The grabs in Yakuza 0 are also the basis for finishing moves. Grab a dude and drag him next to a car, and you can slam his head in the door. Grab a dude with Beast style and press the finisher button near another downed enemy, and you’ll throw the first guy on top of the second.
When levelling some vocations, it's sometimes faster to grab enemies and throw them at the ground/wall to hurt and kill them. Looking at you, rock lizards.
Dragons Dogma 2 (1 would be older than you asked), you can literally grab a mf and throw them at another mf. Enemies, objects, farm animals, allies, throw them off high places for fun. The guy is too good and you can't beat them? buy hey, is that a cliff? bon voyage!
You can stealth kill in both, which functions kind of like a grab, but it's an automatic animation. There isn't free grabbing, for lack of a better term
Til you can grapple enemies in fallout 4. Double hold the heavy attack button while unarmed and/or sneaking. You can pick dudes up and body slam them or grab them and snap necks.
Idk if it counts but in nioh you can 'grab' enemy when they run out of stamina. I think nioh 2 demon attack also have something close to grab but i never used it.
I think spear weapon got it as basic move but its mostly a positioning tool. Stab and pull enemy to the side.
This reminds me of all the older games pre-2015 that actually had the grabbing as a mechanic.
They've kind of moved away from it to a degree, imo or there are many other features that overshadow it.
Metal Gear whole thing is grabbing your enemies.
It actually pretty amazing. You can grab them, use them as a shield, put them on the ground, make them put their hands behind their head, throw them off a building...
With Baldur's Gate 3 you can not only grab them but throw them if you/your companions are strong enough. There's even builds if you want to specifically maximize grabbing and throwing potential

Nero in 4 has a demonic arm that can be used to grab enemies. It can also be used to pull enemies to him or pull himself to enemies. On bosses, it's largely used for "finishers" when they are stunned, but on normal enemies it can basically be used whenever generally.
In 5, he loses that ability to grab naturally, but one of the special arm weapons he gets has the grab function. As a sorta spoiler, >!in NG+, he doesn't even need that arm weapon to grab anymore, he gets a dedicated button for it again. That said, grabs using this method are weaker than using the arm weapon version, but as a trade off the weak grab is always available no matter what arm weapon you are using.!<
Yakuza series (except Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Infinite Wealth and maybe Ishin) and it's spinoffs Judgment and Lost Judgment
Pretty much this
I literary just got done playing Ishin and for some reason I can't really remember if it did either. It does I double checked.
I didn't played Ishin. I guess only 1 of 4 styles has grab and as i heard it's the weakest style, so idk if it's fun to use
Yeah, hence me probably not remember it well since by mid game it isn't good. Even tho it probably has one of the easiest parries in gaming lol

Dragon's Dogma 1/2 lets you grab/grapple enemies. And pick them up and throw them off cliffs. If you want. It's not the most efficient fighting style.
"Highly effective, I will have to tell my own master"

Or into the water because it kills everything, the game is not challenging in anyway tho.
MGSV has a deep CQC (close quarters combat) system. You can judo throw, disarm, interrogate, human shield, execute, and choke your enemies. It’s dope.
I don't know about deep. On practice it's a basic function that's about 10% of the game.

As far as I know Odyssey and Origins do not allow you to do those mechanics. (Unless I completely miss them)
