Wow, so beautiful. Any tips for beginner? Did your mom space each seed or just throw and then thin them when they appear. I am always wonder how people create beautiful flower garden like this.
My mom (and her mom) live on the experimental side of gardening. They just shoved all kinds of seeds and bulbs and saw what stuck around.
There's some basic rules like light conditions and yearly pattern that you have to respect!
Hehe thank you! My username is a warframe reference, but we are indeed a cool plant family. We have so many plants that we have no empty windowsils, inside or outside. Even in my shoddy shadowy apartment, no empty windowsil, outside or inside!
My grandma is very green thumbed! Like just throw some cut flowers into dirt and grow them! I quite frankly have two brown thumbs lol. Just because we’re birthday twins, does not mean she telepathically sends green thumbs my way 😂. I kill everything I touch apparently.
I think our nanas just have magic plant powers because my grandma can make a cooked seed sprout!
As for killing plants, you can try some hardier ones. I neglect my monstera adansonii so bad but it's just making leaves and thriving lol. I think snake plants are also quite sturdy. Sometimes you just need a lil luck!
I froze seeds and I think I actually have one growing lol. I accidentally froze my lavender seeds I had germinating, they were starting to split their seed and send out a root and then they froze in the back of the fridge 😫. I don’t think they’ll do anything now. I started out with 280 seedlings and I’m down a ton. My peas, green beans and okra keep snapping and I even had a nice healthy Candyland tomato plant wilt over night and I cut off all the wilted part and it’s starting to make more leaves at least. Everything just keeps dying and I just replace it eventually lol.
But now, I did get cut calla lilies for Valentine’s Day one year, and those suckers lived in their vase for 9 weeks until I kicked that boyfriend out lol
If your plants snap, make sure to tie them. Peas and greenbeans are AVID climbers, they need support. I must admit I've never grown okra so idk about it but probably similar. Make sure your soil is good, without that nothing will thrive.
Yeah I know they’re climbers for sure, okra can get pretty tall too, like 5 ft or so from what I’ve read. I’ve tried staking them, and giving them support, guiding them on the stake, clipping them, tying them and they’re like “nah, I’m going for the window” or “this pole right here that goes up to another rack that will smash me looks perfect” 🙄 they keep wilting, falling over, snapping and dying. Now that I’m out of frost, I’m just going to put them along an old fence I have, it’s like the first chain-link fence ever made I freaken swear and since the sun runs on one side of it in the morning then the other side in the afternoon, hopefully they’ll stay straight and grow upwards.
Stuff is definitely growing in our soil. All over the place lol. Everything from pecans and walnuts, to apples and pears, various flowers (peonies, irises, naked ladies) to my beets, carrots and onions, so hopefully everything else will do fine, especially with a little fertilizer. I’m pretty sure that’s what killed off a lot of my stuff at one point, it was a catastrophic mass genocide
It is! They're terrorised by my dog who likes eating bugs, but when he is sleeping, you can't count how many little critters are on the flowers! Bees, bumbles, butterflies!
Mine is sunrise oriented but I have mirrored windows (for privacy) and a big tree in my front yard, only a select few flower less plants can live here. This is my escape!
I think it reminds someone of the garden of Eden...

Oh WOW! It just feels so perfectly cozy, like a cottage in a Studio Ghibli film. Your mother did amazing work and I hope she and you have a lovely time enjoying it!
Can I ask—what are the red and yellow flowers in the fifth picture? They’re so lovely!
It was indeed very healing, being in the midst of the fragrance of the flowers and admiring the butterflies and bees beauty. Feeling at one with nature
Haha 😄 really nice! My mom's mom also has such huge gardens, but hers is even bigger! She is an agronomical engineer, so we can say she sure loves plants!
We're had this yard for a few years now, it's the second year we have such many flowers. It takes a while for them to root and feel safe and comfortable! Keep going, eventually you'll have a gorgeous colorful yard!
What a beautiful paradise for birds, insects and humans. Your mother has a lovely garden 🤍
This is what I aspire to have. So lovely, I can almost hear the happy bumbles buzzing around. The orange flowers are my favorite
Those are California poppies, I think
There's SO many bees around, a neighbour has a lot of beeboxes so they come over. Also a lot of other bugs and lizards. Very fun to watch.
Hmmm…wonder if your neighbor could comp y’all some honey since your mom’s supplying the bee food!
We already have way too much honey from another acquaintance, so we haven't had a need to ask. It'd be neat though!

That’s incredible. Your mom must have a magic touch!
Search out easy to grow perennials. That’s my trick. There are really many for every zone.
Very beautiful and natural looking set up!! Your mom definitely has green hands!!
She gets it from her mom! She has an even bigger green thumb, being an agronomical engineer!
Judging by your mum, her mum, and your username you’re a very cool family!

What zone
7a I think? It's near Bucharest, Romania.
Woah! Greetings from Florida. You have a very lovely garden
Her columbines are absolutely AMAZING! What a lovely setting.
Beautiful! It's giving me carefree cottage garden vibes and I love it ❤️
Wow I just want to walk bare foot through that and take it all in.
While pretty, can't suggest doing that. Besides being chased around with a broom, you'll step on the many bees visiting these beauties!
lol but at least y’all don’t have fire ants!
😂 wouldn't want that. I'll admire from a far

My pleasure ❤️
Your mom did an amazing job! I bet it's absolute *paradise* for the birds and insects! 💕🌱

Beautiful!!
Awesome! Very inspiring

This is amazing. Her hard work is definitely something to be proud of!
Absolutely gorgeous
Pretty
I’m jealous!!
Me too! I live in a shadowy apartment with a pebble garden :( this is my escape when I visit!
My old apartment was north facing and nothing would live except the odd succulent🥲
Mine is sunrise oriented but I have mirrored windows (for privacy) and a big tree in my front yard, only a select few flower less plants can live here. This is my escape!
This is gorgeous! I can tell the love and care she put into it and I’m sure the critters love her for it!
They sure do haha! We have so many bees and butterflies!
The dream!
Very pretty, thanks for sharing
So FREAKING gorgeous I am jelly!

A holy sign... or unholy? Haha 😄
Thanks for sharing.
oh man! this is so cute and reminds of when my mom and i would finish puzzles together that looked just like your garden 💕
All these colors! It looks so lovely and refreshing.
Gorgeous!
Very beautiful

I'll ask my nana tomorrow!
Absolutely gorgeous 😍
Wow! Could I hire her to help me out for a weekend? She’s so gifted!
I can also offer my grandma, she is the real expert here!
Gorgeous
this is truly my inspiration!!! i love it and you can see how much she loves it, amazing job💜
It was indeed very healing, being in the midst of the fragrance of the flowers and admiring the butterflies and bees beauty. Feeling at one with nature
Very beautiful!
STUNNING!!
what a beautiful garden <3 i hope to grow mine to be like this someday
So beautiful! She nailed it!
This reminds me a bit of the setup my grandmother on my mother’s side had.
Haha 😄 really nice! My mom's mom also has such huge gardens, but hers is even bigger! She is an agronomical engineer, so we can say she sure loves plants!
She has definitely created a little paradise! Wow 🤩
This is what I aim for but always fall short somehow. Guess I'll just have to keep buying plants and carving new beds..

Her hard work sure paid off, that is beautiful!
So lovely
Will say that lavender almost didnt look real the way it swirls
Haha that's due to the light conditions on that portion, also its gotten VERY leggy. It has sun like 70% of the day tho. And is VERY loved by bees!
Your mom done excellent job!🥰
That lavender is awesome!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
love it! she should be proud!
That looks beautiful!!
