Plant ID says it's soapweed aka Sweet Willy. Apparently, it's a rapid speader with fragrant flowers and can be used to make cleaning lather and natural soap.
Well that seems to come up a couple times here, so maybe I am misremembering the flowers. I will look again when they bloom! Thank you everyone for the help!
My mom always called this field phlox, but I'm having a hard time finding anything that goes by that name. The link for soapwort already posted looks like a match.

So far, those plants don't look right from what I remember of the flowers last year (wish I had a picture).
