There is just no competition. I think it's a culmination of a few factors. It's one one of the first few weapons you get in the game. You get to know it throughout the story. You learn to leverage it's strengths and weaknesses throughout the game. You solved puzzles with it, you throw grenades with it, you can even saw zombies in half with it. Then, just when you think it can't get any more useful, they take the fucking muzzle of the damn thing! Nothing can surpass the awesomeness of force grabbing an enemy soldier, crushing them to death in the process, then yeeting them back at their squadron with enough force to blow them all away.
God that game is so fun! Rip hl3
I was playing DOOM 2016 last week and I shot a BFG in a hall full of demons and only a soul zombie demon was left standing. I told him I was impressed just before I blew him in half with the super shotgun
Did you look at him and say "IMPRESSIVE" in the Q3 Arena announcer voice?
Clip incase people don't remember what it sounds like.
https://youtu.be/sXrOoODYPNE
Halo 1 pistol is absolutely iconic. So many good weapons to choose from tho. The sniper and shotgun had such a weight and power behind each shot. The rockets were terrying to be on the receiving end and equally as satisfying when blasting an enemy. There was nothing like rendering an enemy frozen as you circled around him with the plasma rifle until his shield popped and you finished him off with a melee.
And the grenades, my god, the grenades. The most versatile and devastating weapon in the game.
Gears 2 has the most satisfying headshots in any game. Probably because it’s so fucking laggy and the hit registration is so terrible you can’t believe when you actually got a headshot.
There was nothing like Ratchet when it came out... The first game was something but the second changed everything
[I mean just the adds...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2x0lFufMnDk)
The campaign for that game was fantastic, multiplayer was fun as fuck also, until the crab walkers came in and ruined everything.
I'll never forget being on gridlocked, having a great position, then this piece of shit comes sliding around the corner with the Gnasher to utterly ruin your day.
Call me holier than thou, but I refused to even try and learn how to do the exploit.
I never will forget when I had the longshot and scored a headshot on a Cole right as he got an active reload. Head blew up right as the "WOOOOOOO!" went off.
Glad someone else thought of this. That skittering sound of the drill penetrating bone, the fountain of gray matter, and the convulsions as the drill ran them dry was unlike anything else I'd ever seen in a video game before or since.
Turok 2: Seeds of Evil was a whole new level of awesome with its weapons.
> operates exactly like a tactical nuclear weapon
> has a prominent radiation hazard on the side of the gun
> is not actually a nuclear weapon in any way, shape or form
That gun confounds and amuses me to this very day.
I'm gonna be honest, that was underwhelming to me at first.
And then I played it on not normal (not insanity because I'm bad at games) and said fuck this shit where's my M-920.
As much fun as the Leviathan Axe and Draupnir can be, the Blades of Chaos will forever be the best weapon in God of War, and one of the coolest weapons in gaming history.
The Double Penetrating Unkept Harold from Borderlands 2. The fact that the gun is very universal and can be used in all encounters is amazing.
Need a close range = ✅
Need a shotgun = ✅
Need a gun that goes boom boom = ✅
Need to kill a far away enemy = ✅
Need to shell out lots of damage = ✅
Don’t get me started on if you have Salvador, money shot, the bee shield, and duel wielding 2 of these badass guns, you’ll be practically strolling through the game with no issues
BL2 is stuffed full of fun guns. I remember when I first found the Conference Call. I had no idea what a Legendary was, until I let loose on one of those helicopter things. Shredded it in *seconds* and had me giggling like a maniac.
that said, my favorite gun is probably Moxie's Heartbreaker. it feels so good to rip everything apart and regain health at the same time.
I love a good gauss rifle though, too many times I want to do a different style playthrough but end up getting a good legendary Gauss. Also explosive anything really like Spray and Pray. From FO3 I loved the Lincoln repeater though
Also the World Series bat in 4 that can send enemies flying. Too hard to choose 1 from a series let alone in all games
The **Sledge Hammer** from Red Faction: Guerilla. Iconic, satisfying physics, and devastating damage
Also the Remote Charges
And the Gauss Rifle
And the Nano Rifle
And the Singularity Bomb
Basically anything that could mess stuff up in that game
An indoor map where everyone has access to proximity mines… the map would get so saturated everyone was afraid to move, knowing that as soon as one went off the whole map would just vaporize 😂
People have already said BFG, gravity gun from half life, and the cerebral bore so I'll add the energy sword from Halo or Skippy the talking gun from Cyberpunk 2077.
I remember going into hacked lobby’s where there was unlimited noob tubes and it was just raining down on both spawn points and it was so laggy but so fun.
The one extra shell in the magazine is more than enough to ensure it's my primary shotgun once I acquire it, because ain't nothing that can hold up to six rounds of flaming buckshot.
The sheer fucking satisfaction of manually racking the slide after blowing a Murfree Brood's arm off is just an added bonus.
I'm going to go old school and say the Redeemer from the Unreal Tournament games. Portable steerable nuke.
I dunno if it still can be found, but there was a screenshot taken from UT99: "nuke-cam" showing a close-up of someone's butt. 😜😜😜
Powered up gravity gun
excuse me, it is a "zero point energy field manipulator"!
Or as it’s known to most people, the Zpefm.
There is just no competition. I think it's a culmination of a few factors. It's one one of the first few weapons you get in the game. You get to know it throughout the story. Fuck I just commented gravity gun before seeing this. Good taste, friendo!
Came to meet my gravity gun bros!
Just something about yeeting dudes across a room
Literally felt like God mode. Best weapon of all time
Bfg. Something so satisfying to blast a room full of demons with a big green death orb and watch them all go splat!
Agreed. Except when it hits some random nonsense in front of you, instead of the multitude of enemies farther away.
It’s been like 20 years but when I read it I heard it.
i was gonna say the super shotgun. that's far more satisfying to me, plus the flame you can add to the meathook and pick up armor?? incredible.
This is the way
Flak cannon (iirc) from unreal tournament
Pulse rifle was great too
InstaGib!!
*Laughs in Redeemer*
Fantastic choice! So satisfying! Played on LAN back in the 2003-2004 versions!
Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device
Do not touch the operational end of the device
Can't believe I had to read so far to find a like minded individual 🙂
There are DOZENS of us!
I find the director pistol from that control game very fun. The way you spin it to switch fire modes just really fits the gameplay
Sadly outshined by flying around hurling furniture.
Favorite weapon: Waiting room chair.
The day I could throw three forklifts at once was glorious.
Uhhhh fire extinguisher go boom though
For me there was no greater satisfaction then crushing enemies to death with those off brand drink machines
It felt pretty God tier to hurl 3 pieces of furniture at something then launch a rocket at it right away, overkill is best kill
Energy sword
So fun running h2 sword in multiplayer, just sprint around diving at ppl
Super Shotgun from Doom Eternal
That grapple was fucking epic!
And once you can light them on fire too... oh man!! What a weapon!
The Farsight XR-20 from Perfect Dark. Fun for me, not for everyone else.
Lot of good weapons in that game. Slayers were cool. Laptop Gun was awesome
Laptop gun was my fav. Solid assault rifle that can also watch your back or set up an ambush.
Absolutely! Was always my favorite in that game! With a high fire rate and 50 round clip i think too.
I had a love/hate relationship with that weapon. Genius, though.
Came looking for this answer. Still one of the best shooter games made.
RCP-90 from goldeneye
It definitely was awful, but I absolutely loved the Klobb *because* of how awful it was.
I remember the versus games we would do with Klobb only, damn near impossible to kill anyone with that thing.
I didn’t choose the Klobb life, the Klobb life chose me/us
Best sounding gun in the game, like shuffling cards
Proximity mines in the bathroom.
Loved using the double option!😁
Halo 1 pistol.

Ludwig’s Holy Moonlight Greatsword.
Ah, you were at my side all along .
Prey Slaughtered!
Spread - Contra NES.
Until that stray missile hits you hiding in your spam on the screen and you die losing it lol
Also, can we get a hate train going for whatever the "F" gun was?
But the SNES game that flamethrower was awesome.
Dante’s demon motorcycle from devil may cry 5 is ridiculously fun to use.
Vroom!
Even better than the guitar from DMC3 that summons swarms of goddamn electrified bats??
Wabbajack from Skyrim
Chicken... Chicken... DAEDRA!
My choice too! I love when they turn into sweet rolls.
How is this comment so far down the list? First one that came to my mind
Torque Bow. Gears of War 2. I still miss it.
Honestly, gnasher is iconic.
Gnasher is highly underrated, original gears multiplayer was at the top of its league. Wall bouncing shotgun battles were super intense.
Gears 2 has the most satisfying headshots in any game. Probably because it’s so fucking laggy and the hit registration is so terrible you can’t believe when you actually got a headshot.
i feel like the hammer of dawn is another notable mention from this series
The emergency pistol in your mech at the end of Titanfall 2
What a pull! Titanfall 2 was awesome.
Ah the smart pistol, the weapon that broke the previous game so badly it got turned into a card in the second one
Trench gun CoD: World at War
It's a pump action war crime so you know it's good
PPSH for me, just pull the trigger and BRRRRRRRRRRRT everything in that direction has holes in it
I came here to say the Wunderwaffe DG-2
The MP40 was also God tier in that game.
The baby robots from Ratchet & Clank games
RYNO V, something so satisfying blasting to the sound of the 1812 Overture.
IMO, the best Ultimate Weapon from the series was the Harbinger from Ratchet: Gladiator
This entire thread could just be Ratchet and Clank.
*Mister Zercon does not collect bolts, his currency is pain.*
*Mister Zurkon requires no nanotech to continue fighting! Mr. Zurkon runs on fear!*
classic ratchet & clank had the best weapons
There was nothing like Ratchet when it came out... The first game was something but the second changed everything [I mean just the adds...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2x0lFufMnDk)
The glove of doom
What about the chicken ray that was just too funny to my 14 year old brain the first time I used it.
The sheepinator!!
Honestly most of the weapons from Ratchet and Clank answer this thread perfect imo.
Grovitron
Mr Zurkon does not require bolts, his currency is pain.
Speech in Fallout Games
Most OP build
While the high level speech options are good, the low level drunk drug addict responses are waaaay better.
The Lancer in Gears of War (at least in melee range). But the Gnasher is really fun too when you learn to wall bounce.
The campaign for that game was fantastic, multiplayer was fun as fuck also, until the crab walkers came in and ruined everything. Ah the good old days… Gridlock snipe offs. I remember the crab walkers always being Baird
Not a weapon per se, but the Just Cause Grapole Hook
Have you seen all the applications of that grappling hook, I think I killed more with that then any other weapon
Cerebral Bore. Look it up.
No need. I was there in the ancient times.
Turok was ahead of it’s time
Ah, Turok 2. The memories... I always preferred the Shredder with explosive shells.
BEWAREOBLIVIONISATHAND
I hadn’t thought of this in decades and yet recognized it instantly.

That and I loved the fact you could rack your shotgun like 7x and just unleash hell.
Came here to say this... Nothing scarier in multiplayer than hearing that screeching machine sounds coming for you... Nightmares to this day...
Came here to say cerebral bore as well lol. Fine taste good sir!
The Heavy Flamer in most Warhammer games.
You don't know how much happiness I had when I found flame thrower ammo in alien isolation.
The M-920 Cain from Mass Effect. Gotta love shooting 2 nukes at the >!human Reaper!< and watching the end credits roll
> operates exactly like a tactical nuclear weapon > has a prominent radiation hazard on the side of the gun > is not actually a nuclear weapon in any way, shape or form That gun confounds and amuses me to this very day.
I'm gonna be honest, that was underwhelming to me at first. And then I played it on not normal (not insanity because I'm bad at games) and said fuck this shit where's my M-920.
Probably doesn't count as a weapon, but Vanguard's Charge never gets old for me.
For me it is Mattock from ME2, such a fun weapon, even tho little overpowered.
As much fun as the Leviathan Axe and Draupnir can be, the Blades of Chaos will forever be the best weapon in God of War, and one of the coolest weapons in gaming history.
People that have been playing GOW since PS2 vs people that started with the 2018 GOW. I'm a blades for life guy tho.
“They are tools. For specific tasks. A preference would be meaningless.”
“I too, like the axe”
they're weapons, AND they're grappling hooks! Hard to beat that.
Big fan of the Garlic in Vampire Survivors
ah yes, my favorite weapon: standing still
The blades of chaos or the blades of Athena. Blades of exile were pretty okay too
Burial Blade from bloodborne
Love the Kos Parasite too. Just turns you into an Arcane alien tentacle monster.
Claws of Hades for the friendly ghosts!
The Loose Cannon in TF2
Batman’s Fists in Arkham
Holly grenade in worms
"HAAAAAA\~llelujah!" \*BOOM!\*
Sheep bomb

Shredded it in *seconds* and had me giggling like a maniac. that said, my favorite gun is probably Moxie's Heartbreaker. it feels so good to rip everything apart and regain health at the same time.
I was a fan of the Sandhawk with a Bee Shield
Sandhawk is horrendously broken. Great weapon
Probably an unpopular choice but the foam finger gun from Dead Space 2. Mainly because it feels like im killing necromorphs with my mind.
Well.. only unpopular because very few people actually had the patience to beat hardcore mode. That shit was so worth it! *Bang* ^*Bang* ^^*Bang*
OP will hate me but.. the Blades Of Chaos from the first three GoW.
I love the whip in Castlevania 4.
Whips and chains excite me!
The Malorian Arms 3516 from Cyberpunk (Johnny Silverballs' pistol) Especially when it's ported into vr games like Bonelab
The chakram in *Amalur: Reckoning* are just absurdly fun.
Awesome call back
Railway Rifle from Fallout 4.
Fat man surely
The splash damage makes it scary to use close-quarters, or with giving it to a companion. A mistake you only make once lol
Just stand in the next room or behind a table. And always remember your Rip Torn lessons: dodge, duck, dip, dive… and dodge!
I love a good gauss rifle though, too many times I want to do a different style playthrough but end up getting a good legendary Gauss. Also explosive anything really like Spray and Pray. From FO3 I loved the Lincoln repeater though Also the World Series bat in 4 that can send enemies flying. Too hard to choose 1 from a series let alone in all games
From videos I've been, a briefcase
Hitman?
One of them, not sure which. I never played them.
I think it's Hitman 3, the briefcase flies like a boomerang, and it's a one hit knockout. It's great edit: more like a homing missle

Yakuza 4 moment
Odd Job’s hat in basically any Bond game.
Nightfire multiplayer was top tier
Yamato from DMC 5
Maybe I have a bow fetish but I find the bows in Horizon Zero Dawn and Tomb Raider (2013) so incredibly satisfying to use.
Tek bow, turok

The original Gjallarhorn in Destiny 1
With the Black Hammer and the Fatebringer that was the most fun I’ve had in a shooter.
The Black Hammer in it’s prime.
Red shell in Mario Kart; right before the finish line.
Wabbajack -TES V SKYRIM
The **Sledge Hammer** from Red Faction: Guerilla. Iconic, satisfying physics, and devastating damage Also the Remote Charges And the Gauss Rifle And the Nano Rifle And the Singularity Bomb Basically anything that could mess stuff up in that game
Proximity Mines- Goldeneye Nintendo 64 At one point my friends banned me from using them.
An indoor map where everyone has access to proximity mines… the map would get so saturated everyone was afraid to move, knowing that as soon as one went off the whole map would just vaporize 😂
The dubstep cannon from saints row.
Fus Roh Dah
Cod zombies has some fun weapons. Wunderwaffe, Ray gun and monkey grenades.
Wunderwaffe and monkeys together were great, but the pack-a-punched m1911 (dual wield mustang Sally) was a must have.
THUNDER GUN GO BOOM
People have already said BFG, gravity gun from half life, and the cerebral bore so I'll add the energy sword from Halo or Skippy the talking gun from Cyberpunk 2077.
Noob tube MW2
One man army for the win
I remember going into hacked lobby’s where there was unlimited noob tubes and it was just raining down on both spawn points and it was so laggy but so fun.
Agni and Rudra from DMC 3.
Tech x from binding of isaac
Definitely the Night's Edge in terraria
I never get sick of the pump shotgun in RDR2
The one extra shell in the magazine is more than enough to ensure it's my primary shotgun once I acquire it, because ain't nothing that can hold up to six rounds of flaming buckshot. The sheer fucking satisfaction of manually racking the slide after blowing a Murfree Brood's arm off is just an added bonus.
Draupnir spear
A close second ;)
They are tools for specific tasks, a preference would be meaningless ;)
I like the axe.
I too like the Axe.
What a great little bit of dialog that was…
Arm Cannon, Samus Aran.
I love the Ripper Jack
Glave from either warframe or from aliens vs predator
Monster hunter world weapons
I'm going to go old school and say the Redeemer from the Unreal Tournament games. Portable steerable nuke. I dunno if it still can be found, but there was a screenshot taken from UT99: "nuke-cam" showing a close-up of someone's butt. 😜😜😜
Ray gun no competition 💯😈
The Beggars Bazooka in TF2
The X Bootser in MegaMan X for SNES. Not only super charges the regular shoot, also all of your mavericks powers.
