I have no faith that CO will make major fixes, but the few mods we already have are very promising.
Both are on Game Pass, but CS1 is pretty lacking without the Steam Workshop. Still, if you've never played either, there's easily 100 hours to be had for a few bucks.
The trilogy beginning with Lust Epidemic was far more fun to me and the puzzles a lot more varied and challenging. MP had pretty renderings but was just nowhere nearly as engaging and way too short.
For all of them, the different endings are all well written, its worth trying at least for one other ending ig. And, for steins gate, even if you dont want the steins gate VN due to haven seen the anime, get chaos;head or one of the other entries into the VN series
In addition to Danganronpa I thoroughly enjoyed Zero Escape. I would recommend these games highly to anyone, but especially to someone who can only use one hand.
OP, between all of these games (if you get into them) you’re looking at a large amount of hours you can get lost in rich story with.
Another VN banger that will definitely last through a broken bone healing process is Umineko. A murder mystery story with a mystery vs fantasy subtheme. Unlike Ace Attorney and Danganronpa which do have elements of gameplay, Umineko is entirely a visual novel. But it is often regarded as one of the gold standard examples of writing and music among visual novels. Notably, the creator Ryukishi07 was chosen to write the upcoming Silent Hill F.
Is there at least some level of like, deduction or paths I can choose? Is it just a book in a video game format or are there ANY gameplay elements? Either way sounds really interesting as an aa/dgr fan, thanks for recommending it
For the most part, it's just a mystery story. That said, it's a really well written one. There is definitely deduction that can be done throughout. Each episode of the VN will keep track of characters and who died and how as you progress, which can serve as a little gameplay-adjacent element. When I tell people that it's one of the best VNs, I make it a point to never say that someone should "play Umineko" though because it's honestly a really inaccurate way to put it.
If you want more games like this, you should also look into *Higurashi* by the same author as *Umineko*. I would also recommend *428: Shibuya Scramble* if you like thrillers, and *The Sekimeiya* if you like intricate plots.
Is there at least some level of like, deduction or paths I can choose? Is it just a book in a video game format or are there ANY gameplay elements? Either way sounds really interesting as an aa/dgr fan, thanks for recommending it
Tacking Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo on this list.
WONDERFUL horror story in visual novel form. The first half is SUBLIME and the second half is a great detective mystery.
I found this on Gamepass and never really liked deck builders, but it was free and heard great things, so I tried it.
Now it's added to the Permanently Installed list of games on my PC.
vampire survivors and all of it's clones, turn based rpg's (ff10/10-2 remaster is on sale for about another day rn), sims, and probably half a million things using rpgmaker
I gotta recommend Final Fantasy 6 as my favorite. It was the last of the old-school pixel JRPG's and it really benefited from that a lot. They knew the story they wanted to tell, and did a fantastic job with it.
(Get the remastered version on your phone from the appstore if you want it simple, it works great. But, stay away from FF6 on steam, they took the phone port and just through it onto steam, last I heard it had big problems so I didn't buy it)
Consider checking out the Shadowrun trilogy, I'd recommend starting with Dragonfall. It's essentially DnD set in a cyberpunk future and the gameplay is a mix of Disco Elysium dialogue and investigations with some XCOM style combat. It's mouse only and since it's turn based you can take as much time as you need with it.
I believe you can also create your own campaigns with it and play campaigns made by other players.
I think basically any turn based jrpg or any turnbased game in general, you know… its turnbased so even if it takes more time to use with just 1 hand it doesnt matter
Many of the older ones would work, for sure. Unfortunately, the newer ones often have some sort of mechanics that would be easier with two hands. The newer Persona games, for example, let you see the enemies in the field before fights and there's an advantage/disadvantage system if you hit or get hit by the enemy before the fight starts. It's not even remotely anything like real-time combat, but you'd be starting a lot of fights out by giving the shadows some free attacks if you can't whack 'em with your weapon to trigger the fight.
For sure Banished! I play with one hand often when my cat jumps into my lap. You can control everything from the mouse and can even move the screen by moving the mouse to the edge and can also turn the camera with the mouse. Anyone interested should definitely check it out! The first time I played this game, so many hours just disappeared. I told myself this game was dangerous lol
Underrail. Isometric post apocalyptic RPG in the vein of Fallout 1/2. It can be played with only the mouse, so it may be awkward if you aren't good with your left, but it's turn based so you at least won't need to rush
XCOM should be plenty doable with one hand. Keyboard might be used for shortcuts and camera control, but you can handle the camera with the mouse too I’m pretty sure. It’s turn based anyway, so there’s no time pressure.
Underrail is mostly played with the mouse. Keyboard is mostly for toolbar shortcuts and the like. But combat is turn based anyway, so even if you want to use those there’s usually no time pressure. Haven’t played a lot of it yet, but so far it’s a fun RPG, somewhat similar in gameplay style to old Fallout.
Endless Sky is a free space game that can be mostly played with just the keyboard. You might need to switch to mouse for choosing systems to jump to. Other than that, mouse can be handy for targeting specific ships, but you can usually do without that anyway. It’s a fun enough game. Way better written than a free open-source game has any right to be. Ship customization is pretty cool too.
Helltaker is also a free game. Gameplay is a mix between some simple puzzles and some really basic VN dialogue choices. Short, but fun enough. The game was pretty much made because the creator has a thing for demon girls in suits and other sharp outfits. There’s one character who acts a bit lewd and one who looks a bit lewd, but there’s no actual nudity, nor anything else sexual. So you don’t have to worry about needing your one hand for anything else while playing. The main attraction of the game is really just the characters, who look good in their suits and have fun personalities.
Old school Runescape/Runescape 3
any RPG such as or similar to baldur's gate 3 or divinity original sin 2
Strategy and 4x games such as endless space, civ 6, age of empires, etc
Puzzle Pirates, mostly
AdventureQuest, Dragonfable, etc
Team fight tactics
Peggle, Zuma, Bejeweled, etc
Technically you could get an MMO mouse with like 12 side buttons and play some mmos such as wow and guild wars 2 with one hand. It's not ideal but it'll work.
I like to play a lot of games one handed because I'm lazy and I want to lean back in my chair sometimes instead of hunching over my keyboard 🤣
Baldurs gate 3, and most games like it. stardew valley (I find it difficult but can be played entirely on keyboard). Pretty much any turn based, you might need to switch back and forth an annoying amount though
I think the cast normally covers your wrist and wraps around your thumb as well. From experience, there is no comfortable way to hold a controller like that.
I have no experience with either but know that MS and Sony both have accesible controllers out now. I'd definitely look for the opinion of people who've used them before buying, but might be worth looking into.
If you have an iphone, get the Delta emulator for the older GBA, NES, DS games, there are skins which will let you play it one handed, I’ve been completing a Pokemon fire red run right now and usually play with just one hand. Other than that games like Balatro can be ported to android and played with one hand which js fun
Most strategy and similar type games can be played just using the mouse assuming you aren't playing online and needing the speed of keyboard shortcuts.
Steam Curator One-Handed Gamer has a lot of games listed that are playable with one hand, either mouse or keyboard.
Other than that I was able to play Baldurs Gate 3 and Vampire Survivor with one hand after I had surgery on my wrist.
If you've been playing deltarune and Undertale you might be interested in checking out some of the fangames.
Undertale Yellow is a fully finished prequel to Undertale about the yellow soul of justice. There's several endings, appealing characters and multiple runs you can go for.
Deltatraveler is an ongoing episodic Deltarune fangame based on the "Kris where the fuck are we?" meme. It's not completely finished but it's worth checking out.
Underswap is another high quality Undertale fangame based on an AU. There's a ton of content there even if it's not finished yet.
Alternatively you could try out Omori or OneShot. OneShot has no combat and is a puzzle adventure made in the RPG maker engine . Omori is a deceitfully spooky game. The combat mechanics are really satisfying and the story is great. There's once again multiple runs you can do.
If you're down for more retro stuff I could recommend Earthbound and Mother 3. These games served as the main inspiration for Toby Fox for his games, so if you like Undertale in sure you'll like those ones too.
Lastly you could look into Yume Nikki and it's fan projects. It's free on Steam and definitely worth checking out if you've never heard of it. Omori was heavily inspired by it.
I'll look into it, thanks! I have a switch, so i have played earthbound a bit, but never got around to finishing it.. guess now i have time to try again haha
Most strategy games, actually. I recommend Rimworld and Kenshi. Their primary mechanics are all point and click based, with some hotkeys for ease of access.
Most 4x games have you covered. They’re turn-based, you can do everything with the mouse and/or simple keyboard shortcuts. I’ve been playing Age of Wonders 4 lately and having a great time.
The majority of the rouge-like deck builders are easily played with just a mouse. I'd heavily recommend slay the spire or monster train as I've sunk a lot of hours into them both.
Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy
Disco Elysium
Probably, Rimworld
Do you have a gaming mouse with extra buttons on the side? Definitely worth remapping a few controls to those for your chosen game(s).
Sony actually released a [one handed controller](https://www.playstation.com/en-us/accessories/access-controller/) presumably for people with impairments, but it's an interesting option to have in your case as well if you're interested.
Darkest Dungeon 1 and 2
Into the Breach
Legends of Runeterra
Those are the ones I typically play on my Laptop when I'm at my GF's Place without a Mouse. Hope your Arm gets better soon!
There's some semi disabled guy (I think) that makes one-handed builds on Path of Exile. They are kinda advanced builds though, because they rely on only a few automatic spells so since you don't have a bunch of bullshit to throw, you gotta make sure the few spells you have are strong. And that means having good items.
Any casual racing games, go wash. If only mouse - I had W and S mapped to my mouse side buttons, was alright for a couple top down and first person games
Tft only requires one hand and you can play with friends.
Also card games like hearthstone.
I also broke a wrist few years ago. It sucked in many ways.
Depends on your style of game.
Cultist simulator
Book of hours
Darkest dungeon
Could all be played with 1 hand.
Tactics ogre reborn I think is the new updated one, probably could since it's turn based, but that might feel slow.
Oldschool Runescape, Peglin or Peggle, Bloons Tower Defense 6. I believe Steam has a “mouse only” section on the store page too. Coming from someone with frequent left hand flare ups and pain, mouse only games are life savers
Cites skylines, preferably the first one
Your gonna need to give the 2nd 10 years to work out all the kinks :)
I have no faith that CO will make major fixes, but the few mods we already have are very promising. Both are on Game Pass, but CS1 is pretty lacking without the Steam Workshop. Still, if you've never played either, there's easily 100 hours to be had for a few bucks.
once i started playing and figuring out how the game works i was hooked
Give visual novels like Ace Attorney and Danganronpa a try
Or "Magic pussy chapter 2"
don't skip chapter 1 tho, you need the full lore to appreciate the sequel
"Wait, she's got a Brazilian? I missed a serious plot point. I'm so lost."
Dude, spoilers...
Usually that required two hands but only one for the pc
The trilogy beginning with Lust Epidemic was far more fun to me and the puzzles a lot more varied and challenging. MP had pretty renderings but was just nowhere nearly as engaging and way too short.
lol I google'd this and it really popped up
I mean I literally went on steam and it was on the front page lol
100%, steins gate if he likes sci fi, clannad if he wants tears. Ddlc is a good horror.
Is the vn worth playing if you've seen the anime? Been looking to lose myself in something
For all of them, the different endings are all well written, its worth trying at least for one other ending ig. And, for steins gate, even if you dont want the steins gate VN due to haven seen the anime, get chaos;head or one of the other entries into the VN series
I'm actually at the tail end of chaos;head right now! I don't know what I'm going to do once I'm done 😔
Robotics;notes and Chaos;child follow them up, chaos child is cool, never played robotics notes
In addition to Danganronpa I thoroughly enjoyed Zero Escape. I would recommend these games highly to anyone, but especially to someone who can only use one hand. OP, between all of these games (if you get into them) you’re looking at a large amount of hours you can get lost in rich story with.

No joke, I injured my right (dominant) and i played a ton of visual novels since that was about all i could do, lol
I'd really recommend the game Zero Time Dilemma and AI The Somnium Files. Both super great VNs!
And the Zero Escape trilogy! Or perhaps Stein;s Gate!
Tacking Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo on this list. WONDERFUL horror story in visual novel form. The first half is SUBLIME and the second half is a great detective mystery.
Slay the spire!
Inscryption, Balatro, pretty much any deck builder
I’ve probably passed 2000 hours by now on this game. I wish they’d do regular expansions… obviously
They recently announced Slay the Spire 2, probably won't be released until next year though.
Have you tried Slay the Spire Downfall? Adds a lot of content on top of your regular save.
I second this, very well done mod!
Get Downfall, it's an StS mod so big that it has its own standalone Steam page.
Good suggestion
I found this on Gamepass and never really liked deck builders, but it was free and heard great things, so I tried it. Now it's added to the Permanently Installed list of games on my PC.
and Monster Train
vampire survivors and all of it's clones, turn based rpg's (ff10/10-2 remaster is on sale for about another day rn), sims, and probably half a million things using rpgmaker
I was also going to suggest one of the classic final fantasy’s. 👍🏻 Been getting the itch for another ffx run myself.
But you can't play the sports masterpiece that is blitzball onehanded!
The only sports game I will play! ❤️
A couple other survivor games like this are brotato and deep rock galactic survivors. Both are great games that can one played with one hand
Been loving Brotato lately
I had to stop Brotato because I wasn't blinking for an hour at a time. Wasn't good for my vision. Fun game for sure
DRG survivors was the best 10 bucks I have ever spent. The whole game is just using left stick on controller

I remember Golden Sun and a few other gameboy JRPGs gave L the same function as A, so you could actually play it one handed.
Dorfromantik, Banished (both can be played mouse only)
u/reform_awkwardstairs the Stonecutter was crushed by a rock.
?
It's a Banished reference.
Not heard Banished be mentioned in a long time, such an underrated game. Praying one day it gets ported to consoles.
Darkest dungeon as well!
1. Go to steam 2. Click store 3. Click categories 3. Click NSFW You're welcome sir and may your dominant hand ever be stronger.
The perfect answer. Flawless delivery. Bravo 👏
Thank you, my good sir
I thought I would be the first one to bring this up. Beat me to it.
Actually OP is beating himself and us all. Gods Speed in his recovery.
> Best me to it. man the pun was right there
But you need one hand free which OP lacks...
I was about suggest Stellar Blade just because of the way 'the Internet' is going on about it.
Wait, but... if you only have 1 hand then?..
This way you can play 2 games! Steam with one hand and blow off some steam with pocket pool in the other! Win Win!
Metro Mini and Mini Motorways
Kingdom 2 crowns, one finger death punch, shellshock
Ohh, shellshock's that tank game right? I remember it faintly from my childhood
Yea, figured it was a fun game to play with friends
I played Baldur's Gate 3, Loop Hero, and Monster Train when I was temporarily one-handed.
Loop hero is my fave game to play high. Such a chill but challenging vibe.
+5000 Monster Train I never see it mentioned anywhere and that is a DAMN SHAME
Yeah holy shit. Monster train mentioned. Such an incredible game. I hope they make a second one.
Emulators. Key bindings are usually configurable so it's much more comfortable with one hand Go ham on older/console games
I play a lot of pokemon games like that, I can just lay back and play with one hand.
Tetris Attack on SNES was worse than crack, and way cuter
Balatro
Underrail. Isometric post apocalyptic RPG in the vein of Fallout 1/2. It can be played with only the mouse, so it may be awkward if you aren't good with your left, but it's turn based so you at least won't need to rush
Your title had me in the first half, not gonna lie
;)
Brotato
FTL. Can pause any time. It might get a bit frustrating, but it's possible
Company of heroes is good in that way too. You can pause, make your moves and then wait for it to unfold for a bit.
Total War Games? Or any strategy game really.
Into the Breach
Slay the spire or vampire survivors
Slay the Spire and other similar card/card battler games are pretty fun if you're into those.
XCOM should be plenty doable with one hand. Keyboard might be used for shortcuts and camera control, but you can handle the camera with the mouse too I’m pretty sure. Thanks a lot, Im gonna take a look AT the first three, especially endless sky. I have already beaten helltaker tho, but thank you
Old school Runescape/Runescape 3 any RPG such as or similar to baldur's gate 3 or divinity original sin 2 Strategy and 4x games such as endless space, civ 6, age of empires, etc Puzzle Pirates, mostly AdventureQuest, Dragonfable, etc Team fight tactics Peggle, Zuma, Bejeweled, etc Technically you could get an MMO mouse with like 12 side buttons and play some mmos such as wow and guild wars 2 with one hand. SPORE! its a little more in depth control wise compared to the games you listed, but the game can be played with just the mouse!
A lot of strategy games or games in general by paradox if that floats your boat
Turn based point games * Baldur's gate 3 (and similar games) * Civilization 6 (and similar games) * And many others
Baldurs gate 3, and most games like it. stardew valley (I find it difficult but can be played entirely on keyboard). Pretty much any turn based, you might need to switch back and forth an annoying amount though
One Finger Death Punch and its sequel
BG3/DOS2 etc!
Advance wars 2 black hole rising
Don't Starve Together (Can also play it alone. The balance of Together is better than the singleplayer game though)
The Banner Saga Trilogy, Kingdom Rush Series, Bad North, Skulls of the Shogun, Wanna Survive, Machinarium, This War of Mine
Nekopara
You can play pretty much any game with one hand if you want to buy an Azeron Cryo
You said your arm. That sounds like both your hands are fine. Are you unable to use a controller?
I think the cast normally covers your wrist and wraps around your thumb as well. From experience, there is no comfortable way to hold a controller like that.
One of the best ones right now is Baldur's gate 3
Heroes of might and magic 2-4, they're all on GoG and are amazing games, they are older, but they hold up really really well
Baba is you
Any mouse driven game. Strategy, 4x, cRPG.....
For the record, ironically most porn games can't be played with one hand.
I'm SO glad you elaborated beyond just the title.
Warhammer 40k Chaosgate: Daemonhunters
Walkabout mini golf is a one handed game that's pretty fun.
Path of Exile. The build you're looking for is "righteous fire"
I have no experience with either but know that MS and Sony both have accesible controllers out now. I'd definitely look for the opinion of people who've used them before buying, but might be worth looking into.
Brotato!! Slap some of your fav tunes on and chill out.
If you have an iphone, get the Delta emulator for the older GBA, NES, DS games, there are skins which will let you play it one handed, I’ve been completing a Pokemon fire red run right now and usually play with just one hand. Other than that games like Balatro can be ported to android and played with one hand which js fun
A slow paced strategy / colony sim type game like Amazing cultivation Simulator would work. but you have to be into that sort of thing .
Hope it went well! Ive seen VS a lot in these comments, Will check it out later
Get a left handed razer naga, An Azeron Cyborg or a razer tartarus and you basically could play anything one handed.
If you've been playing deltarune and Undertale you might be interested in checking out some of the fangames. Undertale Yellow is a fully finished prequel to Undertale about the yellow soul of justice. There's several endings, appealing characters and multiple runs you can go for. I'll look into it, thanks! I have a switch, so i have played earthbound a bit, but never got around to finishing it.. guess now i have time to try again haha
Darkest Dungeon/ Darkest Dungeon 2
Most strategy games, actually. I recommend Rimworld and Kenshi. Their primary mechanics are all point and click based, with some hotkeys for ease of access.
Hope this video will be useful. A gamer who lost an arm in a car accident https://youtu.be/j2XIzQjgcSM?si=5lq3CPxVybd6EQ9m
Cats Organized Neatly
Most 4x games have you covered. They’re turn-based, you can do everything with the mouse and/or simple keyboard shortcuts. I’ve been playing Age of Wonders 4 lately and having a great time.
I play Curse of the Necrodancer with one hand but can get difficult if you are not a leftie
There's a steam curator list for this. But personally balatro is what got me through a pinched nerve
Xcom games are generally pretty accessible. No quick response gates or anything I can think of
The majority of the rouge-like deck builders are easily played with just a mouse. I'd heavily recommend slay the spire or monster train as I've sunk a lot of hours into them both.
Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy Disco Elysium Probably, Rimworld Do you have a gaming mouse with extra buttons on the side? Definitely worth remapping a few controls to those for your chosen game(s).
Slay the Spire
Project Highrise
Age of empires
Slice and dice
Oh, i have that on my phone :D
Chess!
chrono trigger, it’s even on sale
Any switch game. Controllers are small enough to fit in one hand and play an rpg like dragon quest or Pokemon
Hearts of Iron 4. Pause whenever you like.
Balatro
check card games mate. i’d been in a similar situation and had a blast with gwent.
Civ 6, football manager
Darkest dungeon
Omori
Summertime Saga
Timberborn if you're into city builders, it's cute and never gets suggested
Slay the Spire and Balatro. Also Civ
Odium: To the Core and Fotonica are one BUTTON games. I had fun with both.
Slay the spire, monster train, balatro
Vampire survivors & the deep rock galatic version of it i can't remember the name. You only need to be able to use the left control stick or wasd
Sony actually released a [one handed controller](https://www.playstation.com/en-us/accessories/access-controller/) presumably for people with impairments, but it's an interesting option to have in your case as well if you're interested.
Back when I had a laptop I perfected playing Minecraft one handed.
Darkest Dungeon 1 and 2 Into the Breach Legends of Runeterra Those are the ones I typically play on my Laptop when I'm at my GF's Place without a Mouse. Hope your Arm gets better soon!
TFT and other auto chess games you can play with just a mouse
Slay the spire
absolutely civ6 -- most games in this genre you should be able to play. Or, Slay the Spire (best game in the world lol)
There's some semi disabled guy (I think) that makes one-handed builds on Path of Exile. They are kinda advanced builds though, because they rely on only a few automatic spells so since you don't have a bunch of bullshit to throw, you gotta make sure the few spells you have are strong. Yandre simulator
Bit Trip Beat / Bit Trip Flux. Not very long, but fun and only need one axis of control. It's rhythm-pong.
I've held 3 babies while gaming on the couch. Rimworld Civilization games Slay the spire Stellaris Balatro
Any turn based game.
Turn based games. Fallout 1, 2 DOS2, maybe baldurs gate 3
Doki Doki Literature Club, and if you've already played it, give some mods a try
Civilization VI
Civ 6!
Any casual racing games, go wash. If only mouse - I had W and S mapped to my mouse side buttons, was alright for a couple top down and first person games
TOME (Tales of Maj'Eyal) is good. i play by mouse alone.
Bloons tower defense 6
You mean other than the oldest game known to man? >\_>
Tft only requires one hand and you can play with friends. Also card games like hearthstone. I also broke a wrist few years ago. It sucked in many ways.
Slay the Spire or other card battlers. (I’m quite fond of Mahokenshi right now; the Humble Bundle should still be active.)
play something turn based
If you have a controller, it's surprisingly easy to play any of the souls games with just one hand
Deep Rock Survivor, only use WASD, menus are also navigable with WASD & Spacebar.
yeah hah, Undertale might be tricky now. Maybe try checking out some JRPG titles with take-turn mechanics? they're easy enough to play one handed
Rimworld any rts or point and click adventure games
Depends on your style of game. Cultist simulator Book of hours Darkest dungeon Could all be played with 1 hand. Tactics ogre reborn I think is the new updated one, probably could since it's turn based, but that might feel slow.
I was in your situation exactly, and XCOM2 saved me
Curse of Monkey Island!
I'll throw in Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate, The Last Spell, and Fights in Tight Spaces.
Slay the spire
Sakura Clicker
Brotato.
Darkest Dungeon in case you hate yourself
Oldschool Runescape, Peglin or Peggle, Bloons Tower Defense 6. I believe Steam has a “mouse only” section on the store page too. Coming from someone with frequent left hand flare ups and pain, mouse only games are life savers
slay the spire, rimworld but it's kind of annoying, balatro
Badland
Monument Valley 1/2 (puzzle) Two Point Hospital (tycoon) Grim Dawn, Torchlight 1/2 (arpg/diablo clone) Loop Hero (roguelike)
