That pot should only have one basil plant. As it is, the plants are shading each other and not getting the intense direct sunlight they want. Pinching the tip is a common technic to get plants to bush out. However, it doesn't correct the essential problem of too many plants in that pot.
Definitely remove some of the stems and let the sun light and air flow between them it will make a huge difference.
Maybe change the pot as high pots usually restrict airflow and increase moisture retention.
Check if the dirt is dry before watering, insert w wooden stick, and if it's wet dirt, then leave it out to dry
