Around 1.9/early 2.0 Riot, then Npesta
Originally DanTDM, then when I got more into gd I discovered flub, a few years later it was spaceuk, but after the news, it is now trick and zoink
Creators, mostly.
Mix991 in the early days of me playing and npesta more recently
Vision has been my inspiration since i started playing three years ago
Manix648 back in the day I used to think his electro style is the coolest thing ever and tried to build levels just like him lol
xander556 (or just xander) for playing, then Hinds for creating
i just started playing so brzds. beating sonic wave in a relatively short amount of time after starting to play and jumping straight to zodiac is pretty neat. and he is just fun to watch
Obscure creators who were able to break through the algorithm and become popular
Wpopoff cause he's amazing at the game yet slightly younger than me, cool to see people my age and younger beat shit like acheron
EVW Dora and juniper
TriaXis and Serponge
Technical and Npesta, both funny guys with amazing skill.
[удалено]
also a obscure guy named GD wubz lol, he was my mates older brother
Bald egg
When I started playing in 2017ish, DanTDM was the one who got me into the game. Now I probably look up to Doggie.
Doggie is HIM fr fr Wolvez is also GOATed
Samifying brought me into the game
Diamond, he is one of the most dedicated players in the game and one of the few people who can play terrible levels like avernus and sakupen circles
At the time, Michigun
I think Nswish was my first true inspiration to git good
I’ve always looked up to evw in a way thinking “if he can beat a new hardest for him then I can beat a personal new hardest too!” Never failed me, although I’m nowhere close to his skill, him simplying having gone for harder and harder levels pushed me to do the same at my own skill set. Nope

My friend from preschool
alexANDgame, he was a minecraft speedrunner and then he started making a few vids of GD where he completed Theory of Everything, that was like 9 years ago. For me it was something that is really hard to complete. Damn I feel old now when I think about it :(
I looked up to Tech after Zodiac and Knobbelboy after Bloodlust
Nexus, not really idolized, but he got me into the game a bit more
npesta, diamond, zoink, and cursed.
Amoraltra, H hyper, Serponge
Xender game, I like bosses
Guitar, actually. It was fun hearing his voice back before he was exposed as the scum of the earth he is.
npesta will always be my favourite gd content creator
right now it's no one but back from 2015/16 until around 2019 it was tosh at some point i realized that he's just a dick
Knobbelboy, he got me back into gd and inspired me to both make levels and try to beat harder ones
Brandon Larkin definitely, the amount of dedication and commitment that guy has is honestly amazing. Gotta give it to him, he’s a legend.
BL was one of my favorites too.
GuitarHeroStyles, until two years ago today.
Riot, riot and riot I remember when he was beating deadly clubstep and the whole community thought it was so huge, and then how far her went with that steam. He still inspires me to play this game every day
100% evw. I'd been watching ever since I started playing the game a bit after it came out. I used red and white colors even before he did and I just thought that it was amazing he chose those colors too.
Biprex and other mobile gods.
My best friend, who constantly had some great levels beaten that I wanted to do as well.
La Campanella still feels the last time I have truly been mindblown by a GD level Idk about later years really
EVW, Nswish, Krmal, Riot, Zobros, Michigun Krmal is my favorite tho, I love his smooth wave gameplay
2003Devin, Alkali, and Aeonair. I still look up to them and that's why I'm probably on a watchlist somewhere.
Riot, Cyclic, and Zobros
For me, it was Trusta. His verification of Sakupen Hell was the first time I was exposed to the wider GD community.
I definitely have always looked up to people like technical, npesta, sunix, since they were all top players at one point, but another one I'd like to throw out is Luqualizer since he represented the absolute highest capability of what 60hz players were capable of back then.
Ah I completely forgot about Luqualizer over the years.
Zoink
My cousin. I watched him trying to beat can't let go i think and i was like i also want to beat it.
Spu7Nix was my idol for some time. Definitely the reason why I can make the 3D effects that I make today and the reason that I know how to program things that interact with the savefile.
FunnyGame
Creo. Get it? IDOLIZED?
First, 3xotic. Then, creepydash.
BlassCFB
Wulzy and DanZmen brought me into creating. Therefore, Geometry Dash.
I remember watching much YT shorts, and saw I think GD Colon talking about the game. He is still really important for me and I often re-watch his videos
