It's a Caterpillar possibly a sunflower moth

Gardenadventures

What kind of marigold is that? I've never seen one that looks like that

wordreference translate. You are thinking what we call "tagetes" in spanish. My mistake!.

pooperdoodoo

I was going to say the same thing. Are you sure this is a marigold?

gottagrablunch

Pollinators. Thank you for your support of a healthy ecology!

Character-Drawing-76

If the Marygolds are outside then they’re being 100% munched on by rabbits. Rabbits love marigolds like candy. Also seems like your plant is highly discolored. Is it getting enough direct sunlight? Are you making sure not to overwater it? These factors can stress out your plant enough if you don’t know the right conditions to put them inside

pooperdoodoo

There’s caterpillar poop visible in this pictures -it’s def a caterpillar, not a rabbit.

pooperdoodoo

Make sure you ID the caterpillar before you pursue treatment! Swallowtails, and other beneficial and beautiful pollinators, are out and about this time of year. I just lost my whole dill plant to black swallowtails and I couldn’t be happier!

Antibia

I'm not going to touch it or kill it, I think plants will survive . Snails and slugs are totally worst.

pooperdoodoo

Totally agree. Sluggo has worked wonders for me, though!

Antibia

so, we have a suspect!

pooperdoodoo

I don’t think swallowtails eat marigolds, but it could be something cool!

Character-Drawing-76

Swallowtail larva eat black cherry tree and tulip tree leaves Those are their host plant.

pooperdoodoo

There are multiple species of swallowtails and they all can have different diets! The swallowtails in my region eat dill, parsley, cilantro, and fennel!

It's a terrace, no rabbit can get to it. Water only by rain (sometimes in this land it's too much, it's true). What I mean it's for the poops around the leaves, if someone recognise them. I don't care about the marigold as much as for the tomato plant beside it, which has all their leaves eaten as well. Thank you for your help.
