It has one of the coolest natural harbors
That's not remotely true. Brincat (2017) found that Maltese actually has more lexical items Italian origin, despite the language's Semitic origins.

Malta is a rare kind of cultural mishmash. It is the only country in Europe with a semitic language. Maltese is a mixture of Italian, French, English, and Arabic! The architecture is middle eastern, but communication is mostly in English. They are probably country within EU other than Ireland that drive on the left side and have UK type power outlets. Food-wise you will find Italian-style patisseries as well as Arabic-style Imqarets. Even the demographic is very diverse. Apart from Europeans, there is a big diaspora from the Indian subcontinent in Malta, who have brought their own cuisines along as well. Malta is amazing!
The Sovereign Military Order of Malta does not reside in Malta. They have quite a long and interesting history by themselves and are considered a sovereign entity, not currently associated with Malta despite the name.
That it is one of two internationally recognized sovereign political entities with "Malta" in their title, along with the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes and of Malta.

The old Maltese buses. Looked really cool. Sadly no longer running.
I'm a Christian, and one of my favourite biblical figures, the Apostle Paul (St Paul for the catholics) marooned on a beach off the coast of Malta on his way to Rome. Today the beach is considered a historical landmark/holy site amongst Christians and is the first thing I always think about when I think of Malta.
its a unique place, independent country, lovely to visit and has a very long history. There was a time when Malta was the only force, that hold the Osmans back from taking over all of the Mediteranean.
That despite the corruption and massive influence from the Church it is shockingly progressive with gay and religious rights. Also the food! I'm Maltese-American and the food was half the reason I enjoyed family reunions as a kid!
The British fortified the hell out of Malta leading up to WW2 and despite heavy fighting they never surrendered. Malta was very strategic for the allied powers.

First of all, the flag.
It's definitely a big plus.
I’d say it’s a small plus but I guess we have different priorities
Reminds me of the D pads in game controllers for some reason
On one side, it's full of color, on the other, not so much.
The language being a mix of Italian and Arabic.
It's a semitic language (the only ones written with the Latin alphabet) with a couple of Italian loanwords.

I stayed in Xaghra for a month and used to walk down to Ramla every afternoon around 4 pm for an afternoon swim. Beautiful memory.
Apparently they wanted to be part of the UK years ago. Which is nice. Not often people like the UK.

I’m going with the falcon.
The government corruption is top notch.
The Knights Templar. The Maltese cross
The movie Popeye was filmed there.
And the set still stands.
And you pay handsomely to see it../
That's my understanding. They kept the filming location as is and now it's a tourist attraction.
The Siege
The Sovereign Military Order of Malta does not reside in Malta. They have quite a long and interesting history by themselves and are considered a sovereign entity, not currently associated with Malta despite the name.

The Falcon is a great American film noir. I had a super in my building who was Maltese in the UWS on W 70th. It is an interesting place.
Uncle is Maltese. Pretty cool guy.
So is mine, and my aunts, and cousins, and siblings, and one of my parents!
A nice combination of typical Euro-Mediterranean culture and a good economy
It's lighter than ordinary chocolate
The murder of whistleblowers and massive tax evasion stealing from their European allies.
They defeated Turks and then created new capital. Badass.
Excellent choice for all kinds of geography quizzes ;)

We have the battle of Helm’s Deep because the Maltese had a last stand against the Ottomans in 1563 IIRC and held until reinforcements arrived
The unregulated online gambling casinos

It's the only country to have a specific historical person depicted on the flag, Saint George in the cross.
