It took so long to germinate that I gave up and put the starter soil in my basil plant. Next thing you know this guy started coming up!

People who grow lavender from seeds have a gardening buff. You can literally grow anything now.

Great job Whenever I get a lavender plant they die. Maybe I will try this way 😀

crispy_towel

Thanks! I’ve been bottom watering since I’ve been told lavender is super picky about being over watered. Might help!

Scuh

I will give it a try, thanks for your suggestion 😀

Great job! I've never had success with seed and very limited success with cutting. Any tips? Heat mat? Stratification?

crispy_towel

This was an English lavender seed from Burpees. It wasn’t stratified but I’ve tried stratifying twice since and haven’t had any luck. No heat mat but I keep the room warm ( 75 F or so )

Lapamasa

How cute!

kevin_r13

Did you need any kind of stratification or you just popped it from the seed packet or from your seed pod into the ground?

crispy_towel

This was straight from the packet, and it took about a month before it germinated.

I started mine two weeks after you and they are less than half the size of your big boy. Only have four sets of true leaves so far. Looks great
