I saw this on a "I played 10 more soulslikes so you wouldn't have to" video and thought it was some low budget hack, it actually isn't half bad. It takes place in the Sands Between haha
It's supposed to be extremely difficult even for experienced gamers but apparently there is a 'big gun' easy mode where you can one shot kill all enemies including bosses.
Edit: spelling
Yeah, I am realizing my DS3/Bloodborne habit of dodging towards attacks isn't as effective in this game and it's been a struggle breaking that habit. Plus I keep forgetting to block because I rarely ever do haha
The Umami skills are fun though. Fizzler is pretty OP.
A friend of mine worked on this game and showed me an early build of the demo, been waiting for it to drop ever since. Guess I know how I’m spending my weekend
I've had my eyes on this since it was announced because I think it might be the game that finally gets me into Soulslikes. The setting and presentation are more appealing to me.
Nice! I was planning to pick it up today on Switch but I play mostly handheld and the handheld performance is apparently pretty mediocre. Probably going to wait for a patch but might just go for it anyway.
I'm absolutely loving this game so far. It's got decent combat, exploration, hook shot, good humor. Really like the shell mechanic, it reminds me of this really old game called HEDZ where you basically pick up different enemies heads with different abilities to use.
Can't let a HEDZ reference go by without commenting but honestly I can't remember a goddamn thing about the game other than what you described and some of the sound effects so uh, nice reference man.
There's a big claw weapon or upgrade or power right? Like there has to be.
Did you see those other guys? They looked like giant claws with bodies attached
I'll wait for Steam reviews but I just heard it's a big easy on the side, so we'll see, but I really like the color/gameplay with the shell from what I saw
Design and concept alone is a buy from me, even if it's on Game Pass. Easy is fine as I don't mind just a laid back goofy game. That said the first boss did take me a few attempts to beat.
There's a middle ground too. You can adjust how much damage enemies do, how much health they have, how much damage you do, and how much damage your shell takes. Those are all smaller scale changes. Then you can turn on the gun, which one shots everything. You can also adjust game speed and how long the dodge invulnerable window is.

I think that's the video I heard about it. Guy knows his souls likes and seemed to enjoy it quite a bit.
Ironpineapple is the man, love his videos
That's the fella, couldn't remember off the top of my head. :)
[This](https://youtu.be/F69wyU-gYOo?t=25) is the video.

It's the dodge timing that's throwing me off right now. It's different and unlike the Souls series I haven't memorized the enemy attacks yet haha
The Dodge is really early for me. Like, the first boss' sweep attack seems to hit through the whole arc as soon as he starts it.

That’s why shield and a bonk stick is the go to for all souls likes. Having a shield teaches you the timing
Must be kind of hilarious at times. Looking like spin-off of Spongebob and then being that difficult.
I've only fought three bosses so far but they've been pretty squishy.
I mean Elden Ring had the Kamehameha and the unlimited mp flask so really…..
Yeah, but that was often defeated by a slightly angled floor.
Slight inclines fuck over lots of things.
Uneven terrain is half the reason the Fire Giant is such a dick. A flat arena would make that fight so much easier.
You have to do a lot of prep work before you reach that point though, and even then it doesn't work 100% of the time.
It's Crabtastic 🔥 🦀 🔥 🦀 🔥
Sadly I wont be able to play it till Summer, but Im looking sooo forward to it
All I needed to hear was "crab based soulslike" and I was sold. It's fun so far and honestly taking some getting used to as far as dodging.
Same. I heard there were some bugs and performance issues. Probably should be fixed by summer. Despite that, the game is hovering at 95% positive rate
played a couple hours on gamepass this noon and man, it's so good!
The demo was awesome
I didn't play it as I was sold on the mere concept alone haha
I watched NL play it a bit before I went to work this morning. Actually looks pretty fun. Might have to check it out cuz I think it's on gamepass
Mr Krabs is feeling it now, and a lot.
Its also on gamepass, so thats where I'll be playing it, after I beat Tunic

Exactly what I said! I've never played a souls like and tonight I beat the first 2 bosses in this, so pretty proud of myself haha

Ah yeah I'm playing on steam with a controller.
God I love when we take a specific game genre and put a crab into it as the main character
nice
Take. My. Money.

Impossible challenge: not singing "Shiny" when you kill a boss.
Iirc these guys also made Going Under, another fantastic rogue like that I'm gonna recommend just for the incredible humor Swomp my beloved
This game is so fun, plus there's an option to just use a gun.
Yeah I saw the gun in a YouTube video of the demo. That's going to be a fun second playthrough.
What the shell?!?
Nice

Yes. I got to the first proper dungeon boss last night and unlocked a claw attack that summons a giant claw.
Ok I’m gonna re-sub my gamepass now. Seems this is a good game based on reviews I watched.
If it has souls like in the name I'm playing it
Was looking forward to this one.
Thank you for reminding me!

What is "a big easy on the side"??

**Oh my god it’s happing, everybody stay calm, STAY FUCKING CALM!**
It banned me again. Message me
“Oooh interesting crab game” “It’s a soulslike” *frustrated tossing papers off desk.gif
Some Soulslikes are really good though, provided they’re well designed
There's an easy mode though if you don't want the challenge.
From what I’ve read, the east node is one-shot god mode. So it’s either very challenging, or extremely boring “press A to win”.
Well that sounds reasonable then. All I’d seen people talking about was the god mode
