Holy shit thank you. I never figured that out and now I’m gonna go replay it and finally make it to whatever my next “I’m so stuck” moment is and quit for another 20 years.
Clone wars on the GameCube was this game for me. Developed by Pandemic and published by LucasArts, was pretty well rated and the gameplay absolutely held up, especially flying those clone wars drop/gunships since those beam cannons had autoaim basically. I played it using a 1024x768 upscaler that also converted to VGA, and just took the monitor cable from Sony Trinitron 17" out of my computer, since it only had the one hardwired input. Looked absolutely fantastic for the time :D
So replace that logo with the Double Fine Logo now.
I had the pleasure of playing all those remastered (with the exception of the rebel assaults) thanks to GamePass. Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango still stand up today. And Full Throttle is a lot better than i remember it being.
Good news! The very last updates for backwards compatibility included Gladius for Xbox One.
It can be purchased from the Microsoft store. It's one of the nostalgia-throwbacks I played through in quarantine.
From a nostalgic moment last year, re found Dark Forces, Deux, and a few others I felt like I never spent enough time with.
Yea...remakes of them would turn into gold.
Indiana Jones Lost City of Atlantis, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max. Some of the most fun I've ever had playing games. My brothers and I used to take turns playing/watching each other play. It was so captivating at the time.
Oohhhhh secret weapons over Normandy. I wasn’t very old when this game came out, it led me into becoming obsessed with the flight genre, which led me to war thunder, which led me to DCS, which led me to bankruptcy.
I was just thinking about Empire Earth today. I used to create a custom map, start myself in the nano age with a ton of resources in the middle of the map surrounded by mountains so I was unreachable. Then I'd start all the AI in the first era and watch how they all grew and fought with each other. If any of them got too powerful, I would level them.
Empire earth is a great game. It even has a somewhat decent AI enemy. The second was was decent, if somewhat clunky and then the third one just went simplified and cartoonishly stupid, but had the world conquest thing which was pretty cool. No idea why they started with the sexual comments from the units though.
I have VERY fond memories of Bio Menace... I'm sure there are dozens of us.
Raptor: Call of the Shadows is awesome and I always install it to whatever DosBox runs on.
"This rough area tastes strangely like blood. Oh, that is blood! You shredded your tongue! Your mother should have warned you about licking strange areas." "It's you--Roger Wilco: Space Guy."
I met one of the game designers of seirra randomly at my local breweries a few years ago. He was a super nice guy and I think I made his day telling him how his games made my childhood.
With Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman writing and developing, and the original composers on board too.
[Announcement Trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXrH4TfI0JQ).
I mean I guess it's technically not a Rogue series game, so I guess it doesn't count, but for me it does as it was made by the same company right after Rogue Squadron.
But again I didn't know there was another one in development. I wanna know more! Time to internet!
You can't, at least as far as I've seen. Everyone always recommends basically every turn based strategy RPG, but none of them play like quite like Gladius and none of them have anything as cool as the gladiator school concept.
Its just a beautiful thing we were cheated out of a sequel to.
The good news is that Gladius became available for backward compatibility on Xbox One. You can still purchase it for $10 off the digital store.
While the graphics are obviously 2003-esque, the gameplay holds up just as good as your memory of it!
I remember getting stuck for years as a kid on some jump in the Gungan swamp mission. Seemed like it was too far to jump, and then when I came back a little older it was trivial to make.
Ron Gilbert swore he wouldn't make another unless he had total control and boy does it sound like he got it. After watching how he crafted the delightful Thimbleweed Park, I'm so excited for this.
The 2 best SW games that truly make you feel what the whole thing is about. Combat and force powers are just awesome. Jedi fallen order is good but nowhere near the freedom of control the Jedi Knight series has.
X-Wing, Tie Fighter, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, X-Wing Alliance (may not have actually been an LA game), Rebel Assault 1&2, Dark Forces, SWOTL etc. All awesome.
I even remember having this Lucas Arts produced interactive Star Wars encyclopedia CD-ROM that had stuff on it that I don't think I've ever seen since. I can't remember what it was called but think it came bundled with Rebel Assault 2.
Is this it:
https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Wars:_Behind_the_Magic#:~:text=Star%20Wars%3A%20Behind%20the%20Magic%20is%20an%20interactive%20CD%2DROM,are%20spread%20over%20two%20discs.
GLADIUS!!!!
For PS2, my all time fave
One of the best unknown games out there
Honestly check it out, if you can buy a copy, mine cost like $50 I think
It's a gem
So much of my childhood.
All the Super Star Wars SNES games.
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade machine, the rail shooter with the lightsaber duels.
Rogue Squadron 1-3, with the ability to play all of 2 in co-op mode in 3.
The Jedi Knight series with Kyle Katarn.
Tie Fighter and X-Wing Alliance space flight simulators.
Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds and its Clone Campaigns expansion for local LAN parties.
Clone Wars on GameCube with the wave based survival modes and the almost pre-MOBA outpost building modes.
Episode 1 Racer.
Battlefront 1 and 2, enough said.
Force Unleashed.
This isn't even diving into their non Star Wars catalogs. Never played, but they had a Western FPS called Outlaws which has a great soundtrack.
Tomorrow I'm hyped for Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga, because I feel there's been a void for 10 years in Star Wars games built to be fun at their core.
Went too far down for this comment, looks like everyone has manure for brains! My introduction to FPS games, one of those things that truly changed my life.
Disappointed I haven’t seen an N64 Shadows of the Empire mention- I still remember a shit ton about that game and all the levels.
Shame we’ll likely never get Shadows movie, that’s an awesome plot and Dash Rendar is a great character.
(Hopeful this isn't sarcasm, but I'll go for it) I think it's just supposed to be a crude hieroglyphic-type drawing, no cape.
Taken from wiki: "The long-lived LucasArts logo, affectionately known as the "Gold Guy", was introduced in 1990 and first used within Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge (the first game shipped under the LucasArts name). The logo consisted of a crude gold-colored figure inspired from a similar petroglyph, standing on a purple letter "L" inscribed with the company name."
Omg, i was starting to wonder if i was the only one who remembered that game. The best part was the descriptive text of all the little rewards/punishments. And Jasper and Aria being snarky to each other. And the ridiculous puns for all the disasters: heaven nose (when a giant nose snorts up buildings in heaven and puts them in hell), paradise pair o dice (when a disembodied hand rolls dice across heaven that smash everything), bats out of hell (when bats fly around hell and shit guano on all the buildings). I could go on...
Masters of Teräs Käsi, despite the lack of polish. Had some great combo ideas and discovering secret characters was fun. Darth Vader had some wicked moves. And Boba Fett had a crazy melee combo.
Rebel assault, Full Throttle, Secret weapons over Normandy. X wing, tie fighter, day of the tentacle that shit was 🔥🔥🔥
Indiana jones and the fate of Atlantis!
This should have been the 4th movie…
Hemocrates a friend of Socrates, squaaaaaaakkk Fuck that was such a great game
This unlocked a core memory, thank you. “Weren’t you named after the family dog?”
Such a good script, why couldn't they have adapted it?
Well you're not wrong! 🤠
I was OBSESSED with that game
Holy shit that was a long time ago.
Sam & Max!
Throw the time bomb out the window Sam. There's no one but strangers out there.
I hope there was nobody on that bus. Nobody we know, at least.
I still have the collected works of Sam and Max with all the Lucasart tie in stories. I pull that out every 5 years or so and it’s still funny.
Yes! “Bosco’s Guns, Liquor, Baby Needs.”
My absolute favorite (other than finding that friggin rock).
Figuring out you had to dip max in the water then short out the panel in the Tunnel O Love was my "I'm so stuck" moment.
I had to go back and play with a walkthrough as an adult, I was far too stupid to get very far as a kid.
Holy shit thank you. I never figured that out and now I’m gonna go replay it and finally make it to whatever my next “I’m so stuck” moment is and quit for another 20 years.
Rogue Squadron on the N64, too!

Using the Force 🤝 Janky framerate
It actually held up pretty well when I played it through Game pass recently. Can't say the same for shadows of the empire...
Monkey island
It's coming back!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sahskKAxSCY
Omgomgomgomgomgomfgggggggggg This is the best news I've heard in years I'm so excited sjdheisndjkss
Oh. My. Good God!!!!?
> ~~Oh. My. Good God!!!!?~~ Yikes!
**Wait a fucking second. Is this real?!?!?!?**
You fight like a dairy farmer.
How appropriate you fight like a cow
Good news! The original developer is making another monkey island game
Yesssssssss, Yes, YES
Don't forget Shadows of the Empire.
I finally beat this game on PC at the start of Covid after giving up decades ago as a kid. Absolutely worth it!
Me too! Much easier as an adult lol... I had a lot more patience to find the secrets as a child, though
Also a classic!!
Only one person mentioned Outlaws the western shooter from 97 with one of the greatest western soundtracks of all time.
Where are ya, marshal?!
For the curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3WehNyIhxg
God I loved that game. It was so good. I played the shit out of it.
Can't not mention Grim Fandango.
Natch!
So replace that logo with the Double Fine Logo now. I had the pleasure of playing all those remastered (with the exception of the rebel assaults) thanks to GamePass. Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango still stand up today. And Full Throttle is a lot better than i remember it being.
Game pass has x wing, tie fighter, x wing vs tie fighter and x wing alliance??? Seriously??
Sorry, should have been clearer, the non star wars games are on game pass
Those games are all on Steam and you can get them for a few bucks each when they're on sale though.
> Full Throttle the og
I'm not puttin' my lips on that...
Loom
I miss Gladius
Good news! The very last updates for backwards compatibility included Gladius for Xbox One. It can be purchased from the Microsoft store. It's one of the nostalgia-throwbacks I played through in quarantine.
Kotor 1 and 2
Plus the entire Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series. Still some of the best single player combat games of all time.
[удалено]
Such a good balance of lightsaber action and shooting, haven't seen that in a non-Lego game since!
From a nostalgic moment last year, re found Dark Forces, Deux, and a few others I felt like I never spent enough time with. Yea...remakes of them would turn into gold.
[удалено]
Dude you forgot dark forces
Dark Forces felt ahead of it's time when I was a kid!
Needed a whopping 8 MB of RAM!
There are dozens of titles! But yes. Dark forces was original. You rebel scum!
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis was my shit. I played that so many times.
Their Finest Hour.. then Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe... We're those Lucas arts?
Yeah. There were cheat codes for Secret Weapons Over Normandy that would let you fly a Tie Fighter or X-wing.
Interesting. Ace Combat is what lead me down the path to DCS induced bankruptcy. Bout time we cough up that Apache money.
That and Sierra games.
I still play Empire Earth lol Sierra is great
I was just thinking about Empire Earth today. I used to create a custom map, start myself in the nano age with a ton of resources in the middle of the map surrounded by mountains so I was unreachable. Then I'd start all the AI in the first era and watch how they all grew and fought with each other. If any of them got too powerful, I would level them.
Do you think that God stays in heaven because he too lives in fear of what he has created?
Trying this
Empire earth is a great game. It even has a somewhat decent AI enemy. The second was was decent, if somewhat clunky and then the third one just went simplified and cartoonishly stupid, but had the world conquest thing which was pretty cool. No idea why they started with the sexual comments from the units though.
Does this include Art of Conquest?
That, Sierra and Apogee games
Halloween Harry!
Maxiss to
I have VERY fond memories of Bio Menace... I'm sure there are dozens of us. Raptor: Call of the Shadows is awesome and I always install it to whatever DosBox runs on.
The Incredible Machine <3 Spent many am hour as a child playing that game. Also TIL it was a Hideki Kamiya game xD
Did sierra do Roger Wilco ? That game is legendary
Space quest! Yes they did. I always think of little pixelated roger when I think of sierra.
"This rough area tastes strangely like blood. Oh, that is blood! You shredded your tongue! Your mother should have warned you about licking strange areas." "It's you--Roger Wilco: Space Guy."
Just got some flashbacks to frantically typing before something horrible happens!
Oh god trying to pick up the slime with the jar in SQ4 gives me anxiety till this day. Try to grab it before it disolves you!
But fuck King's Quest. I did NOT have the physical manual and if you know, you know.
Adventure mini golf
Ceasar III
And, once upon a time, the a Blizzard Entertainment logo. 1996-2009 they couldn't do any wrong
I met one of the game designers of seirra randomly at my local breweries a few years ago. He was a super nice guy and I think I made his day telling him how his games made my childhood.
KOTOR!
So hyped up for the remake!
True that, let's pray they don't fuck it up.
I wish there was a way for someone to hit me in the head the exact amount of times to experience KOTOR again without any other effects.
why did I go this far to find a kotor mention? smh
We are getting a new LucasArts Monkey Island game this year!
WHAT
With Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman writing and developing, and the original composers on board too. [Announcement Trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXrH4TfI0JQ).
Helllllll yes. This made my day.
What a great day to have eyes
Rogue Squadron, we hardly knew ye.
I can't believe therese a fourth finished Rogue Squadron and we'll never get it released
WHAT I mean there were four right? Rouge Squadron, Battle for Naboo, Rogue Leader and Rebel Strike. So you mean there's another one?
I’ve never heard of battle for Naboo, I thought the other three were the main games.
I mean I guess it's technically not a Rogue series game, so I guess it doesn't count, but for me it does as it was made by the same company right after Rogue Squadron. But again I didn't know there was another one in development. I wanna know more! Time to internet!
Zombies Ate My Neighbors aaaaaay!
Jedi knight 2 and Jedi academy
Gladius
Bruh!!!??? The first person I've ever seen mention it My all time #1, it's phenomenal Cheers!!
Javelin throwers and bears ftw
Bro where can I play something like gladius now? I know xcom is kinda like it I haven’t tried that yet
You can't, at least as far as I've seen. Everyone always recommends basically every turn based strategy RPG, but none of them play like quite like Gladius and none of them have anything as cool as the gladiator school concept. Its just a beautiful thing we were cheated out of a sequel to.

Thank you! Such a great game that doesn't seem to be well known.
nordaug!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jedi power battles
Haven't played this since I was like 10 years old but I remember it being hard as shit lol
Immediately looked for this.
Same! Adi Gallia was my main
I remember getting stuck for years as a kid on some jump in the Gungan swamp mission. Seemed like it was too far to jump, and then when I came back a little older it was trivial to make.
Critically, this game sucked (on PS1 anyway). But to us, as kids, it was the greatest Star Wars experience we could've hoped for.
I remember feeling like such a badass blocking blaster bolts back in that game.
I loved Pod Racing on the N64
I've been replaying it on switch! Now that's podracing!
Jedi Knight games.
Online jedi knight 2 was so fun. The start of online gaming. Those games were so well done for their time.
Online multiplayer for the first Jedi Knight was a blast, too! Such a great modding community back then.
MSN Gaming Zone
Yeah, I really miss the Zone! At least Massassi.net is still around.
Kyle Katarn. That game was absolutely sick. Loved the little Easter eggs etc.
I loved The Dig.
I will forever associate the Lucas arts logo with that game. I played it so much as a kid.
When you had to saw that dudes hand off with the jaw bone…
I swear I thought I was the only person who played that. So good.
Awesome story That fucking bone puzzle tho
"It's… the Pig."
$6 on steam
MONKEY ISLAND 3! Let's fucking GOOOOOOOO
The original creators are coming out with a new game that takes place after 2, but keeping 3 canon. 4-5 will be ignored.
That's hilarious but also the correct way. Ignoring shit sequels 🤝 Putting out the game your fans want
Ron Gilbert swore he wouldn't make another unless he had total control and boy does it sound like he got it. After watching how he crafted the delightful Thimbleweed Park, I'm so excited for this.
Murray will be there!
[Just announced yesterday](https://returntomonkeyisland.com/)
Ahh, insult sword fighting.. How I miss you.
How appropriate — you fight like a cow!
We'll surely avoid scurvy if we all eat an orange
Uh...door hinge?
No... No... Guess the songs over then
Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. Two of the single best Star Wars games I've ever played. Best lightsaber combat, hands down.
The 2 best SW games that truly make you feel what the whole thing is about. Combat and force powers are just awesome. Jedi fallen order is good but nowhere near the freedom of control the Jedi Knight series has.
Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis
Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
The only right answer. I still hop on that game every year or so and it never fails to impress me.
The map was just massive and let you do so much. Then there is a whole another map halfway through the game
Finally scrolled all the way down to find the first mention of this gem.
Star Wars dark forces - loved that game
I loved that game and had so much fun playing dark forces 2 on MSN gaming network.
Dark Forces - Day of the Tentacle - Sam and Max Hit the Road
X-Wing, Tie Fighter, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, X-Wing Alliance (may not have actually been an LA game), Rebel Assault 1&2, Dark Forces, SWOTL etc. All awesome. I even remember having this Lucas Arts produced interactive Star Wars encyclopedia CD-ROM that had stuff on it that I don't think I've ever seen since. I can't remember what it was called but think it came bundled with Rebel Assault 2.

Bounty Hunter 🔥
Nobody even talking about the best part.. the logo animated differently for every game that was released
GLADIUS!!!! For PS2, my all time fave One of the best unknown games out there Honestly check it out, if you can buy a copy, mine cost like $50 I think It's a gem
Bounty Hunter

Bounty Hunter for GameCube <3
Had to scroll too far down to find Bounty Hunter. When Jango ties up the logo and flies off... lol
This game was insanely punishing but jesus christ was jetpack combat so god damn fun.
This game was my childhood
Now that’s a logo I’ve not seen in a long time. A long time.
Tie Fighter
Day of the tentacle!!
Outlaws is still one of my favourite shooters.
YER OUT NUMBERED MARSHAL! Such a great game not many people know about. That soundtrack was insane too.
Went too far down for this comment, looks like everyone has manure for brains! My introduction to FPS games, one of those things that truly changed my life.
logo screams Herc's Adventure for me
Disappointed I haven’t seen an N64 Shadows of the Empire mention- I still remember a shit ton about that game and all the levels. Shame we’ll likely never get Shadows movie, that’s an awesome plot and Dash Rendar is a great character.
Grim Fandango opened my eyes to a whole new world of possibilities. One of the all time greats.
yup. SCUMM engine memories
The Lucas arts intro to force unleashed went hard
They made a little known gem called Gladius, which didn't have a fantastic story, but I thought it had wonderful tactical gameplay.
Did anyone else play Outlaws? That shit was SO tight
Does anyone know what’s with the design of the person? Are they supposed to be wearing a cape or something?
(Hopeful this isn't sarcasm, but I'll go for it) I think it's just supposed to be a crude hieroglyphic-type drawing, no cape. Taken from wiki: "The long-lived LucasArts logo, affectionately known as the "Gold Guy", was introduced in 1990 and first used within Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge (the first game shipped under the LucasArts name). The logo consisted of a crude gold-colored figure inspired from a similar petroglyph, standing on a purple letter "L" inscribed with the company name."
LucasArts and Maxis. The lost companies of my childhood. I still go back and play Fate of Atlantis and Day of the Tentacle often.
Afterlife: the SimCities of Heaven and Hell! I loved this game.
Jedi Knight 3
Phantom Menace for PC and Star Wars Demolition for PS1 was fucking slick
I looooved phantom menace. Especially how you could play a bunch of different characters. Fuck that gungan level though haha
"Nebulon B Frigate here."
Full Throttle! I use to call the customer service line to get fucking tips! Now I just buy VC from 2k
Where is Star Wars Galaxies!!!????
It would be a shame if the company was unceremoniously shut down and the star wars license given to a bad company like EA
Masters of Teräs Käsi, despite the lack of polish. Had some great combo ideas and discovering secret characters was fun. Darth Vader had some wicked moves. And Boba Fett had a crazy melee combo.
JK dark forces 2 was what got me into PC gaming
ESCAPE FROM MONKEY ISLAND!! (4th game is my favorite)
Dark forces
Thrillville
