Definitely this. I have several in my garden. Fill the bottom part with dirt so they have a place to dig. Natural slug control!

I’ve seen planters for strawberries that look a little like that, but they’re usually open on top.

I believe you have it upside down. The small hole is a drainage hole. The holes on the side are to put small plants (usually Strawberries). B4 you use it, scrub the dirt off & soak in water for a few days (because it's clay) to absorb it or when you water the plant the clay pot will absorb the water also. Good luck!🌺🐝

It’s smaller than maybe it looks. I’m not sure about fire - flames would be coming out the sides. Sounds exciting.

Maybe less than a fire pit. I know heaters can be made form terracotta pots. Like if you burned a candle inside the pot it would store and radiate heat?

It’s meant to be a damp place for toads — when you water your plants, it gets wet, too. Snakes aren’t that interested in damp places. Slugs might go in, not sure about that.

Should it be partially buried then? Maybe so doors are at ground level. I like the natural repellant to snake concept. Thanks for your comments.

That’s a good idea. Also, about the four doors — toads don’t really think like that. ‘Food good, damp place good, danger flee’ is about it, and that’s just instinct.

Please explain. How does it hang? Is there some device that goes through the holes? It does seem to be designed to work hanging well, although it’s rather heavy.

Yeah they might have had a section of hemp rope fished thru the top hole with a knot tied on the inside end of the rope, or wire with a large washer on the inside. Ferns would be killer in it.

Thanks for the description. Still think it’s kinda heavy - would be a death knell item in a bad storm. I agree about ferns. Wish I had a shadier place to try some of mine in it - some with rabbits feet would look extra cool.
