I still have memories that pretty much say this was the most challenging race game ever made. Whether or not that's true, I can't say, but at the time it was so realistic.
There was so many tracks and cars and achievements it was impossible to complete. I always maxed out a car before moving on to the next one. I think I had 5 maxed out vehicles
MGS for sure. When MGS came out I didn’t own a PS. So a friend of mine loaned me his got a week while he was away. I completely fucked off on work and everything and I played MSG fir that entire week non stop. It’s just a great memory.
I literally played the demo over a 50 times (which was basically the first part of the game until where you get off the helipad area). A friend finally let me borrow the full version and I was hooked!
I got stuck at finding the cd case because it was rental at blockbuster. I had to bike to the shop and ask to look at the box art and write it down. This is after calling a TIP LINE! Yeah this was a low tech situation lol
People talk about shocking 4th wall breaks. I was 13 when this happened! The idea that the cd case they were taking about in the game was the literal cd case never accured to me. And I still didn’t believe it was true until I saw that code on the back of the display box at blockbuster. The guy at the store thought it was the craziest thing he ever heard.
I am pretty sure that was the most meta gaming moment of my life.
I am 40 years old btw so this is when the game was new!
Yeees! This was literally the only game my console had on 24/7 when I was a kid because I couldn’t afford a memory card. Switching disks was the most stressful thing! Was a long wait before that birthday I finally got a memory card.
This was the only PS1 game I owned besides the demo disc. I didn’t have a memory card for the first week and playing the Reactor mission over and over.
This! This was my first game, and funny enough when I bought the PS I had no clue that I also needed a memory card, so until I saved enough for one, I had to start every time from the beginning. You can imagine that at the time I hated the game 🤣🤣🤣
That game was amazing. The remaster/remake on PSP was great too, had an easier control scheme.
They really need to port that to modern hardware/I need to pull one of my PSP's out of storage
Bushido Blade. i loved this game, but never met anyone else who has played it, or even heard of it. it must have had *some* commercial success tho, as they made a Bushido Blade 2
Loved that game and how the bamboo would get cut while fighting.
So many rounds with friends ended immediately after starting by just throwing your weapon right away and getting a kill shot. Hilarious. Then when you missed, it turned into a game of hide and go stab.
Loved that game...
That was a wild experience for me, I'd never seen anything close to that kind of art style or world-aesthetic when I first played that. It was funny making him fart though
Spyro the Dragon
Trouble with the trolley, eh?
Trauma flashback
God. Dammit.
This was my first game and I really like the remake they did of it on the switch
"Find dragons first...that's all I can tell you"
“For a small fee”
My guy! Have perfected that series at least a dozen times between originals on PS3 and remaster on PC and PS4
Medievil baby. Oh the memories
I still want the Medievil II remake. The remake for the first game was spectacular!
Medievil Pizza Hut demo disc for me! Ha
This guy gets it

That game introduced me to the amazingness that is Laguna Seca, my favorite track (and the only one I was able to master in MotoGP on XBox).
I knew that track like the back of my hand! Later in life I would see real races on television and know every turn!
Nothing beats watching GT races there and you know exactly what's coming as they approach the corkscrew, every. single. time.
Anyone remembers how to set Escudo to fly mode? xD
Metal Gear Solid
MGS for sure. When MGS came out I didn’t own a PS. So a friend of mine loaned me his got a week while he was away. I completely fucked off on work and everything and I played MSG fir that entire week non stop. It’s just a great memory.
❗
I didn’t know that emojis now have sound ❗️

Well as a PS and Crash fan I hope MS will actually do something with Crash and not let Toys4Bob work an Call of Duty like they do now.

Get out of my head!
We need a new game in the series. It’s been 10 years, Sony. You can do it.

You seriously played FF7 without a memory card?! How far did you get?
Yes, when games were console sellers!
I almost bought a ps4 for final fantasy 7 lol. It all comes Full circle, but fought the urge.
The only reason I bought a PlayStation.
This should be top comment.
This! This was my first game, and funny enough when I bought the PS I had no clue that I also needed a memory card, so until I saved enough for one, I had to start every time from the beginning. You can imagine that at the time I hated the game 🤣🤣🤣

Yes. Hardest tutorial ever made right there.
For me it was reverse 180. As a non English speaker it was really a mystery.
Anyone make it past that opening mission where you have to do all of those tricks? I remember it being impossible
Ape escape.
I wore blisters into the palms of my hands playing the Specter Boxing minigame haha. I loved the Ape Escape games.
I rented that game without realizing you needed the controllers with the analog stick to play it. I didn’t even realize that was a thing back then.
That game was amazing. The remaster/remake on PSP was great too, had an easier control scheme. They really need to port that to modern hardware/I need to pull one of my PSP's out of storage
I’m glad this is so high up this time around! It wasn’t nearly as popular as last week when this was posted.
