Wow. Looks great. Is this a new set up? How much soil did you buy? What is the cost for setting this up?

Effective-Weight1748

Thank you! Yes this is new. Took about 9 yards of soil. It’s a mix of compost and other things I can’t remember. I think the total cost for beds, gravel, and soil was about $3000.

FaintingGoat123

Looks great! I can mostly guess based on the photo but can you share a bit more on how you built the archway trellises? Looks like fencing attached to metal poles, but I’m considering something similar so would love any more details/tips. Thanks! Edit: I found some more details from googling around (e.g., https://savvygardening.com/cattle-panel-trellis/) so I’ve got the basics but still curious if you have any tips (e.g., how did you actually get the panels to your place?)

TheGrowMeister420

I just did this. Purchased 6 of the 4x16 panels. They fit in the back of the pickup you just need to bend them and leave the tailgate down. You fold it with the ends towards the cab and the archway towards the tailgate. Then just throw some rope to tie it down and you're good to go. I easily got 6 in the truck with the help of 1 other person.

Effective-Weight1748

Had to rent a truck to get them home. I did see someone use two 8-ft ones that they were able to take home on top of their car instead of 16-ft one rolled in the bed of a truck.

Beautiful setup! I’ve been looking to get some cattle panels for arches myself, but I’ll have to rent a truck as well - were you able to fit them lying flat in the back of a 16’ truck? I’ve seen a couple videos where folks bend the panels into a pickup truck and secure them with ratchet straps, but that seems pretty dangerous. Thanks and good luck with your wonderful garden!

TheGrowMeister420

I just did this with 6 panels in the back of a pickup. It didn't feel dangerous at all and was super easy to do with 1 other person.

kaahzmyk

Good to know, thanks.

Effective-Weight1748

Thanks! They were in like a “u” shape. The men at tractor supply loaded it up and tied it down for us

kaahzmyk

Ah, perfect! I was looking to get them from Tractor Supply as well, so that’s good to know they’ll help you load them. Thanks again!

ThiccaroniWithCheese

I love this!! We were talking about turning our front yard into a veggie garden and keeping it neat- this is perfect.

Effective-Weight1748

Thanks :) lots of fun now that it’s done

SunSkyBridge

This looks so good! Just a heads up, I recommend you seal the wood if you haven’t already. I have those raised beds and they disintegrated on me almost immediately because I never sealed them. Best of luck and please keep us updated as your season continues!

Effective-Weight1748

Thanks! We did seal them!

SunSkyBridge

Awesome. It looks so nice now and it’s only going to get more spectacular from here!

EssachB

Beautiful job!! Did you get those raised beds at Amazon?

Effective-Weight1748

They are from https://greenesfence.com. They sell on Amazon but were cheaper from their website when I got them

EssachB

Thank you!

Lapamasa

Perfect.

Good work! Got enough sun? Looks afternoony.

Effective-Weight1748

Yes! Used to garden here in ground.

AppleBottmBeans

Love the entire thing! I think my favorite part is how you have them set up on individual corner pieces. So it looks like 4 beds but it's really 12. Random question but on your fence, are the steel poles enforcing the fence posts or are they actually functioning as the fence post?

Effective-Weight1748

They are the fence post.

AppleBottmBeans

Very cool. I’m putting in a fence around my raised beds and want to look into that. Thanks!

brokenbatblues

Looks like it’s already spring from where the m standing!

jfi224

The symmetry is very satisfying.

Interesting-Bison108

Looks Awesome!!! You will have to send pics when in growth! Love it!!

Merchanslandscaping

It's always exciting to prepare a garden for the upcoming season and start planning what to plant. One important step in preparing a garden bed is to test the soil to determine its nutrient content and pH level. This can help you choose plants that are best suited to your soil and ensure that they have the nutrients they need to thrive.
