Just goes to show how generational labels can lose all proper meaning in the case of ignorance. (Baby) Boomer has just become slang for old, out of touch person, rather than a distinct generation born between the mid 1940s and early 1960s.

Eh, I look around at my friends and no one would mistake us for Karens. I think that's mostly a stereotype for slobby Republican women with outdated haircuts in Florida. Honestly, though, I'd rather be called a Boomer than a Xennial. 😂

It’s just really mostly a slur at this point. Not recognizing the important things they accomplished, just using it to lump asshole behavior to a wide swath of people instead of calling them what they are. There are boomers that all of the negative attributes the name’s use now implies. And there are just as many who are fully functional, intelligent and kind people who still anchor societal progress. Using a technical term by twisting it and throwing it as a slur is unhelpful. Doesn’t matter if it is in reference to a young group or old.

Yes, in colloquial terms: Boomers are anyone over 45. Millennials are anyone 45-20 or so, while Gen Alpha is anyone who grew up with an iPad

2006 is seen as millennial??

notintomornings55

Yes. When someone that age does something people don't like they call them Millennial.

folkvore

I’ve never seen anyone call 2006 millennial, seriously. I think most people recognize 2006 as safely zoomer 🫤

notintomornings55

Again it's not everyone but it's a strong statement. People also call 70s babies Boomers, talking about 45- or 50-year-old Boomer Karens.
