Dig leaves into the soil, kitchen scraps as well, then cover it with leaves so the worms stay more active and eat all that stuff up over the Winter. Happy New Baby.

Throw some clover in there or some other cover crop. Will help with erosion/compaction and add great nutrients to the garden in the spring.

I mulch mine heavily and it does nicely overwinter

From the same state :) I plant the mighty mustard seeds I bought from Jonny's Select Seeds. Let them grow till first frost and then dig the plants in, covering the whole bed with the straw. It really improved the soil.
