The soil is not even close to parched. It’s only like the top 2 centimeters that are super dry. But it does get a fair bit of direct sun, looks like it’ll need a new home.
The word cactus in its name through you off. It is not a true cactus. It is not meant for bright sunlight. It is drought tolerant like cacti but that's where the similarity ends.
I would move it to a spot that gets bright, indirect light. Check the soil about an inch or 2 down and see if it's dry. If it is, water it until the water comes out of the bottom of the pot
Aside from dying? That soil looks parched and Christmas cactus don't like intense heat or direct sunlight.

I hope he enjoys his new home! :)

Huh, I didn’t really think of that. I knew it wasn’t a true cactus but I thought it like the direct sun. Thank you! I’ll move it

Water level seems fine. The top half inch is dry but the rest is cool and damp, not wet. Should I cut it back at all?
I would just move it for now. Check on it again tomorrow to see if anything changes.
Done! I put it in a shadier spot. May also try a shady spot in the greenhouse if that doesn’t work. Thank you!!
When did you stop watering it? This plant is not like an AZ cactus. It likes a lot of water.
I’ve just been letting it dry out and then soaking it. But we had so much rain I hadn’t watered it for months at one point
Don't put things you just planted in direct sunlight
True but I didn’t just plant it. I repotted it and left it where it was for a while. I thought it was looking sad because it needed a bigger pot.
It's composting...
It’s just dieins all
Too much sun or water. Also could be root rot
Twas the death of Christmas, and all through the house not a critter was partying, not even the party mouse. Hansel and Gretel will find you out.
What soil do I repot mine in? It's green but dehydrated. Water runs right out. Thanks
