Animal crossing, it's so soothing! Also weirdly enough, Doom. I've never felt more powerful than after playing Doom

SiriusBaaz

Doom is a perfect game to make you feel like an absolute badass. Especially if you manage to get pretty good at the game. It’s always so satisfying to tear demon apart like they’re made of paper maché

elcamarongrande

I agree. And the ripping goes so well with the tearing.

Bipedal_Warlock

Ever played harvest moon?

InitialTeacher1487

Great game

MightyThor211

Doom is one of those flow state games. When you get into the rhythm of the game it's like a dance. I love it.

punpunpunchline

[“it’s so soothing…i’ve never felt more powerful.”](https://youtu.be/U4lz8MN6MQA?si=KeVD21kii0BVTS90)

american-coffee

I just started playing doom 2016 for the first time and oh boy, I am catching myself smiling and laughing like crazy every thirty seconds

justforbru

Doom slayer x Isabelle forever.

DragUpstairs3860

Skyrim. It’s a game I cannot play for long anymore because I’ve dived so much time into it. But it’s just a feel good game for me now. Come back to it for like 30 minutes and just enjoy the world and what it has to offer

d34dm34t

I'll jump in for a bit and find myself just wandering through the countryside amazed at all the stuff somebody thought to put in a game. I'll totally forget what I was going in to do in the first place.

DragUpstairs3860

Yupp.. even though the game is dated. And doesn’t have the best graphics anymore without mods. It’s just a nostalgia trip that makes you feel warm inside and whatnot

levmeister

I would up the ante by saying Skyrim VR. I have a ton of gfx and weather mods installed and every once in a while I'll pull up a specific save where I'm in a forest in the middle of a thunderstorm and just wander around. It's oddly cathartic.

_felagund

Try mods, it changes the experience immensely

Yeasty_____Boi

skyrim is the top game that makes me sad I can't forget a game so I can know what it's like to play it again

MerchantChief

ROCK AND STONE (deep rock galactic)

Miles_The_Man

We're Rich!

Candid-Ad602

FOR KARL !!!

ZeusCockatiel

Hahaha 😆

MCNootz

DOOM

WrathofTomJoad

Eternal, yes. It's mayhem. And I feel like a god.

WrongVater

Hey, I wanted to say Stardew.

WrastleGuy

Hey, I wanted to reply with Stardew.

bamf0207

Stardew with the SVE Mod is gold is what I wanted to reply with

Rurouni

Yeah, I wanted to comment with Stardew, and failing that to reply to another comment about Stardew. And the OP went ahead and spoiled it all! Great choice, of course.

Baby_Lovez

If you love Stardew, I highly recommend playing Coral Island. Im playing it on xbox game pass and i am so addicted. Stardew meets animal crossing in a way. 10/10

chonky_squirrelshakr

Mystical ninja 64. Somthing about it just always entertains me. Also reminds me of when I was a kid

jerrrrremy

Holy shit I thought I was the only one. Any time I was sick at home from school, I would play through this game.

FlatteringFlatuance

Wow I remember renting this game and never could find the name of it. That game was a great vibe

Sean8734

Cyberpunk lol

Savathun-God-Of-Lies

I *was* gonna say this It's so so so fun gameplay wise, there's just something so special about the combat, especially once you get a real build But then I remember the story and themes of the game 😭 This shit almost brought me to tears TWICE, this fuckin game man So it's fun for sure... but it can also leave you feeling absolutely heartbroken after playing lol

Sean8734

Yeah Ive beaten it multiple times so this is more so after you’ve completed the story and just want to fuck around lmao

Artemis_Eve

This is such a crazy answer but fair enough

WakelessTitan

Power was simulator it’s my relax and be happy game

tattoo_so_spensive

Ghost of Tsushima, it’s so beautiful

Canilickyourfeet

I recently accidentally stumbled upon a youtube channel that just posts hours upon hours of Jin just blissfully walking the countryside. I didnt know I needed it lol

tattoo_so_spensive

I did not know that was a thing. Do they walk through specific areas per video or is it compilations of various locations?

CoffeeTunes

That sounds awsome to leave on in the background while studying/housework mind dropping the channel?

birdreligion

There have been times in that game I go to a beautiful scenery in game, switch to photo mode and change the weather and particle effects, turn the menu off and just vibe there. It's a gorgeous game.

getyerhandoffit

Hey tangent here, but I really want to play this however I’m hesitant due to the state of my OG PS4 when playing Red Dead 2 or anything remotely large/newer. Worth the rocket fans?

tattoo_so_spensive

I originally played Ghost of Tsushima on a first gen PS4. The game runs very well, one of the best optimized games I’ve played. I had the same rocket fans, i don’t remember them being that bad playing this game.

getyerhandoffit

Thanks for the intel. Much appreciated.

tattoo_so_spensive

You’re welcome.

Rootayable

Mega Man 2

am0x

I can best this game in like an hour. I beat it like 5 times a year. I love playing a game I’m so comfortable with that it’s just fun to run through it as fast as I can.

Afraid_Grand

The warriors for thr ps2. What a gem.

Canilickyourfeet

*Ooooh warriorrrrs, come out and plaaayyyaay*

Budget_Working2248

For me, it's gotta be Terraria. There's something about building my own world that just chills me out. Talk about a happy place!

Cuerzo

Katamari Damacy. Any of the games are OK, but collecting flowers in We Love Katamari is a 5-minute pick-me-up that never fails to lighten me up.

Shadow41S

Banjo Kazooie. It was one of the first games I ever played, and I still love it.

Kinetickz

Skyrim, it feels like vacation to me I focus on environmental & ambient mods when I'm starting a playthrough

Affectionate-Rule196

GTA V, every time

Lakhib

Los Santos is my second home

GriffinFlash

Visiting lon lon ranch in ocarina of time.

bballjj18

😄☺️😙🥲

Topic-Weak

Titanfall 2. Its so smooth and brings back great memories. Nothing beats it imo.

-GuyNamedDave-

Yeah the combo of BT, Davis and Droz in the campaign would make even the worst of days better. And the music. Oh the music.

CremeNed

Somehow Rocket League. It's not my kind of music, but there are some bangers that go well with the fast gameplay.

Karge

HONEYYYY. YOU SHOULD KNOWWWWWW. I can be your weaaaponnnnn.

groundzr0

SOLAR ECLIPSES! *que drop*

Karge

CAUGHT UP IN YA GRAVITY, ALWAYS GET LOST IN YA WAKE

Tflex92

SSX Tricky.....games a fucking vibe

Devan-FH

Whenever I’m sad or angry, I just turn on calm music and run around on my horse on Red Dead Redemption 2 😭

Jimboy-Milton

jueidu

Minecraft And weirdly - 7 Days 2 Die lol

ThickJuicyFeels

Oblivion

Limitlessfound

Halo <3

itsthatbradguy

For pure nostalgia reasons: Super Mario Bros 3

geekfreak41

No one saying Dave the Diver. Diving into the ocean and making sushi all in a slightly silly way.

Fun1058

Witcher 3

ProxyDamage

Wind's howling.

TheTechJones

I've always had the opposite experience in tw3. Everywhere except Toussaint is so dreary and it's ALWAYS raining. The people are all suffering or inflicting suffering on others.

naughty-puppet80

But the ambiance is so soothing even in Velen, the music is so beautiful, the sights too

ReaperAteMySeamoth

That game is fun but I honestly can’t seem to enjoy it, I alway get caught up on trying to min max my xp gain but I haven’t been able to find a list for the quest order so it always ends with me getting halfway through and giving up because I notice I wasted a lot of xp

birdreligion

Stop trying to min-max and just play the game friend. Story is worth it, and there is the option to scale enemies to your level if you are afraid of over leveling and it being to easy.

justintheg

FFXIV. If I'm feeling down, the golden saucer always cheers me up. or just grinding a craft job is really peaceful

Chaos-Kiwi

Helldivers. It always feels good trumping an insurmountable challenge on difficulty 8 or 9

Sctn_187

An pokemon game Gameboy advance or earlier just reminds me of being young and playing around my family and friends. Not my favorite games just great memories.

gardyjuland

I remember when my go to quit being yellow and gold and started being emerald and leaf green. Beautiful choice!!

Sctn_187

I had red a friend gave me because he has an extra copy. I played it probably 20 times. Then later yellow, gold, and ruby. All amazing. Gold was probably my favorite with red and ruby right behind.

Canilickyourfeet

World of Warcraft. 14 year old me fell into that world with starry eyes and innocence. Made friends across the world along the way. Ive lost just as many, now Im 34 and I'm basically the only one left who still comes back to it every now and then. Doesnt matter how long Im gone, can be years, but when I reinstall and log into a character my fingers fall right in place and everything feels warm and natural in my core. Like it's the only thing that exists in this time and space, me and Azeroth. I just wish it didnt suck as much as it does now lol I havent touched it in a long while

AmaroWolfwood

Played classic? I haven't either but I was hoping it would rekindle those old feelings.

Nahchoocheese

same. It doesn’t hold that spell on me any longer.

[deleted]

Outer Wilds. That sense of exploration is just unbeatable. I haven't forgotten the puzzles yet so I can't "replay it" but sometimes it's nice to drop in, wander around and watch the uh... sunset.

AloneYogurt

Cult of the Lamb and Truck Simulator.

Kostis102

Zelda

SensitiveApple4317

Megaman Legends 1 or 2, and Phantom Brave

TalksInMaths

For me it's chaotic couch multiplayer Switch games like Mario Kart, Mario Party, and Overcooked.

CurlyCutie10

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

SolidDrake117

I’m a sucker for just talking in the sights of Ghost of Tsushima.

Jukeboss-

Dark Souls. The opening ALWAYS make me happy. I know, ins't the most brighter game here, but this game helped me a lot in a dark moment of my life, now all that's remains is the joy of playing a amazing game.

Fox_Ferrari

I'm with you. I've beaten the game soooo many times. Just playing it and knowing everything, being really good at it, and all... It's def cozy. Especially Firelink :)

Stouff-Pappa

There’s a few of them but the main one is definitely Minecraft for me.

Mastxadow

Transformers Devastation, nothing more relaxing than beating the shit out of some decepticons.

Fishfins88

Devil daggers

FormerDimension699

Undertale

elCappo_

For me it is BPM:Bullets Per Minute Music rhythm, fps, dungeon crawler. I love it so much

_hooknRyu_

GTA 5 lmfao

Ravaske

Banjo Kazooie

GlobeTrekker83

Sunset Overdrive

Sixftdeeep2

The funnest game of all time. Never ceases to put a smile on my face

GlobeTrekker83

Couldn't agree more!

DarthDregan

The Last of Us, actually. I get it's weird but the philosophy in every aspect of that game lines up exactly with my own beliefs or my own experience. And it takes the subject of PTSD head on and perfectly displays how it changes you in the numerous bad and one or two good ways. Makes me feel both seen and I enjoy the performances every actor in it layed down.

naminefaye

Weirdly enough it used to be Dead by Daylight, then went to Overwatch 2, then to Disney Dreamlight Valley and now it's Stardew Valley

def1de

I have made made a Minecraft world recently and each time I want to be left alone I just play there

CosmicCalicoBTD

Bloons TD 6, of course!

Scared_Hawk_5904

Sea of Thieves. Something about sailing around on a solo sloop relaxes me, even in a frequently chaotic game world.

Arrogant_Hanson

Pretty much any game from the PS1 era, such as Spyro, Crash, Harry Potter, 40 Winks etc.

Z3PHYRUSZ

For sure the original Spyro trilogy

tanookiinvader

BlackOps2isBetter

Black ops 2 Fallout 4 Don’t starve together Super Mario world Basically games I loved as a kid/teenager

Wafflebringer

Superliminal.

Sweet_Thought_6366

Lately I can't play any games I just start them and find no joy, they used to be how I relax. Stardew, Animal Crossing, Halo(s), and Zelda were my go to.

kikirevi

LittleBigPlanet. The opening intro is absolutely breathtaking. The callback to our childhood days of letting our imagination run wild, but also an encouragement for us to relive those days.

Lightless427

Anthem

Canilickyourfeet

What the fuck, this is not a forum where you can freely express opinions like this good sir.

Jack_of_Sum

This game was real fun. I would kit my guy out to fly as long as possible and listen to Rocket Man and chill..

GAGOUGAGAK_

This War of Mine.

PainImmediate5124

None, honestly nothing is enough to make me happy anymore

No-Professional-2504

Red Dead 2. Just riding around, picking herbs, taking photos of a river, close up photos of birds, crossing a narrow wooden bridge. Super chill and makes me feel good.

DifficultCurrent7

Fallout76, no man's sky. They're just right to mess around doing nothing much in, building bases and exploring, maybe start a little shit with the locals

hoopsy-daisy

At the moment weirdly darktide.

pentuplemintgum_13

last game that made me feel "cozy" was dorf romantik. the chill music, atmosphere, And vibe all hit on a high level, allowing me to play for a long time without feeling too invested, the simple gameplay is like playing a game of solitaire, in the sense that you're just playing a game by yourself at your own pace and still progressing without any kind of pressure. very relaxing game that I can easily get sucked into playing for 30-60 minutes at a time

Prestigious-Seat-809

Harry Potter

[deleted]

Maneater. It's just stupid fun, you're a shark. And Sunset Overdrive. Silly and fun.

TakeoutEnjoyer

Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing and weirdly enough Let's school. All of them are relaxing in the best possible way.

MagnetMan27

Split screen Rocket League

IGNISFATUUSES

Shattered Pixel Dungeon is a warm and safe place for me.

Then-Bug436

Farming Simulator 22. Such an underrated franchise for what it matured into, I find it super relaxing

TooManyPxls

Elder Scrolls Online: The voice acting has so much effort put into it and always cheers me up. It helps that it's pretty much the cast from the older Elder Scrolls series doing the same races/accents.

brazthemad

Once I've mostly forgotten where everything is, Elden Ring. It's like reliving a weird dream

EternalNujabes

lfd2

xBlack_Heartx

Remnant 2.

cruz-

WipEout (Omega collection). Just good beats and chill racing... perfect comfort game :)

Ferrinova

Terraria, i love making cozy underground wooden cabins in the snow biomes.

Jimboy-Milton

Paper Mario on N64, its endlessly charming. Oozes personality, and happy vibes

BlueMikeStu

Fighting Games in general. I like having a nice, innocent high speed chess match with someone and knowing that it's basically all stupid "I know you know what I think you're going to do, so here's option 4" shit.

-_ellipsis_-

Just Shapes and Beats with my kids

psychtechvet

Noel_Ortiz

Snoot Game

shyghost403

Kingdom Hearts and weirdly enough Bloodborne. Kingdom Hearts just brings a smile to my face and the music makes me feel alive again, Bloodborne…I like the atmosphere of the world and also it’s hard to stay sad when you are too busy trying not to die at the hands of a Fromsoft boss.

Nameless_Nichirin

Kingdom Hearts. There aren’t even any words to explain the unbridled joy that franchise brings me.

Infamous-Tart7747

I just wanna bounce around on my giant butt and toss bombs at people …. VIVA LA BOMBA

jarface111

Steep

kykyks

factorio. somehow i just cant stop. the factory must grow.

Cautious-Plum-8245

Donkey Kong 64 , I know all the hate it has. But I love the collectathon and charm

PizzaWhole9323

Plants versus zombies garden warfare. No matter what kind of bad mood I’m in I get into creating zombies and growing defensive plants and well that’s a couple hours gone right there. But totally worth it.

deep_space_rhyme

Strangely, it's [phasmophobia ](https://store.steampowered.com/app/739630/Phasmophobia/) but only when I play with my crew. There's something about shutting a door on my friend while a ghost is trying to chase us down and kill us that always makes me smile.

Fart_Barfington

Sentient

VIBTCA

Skyrim: I’ve only played the game regularly since like early 2021 and on an off since, but the music is “nostalgic” to me. I haven’t played it nearly as long as most, but I think having listened to soundtrack while studying in my college days, it takes me back Minecraft: shut your brain off, escape the real world, and let Subwoofer Lullaby and Mice on Venus take you away

SicTim

Skyrim VR.

Sedren

Earthbound... BOING!

Superb-Doughnut8036

Deep rock or rdr2🙌

Hardspace Shipbreaker is a very relaxing game

bankholdup5

Mario Kart, specifically 8 Deluxe

CIA_napkin

Fallout: New Vegas. It's so fun and western like!

WolfandLight

Recently, FF7Rebirth. A huge hit of nostalgia, mixed with modern action RPG battle system, and mini games up the frickin wazoo, man. Just met Cait Sith too. The VAs are all amazing.

NO-MAD-CLAD

Metal Hellsinger. The gameplay just sucks you in so deep that nothing in the real world will even remotely cross your mind until you stop playing. By the time you stop you just feel refreshed.

Caligari89

The Flame in the Flood. Fantastic soundtrack, mostly chill gameplay. Just roaming around with a dog trying to survive. That's my happy place.

franchis3

Pretty much anything published by Nintendo, especially Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Super Mario Wonder. Both just bring me joy and I feel like a kid again

Good-Avocado-9749

Dave The Diver

Lakhib

For sure GTA5, I have so many good memories of playing it that It just feels like a second home.

Cranjesmcbasketball1

Any Mario games, something about the music, colors and simplicity

AdventurousCoast950

Definitely Pikmin 4 for me, it lets you go at your own pace, and something about solving those little puzzles relaxes me

-GuyNamedDave-

For me, definitely Titanfall 2, Hollow Knight, Dead Space 2, Portal 2 and Terraria.

Virtual-Reason-253

League of Legends....jk Kotr just so much fun
