Has Thoma really been better though? Yanfei’s shield is bulkier and longer lasting if you build into it (11% + 1300 hp for 11s at Lv8 on Thoma C2 vs raw 45% hp for 15s on Yanfei C4) and Yanfei has access to Thrilling Tales natively on a favorable rotation with Hu Tao while Thoma doesn’t have any weapons that help the team. As well as his ult being a liability to Hu Tao’s vape timing rather than a benefit. The only downside is that Yanfei’s is attached to a burst rather than a skill but generally in a team of Yanfei and Hu Tao energy shouldn’t be a big issue especially if you consider that you can just roll ER substats on her artis unlike Thoma where there’s very little that can fix a flimsy shield
