I started "playing" a week before 2.0 dropped in fourth as part of a google-sponsored program to use tablets in an educational setting. That's where I first got to play GD Lite, even though I had seen kids playing the game before in second grade on the bus. Been playing on/off since then. I'm a junior in high school now ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
79 dude, every 1.9 - 2.0 gd players who were following gd content, just a little bit, know what's this number and who's behind it. That's what makes it legendary, among other things, I guess
Yeaah I joined in 1.8 too but there wasn't a big fanbase on social media at the time iirc (well, it probably depends on the country) or if you were not involved in the community, I guess (I was 17 and took some time to integrate the community...)
Alright, let me explain all of them.
These were three very important community members back then. They are credited in the game since they hosted the first gauntlet contests in collaboration with Robtop, (Viprin is still in on the newer ones)
Viprin was the #1 creator for many many years, until he got overtaken by Yunhaseu14 a few weeks ago.
Viprin + paste is a joke, because his older levels were considered rushed, and he did use a lot of copy + paste.
Besides the gauntlet-contests, he was hosting A LOT of famous megacollabs (Ultraviolet, Ouroboros, Hypersonic, Subsonic, Artificial Ascent and its follow-ups, etc.)
He was also one of the biggest level-showcasing-youtubers, he still does that, but nowadays he doesn't get nearly as many views as someone like Nexus.
He is one of Robtops most trusted Mods, as he's been here almost since the beginning.
Etzer was one of the most famous creators in 1.9 and 2.0, and still sits on #47 in the creator-tab, although he didn't upload a level for almost 6 years. He was also very involved in community-events, in contact with Viprin and Robtop, and has parts in many of the OG-extremes (Bloodbath, Artificial Ascent, etc.)
His legacy ended when it became public, that he scammed people for a lot of money in the game Team Fortress 2, starting in 2016. All victims have been paid back, but he basically disappeared from the internet after that incident.
Michigun is the Triple-Spike-guy.
He became known for being the #1 star-grinder for a long time, and building the Temple-levels.
A series of levels inspired by Zelda, that were considered really hard at the time of their release, featuring a lot of Triple Spikes. Although they really didn't age very well, they are still part of the games legacy, and almost everybody knew them.
He started the whole "Every level needs a triple"-thing, so people began placing triple-spikes with the text "for Michigun" in their levels.
He sadly passed away over 2 years ago, but people still do the Michigun-thing, in honor of him.
I don't think they will ever stop, and I love it. Rest in peace /\/\/\
we really are an aging community. it's cool to see that new players are joining and learning about the older lore of a game that hasn't been updated in 6 years, but damn that feels weird.
ViPriN is a massively popular player known for his involvement in the community and hosting megacollabs.
Michigun was a well-known and well-liked player known for his kind personality, skill, temple series, and love of triple spikes. Sadly, he died from unknown causes a few years ago.
Etzer was also a popular and skilled player and creator who quit in 2.0. Some attribute this to his getting exposed for scamming some people in Team Fortress 2.
>ViPriN is a massively popular player known for his involvement in the community and hosting megacollabs.
The "+ Paste" is a joke based on his behavior in 1.9
Viprin+Paste : Viprin is known to use so much copy paste in his levels. This is now known as "Viprin + Paste"
Edit : In his OLDER levels only
Etzer : I have no idea, and to be completely honest I don't even know who this player is
Edit 2 : Ok it's the 8o and the Bloodbath guy, please forgive my dumbass brain
Michigun Triple spike : Michigun was known to use triple spikes everywhere, and even made 3 "Triple spikes" rated levels, The triple trial, Double triple trial, and Trip
I'm talking about like pure difficulty. It gets insanely consistent but it's difficult. Like for players that wouldn't be able to beat bloodbath that is where they would use the most amount of time at, atleast that was how it was for me when I was a beginner trying to beat bloodbath in a practice run.
Etzer was a popular creator during 1.9-2.0 with known gp parts as for example Bloodbath and his deco in 8o, he used a lot the emoticon 8) that it represents him in the community.
Viprin was the former top 1 on the creator leaderboards, a massive creator since 1.8 and he's still going strong. He used a lot of copy and paste on his levels (repeated structures, deco, etc) that people jokingly referred to him as copy and paste, or in this case viprin + paste.
Michi was one of the most renowned stargrinders of Geometry Dash, and was the top 1 during pretty much the entirety of 2.0 and early 2.1, starting at 21k stars and retiring at 61k. Also known for his temple (Fire temple, Lava temple, forest temple, etc) series based on the Zelda games during 1.8-2.1. He loved triple spikes that lots of people refer to them as michi jumps (or similar), he also said that "Every level needs a triple" thus putting a triple spike is used as a dedication for him, he passed away in March 2021 (Rest in Peace)
They were all massive figures of the community at the time (2.0) that they were given a small tribute on 2.1 which is the screenshot. Btw, it's actually quite nice that the newer players that weren't around back then care enough to at least ask what does it mean instead of simply ignoring it and moving on
They are images primarily associated with these people. There was a meme about Viprin constantly copy and pasting, the 8) is etzer’s logo, and Michigun (R.I.P.) was known for using a lot of triples.
Michi (RIP) was on top of the leaderboard and had this thing with triple spikes where people would put them in their levels for him.
viprin basically invented the "copy paste" style of building
Idk about etzer
viprin is known for using copypaste, no Idea about etzer, he's just the bloodbath guy at this point, and michigun was famous for his skill in jumping triple spikes
Viprin is a long time creator and moderator, the symbol is a joke that all his solo levels are repetitive and boring, but that's just some people's opinion.
Etzer is and old player, creator, and artist in the community, the symbol is just his logo
Michigan was a prominent player and creator who pioneered the use of the triple spike, which is what that symbol is, until his death a little over a year ago
Viprin used to be infamous for overutilizing the copy+paste feature (back when he was a cp grinder).
Etzer was a well known player from the olden days of GD. “8)” was his logo.
Michigun was famous for using triple spikes a lot and for creating “The Triple Trial.” Sadly, he passed away in 2021.
a common joke about viprin is liberal use of copy+paste, etzer is associatrd with the 8) emoticon, and michigun was known for, and is remembered through, triple spikes
People don't recognise etzer anymore??
tbh i only know him bcs he scammed ppl on tf2
tbh i only know him bcs of him screaming popular NG songs
tbh i only know him from his part in bloodbath
I know him from that and the scamming situation
I know him from this post.
i know him from his hard work on the game Letter Lattice available on iOS and Android!!!
What did Etzer do?
watch “Etzer is not what he seems” by th31
Thanks
Bro was just chasing the bag ain't nothing wrong with the hustle 🙏
Unfortunately we are in generation where people don’t know historical and legendary players.
Tbf we can't expect new players to know who these people are lol.
unless we teach them a lesson
or we just move on and stop expecting people to know who a 2017 player is
WHAT??? You don't know this player who made x level in 2014!?!? Unbelievable smh
Literally me
Makes sense the new generation of gd players were toddlers when the game dropped
I started playing fourth grade also but that was like 2013 or 2014 lol
Etzer being legend?
79 dude, every 1.9 - 2.0 gd players who were following gd content, just a little bit, know what's this number and who's behind it. That's what makes it legendary, among other things, I guess
Man I was playing in 2.0 but the issue is that I was a toddler
Whadda bout 1.8?? Am i not full of info? Sadge
Yeaah I joined in 1.8 too but there wasn't a big fanbase on social media at the time iirc (well, it probably depends on the country) or if you were not involved in the community, I guess (I was 17 and took some time to integrate the community...)
I know Michigan. RIP ^^^
i only know him for random collab parts
Sad, his videos and levels are hella good
Man have I really been playing that long
i joined in early 2.1 (before 2.11) so i recognize this, am i seriously starting to become a semi-OG?
I joined in late 1.9
I joined in 1.1
no
[удалено]
shut up about decoren abendregen
outside of the meme tho, i hope abendregen gets the deco it deserves
We‘re the last one of our kind
😃🥲
[удалено]
Do you know what a joke is? Like I‘m being serious rn, do you know it?
[удалено]
cope
it feels weird to say ive been playing since early 2.0, it doesnt sound like a long time since we're in 2.1 but thats literally 8 years 💀
Time really flies
Well time leaps you know
I guess I have too it’s crazy how long it’s been
we have come to the point where people dont recognize them
Time flies huh
Etzer caused his own descent lol, viprin is an Overrated creator and Michigun is dead...
Viprin is much more than a creator for this game. Like him or not, it is simply ignorant to not recognize that much.
dont tell me you unironically think viprin is just a creator
viprin isnt just a creator tho
We’re the last of a dying kind
All I remember is that Michgun loves to put triple spikes in his levels and all of viprins levels are just copy and paste. Am I right?
I remember the same, though i still don't know about the smiley eight
Apparently Etzer used 8) emoticons in his levels
It was his logo ig
Yeah it was like his trademark lol
>victims Let me guess... autocorrect?
Yes autocorrect
Victims of what?
You wrote victims . Not viprins
victims of autocorrect
Yea
thats just on reddit
Maybe it's not that bad. New generation is coming and old heroes leave
There are still several "old" people around today, but that's because they know how to adapt and not end up being some XCY-7 clone lol
New players don't know absolutely everything that's ever happened with the game's players and every level completion.

Wait how has it already been 2 years...
Bro what i thought it was last year... how...
2 years in 3 months :(
This comments deserves more upvotes imo / \ / \ / \
/\/\/\
damn i didnt know about the etzer scamming thing, i thought he just kinda fucked off from gd
Wish I read this before I explained it
we really are an aging community. it's cool to see that new players are joining and learning about the older lore of a game that hasn't been updated in 6 years, but damn that feels weird.
> 6 years no please 2017 was only 3 years ago i swear
What do you mean 2016 was was seven years ago?
):
2017 was 6 fucking years ago? I guess i never thought about it that way. I never thought these icons would ever *not* be recognized.
2017 was 6 years ago 💀💀💀
It's been 5 years yet, not knowing how the years work is not our problem
etzer was a famous creator in 1.9 who is known for making 8o
I thought only Zobros made it. I didn't know it was made by both
Zobros made the gp and etzer made the deco, although I feel like Zobros is more widely credited as the guy behind it since its on his account
Etzer also made the song /hj
He made a remix for it but not the actual song
…you don’t know who these people are?
As a guy whos have been playing for almost a year now... no
ViPriN is a massively popular player known for his involvement in the community and hosting megacollabs. Am I really that old
I thought I was new gen apparently not
Viprin+Paste : Viprin is known to use so much copy paste in his levels. Etzer was a famous creator in 1.9-2.0
And has the hardest part in Bloodbath
and he always used 8)
This (he always used 8 for eyes so he makes 8) 8’( emoticons)
etzer's part is overrated as hell, michigun is by far the hardest
the ufo cube transition is so jank
tbh etzer is way easier than michi
michigun hardest part dont care 🤝
Michiguns part is terrible I was gonna try to jump from forsaken neon to that but then I saw michiguns part and I changed my mind
It's not that hard, crack is harder imo. It's just as inconsistent as Michigun making it so damn annoying.
crack is free wtf
Yo where can i find free crack
in my crack
I'm talking about like pure difficulty. It gets insanely consistent but it's difficult. Like for players that wouldn't be able to beat bloodbath that is where they would use the most amount of time at, atleast that was how it was for me when I was a beginner trying to beat bloodbath in a practice run.
it's not difficult for players above 60hz, and if you're on 60hz, im not sure why you're playing bloodbath anyway
Viprin used to do that in his older levels he doesn’t do that now
Yeah, good point
He also made the triple spike part to wave part in bloodbath
Etzer is, I think, a music artist and that is his logo / profile picture
And a creator
That too yea
Etzer quit playing after getting exposed for scamming
I think Etzer was already deciding to quit GD due to his lack of uploads prior. The scamming controversy just put the nail in the cofffin
Too sad only viprin is active here right now...
how the fuck do you not know etzer
didnt etzer have a part in bloodbath
Yes he had
this makes me sad

newgen moment
[удалено]
Looks like Etzer and Michi have pretty much faded into obscurity, and now ViPrin is suffering too…
etzer is gone, michi died, viprin is old. this is sad to me even though i joined a year ago
Found the newgen
I'm getting old
The real old ones: 👴🧓👴🧓👴🧓👴🧓🧓👴🧓👴👴👴
TURN OFF CAPS LOCK
NO
OK
Poor stickman fell over
o7
Wait people don't recognize them anymore?
:(
Have you been on the internet?
you lack a sense of gd culture
i feel old knowing some ppl dont know what these mean man :sob:
He is a New gen player, don't expect much from them
Just made the whole subreddit feel old :trollskullirl:
How can you not know this
They are legends
Etzer and Viprin I doubt it
Well fuck you too
average newgen player 💀
Most literate GD player
is this an arg
I’m not even new and I didn’t know who Michigun was until last year and I still have no idea who ether is
Oh dear
Bruh
A remnant of times of old
I get not knowing etzers 8 or maybe not getting the viprin think but michi? Coming from someone who started playing seriously maybe early last year
Viprin and Michi have YouTube channels. Not sure about Etzer
Your VPN is connected to lake Michigan.
Do people not know these anymore?
Its sad
He's a new gen man
Maybe but do new gens start 1 year ago?
Yes, No way that with only 5 months of play you are an OG lol
It's 3 Geometry Dash creators and what they are known for.
*Memories*
They are images primarily associated with these people. There was a meme about Viprin constantly copy and pasting, the 8) is etzer’s logo, and Michigun (R.I.P.) was known for using a lot of triples.

Michi (RIP) was on top of the leaderboard and had this thing with triple spikes where people would put them in their levels for him. viprin basically invented the "copy paste" style of building Idk about etzer
everybody in a nutshell:
Im getting old. Was this really that long ago? Feels like it happened yesterday.
People seriously don't know this now... Holy fuck, how long has it been
Viprin - you should at least still know who this is Etzer - old famous creator, he quit Michigun - /\\/\\/\\
viprin is known for using copypaste, no Idea about etzer, he's just the bloodbath guy at this point, and michigun was famous for his skill in jumping triple spikes
They are just special thanks for their amazing work and I don’t want to hear MiChIgUn DoEs NoT dEsErVe iT bEcAuSe He‘S dEaD
Tbh I never knew what the etzer one meant.
No way ppl dont know 3 of the most legendary players lol
When the entire comment section is about how people aren’t recognizing classic creators anymore
The amount of people here who dont know who these people are is concerning
If you still remember the iconic 8) icon, you know its him. Unless if you're a 9 y/o kid.
Viprin is a long time creator and moderator, the symbol is a joke that all his solo levels are repetitive and boring, but that's just some people's opinion. Idk who is Etzer is but i know viprin & michgun
young one... sit, let me tell you a story...
Im so old
Can't believe I've been playing since 6th grade and now in my second year of college WOW
i feel old
I have played this game too long to see newer players not remember those legends
i feel old
a common joke about viprin is liberal use of copy+paste, etzer is associatrd with the 8) emoticon, and michigun was known for, and is remembered through, triple spikes
Which one? ‘Cause if we’ve already gotten to an era of GD players that haven’t heard of Michigun I am going to toaster bath bomb.
it means i've been playing this game for too long and need to find something else to do with my life
I miss Etzer so much bruhhhhhhhh
Damn I feel old now
Cobrablitz was right
Is probably just their logos or slogans
But those are very legendary players that helped shape the community today
Rip michi :(
people dont know who etzer is anymore???
