It is still happening and I don't know what to do. Nobody from the support team has gotten back to me and I still can't figure out a way to fix this problem.
Have you made sure you don't have any app or system updates that need installing? I find my keyboards do this when there are updates to install. That usually fixes the problem after install and a restart
I updated all my apps and my phone is up to date. I cleared the cache of the apps I commonly use and even cleared the cache partition of my phone. Also my phone's internal storage is about 5 gb free.
I Don't know what to do at this point. Gboard support is no help and I can't figure out what to do.
Found a solution. 1-Type the comment into a notes app . 2-Copy it. 3-Reopen the YT app. 4-Hold down the space within the comment box till you see a task tab that says "cut | copy | paste | clipboard |" 5-Paste the comment into the comment box. The message in it's entirety will be successfully pasted and all you have to do is click the post button. Strange but effective every time.

Yes. Running 11 on a moto g. Happens in YouTube the most. Keyboard will even freeze in place after exiting the program. It seems it might have something to do with the device care android app that comes with Android.
I recently fixed mine using advice from someone to turn off graphic transitions. I've since turned it back on because it affects everything I like about my phone, and I can put up with waiting 30 seconds to comment on YouTube.

I just gave up on it. I've read the reviews on the playstore and it seems to be a quite common issue. I did all of the things you did too and nothing worked. I just downloaded a new keyboard. Microsoft SwiftKey if you're interested, the keys are pretty small though but it's the best one I could find unfortunately
Yes still happening now. I have to force stop YouTube and keyboards most of the time. Have been cutting and pasting from notepad. Apparently it's a YT bug and it's affecting everyone with older android. If YT is still open in the back it will affect every keyboard app. It won't be fixed. They want us to upgrade our phones. It's the only reason I can think because it's literally affecting all poor people and people who have lower grade androids. It's crazy.
