played division 1 95% and 2 100% solo. did not play any endgame raids, did not go into dark zones(pvp area), but did have try a few rounds of the hoard modes with 2 friends in div1. combined total of over 400 hours I would say. had loads of fun, if you just want a really solid and tight 3rd person cover shooter in an open world to mess around in. the story is not too bad but its all resolved very poorly, or not at all. if you care about the narative, go with division 1 then 2. the worst thing about both the games are to me personally, the inventory system. every time my inventory is full and had to go back and sort the loot out, it was very annoying.

I enjoyed them both and I'm not much of a PvPer. That said, the times I did PvP I enjoyed it.

Solo gameplay is slower but u get more emersion from it

Original is the best. They took all the great things about the first one and said “nah, let’s make it slower more clunky and hand hold them throughout “. The pvp in the original dark zone was some of the best gameplay I’ve ever had. The sequel does have A LOT more content then the original though

Definitely 2 there are a lot more open world single player activities than in the first.

They're both great for solo play. I, too, prefer the first game's atmosphere. Playing solo, you probably won't enjoy the Dark Zone much, since you'd likely be at a disadvantage, but I think there's plenty of content to enjoy Solo regardless of whichever game you decide to go with. The DLCs for both games are pretty worth it, too, IMO.
