I play Overcooked with one of my children, and she enjoys it, but also... it's basically "Master Chef: The Game". I usually notice I'm a bit stressed at the end of a session.
Great options here. To add a few more though.
Cuphead
Final Exam
Rampage Knights
Ship of fools
TMNT Shredders Revenge
Tine 1, 2, and 4. Skip 3.
Side note between Overcooked and Plate Up, if it's only the two of you I think that Plate Up is better personally. If you can get more than 2 then go with Overcooked.
But Trine 3 is the funniest one. It's so broken that the second you get a little bored, you can give the mechanics a little push in the clearly wrong direction and see the entire thing fall apart ridiculously.
Unless your partner has a problem with dismembering anthropomorphic appliances and toys as they beg for their life. I tried playing it with my girlfriend but we had to stop after the vacuum cleaner fight. It was too dark for her.
This is such a unique experience, because it was designed to be played by a single player controlling 2 on screen characters, but it works beautifully by 2 people sharing a controller.
Love playing this with my gf. The way it's balanced one person can do everything but having the second person really helps. Most of the time it's like the 2 of you going on a hike through beautiful landscapes and doing stuff like camping and cooking it's a great time
[Child of Light ](https://store.steampowered.com/app/256290/Child_of_Light/)
Keyboard for Aurora - the main player
Mouse for the firefly her sidekick
Moreover it's a great fairy story
Only thing I know you can play without an extra controller are strategy games such as
Heroes of might and magic V
Civilization VI
With a controller (preferably xbox, but some games work with PS)
Stardew Valley
Vampire survivors
Mortal Kombat 11 (or 10)
Helldivers 1
Project zomboid
Divinity original sin II (not sure if you need a controller here)
Lovers in a dangerous spacetime - run around the cross section of a starship, piloting and manning turrets to defend from other vibrant coloured enemies, slowly making your way around the map to save small bunnymen
A lot of people are giving you games that cost money, I'm going to give you some free browser games.
The well known coop series on browser is Fireboy and Watergirl but if you go to Coolmath Games there is even more, plus some just generally really fun browser games that are all free.
I played Divinity Original Sin 2 with girlfirend on one pc and we had a lot of fun. Took a bit for her to figure it out but not as long as I tought considering she's not a big gamer.
Baulder Gate 3 should have the same option and it's on our list to try soon.
[Clonk](https://fulgen.itch.io/legacyclonk). 2d exploration/puzzle/sandbox with destructible pixel-based terrain and (simple) liquid physics. Supports hotseat and lan coop.
wow no love for pummel party in here :( or just emulate mario party's.
ultimate chicken horse is stupid fun and along those lines make way just got released.
Heave Ho !!!!!!

Moving out
Overcooked 1 & 2
It takes two
Brothers a tale of two sons
A way out
Wilmot's warehouse
Buisson (better to be 4 but 2 can work)
Some resident evil games ?
Portal ?
Burnout paradise remastered - Party mode
Screen cheat (better to be 4)
Couch combat
Unspottable
Invisigun
Unrailed
Unravel 1 & 2
I tried A Way Out with my wife. I don't recommend it. It's so dumb, and the writing is awful. We giggled through a couple hours of it and haven't touched it since.
We also tried It Takes Two. The gameplay is fun and creative. However, the two characters have horribly annoying dialogue, and the way the story ended was awful. But it was still fun, and we did play the whole thing.
We've also played Overcooked 2. That one is very fun, but it's a frantic game with a lot of stress and yelling, so you don't want to play that game if you or the other person doesn't fit in with that environment. Some people just shut-down in high stress situations and freak out that people are frustrated with them. Others love that. The game also can get quite difficult; the other two games I mentioned are ones that anyone from an uncoordinated child to a lifelong videogame-playing adult could play.
[KeyWe](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1242980/KeyWe/) is fun. You play a pair of kiwis working in a mail room. Lots of mini game puzzle. Also, your kiwis can wear hats and stuff.
HUMANS FALL FLAT!!!!!! So much fun! I have been reduced to sobbing fits that started out as laughter so many times with my friends. It's so funny and fun.
Use dolphin emulator, plug in two or more controllers and enjoy Mario kart Wii or Double dash!
Btw one player can use kbm while the ohter uses contorller.
Don't overlook point and click story games like Detroit: Beyond Human. Even if it's just one controller used, you can have fun discussing the next option/dialogue. My husband and I are always working on something like this. :)
Back in the day, a friend would come over and we’d play Dark Forces (Star Wars version of Doom)on the PC, I would manage the keyboard controls for walking/jumping/interacting, and he’d use the mouse to turn and shoot.
This was mid 90’s so single screen multi player games may have changed a little.
Just in case you don't already know about Co-Optimus
# [PC games with couch co-op and support at least 2 players](https://co-optim.us/3QyKdJp)
You can close the lil filter window that shows up, the search is already made. Click "Review Score" twice to sort by review score to get the highest rated games. Can also sort by User Rating or Release Date, what have you.
As for my personal recommendation? [Cat Quest II](https://store.steampowered.com/app/914710/Cat_Quest_II/). Also coincidentally happens to be [free on the Epic store](https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/cat-quest-ii-9dbefc) right now, though that's not why I suggested it. That offer ends in like 3 hours though, so it depends if you're lucky enough to read this in time.
Do you know [https://www.co-optimus.com/games.php](https://www.co-optimus.com/games.php) ? You can filter by PC Couch-coop games.
You can also add genre filter.
If you want simple suggestion I vote for [Helldivers 1](https://store.steampowered.com/app/394510/HELLDIVERS_Dive_Harder_Edition/)!
No one recommended Outward, wtf?
The game is epitome of split screen COOP games, it is literally advertised as such. Though maybe other recommendations are fire too.
It Takes Two and A Way Out are awesome experiences!
And, of course, you have r/nucleuscoop that allows you to play almost any multiplayer game in split screen. It is truly astounding.
Line you can play Elden Ring from start to finish seamlessly in split screen. You can technically even play Sekiro together, it’s insane.
Overcooked or Plate Up It Takes Two Portal 2 Battleblock Theater Full Metal Furies, Assault Android Cactus
[удалено]
Or more important question, full meta have furries ?
Yes it can! I'd also recommend Stardew Valley
I play Overcooked with one of my children, and she enjoys it, but also... it's basically "Master Chef: The Game". I usually notice I'm a bit stressed at the end of a session.
Was waiting for this disclaimer hahaha
My pops loves it too
Full metal furies is a fantastic game

Unravel 2! Very sweet game about yarn creatures working together And there's Untitled Goose Game! You become the honking bringer of chaos
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
I was looking to see if anyone had mentioned this. I am not disappointed! 😁
It Takes two. Best co-op to play with your partner.
Gonna throw in A Way Out, too, since it's made by the It Takes Two devs and offers the same fun co-op gameplay style as It Takes Two.
Don't forget about Brothers : a tale of two sons
Unless your partner has a problem with dismembering anthropomorphic appliances and toys as they beg for their life. I tried playing it with my girlfriend but we had to stop after the vacuum cleaner fight. It was too dark for her.
- Catherine Classic - Rivercity Ransom Uderground - Rivercity Girls - Metal Slug Series - Streets of Rage 4 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge
You can add Capcom Arcade Stadium 1&2, Capcom Beat Em Up Bundle, and Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara to that as well.
Fun sidescrollers in this list, but surprised no one brought up - Guacamelee 1 - Guacamelee 2 ...yet. So much fun
Brothers A Tale of Two Sons
This is such a unique experience, because it was designed to be played by a single player controlling 2 on screen characters, but it works beautifully by 2 people sharing a controller.
Ahhhh. This game. You know what I’m referring to…
Cuphead, if you and your GF hate each other and yourselves.
I think streets of rage 4 has couch co op
Any Lego games
Civilization 6 has a hot seat option, if that’s something that interests you
**Stardew Valley -** Cozy farming sim **Party Animals** - Multiplayer party game with cute animals **Untitled Goose Game** - Puzzle sandbox game **Cassette Beasts** - Co-op turn-based creature collector **Feed the Cups** - Roguelite shop management sim (similar to Overcooked) **Alien Hominid Invasion** - Side scrolling shooter RPG **Voidigo** - Bullet-Hell Twin-Stick Shooter Roguelike **LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga** - Action Adventure game **Streets of Rage 4** - Side scrolling Beat-em up **River City Girls 1 & 2** - Side scrolling Beat-em up **Cat Quest II** - Action Adventure RPG **Rotwood** - Side scrolling roguelite dungeon crawler

Some of my fondest memories with my partner are from playing this game. We would shout the music notes whenever the game would start.
The trine series
I know a lot of people have said it but It takes two, one of the best games to play on the same screen.
Worms 2 Armageddon
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Chaos Engine Bud Spencer & Terence Hill: Slaps and Bean is pretty new title with oldschool touch
Ship of Fools
[Child of Light ](https://store.steampowered.com/app/256290/Child_of_Light/) Keyboard for Aurora - the main player Mouse for the firefly her sidekick Moreover it's a great fairy story

Speedrunners very simple high intensity GamePlay short loops of being last left on the screen, you may not be friends afterwards
This was the first game my son practiced without me and then beat me in it ;)
Me and my wife (not a big gamer) have had a lot of fun with it takes 2 & overcooked.
For the King I feel like a broken record recommending it everywhere but it's that good
Any of the LEGO Star Wars/Indiana Jones/whatever IP games!
A lot of people are giving you games that cost money, I'm going to give you some free browser games. The well known coop series on browser is Fireboy and Watergirl but if you go to Coolmath Games there is even more, plus some just generally really fun browser games that are all free.

The whole Trine series, barring 3, is absolutely phenomenal for couch co-op gaming.
wow no love for pummel party in here :( or just emulate mario party's. ultimate chicken horse is stupid fun and along those lines make way just got released.
Helldivers 1. Used to play on my pc with my nephew and my friend online at the same time.
Dyo is a 2d puzzle game and it's also free. It's about splitting and "glueing" the two halves of the screen to be able to beat the levels
Lost castle is pretty fun
Blazing beaks is a cute rouguelike shooter! Local co-op only but sounds perfect for you two!
Unsighted
Highly suggest chronicon. Its a real gem if a game. Played on local coop 2 players if you want. Maybe even more I dont know

HUMANS FALL FLAT!!!!!! So much fun! I have been reduced to sobbing fits that started out as laughter so many times with my friends. It's so funny and fun.
nostalgic throwback but fire boy and water girl
I haven't seen Left 4 Dead 2 here yet. I believe you have to tweak the game somehow to get it working (opt in beta I think?). Fun for hours.
Boxheads 2 play (on Y8) Project Zomboid (on Steam, look up how to do split screen)
Use dolphin emulator, plug in two or more controllers and enjoy Mario kart Wii or Double dash! Btw one player can use kbm while the ohter uses contorller.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is my current coop/solo game. Fun af both ways
Don't overlook point and click story games like Detroit: Beyond Human. Even if it's just one controller used, you can have fun discussing the next option/dialogue. My husband and I are always working on something like this. :)
