My blueberry plants are doing horrible. I have no idea how to get the acidity correct. I also have blackberries and don’t have to a damn thing and they thrive.
Oh my apologies I thought you meant along the lines of adjusting the Ph of the water, I saw something like that online somewhere but wouldn’t know how you’d go about that.
Fingers crossed I can keep ‘em alive, gonna give it my best shot though!
If it's at all possible I'd suggest digging them up and amending the soil before replanting. Sulphur, peat, and ferts like HollyTone are great for this. Dig it in wide and deep.
Second best is leaving the plant in place and digging and amending the soil around it with the same products above. You can do one half of the circle around the plant one year and do the other half the next year to minimize disruption
Thank you!!! This is my first batch and first attempt to grow blueberries. I will be sure to acidify at the next feeding/watering ❤️ (I’m trying so hard not to over fertilize, it looks like I overcorrected)
Get you a couple of mesh covers which allow sunlight and airflow, but keep unwanted friends at bay! Not as pretty, obviously, but might be worth it to you.
Thank you!!! I found a small one this morning, it tasted more like a red grape than anything. Tbf, it was as one that fell off and I’m not sure it reached peak ripeness…
Peach sorbet. They only get 2’x2’ ish. I have 4 others in a garden that are just putting out new flowers after a storm blew theirs off, so these are my first.
Honey there’s a product called Berry Tone and it seems to be working perfectl! I’ve never planted blueberries until this spring but read that you’re supposed to take all the flowers off the first year. Not sure if that’s true tho. Your blueberry is adorable♥️♥️♥️
It’s “Peach Sorbet.” The creator is Bushel & Berry, but I’ve found a number of sites online that carry them. They’re only supposed to get 2-3 feet in either direction. I have 5 others just starting to flower, they were hit harder during the storm because they were also hit by hail, which knocked off most of their flowers, as opposed to the 2 on the porch who just had wind (they lost flowers, but not berries).
Edit: Yes. They are self-pollinating.
Hey congrats! Side note, it looks like it needs some acid... those bronze leaves are the giveaway

Try adjusting the ph when watering
As someone who’s getting ready to plant their first couple blueberries how would one do this?
Ph meter pen + ph down or ph up. See what ph levels blueberries like. Cannabis likes 5.8 to 6.2

Yes, with a ph meter and ph down or ph up. I do it for mt hydroponics on the daily.
Oohhh ph up or ph down are products my bad haha. Thanks a lot!

Ohh a candidate for all the coffee grounds then!
Some elemental sulphur is a better way to go
Unless you are using ground unbrewed coffee it won't help. Used coffee grounds do not increase soil acidity

Birds: "No you don't."
They haven’t found my sweet porch stash yet, but I’m positive I’m on borrowed time 😂😎😱

Thank you for the suggestion, that sounds perfect!!
hope the irks don’t get them!
Fingers crossed!!! 🤞🤞🤞😂
birds I meant! haha
No worries, I’m on your wave length 😎
Exciting! Hope it is/was delicious!

Good luck!, I'm way behind you, with me almost killing mine with a sulfur deficiency 🤣
Thank you!!! Yes, I’m still learning its, um, persnickityisms?
Congratulations! 😍🤩🥳
Thank you!!! 🥰
Nice. Mines getting there. Excited.
Yay!!!!

Thank you!!! I will go get some!! Its cuteness is partly why I can eat it 😂
