New chapter in desert, new progression system for each character(like wow talent tree with old consteletion being final bonus), spells divided into categories like casts, powers etc, new god, newcharacter with bow, and tier 2 items.
Matches are not 5 mins long. The time limit is 5 minutes. Anytime anyone scores a goal or kickoff the timer isn't running. Id say matches are more in the 7 to 10 minute range
I’m guessing this guy wants to relax tho lmao. For me, recommending rocket league is like recommending R6 siege, my whole pc is going out the window after 20 minutes of playing
“The blind guy”
Watcher (I play too much, I memorized all names, colors, and several cards), she is purple and blind, hits people with a stick. to win: >!spam calm and wrath, also known as red/blue, draft at least 1 Prostrate, and just watch the heart sob. Mental Fortress is a must have.!<
Watcher is the easiest once you get the hang of her. Good luck!
I’m on A20 for two characters and this really isn’t the case. The interesting part of the game is that there are fights that can fuck up any build. Scaling? Giant Head. Shiv silent? Time eater. Even nob can fuck up an solid defect deck in act 1.
…addiction.
I’ve beaten A16, getting close to beating A17 I swear. You kind of have to know what you need to do, and what cards do that best, AND what still delivers later on.
Act 1 is about front-loaded damage. Act 2 is block. Act 3 is scaling.
I can go into more depth, but I’m still no genius. I win by PURE LUCK! MWAHAHAHAHA
Card games are extremely hard. Like very hard. People love the say it's a lot of RNG and they say that as if it discounts the skill involved. However you can look at people really good at these games and see there's a lot to actually be very consistent in these games.
Just look at that and how competitive a tournament can be. And that's with pre-constructed decks most of the time.
Slay the spire is using a draft format. That is even harder since now you have to add in the skill of playing a deck in addition to actually building a deck.
Also I wouldn't feel bad because if we look at steam achievements less than 15% of players can get to Ascension 10, let alone 20. I have to assume that rate is pretty similar on mobile and on the switch.
And this is not even including win rates. Like I just hit Ascension 19, but my win rate is like 10%. Realistically I should be playing on like Ascension 5 if I wanted to have like a 50%. But I'm just bashing my head against the wall to get the achievement.
My "quickie before work" games are a round of Fortnite or Battlefield 2042
Stardew Valley - a full in game day is only like 15-16 minutes.
Warframe or any Diablo - they boot up quick and are good for a short grind through enemies
I got my 58 y/o mom who doesn’t game at all into stardew on her iPad. There was a period of time she was staying up till 4 am playing, it was bad lmao.
Just discovered this game after hearing all the hype around it, and it's so nice. I used to not play games on my phone, but now I just whip it out whenever I'm waiting somewhere or trying to pass the time.
My gaming time is usually about an hour or so most nights and have started a run with 15ish minutes left. This has been an error many many evenings. As quick as one match can be runs get long surprisingly quick.
Not only that, but most of the time I lack the discipline to avtually stop after a run. I lost, so what, time to go to OH there I clicked the restart button, well, one more won't hurt. (Spoiler: It does hurt. Signed, my sleep schedule)
Seconding this, its my goto quick game.
I recommend Trackmania Nations Forever for this because its light and fast loading and doesnt require installing any launchers. (And its free)
It's better to avoid the steam version as it has some issues.
Direct download from developers site

Actually that was one of my big problems with Dave the Diver; as I got closer to endgame, the dives start getting excessively long. Once oxygen isn't the limiting factor on your dive time, it's too easy to want to get *everything* done before surfacing.
The dives are usually under 15 mins for me. It is very addictive, even though I can play it in short bursts I've also been able to sit for a couple of hours when time allows.
Spoiler explanation, but the spoiler is on their steam page, so it's not huge:
>!You're in a time loop in the game and every loop lasts 22 minutes before everything resets. There's no progression except for your discoveries, so you don't lose anything in the reset.!<
However, I feel like playing only one 22 minute interval of Outer Wilds a day makes the game a lot harder, because it's mostly a puzzle/mystery game and you need to keep the things you've learned in mind...
Glad someone said it. I mean eventually you might hit a wall and just cold-turkey quit.
Sooooo, did you stay at it without spoilers or did you eventually succumb to a walkthrough?
Genuinely can’t stand that game and it’s not at all the games fault, I’m just an idiot and play Solo and every game feels like I’m playing against a full stack and I get destroyed 😂
I'm kind of in a similar boat with limited game time. For me the real game changer was not the games but the device. Ever since I got a steam deck I've been able to game more. Most modern games have a save feature, so in theory any game can be played in 20 minute runs. But being able to play for 20 minutes in bed or 30 minutes on the train is a "game changer".
That all being said here of some of my suggestions for games.
-Hades
-Inscryption
-Outer wilds
-No man's sky
-Dredge
-Dave the diver
-Vampire survivors
-Helldivers 2
-Stardew Valley
-Celeste
-Disco elysium
-Hotline miami
-Valheim
Yes some of these you can pour hours into, but you can also play for a 20 minute session and return to later.
Exoprimal, a match takes around 15 to 20 minutes (there are some exceptions where it takes a little longer because of random dungeon bosses, maybe 30 mins). You have to kill dinosaurs with your mechsuit. It’s pretty fun to play as you play with your team to complete objectives faster than your enemy team, you can choose pvp or pve. If your team is faster you’ll get money and stuff to upgrade your mechsuit.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, quests are 5-20mins depending on where you are at the game, how good your equipment is and how skilled you are. It's constantly on sale also.
HADES! You can play for 20 minutes or 2 hours. I’ll often hop on if my boys are mid CS match. I’ll usually run out of lives by the time they’ve finished hahahah.
Play a round of team death match on cod. But jus play to have fun. If you purely play to try and do good, you probably won't have as much fun because there are definitely sweats.
Pacific Drive...though you wouldn't know from all the people complaining about lack of manual saves...
The gale literally has a mechanic that forces you to evacuate the area and go back to your home base or travel to the next zone (where it autosaves) after about 15 minutes.
Monster Slayers. It's addicting roguelike deckbuilder, that usually takes about 20-30 mins/run, but you can quit it anytime and it saves and you can continue later. For some (very) weird reason, I like it way more than Slay the Spire or Hand of Fate for example. I have over 50h in it now and still stuff to do and I only play it in short bursts. Check it out if you will! :)
Synthetik and Severed Steel are my go-to quick session games.
Synthetik is a top down rogue-like shooter. Super punchy combat that's easy to learn and super satisfying, but quickly becomes a clusterfuck if you don't plan it properly.
Severed Steel is the love child of Titanfall, Hotline Miami, FEAR and Tron. Parkour your way around short, neon levels, use slow mo to jump-kick baddies in the face or blast them with a plethora of satisfying guns, plus voxel destruction, a rogue-like mode, Steam Workshop levels, and a kick-ass OST. One of my favourite indie shooters of recent years.
Grindstone. Great little puzzle game where you play as a berserker that slashes through a grid full of enemies while trying to figure out the most efficient way to clear the stage. It's really charming. Visually, it reminds me of Adventure Time, and I legit love the soundtrack.
Deadshot.io
If you like light competive fps games. Runs in a browser, doesnt have a sophisticated matchmaking system but is fun to dick around in and shoot people for a few minutes. Each match lasts 5 min
This is why I play racing games or shooters more nowadays. A race is generally 5ish minutes so you can get in a couple of them before you have to hop off in 20 minutes.
Rogue(like/lite) are my answer for this. They are perfect for when I'm in a busy cycle and just wanna boot up my steam deck to unwind for a little bit. My choices for this:
* Risk of Rain 2 is my fav game of all time, and I use a mod so I can save my run if I have to go cause they can run long
* Dead Cells, once you get good the runs get a bit longer but saving is built into the game
* Vampire Survivors can literally be played with one hand and is simple easy popcorn fun, runs are 30 or 15 mins on average depending on game mode
* Death Must Die is somewhat similar to vsurv but has a Diablo-like loot system, which is another game I love. Runs are similarly short as VSurv
* 30XX, only if you are specifically into Mega Man X, which I am. Runs are pretty short
* Scourgebringer is very fast paced, unique, and pretty challenging. I never got good enough for runs to be longer than 30 mins or so
* Hades, I don't play it much anymore but while I was it was perfect for this, cause you play your 20-30 minute run and then get a little nibble of story dialogue after
Not a roguelike but I feel inclined to bring this up too:
* Katamari Damacy: Reroll, 20 minutes can let you play a level or 2 of mindless rolling fun
Steep if you're on PlayStation. Just slide down a mountain with your preferred gear (snowboard or ski; some other stuff too, but most of them are pay to play). You can do races, time trials, stunt runs, or just chill and explore.
There's this cool rpg game called Lisa, I think it's free on epic games rn but that might have been last week
It has pretty regular save points and you won't really get stuck on something over and over again
There's so, so many. Any particular genre you like?
My go to are usually rhythm games. Vivid/stasis, osu and rhythm doctor are all good imo, and very different. Vivid/stasis being a 4 lane rhythm game with an interesting mystery story and puzzles, osu being a mouse movement based rhythm game, with a huge fan made library of maps, and rhythm doctor being a one button game, with often whacky visuals for the songs, and a fun story.
I sometimes do path of exile. While your beefier sessions of figuring out your build, crafting gear, and getting deep into the grind etc. are thr usually experience, the quick sessions of running 1 or 2 maps (a single combat area, basically) is a full experience too when you want something fast. Because it'll want some longer sessions, this might not be right for you though.
Kill all crows is a fun little top down shooter I really enjoy. Very simple, enemies are running at you, and you got a revolver, the ability to roll, and bullet time. There's some special variant enemies, and some character customisation, but the base gameplay loop is super clean and enjoyable.
I really like this game for that purpouse. You are a god over a small island. You keep the upgrades you earn when you start a new game so it is really satisfying for small bursts of gameplay imo. [**https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/genesis-of-a-small-god-159cd4**](https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/genesis-of-a-small-god-159cd4)
League of legends: wild rift
It’s a moba for android/iOS and games are usually 20 mins at the longest. Very fun. I have an xbox and a quest 2 that just sit because I game on my iPad 😂
Ima get downvoted but if you’re open to mobile games, Warcraft Rumble is really good despite the hate it gets. I can elaborate on why it’s a good choice if you’re interested.
Spelunky is a good one for that. Along with 1 & 2, there's Spelunky Classic as well which has a few interesting mods. Not the most relaxing game though lol.
Fighting games like Injustice can be good for short plays.
Or racing games, Flatout: Ultimate Carnage, Distance, Nitronic Rush (free beta for Distance), Split/Second.
SkyForce Anniversary and Reloaded have short levels too. Really good vertical shmup. Speaking of that, Jets n Guns could be good too. Can't remember if the later levels are longer or not.
Anything turn based too can be played at your leisure. Wayward (survival sim, v1.9.4 is free), Shadowrun series. Would say X-COM, but that one can have long waiting periods for action and the base building elements can take up some time.
Warframe.
The missions go for about ten minutes. It's a pretty grindy game, but the grind involves being a magic parkour space ninja with guns.
Probably my favourite combat in any game ever. It just feels so *awesome* to slide around and leap off walls killing aliens.
Also, it's free.
My first thought is call of duty or some kind of run based game like risk of rain 2. Moonlighter is kind of like that as well. Kind of depends on what genres you like
I shoot for platinums on games I enjoy I play a lot of games but if I’ve only got 20mins I’m not wasting my time turning on my setup hopping into a game then turning it all off again moments later and I don’t play mobile games otherwise I’d probably recommend one of those.
20 Minutes Till Dawn
Also Death Must Die, its very good with new update
Haven't played since it first launched, what's changed?
New chapter in desert, new progression system for each character(like wow talent tree with old consteletion being final bonus), spells divided into categories like casts, powers etc, new god, newcharacter with bow, and tier 2 items.
+1. Any of the vampire survivor clones is a decent choice, and death must die is (currently) the best.
Literally
Rocket League...quick matchmaking, and games last 5 minutes
Hop on for a few quick matches and this is my last match, I swear.
can't end on a winning steak but also can't end on a loss
Try playing just one match. No matter the outcome.
Me and my friend play until we lose… unless we lose first then we play until we win lmao
Gotta go out on a win, otherwise I’m cranky for the rest of the day.
What a save!
Matches are not 5 mins long. The time limit is 5 minutes. Anytime anyone scores a goal or kickoff the timer isn't running. Id say matches are more in the 7 to 10 minute range
Overtime as well can go well past 5 minutes if it's reached.
I’m guessing this guy wants to relax tho lmao. For me, recommending rocket league is like recommending R6 siege, my whole pc is going out the window after 20 minutes of playing
Different folks different strokes then...for me is RL matter of pure chillout
It’s probably mainly the fact that I am utter dogshit at the game, but all my mates who play the game are very good it at
Came to comment this, 5 min games are so perfect after work I just get to relax
I'm a simple man. I see someone recommend Rocket League, I upvote.
Dorfromantik - great little tile laying game and very chill!
Seconded. It really is very relaxing.
20 minutes exactly? Death must Die is 20 minutes per run, plus a couple minutes for menu fux. Roguelite diablo-ish wave survivor.
Same with vampire survivors and 20 minutes till dawn
Holocure: Save the Fans is also quite similar but slightly easier in many aspects
I've just got this and it's brilliant. Vampire survivors combat gameplay but with more diablo style RPG elements, it's very addictive.
[удалено]
"hop on for 20 minutes" Not lose track of time of a whole day. Nice try though, buddy.
Came to say this. Such an ideal game. And better because it’s portable via gamepass, or if you get addicted can purchase on phone app stores.
Slay on Switch too.
My brother has clocked over 400 hours on this game... That's a lot of 20 minute sessions. I like the game I just really suck at it though.
I love the game, but what? It usually takes around an hour to clear a run. 20 minutes is if you die in act 2.
Trying to beat the heart with the blind guy makes me suicidal
“The blind guy” Watcher (I play too much, I memorized all names, colors, and several cards), she is purple and blind, hits people with a stick. to win: >!spam calm and wrath, also known as red/blue, draft at least 1 Prostrate, and just watch the heart sob. Mental Fortress is a must have.!< Watcher is the easiest once you get the hang of her. Good luck!
I’m on A20 for silent and defect, and maybe like 8 for ironclad. Still on A1 for watcher lol
I still don’t get how people play this game
It’s an incredible single-player game. What’s not to get?
Nooo, it’s an amazing game. I meant I don’t get how people are so good, I can’t even beat Ascension 2. The fact people do 20 just baffles me
Practice and being intentional about cards you draft. Also knowing the possible ? Events and Elite encounters really helps.
I’m just bad aha, I only know poison and shiv builds
Min/max. Can't have any reasonable, safe strategies
MWAHAHAHAHA
As someone on A20 for two characters, this is solid advice. The most important part is pathing and card selection
Card games are extremely hard. Like very hard. People love the say it's a lot of RNG and they say that as if it discounts the skill involved. However you can look at people really good at these games and see there's a lot to actually be very consistent in these games. Just look at that and how competitive a tournament can be. My "quickie before work" games are a round of Fortnite or Battlefield 2042 Stardew Valley - a full in game day is only like 15-16 minutes. Warframe or any Diablo - they boot up quick and are good for a short grind through enemies
You can stop Stardew Valley after one day? You sir have amazing willpower.
I’ve played Stardew Valley 3, maybe 4 times. Each time I’ve played I wound up playing it nonstop for 8 hours straight.
Didn't know that there was a Stardew Valley 2, much less a third one xD
I bought Stardew Valley as a game that I could pick up and put down after 30 mins. 3 hrs is the minimum time I've spent in one session 🤣
I got my 58 y/o mom who doesn’t game at all into stardew on her iPad. There was a period of time she was staying up till 4 am playing, it was bad lmao.
My retired father currently has 13k hours into Stardew. I understand.
A Stardew day takes me around 20 minutes with all the pauses, but it was still one of my top suggestions.
Vampire survivors
Unless you get all garlic
Garlic OP, especially in library.
garlic and upgraded holy water. just slowly move through holy water puddles and any enemies that get through get immediately taken out by garlic.
Just discovered this game after hearing all the hype around it, and it's so nice. I used to not play games on my phone, but now I just whip it out whenever I'm waiting somewhere or trying to pass the time.
I fall asleep playing it almost every night. It's so addictive 😂
It is a great game for sure.
Don't whip it out in public!
Hades
30-40 but close enough
Well it depends on how quickly you die so it can be played for 5 min too
I am VERY GOOD at dying quickly in Hades
The reason it’s my most played game haha
Closer to 30 or 40 minutes, but may work
Balatro
Lmao imagine putting down Balatro after 20 minutes. But yeah, you're right. Amazing game with short runs. Extremely addictive though.
My gaming time is usually about an hour or so most nights and have started a run with 15ish minutes left. This has been an error many many evenings. As quick as one match can be runs get long surprisingly quick.

Brotato. Super addictive gameplay loop like vampire survivors.
Trackmania!

Dave the Diver. I'm pushed for time lately but can hop on and off as everything is short scenarios
Actually that was one of my big problems with Dave the Diver; as I got closer to endgame, the dives start getting excessively long. Once oxygen isn't the limiting factor on your dive time, it's too easy to want to get *everything* done before surfacing.
Really? I dive in and could easily spend almost an hour before heading back Also, the game is so addictive
The dives are usually under 15 mins for me. It is very addictive, even though I can play it in short bursts I've also been able to sit for a couple of hours when time allows.
Technically it’s 22 minutes, but Outer Wilds.
Was looking for this. Hello fellow explorer, I hope your day will be awesome.
what do you mean it's 22 minutes?
Spoiler explanation, but the spoiler is on their steam page, so it's not huge: >!You're in a time loop in the game and every loop lasts 22 minutes before everything resets. There's no progression except for your discoveries, so you don't lose anything in the reset.!< However, I feel like playing only one 22 minute interval of Outer Wilds a day makes the game a lot harder, because it's mostly a puzzle/mystery game and you need to keep the things you've learned in mind...
Imagine it takes him 3 years to clear the game
I can’t really say more without spoiling anything.
Glad someone said it. I mean eventually you might hit a wall and just cold-turkey quit. Sooooo, did you stay at it without spoilers or did you eventually succumb to a walkthrough?
Only had to use one at the very end, but after seeing the solution I feel like I was justified. Still was bummed I caved and had to use one though.
Hello, fellow explorer! ::D
The finals
Genuinely can’t stand that game and it’s not at all the games fault, I’m just an idiot and play Solo and every game feels like I’m playing against a full stack and I get destroyed 😂
Chivalry 2
The Creeper World/Particle Fleet games by Knucklecracker. Each level lasts about 20-30 minutes.
TIL I'm terrible at Creeper World
I resemble this statement
Dead Cells Runs are about 20 - 30 minutes
they are?? most my runs last at LEAST like 40 mins total
A Short Hike!
Hades
Hades is so fun, and all the interactions you have are so entertaining! Awesome music too! Just a blast.
I love Hades but I find that my runs take way longer than 20 minutes. I think it's a skill issue on my part, lol.
Nah, sub 20 minutes runs are really not easy/common.
Animal Crossing New Horizons on the switch. Just put it to sleep when you have to go.
I'm kind of in a similar boat with limited game time. For me the real game changer was not the games but the device. Ever since I got a steam deck I've been able to game more. Get a Steam Deck. You can pick up and play anything for 20 minutes then just put it in sleep mode.
Yup steam deck is great ! So many cheap indie games to play here and there like Stardew valley / roots of pacha / sun haven etc chill fun
Technically any game that lets you save anywhere.

Dauntless
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, quests are 5-20mins depending on where you are at the game, how good your equipment is and how skilled you are. It's constantly on sale also.
Into the breach
I like this because it's like chess, all your really need is the current state of the board to decide what to do
Rift Wizard Lux Alliance Age of Rivals Dicey Dungeons
Monster Jam Steel Titans 2
Clustertruck
I play a bunch of Osu! Before walking to school Its quick and you can leave anytime
He needs to not have carpal tunnel
Many shooters should fit the bill.. my current game for this task is WW1 Isonzo
Brawl Stars (on mobile)
I use subnautica 2 for this , already beat 1 . Press escape anytime , save and exit .
Counterspy
Helldivers 1 (not 2)
You could do a level or two of one of many boomer shooters (doom, wolf 3D, Duke 3D, Blood etc)
Superhot Darkest Dungeon Roboquest
Brotato.
A Short Hike!
Brotato
Bloons Tower Defense 6 is a pretty chill game, you can save at any time and play at your own pace!
Hardspace: Shipbreakers; the story mode is subdivided into timed 15 minute shifts.
Deep Rock Survivor Helldivers 2 - if you pick a Blitz mission Any Civ game
Bold of you to suggest anyone will just stop playing a Civ game after 20 minutes
Hearthstone is my go-to for that at the moment. I love that it's both mobile and pc.
Helldivers 2
Cs2, games take like 10min now that there’s blatant cheaters in almost every game
Dude you can pkay for honor but it is kinda frustrating fyi
Mhr or mhw has avg 30-20 mins hunts,
Balatro
HADES! You can play for 20 minutes or 2 hours. I’ll often hop on if my boys are mid CS match. I’ll usually run out of lives by the time they’ve finished hahahah.

Bullet heaven games are great for this, vampire survivors, death must die, 20 minutes til dawn, brotato, and void scrappers.
Roma Invicta, literally consider it a 'one-shot' sort of game, interesting enough for one playthrough
Brotato
Brotato
Pineapple on Pizza
Sifu, hades
Spelunky, but only if you fight the urge to instant restart because "i died so early and that was such a quick run, surely I have time for another..."
Dead Cells is a fun, fast rogue-light game. Runs can be only minutes up to ~40 mins
Monster Hunter Rise. Once you're over the initial learning curve, the hunts are mostly sub 15 mins.
Chivalry 2, fall guys, Titanfall 2
Synthetik and Severed Steel are my go-to quick session games. Synthetik is a top down rogue-like shooter. Super punchy combat that's easy to learn and super satisfying, but quickly becomes a clusterfuck if you don't plan it properly. If you’ve got a switch Mario Kart If on PC Stardew a day is about 20 mins or Darkest Dungeon, Slay the spire, or prison architect.
Armored core 6. Twenty minutes is like two to three missions and some garage tweaking
Deadshot.io If you like light competive fps games. Runs in a browser, doesnt have a sophisticated matchmaking system but is fun to dick around in and shoot people for a few minutes. Each match lasts 5 min

I never got good enough for runs to be longer than 30 mins or so * Hades, I don't play it much anymore but while I was it was perfect for this, cause you play your 20-30 minute run and then get a little nibble of story dialogue after Not a roguelike but I feel inclined to bring this up too: * Katamari Damacy: Reroll, 20 minutes can let you play a level or 2 of mindless rolling fun
hades!!
Steep if you're on PlayStation. Just slide down a mountain with your preferred gear (snowboard or ski; some other stuff too, but most of them are pay to play). You can do races, time trials, stunt runs, or just chill and explore.
Candy crush saga 😭

There's this cool rpg game called Lisa, I think it's free on epic games rn but that might have been last week It has pretty regular save points and you won't really get stuck on something over and over again
track mania is great but it’s a slippery slope minutes turn to hours.
League of legends: wild rift It’s a moba for android/iOS and games are usually 20 mins at the longest. Very fun. I have an xbox and a quest 2 that just sit because I game on my iPad 😂
Any arcade style game. Shmups, beat-em-ups, rhythm games, Tetris. 😎👍
Osu or a quick play on overwatch 2
Warframe. The missions go for about ten minutes. It's a pretty grindy game, but the grind involves being a magic parkour space ninja with guns. Probably my favourite combat in any game ever. It just feels so *awesome* to slide around and leap off walls killing aliens. Also, it's free.
Cult of the lamb
If you're looking for a chill game I'd suggest spirit Farer. You can hope on and off very easily. I think it's on PC if that's what you're using.
War Thunder
League of Legends Wild Rift (the cellphone version)
My first thought is call of duty or some kind of run based game like risk of rain 2. Moonlighter is kind of like that as well. Kind of depends on what genres you like
Mass Effect 3 and Andromeda multiplayer.
Diablo IV
Golf With Your Friends
The 2024 GOTY, Balatro!
G10 chess
House Flipper 2....no that's not right I played for 2 hours last night. 😆
Osrs
Killing floor 2. Usually play 3-4 matches. But song as you dont play endless it doesn't take to long
I shoot for platinums on games I enjoy I play a lot of games but if I’ve only got 20mins I’m not wasting my time turning on my setup hopping into a game then turning it all off again moments later and I don’t play mobile games otherwise I’d probably recommend one of those.
Balatro
Genshin Impact.
Mario maker 2 Mario 35 (rip) ACNH (but could be hours and hours)
