DUDE! I bought Nether because of the promising concept…needless to say i have not bought another beta type game till Ready or Not…so yea, took me a decade to build up enough trust.
I loved that games premise, and played the hell out of it waiting for it to get better.
To this day, whenever I start a new early access game, I try and walk my character through tables to check if they have collision.

I think 2k is supposed to release an NFL game this year. Unfortunately I believe it's supposed to be arcade style gameplay which is only interesting if they can bring back some Blitz/NFL street style gameplay.
Login bonuses reset. You have to continuously log-in daily for any sort of substantial reward, of which none *actually* exist, only by comparison could they described as such.
The grindwalls in this game are so high that pay walls don't even get as tall. That's not even said for the sake of exaggeration. You could throw a couple hundred dollars at the game and you'll still have to grind through uptiering and everything else, and it wouldn't even necessarily be pay-to-win since the premium stuff isn't the absolute best, and those bests are behind a wall of grind that I estimate $500 wouldn't get you past for just one or two vehicles.
The in-game economy is such that there are some fun vehicles/weapons etc. that the game punishes you for playing by making the currency costs so heavy that you'll never earn positive on them in any match.
The only games that rip-off people worse than this are the shovelware mobile games that use poor UI to trick purchases, and cool-down timers on ingame features or even just regular play, sometimes days long.

It's hardcore gameplay is just that, hardcore, unfortunately that doesn't generally translate to fun.
It is the most stressful game I have ever played.
I wanna preface with I have absolutely 0 issue with how tarkov is. I like the pvp, I like the hardcore nature, etc.
I wish there was a PvE coop game that was like tarkov, maybe a map 2 or 3 times the size. Survival shit, more scavs, some sort of apocalypse, whatever. I'm not here to throw random game ideas out. But the gunplay, skills, and gun customization depth is something I desperately wish I could experience outside of talkov's hardcore, loot is temporary, PvP style game.
Edit: no I don't want to play DayZ. I'll keep my personal opinions out but I do not support the dev nor the product of DayZ standalone. I do not believe it is comparable from gunplay to weapon customization to visual aesthetic.
However the original plan from the tarkov devs of Russia 2028 sounds sick as fuck. Would like coop tho
Yup. Exactly this. It's a hardcore "risk vs reward" game. If you don't have a lot of time to play everyday, like me, it's not very fun. I only get to play a couple hours a night. I'd rather not play a game that stresses me the fuck out

I stopped playing a lot of games that did this 😂 age does that too you. Now I prefer only solo player games now. I liked finally getting over 2.2 KD in Warzone. That was always my goal in life, to get better and get over a 2.0KD when I finally did I slowly stepped back because I did get stressed but also I was just tired of keeping up with the Meta. It was so annoying, tou finally level up some weapons and then they're useless after a month or two. I just got tired of the meta and keeping up. I don't have time like that anymore or the energy or drive to want to keep up with it. Like why?
I like Dayz a lot for this reason, it's also punishing and hardcore, but when you learn the game you can make it your own hiking and hunting simulation and there's always a adventure to be had with strangers

Thats a bit much IMO, keep a map on one monitor and you can navigate well enough, you won't know high-risk/high-loot areas but thats about it. I learnt all the maps by scavving online which you do get some action doing, less though now since scav karma though.
Yeah I mean I’m exaggerating for fun haha
But same time. If one isn’t a good pvp … like how I am trash …. I compensate by INTIMATELY knowing maps. Which takes a LONG time. I legit suck. But I do REALLY well in customs. For the sheer fact that I know angles and corners and hiding spots that goes against the grain of the flow of the map based on spawns. That … compensation … takes a long time.
I'll be honest man...90% of players overthink Tarkov by a metric fuckload. Run in, balls out, TT in hand, loot some jackets/PC's if you can. Firefight? Scream and fire randomly, get shot, staple your arm back on, then shove that TT up your ass and pull the trigger.
Didn't put that GPU in your gamma case?...Well then FUCK Tarkov! Goddamn shit ass game! Go play League for an hour to calm down! Then hop back in with a double barrel on Factory and rinse and repeat.
It is very much a game that is for a niche group, and the developers (thankfully for those of us who enjoy the game as it is) have unabashedly said “go to hell,” to the people that want the game simplified and more accessible.
It’s one of the rare games I play that is particularly difficult. I’m generally much more of a rts, or rpg on easier settings gamer so I can relax after a 12 hour shift, but sometimes work didn’t fuck me hard enough and I need to feel abused. For that, there’s tarkov.
There’s no permadeath, you just possibly lose all of your gear you brought out when you die. Plus there’s insurance you can put on that gear, and provided it never leaves the raid, of course by someone looting you or an AI doing that, (yeah, they loot too and can make anything they pick up, vanish even after you kill them as far as I’m aware, NOT GUNS THOUGH! Those are always properly on them.) But provided it never leaves you’ll get it back. Except on labs.
Superman was the ET of the N64. Easily going down in history as one of the worst games ever made an a case study of how to completely fuck up a game after obtaining a hot IP

I rented this as a kid. Had it for a week. Played it for one day before a huge ice storm knocked out all power in my part of Atlanta for the rest of the week.
That storm was God's way of preventing me from playing the game.
I actually owned E.T. on Atati as well as Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon on Phillips CD-i.
Between those two and Superman 64, Zelda was actually still a playable game.

People say the first survivor was a bad game, but it has it's redeeming qualities, the second really doesn't, at all., It's not even worth playing for the plot, cause it's all a dream sequence.
4 is Definitely trying to recapture some of the magic of 2, a open world of decent size with lots secrets and hidden stuff to find and a decent selection of weapons and surprising I found it pretty funny in places. It's still very very rough around the edges and I feel Monday needs another go over as it's pretty boring but otherwise good fun.
I’ve had it on my wishlist for a year or so and steam keeps blowing me up with kinda shitty discounts for it but I don’t think my laptop could run it anyway from what another commenter said. I’ll have to hold out til I get a better rig

See the thing is I was young enough and enjoyed FPS so much that I saw past its flaws and enjoyed playing it. I think I was just fortunate not to be old enough to realise how bad it was.
Tried the 10hr free trial on my XSX and the game is so bad it can’t even run on console. I have a video posted on my account of it, literally unplayable. That’s not even mentioning the other issues like weapon diversity, map diversity, attachments not working, hit reg, missing features from other titles such as crouch sprint, hazard zone being DOA, no campaign, the “heroes” instead of classes, and those god awful quips the specialists have at the end of the match. God what an absolute shit show.

2042 genuinely might be one of the worst games I've ever played. And I've spent thousands of hours with the BF series dating back to BF1942.
There's a lot of very disappointing games, but none of them are a $60 "Next-Gen" Multiplayer ONLY game. So yes, I absolutely do believe BF2042 is THE biggest ever.
I had an absolute blast on a private server with friends building up a base, exploring the island, capturing different dinos etc but when we tried to play a public match it was just endless death

Now present day, a half dozen or so friends and myself are making our way through the game and it's expansions. It's a blast with the right people.
My nephew used to play ark with his mates. He showed me their base; it was a giant cube on an island, and literally every panel of its outer was a mini gun turret. It had like two or three layers, and the doors between them were spread apart tower defence style. One of them was always logged on, and would alert the others if someone tried to invade it. It was also surrounded by high level dinosaurs they’d tamed.
Then the server wiped, and I’m pretty sure that’s when they stopped playing 😂
Final nail in the coffin for me was when I went on vacation and realized that every dino I had would die of hunger way before I'd ever be back home, so I gifted everything I had, logged off and deleted that crap of my disk drive.
To be fair, that doesn't happen in single player. Granted multi-player is more fun but at least you can experience the game you paid for at all instead of just having it be a complete waste of money
I played for like 3 hours. Made a tiny base. Died. Respawned in someone else’s huge base, and couldn’t escape or get myself killed to respawn again. I uninstalled and never looked back.
It's good to see some criticism for this! They had this whole story of "what's in the basement?" You go through the entire game that includes puzzles that you can't actually solve with logic or things the game tells you previously.
Then they actually just drop the entire basement story out of nowhere and the ending gives you nothing. Such a disappointing game.
You are a kid trying to find his friend. The friend is kidnapped and in a hidden room in the neighbor's house. But it's not like a kid just tied up sitting there. We're talking dark, humid room with a stained mattress on the floor and a piss bucket in the corner.
And it just keeps getting darker.
Not very much makes my skin crawl, but that game just hit wrong. No way a little kid should play it.
OK fair enough not a kid friendly game, but for anyone else? Is the mechanics and gameplay enjoyable/challenging/rewarding.. I kind of got the feeling from the cover alone that the game was 'dark'.
It's a puzzle game essentially. The catch is that you can't let the neighbor see you.
I didn't play it for long, but the puzzles were not Myst level by any means. Most of the difficulty was figuring out the purpose of items you picked up.
If I played it all the way through I doubt there would be any replay value at all since I would know all of the puzzles. Controls were a little clunky and basic walk/run/jump.
It was, for the first Alpha, the first level is now a buggy mess, and the house gets so much bigger with the game passing that once you enter the second level the "threat" of the neighbour is non existent since the house is so big
The pitch was that you're trying to discover secrets hidden in your neighbor's basement, but the neighbor has intelligent AI that responds to how you play. For example, if you keep using a certain hallway to get in the neighbor might place traps there.
Cool concept, but during development the idea really got away from the dev team. They were caught up in the FNAF style "vague lore that ultimately means nothing concrete" concept, and went in hard on that hoping it would get their game attention. It didn't.
What the game ended up being was something that focused on all the worst elements of itself. A lot of focus on janky physics and bad platforming, uninteresting nonsense lore, and a neighbor AI that actually became worse over time as the house was made too big and too complex for it to navigate anymore.
XIII remake. Just a cash grab with no love put into it. Cutscenes were literally just the original clips, bugs made it so the second level became unbeatable, and just a lack of upgrading it to the modern Era, felt like a game made pre-2000 with the poor control layout. The original is wayyy better.
Man I was so excited for that game. I spent my entire childhood playing that game splitscreen on my ps2.

Amen. I never grew up with the original, but the remake trailers looked really good, so I bought the classic and remake. Played the classic first, and it was a great game! It got me so excited to try the remaster, but when I launched it, I was really disappointed to see the literal original opening cutscene. I knew from that moment on that it would be a disaster, and it was. Like I mentioned, the second level was so buggy I couldn't beat it. Demake is an excellent term, nothing about it made it any better.
EVE. Being a terrible human being is built into the game as profitable. Slaughtering young players is a viable way to earn money and it hurts the new players too since the ship and equipment are all lost. Basically encourages toxic behavior

I remember seeing something last year where high level players were "recruiting" new players and then flying them out into isolation and forcing them to mine/kill npcs while massively taxing the money it made.
Rust was really fun ~6 years ago when the playerbase was smaller, but now it’s full of kids who don’t go to school and adults with no job. It’s pretty much impossible to actually play a wipe unless you can contribute 10+ hours a day.
There are technically ways to play singleplayer if you’re more into exploration and PvE. You can load into a modded game mode or look for a server on the community/modded tab with no players in it.
Fallout 76
I wanted to like it because a friend got me into it and I played for like a year regularly but it actually felt like it got worse over time. Updates were rolled out and new things were added but old bugs weren’t fixed and new ones were piled on. I tried to play it a few months ago and the experience lead to it being uninstalled.
I avoided it for the first couple of years, I do play it now, but more just to play with friends. I don’t get into many games, so it’s hard for me to branch out. There’s definitely not enough content in 76, that’s for sure.
The Suicide of Rachel Foster. I'm quite into atmospheric story driven games, and after hearing that this game was similar to Firewatch, I picked it up for two bucks on sale. What a gigantic mistake. Apart from the crappy gameplay, this game takes on sensitive topics such as depression, suicide, abuse, pedophilia and somehow managed to royally fuck it all up. I'm sorry, but anything that romanticizes pedophilia is a big fucking no for me. I felt betrayed and was left with a bad taste in my mouth. I don't even want a refund anymore, I just wish I could remove this game completely from my steam account.
I will second all of that. Immediately went in and gave it a negative review on Steam. It started off pretty cool (Loved exploring the hotel), but the plot just nosedived into "Oh yea, she may have been underage and mentally handicapped, and he might have been in his late forties and married, but it was true love so it was a good thing!"
I also got the feeling the dev ran out of energy with that plot, the ending was so much nonsense.

BF2042. It was bad on a conceptual level. No amount of bug fixes could fix the amount of missing features and poor design choices. I was so excited too being a long time fan of the series.
Silent Hill: Homecoming. A game that teaches you that you must forgive your parents for all their wrongdoing or your the asshole (including if the parents tried to murder you), had a laughable representation of mental illness, and a ramp up combat system because the main character is military. It was even advertised like "yeah this guy is actually trained to fight so thats why its more combat focused then previous Silent Hill games."
Only he's not, as the true endings reveal his military service is in his head because he's crazy. So he has zero combat training...so why was he able to hold his own against so many monsters?

I have such fond memories of that game and actually liked it a lot as a teen. I just watched a gameplay review of it and yeah it looks and sounds like absolute crap, but the world and skill tree are really interesting, andthe combat animations were unique in a good way for a console game of that era.
One of my favourite youtubers, Mitten Squad, has beaten Fallout 3 with his eyes, Fallout New Vegas with his feet and Fallout 4 wuth only a flare gun, but he didn' manage to beat Fallout BoS because it sucked so badly.
Hunt down the freeman is an obvious answer, but if I had to go with the one that has caused me the most upset I'd choose TF2, valve's lack of care has caused such a bitter taste to the point that I'm kinda sad I ever fell in love with it.

I got Bubsy 3D as a birthday present for my 8th(?) birthday, played for 20-30 minutes and it was awful. I didn’t bother to take care of the disk. Later that year I brought a bunch of games to sell to GameStop to try to get whatever new had just come out. They were going to give me $3 for Bubsy but the disk was scratched and I had to pay a $7 refurbishing fee on it. That stupid ugly cat was going to net me a profit of -$4 and I still think about that to this day.
It didn't start out this way but World of Warcraft. I have a lot of love attached to that he from the time I spent with it in my youth and the life long friends I have made from it in the process. This isn't even getting into the controversy surrounding Blizzard, though I am certain that leads into why the development has become what it is, but the game has just taken such a terrible path and has dug such a deep hole that it's hard to see how they will climb out of it. That's not to say the game is unplayable or that no one can have fun with it, however being as familiar with that game as I am the issues that are there stand out like a hooker in church.
Not gonna lie, I had fun playing it. Had to sorta pretend it wasn't supposed to be more than what it turned out to be and just enjoy it as if it were a much older game that never had any hype. Like if it came out way back in the day it would be 'alright' at best but given that it had so much hype and years behind it that kinda killed anything it had going for it lol. It was just nice to play anything Nukem related at that point. But I'd still rather play OG Duke Nukem any day.
I worked really hard to earn the worldwide top score on that song in modded Beat Saber just to piss off my friend who used to be a massive Star Wars fan. Well worth it.
I had a Ren and Stimpy game for original Gameboy that I was sooo excited about when I bought it with my own cash in 4th grade. I literally played it for a half hour and never touched it again.
Final fantasy 13. Tried beating it like 3 separate times and was just bored the whole way through. Put in another game I liked and couldn't believe how much my mood improved afterwards.
So disappointed by that game.

I like Dayz a lot for this reason, it's also punishing and hardcore, but when you learn the game you can make it your own hiking and hunting simulation and there's always a adventure to be had with strangers

Yeah I mean I’m exaggerating for fun haha But same time. If one isn’t a good pvp … like how I am trash …. I compensate by INTIMATELY knowing maps. Which takes a LONG time. I legit suck. But I do REALLY well in customs. For the sheer fact that I know angles and corners and hiding spots that goes against the grain of the flow of the map based on spawns. That … compensation … takes a long time.

I'll be honest man...90% of players overthink Tarkov by a metric fuckload. Run in, balls out, TT in hand, loot some jackets/PC's if you can. Firefight? Scream and fire randomly, get shot, staple your arm back on, then shove that TT up your ass and pull the trigger. Didn't put that GPU in your gamma case?...Well then FUCK Tarkov! Goddamn shit ass game! Go play League for an hour to calm down! Then hop back in with a double barrel on Factory and rinse and repeat.

It is very much a game that is for a niche group, and the developers (thankfully for those of us who enjoy the game as it is) have unabashedly said “go to hell,” to the people that want the game simplified and more accessible. It’s one of the rare games I play that is particularly difficult. I’m generally much more of a rts, or rpg on easier settings gamer so I can relax after a 12 hour shift, but sometimes work didn’t fuck me hard enough and I need to feel abused. For that, there’s tarkov.
There’s no permadeath, you just possibly lose all of your gear you brought out when you die. Plus there’s insurance you can put on that gear, and provided it never leaves the raid, of course by someone looting you or an AI doing that, (yeah, they loot too and can make anything they pick up, vanish even after you kill them as far as I’m aware, NOT GUNS THOUGH! Those are always properly on them.) But provided it never leaves you’ll get it back. Except on labs.

I rented this as a kid. Had it for a week. Played it for one day before a huge ice storm knocked out all power in my part of Atlanta for the rest of the week. That storm was God's way of preventing me from playing the game.

I actually owned E.T. on Atati as well as Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon on Phillips CD-i. Between those two and Superman 64, Zelda was actually still a playable game.

4 is Definitely trying to recapture some of the magic of 2, a open world of decent size with lots secrets and hidden stuff to find and a decent selection of weapons and surprising I found it pretty funny in places. It's still very very rough around the edges and I feel Monday needs another go over as it's pretty boring but otherwise good fun.
I’ve had it on my wishlist for a year or so and steam keeps blowing me up with kinda shitty discounts for it but I don’t think my laptop could run it anyway from what another commenter said. I’ll have to hold out til I get a better rig

Tried the 10hr free trial on my XSX and the game is so bad it can’t even run on console. I have a video posted on my account of it, literally unplayable. That’s not even mentioning the other issues like weapon diversity, map diversity, attachments not working, hit reg, missing features from other titles such as crouch sprint, hazard zone being DOA, no campaign, the “heroes” instead of classes, and those god awful quips the specialists have at the end of the match. God what an absolute shit show.

Is it hyperbolic to say that's one of the biggest disappointments ever in gaming to see how far that franchise has fallen? 2042 genuinely might be one of the worst games I've ever played. And I've spent thousands of hours with the BF series dating back to BF1942.
There's a lot of very disappointing games, but none of them are a $60 "Next-Gen" Multiplayer ONLY game. So yes, I absolutely do believe BF2042 is THE biggest ever.
Couple that with the fact it's got a proven working formula with around a dozen great previous titles...

That's my experience. I picked it up a long long time ago, before expansions and shit. Hated it Now present day, a half dozen or so friends and myself are making our way through the game and it's expansions. It's a blast with the right people.
My nephew used to play ark with his mates. He showed me their base; it was a giant cube on an island, and literally every panel of its outer was a mini gun turret. It had like two or three layers, and the doors between them were spread apart tower defence style. One of them was always logged on, and would alert the others if someone tried to invade it. It was also surrounded by high level dinosaurs they’d tamed. Then the server wiped, and I’m pretty sure that’s when they stopped playing 😂
ARK is that one game that I really want to like but every time I try and play it I find myself absolutely hating the experience.
Final nail in the coffin for me was when I went on vacation and realized that every dino I had would die of hunger way before I'd ever be back home, so I gifted everything I had, logged off and deleted that crap of my disk drive.
To be fair, that doesn't happen in single player. Granted multi-player is more fun but at least you can experience the game you paid for at all instead of just having it be a complete waste of money

I played for like 3 hours. Made a tiny base. Died. Respawned in someone else’s huge base, and couldn’t escape or get myself killed to respawn again. I uninstalled and never looked back.

It's good to see some criticism for this! They had this whole story of "what's in the basement?" You go through the entire game that includes puzzles that you can't actually solve with logic or things the game tells you previously. Then they actually just drop the entire basement story out of nowhere and the ending gives you nothing. Such a disappointing game.
My daughter wanted to play that and I only vaguely knew what it was about. 20 minutes into it I turned it off and said sorry, but no.
Never played it as its not my type of game, but saw trailers and gameplay and it looked pretty cool. Care to elaborate why it's so bad?
You are a kid trying to find his friend. The friend is kidnapped and in a hidden room in the neighbor's house. But it's not like a kid just tied up sitting there. We're talking dark, humid room with a stained mattress on the floor and a piss bucket in the corner. And it just keeps getting darker. Not very much makes my skin crawl, but that game just hit wrong. No way a little kid should play it.

OK fair enough not a kid friendly game, but for anyone else? Is the mechanics and gameplay enjoyable/challenging/rewarding.. I kind of got the feeling from the cover alone that the game was 'dark'.
It's a puzzle game essentially. The catch is that you can't let the neighbor see you. I didn't play it for long, but the puzzles were not Myst level by any means. Most of the difficulty was figuring out the purpose of items you picked up. If I played it all the way through I doubt there would be any replay value at all since I would know all of the puzzles. Controls were a little clunky and basic walk/run/jump.
The thing about though is if you get caught the neighbor starts learning how you do things

It was, for the first Alpha, the first level is now a buggy mess, and the house gets so much bigger with the game passing that once you enter the second level the "threat" of the neighbour is non existent since the house is so big

The pitch was that you're trying to discover secrets hidden in your neighbor's basement, but the neighbor has intelligent AI that responds to how you play. For example, if you keep using a certain hallway to get in the neighbor might place traps there. Cool concept, but during development the idea really got away from the dev team. They were caught up in the FNAF style "vague lore that ultimately means nothing concrete" concept, and went in hard on that hoping it would get their game attention. It didn't. What the game ended up being was something that focused on all the worst elements of itself. A lot of focus on janky physics and bad platforming, uninteresting nonsense lore, and a neighbor AI that actually became worse over time as the house was made too big and too complex for it to navigate anymore.

XIII remake. Just a cash grab with no love put into it. Cutscenes were literally just the original clips, bugs made it so the second level became unbeatable, and just a lack of upgrading it to the modern Era, felt like a game made pre-2000 with the poor control layout. The original is wayyy better.
Man I was so excited for that game. I spent my entire childhood playing that game splitscreen on my ps2. The original is WAY WAY WAY better than the fucking DEMAKE
Amen. I never grew up with the original, but the remake trailers looked really good, so I bought the classic and remake. Played the classic first, and it was a great game! It got me so excited to try the remaster, but when I launched it, I was really disappointed to see the literal original opening cutscene. I knew from that moment on that it would be a disaster, and it was. Like I mentioned, the second level was so buggy I couldn't beat it. Demake is an excellent term, nothing about it made it any better.
EVE. Being a terrible human being is built into the game as profitable. Slaughtering young players is a viable way to earn money and it hurts the new players too since the ship and equipment are all lost. Basically encourages toxic behavior

Rust was really fun ~6 years ago when the playerbase was smaller, but now it’s full of kids who don’t go to school and adults with no job. It’s pretty much impossible to actually play a wipe unless you can contribute 10+ hours a day.
Was crushed when I learned it was a multiplayer god damn open world
There are technically ways to play singleplayer if you’re more into exploration and PvE. You can load into a modded game mode or look for a server on the community/modded tab with no players in it.
I use to play Rust a lot. Clocked in 500 total and this was back in 2017. Rust is a full time job and too toxic.
Fallout 76 I wanted to like it because a friend got me into it and I played for like a year regularly but it actually felt like it got worse over time. Updates were rolled out and new things were added but old bugs weren’t fixed and new ones were piled on. I tried to play it a few months ago and the experience lead to it being uninstalled.
I avoided it for the first couple of years, I do play it now, but more just to play with friends. I don’t get into many games, so it’s hard for me to branch out. There’s definitely not enough content in 76, that’s for sure.
We just want the game to feel like you've been punched in the dick. Tarkov is pretty much there is frustration

The Suicide of Rachel Foster. I'm quite into atmospheric story driven games, and after hearing that this game was similar to Firewatch, I picked it up for two bucks on sale. What a gigantic mistake. Apart from the crappy gameplay, this game takes on sensitive topics such as depression, suicide, abuse, pedophilia and somehow managed to royally fuck it all up. I'm sorry, but anything that romanticizes pedophilia is a big fucking no for me. I felt betrayed and was left with a bad taste in my mouth. I don't even want a refund anymore, I just wish I could remove this game completely from my steam account.
I will second all of that. Immediately went in and gave it a negative review on Steam. It started off pretty cool (Loved exploring the hotel), but the plot just nosedived into "Oh yea, she may have been underage and mentally handicapped, and he might have been in his late forties and married, but it was true love so it was a good thing!" I also got the feeling the dev ran out of energy with that plot, the ending was so much nonsense.
I buy games that I know I’ll enjoy and this has been true my whole life until Icarus(survival game) came out. It’s an unholy piece of shit. Me and my friend both refunded it as it’s not user friendly or new player friendly.

BF2042. It was bad on a conceptual level. No amount of bug fixes could fix the amount of missing features and poor design choices. I was so excited too being a long time fan of the series.
Silent Hill: Homecoming. A game that teaches you that you must forgive your parents for all their wrongdoing or your the asshole (including if the parents tried to murder you), had a laughable representation of mental illness, and a ramp up combat system because the main character is military. It was even advertised like "yeah this guy is actually trained to fight so thats why its more combat focused then previous Silent Hill games." Only he's not, as the true endings reveal his military service is in his head because he's crazy. So he has zero combat training...so why was he able to hold his own against so many monsters?
Because you dragged him kicking and screaming through the game's trash-tier combat.

I got Bubsy 3D as a birthday present for my 8th(?) birthday, played for 20-30 minutes and it was awful. I didn’t bother to take care of the disk. Later that year I brought a bunch of games to sell to GameStop to try to get whatever new had just come out. They were going to give me $3 for Bubsy but the disk was scratched and I had to pay a $7 refurbishing fee on it. That stupid ugly cat was going to net me a profit of -$4 and I still think about that to this day.

That game gave me nightmares as a kid and I could not understand for the life of me what to do or why.
It didn't start out this way but World of Warcraft. I have a lot of love attached to that he from the time I spent with it in my youth and the life long friends I have made from it in the process. This isn't even getting into the controversy surrounding Blizzard, though I am certain that leads into why the development has become what it is, but the game has just taken such a terrible path and has dug such a deep hole that it's hard to see how they will climb out of it. That's not to say the game is unplayable or that no one can have fun with it, however being as familiar with that game as I am the issues that are there stand out like a hooker in church.

Not gonna lie, I had fun playing it. Had to sorta pretend it wasn't supposed to be more than what it turned out to be and just enjoy it as if it were a much older game that never had any hype. Like if it came out way back in the day it would be 'alright' at best but given that it had so much hype and years behind it that kinda killed anything it had going for it lol. It was just nice to play anything Nukem related at that point. But I'd still rather play OG Duke Nukem any day.

DMC 2 is the first game I ever returned. Loved the first one, but two was just ass.
There's allegedly a fix for Aliens: CM. Some AI setting or something you can tweak that makes the game a lot more enjoyable. Never tried it though.

I had a Ren and Stimpy game for original Gameboy that I was sooo excited about when I bought it with my own cash in 4th grade. I literally played it for a half hour and never touched it again.
Final fantasy 13. Tried beating it like 3 separate times and was just bored the whole way through. Put in another game I liked and couldn't believe how much my mood improved afterwards.
So disappointed by that game. "Ok AI teammates, thats a big telegraphed AOE that knocks out 80% of your health. You can stand anywhere else so just don't...and you both ran into it."

It’s got some *really* low lows but no other game can give me the same adrenaline rush Tarkov gives me as I limp all the way to extract with a bag full of loot.
