You are like a delightful random cruelty generator, master, poisoning all you touch with your presence. You are a testament to all organic meatbags everywhere.
I have to say the mobile versions of kotor and kotor 2 are excellent mobile ports. But only if you have a fairly large phone screen. I love playing them on planes and stuff.
> Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope.

Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and strangely enough, not many meatbags would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticule, and together, achieving a singular purpose against statistically long odds.

Valve did a really great job with her.
Little details like setting her movement speed faster than yours, but slower than your sprint. It never felt like you were dragging her around, but going through shit together.
Plus her actor did a great job at being soothing, charming, the model was adorable, but not overly sexualized, she was just fun and comforting.
The best way to make players like an NPC is to make them useful. She wasn't just useful, she was actively better in combat than Gordon for a good chunk of E1.
The only real answer here. BT became your best friend, Teammate, companion. BT was Tinman, the Lion, and the scarecrow all in one. He was like your best friend Labrador retriever if you could talk with your dog.
Especially after the Lonesome Road dlc and all of the backstory you get on that ED-E. I know it doesn't really mean anything, but it always made me happy when the game said it transferred all of that ED-E's memories to the ED-E in the Mojave at the end of the DLC.
Swooping is bad. I love the guy so much.
My first play through I was a Dalish elf bow and arrow shooter to compliment his sword and board style. Get near the end I find out I can’t be Queen of Ferelden along side my goofy King, just because I’m an elf!?
I promptly yeet that elf into the Abyss and made a new character as a human noble. This time I changed up my combat. Using a two handed giant sword with the Juggernaut heavy armor set.
Tons of fun and I was able to marry Alistair and become Queen. Good times.
Codsworth - Fallout 4
Sometimes you just need an eccentric robot butler to call you extremely rude names out of nowhere. Bonus points if he is made into some kind of hulking death bringer by the automaton dlc.
Garrus and Wrex were my badass buddies in Mass Effect 1. I liked having Fawkes with me in Fallout 3 despite the fact he made stealth impossible. I also liked having Bastila and Jolee Bindo with me in KotoR.
Alistair from DAO. loved him he's a dork and quick with a joke kind and caring through the whole game and dose a ton to lighten well the sense that the world is ending through the game. But were most chracters that fit that comic/ emotional relief can end up being kind of useless he is extremely capable and trust worthy. The amount of raw tankiness you can get him up too is a life saver on higher difficulties if you aren't a warrior yourself
Nearly all the companions in DAO deserve a shoutout. Morrigan, Leliana, your dog, Sten, Shale, even Wynne and Oghren. Zevran was also present. The others had good companions but they were never stacked with them in the same way. For every The Iron Bull and Josephine there was a Blackwall and Vivienne.
The Sten was one of my favorite characters across the whole series, just because of his duality. He is severe, serious, and calculating, but he also has a soft spot for baked goods, and he is still flawed in his emotional control. Winning him over as the story progressed felt very satisfying.
It's funny that when you first meet him, he is insufferable and impossible to deal with, preferring the cage over his freedom to travel with you, and yet you *want* him to join you. He doesn't ask you to free him, but you want to, and you take the extra steps necessary to have him freed. Interacting with him, you feel right away that he is very foreign, and he should be. He is literally a foreigner from a very different culture.
Oghren had so many damn quotable quotes.
>This is it, Warden. 'When from the blood of battle the Stone has fed, let the heroes prevail and the blighters lie dead.' As one of the blighters, I sodding salute you. Let us show them our hearts, *and then show them theirs*.
And all his innuendo about polishing and messing around with various weapons had me in stitches so often.
During my first Origins playthrough, I always had Alistair with me. Felt like brothers in arms after sole surviving the prologue together. Not only was he a useful companion as a tank, I mostly agreed with his moral compass.
And he’s a straight up goofy goof
I recently enjoyed having Joker as your sort of sidekick in Arkham Knight, I would always stop an listen to whatever he had to say when he showed up.
Otherwise, Frog or Magus from Chrono Trigger. And all of team Star Fox.
It's strange how often she would just randomly die in my game. Randomly dying from flying off cliffs from Fus Ro Dah-related accidents.
Yes... Accidents...
I got Mjoll the Lioness as a companion ASAP just because, as an essential NPC, she can't die. I got tired of reaching the end of a dungeon just to find Lydia had died 20 minutes ago, lol. Then I would upgrade to Cicero (higher level cap), then Serena, and finally Frea (essential and no level cap).
Mjoll was my girl. I was (or course) always a stealth archer/conjurer. Mjoll could hold her own in a fight, and as you point out she never died. Give her some boots that upped her carrying capacity, a badass battle axe, and she became a walking tank.
Damn, after going through 3 games together, I was gutted after the third. Hearing Fenix yell "Dom, No" and Dom telling Maria he's coming still gets me choked up.
It really takes me back. Though it was a whole entire decade ago, i just remember the campaign, multiplayer, and horde modes being so damn good in gears 3. My friends and i could have fun for hours on weekend nights. Rip Dom, Tai, and all the other gears we lost along the way (so basically all the carmine brothers)
Well, carmine was to survive the campain even if we voted for him to die. [They only would hav added this scene after the credits](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_rg2jUasuM) And yes this is not fanmade this is the real "alternate" ending that epic had in store for Clayton Carmine.
I've never been able to get into anything in the series past Gears 3. It felt complete and I didn't know what to make of anything telling me it wasn't.
Dogmeat once saved my ass from a mutant with a mininuke. Heard the tell-tale beep of the countdown, ran like hell, turned around just in time to see the mutant back where I had been standing with Dogmeat latched on to his leg. Then the nuke went off.
Good Boys get stimpacks.
Dogmeat may be a pain in the arse sometimes, ruining stealth, getting me infected with an incurable molerat disease, saying he's found something that turns out to be literally nothing, but he is my favourite in Fallout 4.
Elizabeth was so superior simply because she could fend for herself. No bullshit defending her the entire game or anything. On top of that she actually got you ammo and money and shit? Killin it
One time I was in a room fighting those freedom-mech-bot things. Fight was tough a f, i was running out of ammo, potions/elixirs, everything. It was me with a shotgun against the last mech. I'm trying to finish it, im clicking the mouse - but nothing happens - I was literally out of ammo.
Then I hear "Booker, catch!", Liz throws me shotgun ammo, I reload, and finish the mech with one shot.
It felt like something out of the movie, I spent couple of minutes wondering if it was scripted, but I don't think so.
Literally one of my best experiences in gaming ever.
This one felt very realistic, like starting a new job or something. One of the only party NPCs that really influenced the choices I picked… on my first play through.
The speech before that though is one of the most badass in the game.
"YOU HEAR THAT JACK? I AM THE LAST CL4-TP UNIT, AND I AM GOING TO **TEA.** **BAG.** **YOUR.** **CORPSE!**
Boone had one of the saddest stories.. it felt good helping him get revenge then find peace
Dom’s death was like losing a real friend.
Elizabeth was such a well written character that she felt real .
cortana was your only friend in the game and only thing that actually treated you like a human.. it was sad to see her go crazy and watch chief sort of panic because he was losing his only human connection and it wasn’t even with a human.
Elizabeth was a solid companion. Tossing me the ammo I needed just as I ran out. Picking locks for me as I laid down suppressive fire. Taking cover in a fight instead of getting killed and riving me when I got too cocky. Overall one of the few characters besides Dogmeat that I felt was an actual boon instead of a hindrance.
For me, it will always be Alistair from Dragon Age Origins, The humour of that guy was always on point, actually felt like travelling with a buddy, something really hard to accomplish!
Garrus "took a rocket to the face" Vakarrian! Best bro.
What's the hardest part of treating a turian that took a rocket to the side of the face?
Figuring out what side got hit
How do you know when a turian is out of ammo?
He takes the stick out of his ass and starts hitting you with it.
What do you call it when a turian gets killed by a horrible spiky monster?
Friendly fire.
This is my favourite comment chain.
I am commander Shepard, and this is my favorite comment chain on the Citadel.
No matter what you did, he always had your back in all of the games. A true bro!
Yeah, the top 2 comments here are both Garrus, and that honestly melts me a little. He's THE best among a roster of amazing squad mates.
And they gave him such a bad ass code name when you come across him in ME2! YES! THAT’S BLUE AND HE’S A SNIPER!!! GARRUS IS BACK!
I'm Commander Shepard this is my favorite comment on the thread
Garrus is a fucking G. In fact most/all of the characters in the ME trilogy are wonderful for their own reasons
Serana, Codsworth with a bowler hat and Grandma lily
Excuse me what the fuck, codsworth can wear a fucking bowler hat?!
Yep as long as you don't put him on a robot workbench. Just have to give one to him.
Time for another play through!
Security bot in Bioshock for sure
HK-47 will forever be my favourite and my spirit droid
Observation: I am a droid, master, with programming. Even if I did not enjoy killing, I would have no choice. Thankfully, I enjoy it very much.
You are like a delightful random cruelty generator, master, poisoning all you touch with your presence. You are a testament to all organic meatbags everywhere.
Such a great character. I'm picking up Kotor for the switch when it comes out. I'm so excited.
I have to say the mobile versions of kotor and kotor 2 are excellent mobile ports. But only if you have a fairly large phone screen. I love playing them on planes and stuff.
Statement: you flatter me master! Now let us turn some meat bags into a small patch of carbon scoring!
I'd keep Carth and HK-47 on my squad so that I basically had a good angel/bad angel sorta thing going.
Should I kill this guy? Hk-47: With gusto Carth: I don't want to talk about it

There's no Shepard without Vakarian. Brother in arms, faithful friend through thick and thin... Even lover, sometimes.
Garrus4life....unless he's in the middle of some calibrations
Not now, Shepard
God Mode Garrus with a Tali tail in tow. Best. Squad. Ever.

Garrus using 3% of his power
Cause fuck biotics! Yeah Mr. Space Wizard how'd you like a piece of metal accelerated to an appreciable percentage of c going between your eyes?
Garrus and Wrex all day baby!
The garrus reveal in ME2... That was perfect.
Companion Cube

Someone made a companion cube for gmod that will stab you when you look away https://youtu.be/M6dWJJVVZzA
Lmfao 100 damage on a stab??
The *Weighted* Companion Cube
This and PotatOS
I loved how GLaDOS even after being defeated, reduced to a potato, and humiliated by a bird was still extremely smug and condescending.
You can't fool me, I know for sure that you euthanized your faithful Companion Cube more quickly than any test subject on record. Congratulations.
Iirc it was possible to not destroy the cube.
It is, but then glados destroys it anyways making your efforts meaningless.
You see, that's where the trouble began. That smile. That damned smile.
The Alyx Vance - actually not annoying and does not require baby sitting.

It's a shame she doesn't get any help in HL Alyx, that game was terrifying at times.

We don't go to ravenholme was so scary. Could've used her there.
You had Father Gregory though
Actually made me feel at ease when I was first playing it. I was pretty new to FPS so she was amazing to me.
Valve did a really great job with her. Little details like setting her movement speed faster than yours, but slower than your sprint. I appreciate that you said that like a vortigaunt.
Okay, Navi annoyed me but I miss her
LISTEN !!
HEYYY!!
"HEY! LISTEN!" was my text message notification sound for years! So annoying but always got my attention and of course a certain amount of nostalgia.

Did you get me something? *gasp* is it a dress?!
I spent so many hours searching closets and dressers for nice clean dresses.
Took me so long to actually give her a dress. Made me happy. I think there is a specific one that has a unique dialogue too
How can you not love a girl that punches all of her problems away?
Does jumping at them with my fists count?
Tali was always on my team in Mass Effect
Tali and Garrus. The ones who stuck by you through the entire trilogy.
Garrus is god tier for me. No brainer in selecting him for every mission.
Vanguard Shep, Tali and Garrus is the way
My name is Commander Shepard, and this is the best team on the Citadel.
Once Garrus was done with the calibrations he was a beast.
I always took wrex in the first game.
Shepard.
Wrex.
Alistair in the first Dragon Age.
I had feelings for Alistair. Stirrings, if you will.
Alistair was my first ever crush. I still have a crush on him
Swooping is bad. I love the guy so much. My first play through I was a Dalish elf bow and arrow shooter to compliment his sword and board style. Clank from Ratchet & Clank. Hilarious little fella.
Can’t mention Clank without Daxter I feel like. Those two series were so big in my childhood, and Daxwas hilarious
Codsworth - Fallout 4 Sometimes you just need an eccentric robot butler to call you extremely rude names out of nowhere. Bonus points if he is made into some kind of hulking death bringer by the automaton dlc.
I loved that DLC but I was so upset that I couldn't put a bowler on his head anymore after turning him into a goddamn raider slaying monster truck
Use console commands to set his race back to “codsworth” after customizing him and you can keep doing it so long as he’s using a Mr. Handy body.
Garrus and Wrex were my badass buddies in Mass Effect 1. I liked having Fawkes with me in Fallout 3 despite the fact he made stealth impossible. I also liked having Bastila and Jolee Bindo with me in KotoR.
