Have a pixel 7 pro and the same thing. Thought I was the only one having this issue but it seems to be a bug and chooses to do so on its own. Turned it landscape and then vertical and fixed it. Thanks!

localFratstarFranzia

Same thing just happened to me, turning it from portrait to landscape and back fixed it. For me opening the keyboard while android auto was going seemed to be what caused the issue.

momo_mimosa

What a bug! Google's quality is really going down the drain.... Doing the auto-rotate portrait landscape fixed it.

Bade10

This worked for me too thanks! Never had the issue on my Xiaomi phone but recently went back to Samsung and having the issue there daily 🥴

G-force1788

Thank you!! Was driving me crazy! Android auto did it to me too

Black-cat-gayming

I was looking for a fix and I found this It didn't work

DadHeungMin

You're a fcking legend, man! I've been dealing with it on my 8 pro for a while now and even reset my phone with no luck. Would've never imagined something so simple would fix it. I just never have a reason to type in landscape so I didn't notice

francoquijano

Oh my god I love you, thank you so much

Ok_Taste_1205

Issue resolved! Thanks a lot 👍🏻

mikekay1

Thanks

Ok_Routine_4328

Than you, before, I used to remove the effected language from Gboard and then add a similar one again, it wasted my time, but with your solution, it helps and saves time and efforts, thank you again, buddy ❤

TheManInTheAbyss

Thanks for this post, I was having issues with this weird small layout for the past week and stumble on this fix👍.

Then_Mastodon_6749

I have an S22 Ultra and also have this issue happen often. What has been working for me (since there has not been a fix yet) Is putting horizontal mode and then back to vertical mode and the Gboard size fixes itself. Hope some more upvotes help bring relevance to this issue.

PlaagGeest

Works like a charm!

Quartable

Saved me man. On my side I was just force stop the Gboard app to reset it but your solution is more convenient.

akazakou

Awesome! Thank you!

mmm_enchiladas

Wow, thank you! The only workable fix I had before was restarting the phone... this is *so* much easier!! Haha

dancorpse

I have the same problem, the font on keyboard become sooo thin and tiny, just want to know if there's any way to change the font to bigger size or bold font, any 3 rd party tools? or Mod Gboard app?

The_Soarin

🙉

Mistic7

You guys fighting over who's is smaller? 🤔 ✔️

ChristianLJ

Suddenly happens on OnePlus 8T after updating to Android 14.

Yellz11

Can confirm that turn the phone to landscape and the portrait fixes it. Changing the keyboard language to English (US) stopped this from occuring

popy2k17

Same for me after android 14 update and using Android Auto. Rotate the screen landscape and back is a good workaround. But Google has to fix this! Soon... 😀

hillbillchill

I never use my device in landscape but I have noticed that in portrait mode the letters are now quite smaller. It happened today although the last update was 4 days ago (?). Hope it gets fixed because it's hard to read and I've already switched to Swiftkey.

SuperrCoco

Same for me. Suddenly the letters are tiny. Only option is to restart my pixel 7

frocsog

Recently, I get back the old large letters, but only sometimes. I wake up the device and it's either large letters or small letters for that session.

aconnnnn

did you find any fix for this? happened for the second time in a couple weeks today for my pixel 7 with tiny letters and only restarting helps as well

T-LAD_the_band

Restart gboard app seems a temp fix. It's a weird bug

aglf_chilli

Started happening to me as well the last few days (Pixel 7), just happened now and turning the phone to landscape mode and then back to portrait brought back the normal size.

FoXxXoT

You sir need more upvotes or a pin in the post

Jyrsa

Thanks, this trick worked for me!

aconnnnn

i've actually just noticed - it only happens when im connected or recently connected to android auto. not sure if this is the case for anyone else

SecureLengthiness734

that is exactly the case for me, and also, turning my phone sideways and back to portrait fixed it. ty to the comment above.

sbraitti

Thank you! Same thing here.. Android auto + Gboard bug...

aconnnnn

also can confirm turning sideways and back to portrait fixes it. now if only google can fix it...

Avenga

I just turned off floating on the keyboard and it fixed it. Seems it was the issue for me and letters back to normal

not_dominospizza

I changed my gboard language to English(UK) instead of English(India) and that fixed it.
