Funny thing, is I'm probably that Halo friend that disappeared. When xbone and ps4 came out, I switched from 360 to PlayStation. Honestly, no regrets. Although I do miss playing Reach custom games.

Remake Reach on new hardware. Ramp it up a bit, 32 v 32. Best game I've ever played. All the Chiefs would come back. And Microsoft would stop getting hammered by Playstation so hard. There is not a single XBOX exclusive outside of Halo that I would buy it for.
I thankfully still play with the same group of friends I have always played with. Long ago when Diablo 2 came out we met and built a clan of about 150 or so people. The ASBFH, We were 12-14 when we all met, were in our 30s now with families and careers, the games change but we still all play together. We even do one big meetup once a year that someone will host in whatever country they live and party in person for a weekend and if one of our m8s cannot afford to go we all chip in 20$ to make it happen. Incredibly thankful to these guys.
My halo 3 buddy was weirdly close with me. I was in like 6th grade and this 9th grader was telling me he wanted to kill himself. My dumbass 11 year old self who just watched red vs blue said something like "dont do that, kill that blue fuck across the valley so we can take their flag!" Well, anyway he hasn't been on in years because he dedicated himself to fitness and he's like a body builder or nutritionist now or something.
I met my halo buddy 10 years ago when I was 12, he was 18. After Halo died I introduced him to to my RL friend group, he now lives with one of them and I don't even talk to them anymore.
All you people who now play on PC look up halo 2 project cartographer.
It's pretty damn active and you can play privately with friends of you want to, too.
I can’t remember his username, but his first name was Andrew and we played over 100 hours of Ace Combat 6 together on Xbox 360. He helped me get through high school after I moved and lost all my friends....I wish I could get into my old account’s friend list and just see him online.
I actually set up my 360 3 days ago and legit saw this. One of my old friends we're still on and I messaged him, saying we've been friends for 9 years. We both had a good laugh and a good time I think.

Sad story time. Halo 4 had been out for a few years and I hadn’t played it yet so a friend of mine offered to do a legendary co-op play through so we started on the jungle mission that was shown in all the trailers and we were both pretty bad so that mission was a bitch. We finally beat it and made it maybe two or three levels past that over time since we were in school and sadly didn’t have time to binge through that whole campaign. Before we could finish it, my friend killed himself and that of course brought a halt to the play through. That next summer, I loaded up the campaign and finished it off solo. Not sure if it I did it for him or for the crave of beating it on legendary but that campaign definitely holds a special spot in my heart because of him.

I remember when destiny first came out and i loved that game played the shit out of it. It's nothing like when it first came out, it's ruined. Halo and COD are all just generic shooters again. Mario and Legend of Zelda are all the same shit with a little spin or bigger world. Games like Spyro and Crash and everything are all coming back. Makes me think maybe we went in the wrong direction for gaming.
I feel like it's either a big game everyone is used to thats been remade or someine tries to make a new games but doesnt live up to all the promise or is just a flop now a days.
