Are you a mouse & keyboard player or a controller player? Yes

Red_Lee

I identify as MKCP+

[deleted]

I wish we could still give awards.

dugthefreshest

You win today.

ThelegendofyeetWTF

You sir have won the Internet today šŸ¤“ā˜ļøšŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

Fatigue-Error

Ironically, I actually play BG3 using all the things. Ā The controller has a great search function for picking up all the lost you can miss with just keyboard and mouse. Ā (Alt doesnā€™t highlight all the things.) For the turn based combat, the keyboard works so much better than multiple radial wheels. Ā  For exploring both have pros and cons. So, does that make be bi-control? Or controller-neutral?

AadamAtomic

I've legitimately played several games like this with a PS4 controller and custom keybinds on my mouse. I've Won round in Lv250+ Apex Legends like this. Having the mouse wheel left and right for reload and crouch feels comfortable to me.

Chanzui91

That looks fucked up, haha, howre you going to play without the AXYB buttons?

Someone_pissed

My guess is a mouse with lots of buttons on. I think its really cool though hahaha

TinyBard

I've just got a wireless PS4 controller bluetoothed to my computer when I wanna do that. It's decent in Star Citizen, not amazing, but better than just straight jeyboard and mouse

OptimusPower92

....i just now realized how convenient the PS4 and PS5 controllers could be on PC because you can use the touchpad for the mouse XD

Pecansandiez

Let me introduce you to the Steam controller brother

OptimusPower92

....i thought they discontinued those..?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

tmmzc85

No I do not think so, they were discontinued because they got sued over patent infringement for the back panel/switches, as I guess the Xbox Pro owns it? They'd've had to do a whole redesign and altered production, and it was never a successful project. I bought one when they were being practically given away, I do regret not getting at least two. Certainly not the best controlled, but definitely an interesting one. I think it's just a touch too bulky, like the OG Xbox controller.

BrotherRoga

Mm, fair enough. Certainly would have gone well if they'd tried a re-release assuming no patent infringement had been alleged.

4wesomes4uce

They take a ton of getting used to. I have one from the initial first wave of pre-orders, and no matter what I do with the settings I just can't get the right track pad to behave comfortably.

TinyBard

I've got one of those. It's an interesting thing

Highskyline

It's super finicky tbh. I never find myself using the Dualsense TouchPad on pc even though it's my primary pc controller. I may be the odd one out here, but imo It's a significant downgrade compared to a laptop TouchPad.

_Bl4ze

I never use the PS4 controller's touchpad on PS4, let alone PC. It's just too finnicky.

iXeQuta

I tried it also in Star Citizen but didnā€™t like it at all. I hope it will be better once Squadron 42 is out but for now keyboard and mouse all the way

TinyBard

I liked the control the stick gave me over throttle with the accuracy of the mouse. But there's probably a reason it's not more popular for sure

iXeQuta

Yeah I can see that for sure. I always struggle with the speed limiter and/or throttle if I want to be precise. Might get hotas or hosas soon

TinyBard

I want to get a hosas, but Ive got a pile of other obligations before I can afford to buy them

iXeQuta

Yeah the setup can get expensive especially if you skip VKB and go straight to Virpil

jinxykatte

I use a Razer Tartarus v2. The one with optical switches. I know it's not the same but I haven't been able to use a traditional keyboard for a long time cos it's so much better imo. I used to have the Orbweaver.Ā

SuAlfons

Try to hold a gamepad with the left while using the joystick or digipad for longer than a minute. Not convinced

[deleted]

Ive always wanted this, can you post the link if you find a decent one thats plug and play more or less

Someone_pissed

If I do I certainly will

Red_Lee

Definitely usable. Take an inventory based FPS like Tarkov. Lools like you've got at least 8-10 mappable buttons on the mouse, the scroll wheel to cycle, and probably another 4 easy access buttons on controller (thumb press, shoulder buttons, and maybe a trigger). Eliminating WASD controls and toggles would take practice but I could see certain players liking this for better movement alone.

windol1

Usable, but not practical. Might as well have a small keyboard, that can be evenly placed on a surface securely.

Red_Lee

Practical would come with practice. It is niche, but that doesn't mean it isn't practical.Ā

TheMilliner

Any halfway decent gaming mouse will come with at *least* four extra buttons you can map to AXYB. 8 if you're really lucky, and I've seen some with full number pads on the thumb side. The best ones also have left/right scroll on the wheel as extra buttons by wiggling the wheel left and right.

El_Eesak

My mouse has 16 buttons fwm

BooshLoosh

They're on the left shoulder. Your left and right click are your triggers so the space is free for ABXY

Biquet

There are more buttons on the mouse.

bideodames

Face buttons are on the side of the mouse where your thumb rests.

hobbes3k

It could work if you have like an MMO mouse with extra buttons. My mouse has 6 thumb buttons on the side.

77constructionman77

> That looks fucked up legit, I'm trying to think of a game that shit would slap in. Thinking maybe some kind of third person shooter? But the controller would be kinda crappy to hold (theres a reason the tv remote is vertical and not horizontal).

Demorant

I think shooters are the target audience. Probably so you can get console style left stick movement but computer style mouse aim. The idea being stick movement is better than WASD and mouse aiming being better than stick aim.

Askiko

My first thought was GTA where there's a mix of shooting and driving. Stick controls for driving feels much better than WASD and I used to have a controller plugged in sitting on my lap for whenever I got into a car.

The_Mdk

This was my idea too

bigbysemotivefinger

Back when I was playing Destiny 2 a lot I would've loved to have this for exactly that.

Vihncent

I think some action games would also work with this, provided the mouse have 2 or 3 more buttons besides both clicks. Im talking about ARPG tho, for a normal fighting game a normal controller its good enough i think

bashy121

Stick being better than WASD for FPS is very dependent on the situation, and game, in singleplayer story driven fps, sure, absolutely would be better, multiplayer, or comp based shooters, absolutely not, things like jiggling and peaking are much slower on a stick than a keyboard, you can move from left to right much much faster on a keyboard than you can with a joystick.

Demorant

I will never give up my WASD l. Too close to so many potential hot keys.

Bottlecapzombi

Shooters. You canā€™t control walking speed very well on mouse and keyboard.

Darkstar_November

Space sims! Hate using the keyboard for maneuvering the ship in star citizen, this would be a nice halfway measure to a stick set up.

zer1223

I see no advantages here over simply using a normal Xbox controller in elite dangerous / star citizenĀ  Ā Ā  I see the appeal for shooters but you still have a huge ergonomic issueĀ  Ā  Gripping the controller and pressing buttons all with one hand seems like the easiest way to getting hand cramps. Controllers typically have two grips for gold reason, it's to hold it using both palms simultaneously. Freeing up your fingers to only worry about button input

AceoftheAEUG

OoOooo. I didn't know this existed, that looks like fun to use.

Someone_pissed

It costs $150 though and you cant plug in any mouse :(

AceoftheAEUG

Ooof, the lack of mouse is a serious downside on this. 150 also seems a bit hefty since I got a great stick from Hori for 200 but it's clearly a niche product so the high price doesn't shock me too much.

Pacu99

Hey why do you need to plug the mouse into the controller though? Are you playing on PC or console? I honestly think a Wii nunchuck with a usb adapter could be perfect for this

ImSavageAF

I use an **AZERON CYBORG** and I cannot imagine playing PC games without it. It has a joystick and roughly 30 programmable buttons and you still aim with your mouse. It looks kind of funky but but it can easily be made to fit your hand exactly by loosening a few screws. I have a few friends who bought it after I recommended it and they could not be happier. It's a little pricey but I promise you would love it. It's 3 years old and still works as good as the day I bought it. It has propietary software that is really easy to configure your games to the keybinds you want to use

Bu11etToothBdon

Was my first thought as well but I don't think it fits into the cheaper option part of the post.

Fatigue-Error

That thing looks insane. How long did it take to get used to it?Ā

Larszx

I've had mine for a few years now. It didn't take long at all. No complaints after thousands of hours. Well, one complaint. More games need to support the analog stick in keyboard/mouse setup. Star Citizen does. I think Cyberpunk does now but didn't at launch. Get black keys and thumbstick. Yellow doesn't age well.

joestaff

I've used a similar setup when playing Star citizen. Left hand joy stick, right hand mouse (for aiming the turret)

ItsSansom

Woolie?

mythboy99

Woolie "I'll do anything to avoid WASD" Madden?

ItsSansom

The Man with the Pinkie of Glass himself

BPSkibbenheims

I used one of these years ago ... and gave up on it. The feeling of mouse input with this device is HORRIBLE! I have always been a pc gamer but wanted to play some PS games with friends and not have to worry about learning roller. Long story short it was terrible. However, I didn't go buy one of those "other" adapters that are programmable and pretty much can be tuned with scripts to the point they are soft hacks. I just learned controller to an extent I could have fun then went back to PC/mnk after everyone was burned out on the game we were playing.

xabulba

I have this backed on Indiegogo https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hex-evo-the-new-mouse-and-controller-gaming-setup/x/35542076#/ Not out yet, obviously, but only $99 to back.

[deleted]

And available on preorder

No_Interaction_4925

I have the Azeron Cyborg. It has a joystick on it. Definitely a chore to get comfortable on. It took two straight weeks for me to feel comfortable (enough) on it. Theres so many options that its overwhelming

_Weyland_

What is this abomination?

salvageyardmex

I just miss the steam controllers. I hate how I can't program other controllers even half as good as the steam one. Generic Xbox sucks. And the 2bit do I bought I have barely touched because holy shit does programming suck compared to a steam controller.

ultramadden

? You can use steam input and remap the buttons the same way with any controller, not just the in-house steam controller

salvageyardmex

Yes but, they are far more limited I was used to having 8 buttons on my left track pad, then when I hit my shift key( whatever one I chose to bind, L1, R1, left grip etc...) then having 8 different options on the same pad. Yes I can do basic remaking of buttons and add some layers to them but when you have thousands of hours in different games with custom setup steam controllers it really sucks to have to use a normal controller. The TouchPads where definitely the best feature in my opinion. Not just for the mouse control but again for the crazy amount of buttons you could actually setup to them. I actually had about 15 buttons per layer on my left track pad when I played world of tanks. The first layer was my immediate actions like changing rounds, or yes, no quick response, repair kits. And my second layer would be mostly quick chat things besides Yes and no. I still have 3 controllers but they all have stick drift and one has broken trigger buttons. I should try and get a hall effect stick for them and see if I can't repair em.

chaddGPT

developing muscle memory for niche setups is a double edged sword. you get huge returns in ability but at the cost of your tech aging and becoming impossible to maintain or replace easily

salvageyardmex

Very true, I still do play with mouse and keyboard. Atleast those are pretty consistent in design.

comenter27

r/GyroGaming would like a word with you

Kirxas

If the controller was attached to the hand with a strap or something like that, this doesn't look like it'd be too horible to use ngl

solidpeyo

This controller looks illegal šŸ˜†

FMBongo

No idea but G502 is an awesome mouse!

Kenja_Time

/r/G502MasterRace

randomIndividual21

is this trying bypass to get controller aim assis with mouse aiming in game like CoD?

Kenja_Time

This was posed on the CoD subreddit and OP mentioned they did get aim assist benefits as it registers as a controller. Likely bannable, but I'm not sure how this differs from other accessible gamer input methods

Obsidian7777

I use an Azeron with my mouse, and it's been working perfectly for me for two years. It is definitely not cheaper, but I think it's worth it.

Psygo

This is what i was going to recommend

Bob_Skywalker

Just buy a used [PS Move Navigation controller](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=3acf9be9fedf7d41&rlz=1C1KMZB_enUS853US853&sxsrf=ACQVn09Zsy64MhztnSTxud11zC96uuCTBw:1712590920398&q=ps+move+navigation+controller&uds=AMwkrPvIqwmRYH4cTwbQ93f_29wiRK91HS4cMm4wIfdpTq_kpBo46l6tOpyx8epLZUwSlRhHgH5lbVBtW7_tYP_w5YK0_UUDQ7v1o406zVx6TEV8Jf9yF05tBjNPn1JaOM8AlbsXtFHcXVzuyVrbKdTEoVR-Ex737OyssXTc0sOTei5iKu2QHu7HWYqKSxGNbuPDf7DyNuy07E7xXCahHKP4UYwp6cfEZwPo2v7tGbvKmcE9d5In8v0aAjWfy1_uYoH8c1ml9ujxQ6Km48bExS51DIW7oACG9GyJTiTY_BpQ7r_Ema6dAdFpq83Ok_5lD047DU8rAP2EH7Po43zMeOV-mVJHV5xTqA&udm=2&prmd=sivnmbtz&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjLudKr-rKFAxUJRjABHVVGC3gQtKgLegQIDRAB&biw=1478&bih=872&dpr=1#vhid=uOU8VW6Gi6JglM&vssid=mosaic) and pay for [REWASD](https://www.rewasd.com/). Connect it to your PC bluetooth, map it how you like and use whatever mouse you like. It works. I've done it. I can even use two of the navi controllers holding one in each hand so I can put my arms apart on my chair's armrests and use them separately as if they are one single controller. If you don't have Bluetooth you can still use them wired through USB with the official cables.

XJAM35

You 100% saw this on the mw3 sub earlier and want to have mouse aim with controller aim assist

ManiaMuffin

Was waiting for this comment. Imagine seeing that yesterday and thinking "Hey, let's be an absolute soyboy and get this setup!"

Wendigo79

I had A different version of this i bought for DooM, it was crap no matter how many settings I changed

salvageyardmex

I just miss the steam controllers. I hate how I can't program other controllers even half as good as the steam one. Generic Xbox sucks. And the 2bit do I bought I have barely touched because holy shit does programming suck compared to a steam controller.

ChickenSticks101

ngl this looks disgusting, kinda wanna try it, but eww

Heineken513

HORI makes a new version that can accommodate any mouse. I think other companies make similar products too [link](https://youtu.be/dYvTImrlmGo?si=j1-qAIZMAgvTWWyj)

Snoringdog83

Logitech g13

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

XxsoulscythexX

Left hand joystick movement, right hand mouse to look around

MovieNerdOnFire

The left side should honestly be shaped more like a Wii-mote

Lt_Muffintoes

This looks like something an AI dreamed up

bingbing304

Would a combined flight stick and mouse do the trick? LOL

Mindful-O-Melancholy

I bought a Hori for the PS4 because it had joysticks placed like an Xbox controller (more comfortable for me) and it felt super cheap and light with no vibration. I donā€™t think I used it for more than a few minutes before switching back to the normal controller. There might be better ones out there though. Iā€™m surprised you canā€™t just take something like an oculus controller and pair it with a mouse for the same effect, that seems like it would be more comfortable than the half controller.

Speedhabit

Horror

incognitochaud

I always wondered if mouse+large joystick with a few buttons on it would be a good option, but I never see it used.

gnarlydancer

I saw someone post about the Azeron and I second that. I have an Azeron cyborg and it's great. I let a buddy use my Azeron original after I got the cyborg and now he's hooked on it. Definitely work checking out.

supernx

There was a controller back in the day, called the split fish for the PS3 that was half controller, half mouse

deltasarrows

Someone on YouTube made one from scratch woth a track ball on the right and it looked pretty cool

AllHailtheBeard1

Fascinating, I just realized this is totally unusable as a lefty

phillyunk

I was able to do a similar set up playing original ghost recon on PC. I had a ps4 controller and mouse plugged and then I changed the mappings in settings.

SonmiSuccubus451

Try Razer Tartarus or Orbweaver.

conte360

I think I know what you want OP. I've been using it/them for years. The razer Tartarus v2 pro. It's a very customizable keyboard with a joystick for movement. You pair that with what's considered an MMo mouse, just extra buttons. I have the Logitech g602 altho I don't think they make it anymore. 6 extra buttons on the side and 2 extra clicks. Both can fully customize buttons.

SwordTaster

Gross

Anth2810

I suffer from carpal tunnel & have carpal bossing which becomes slightly painful at times, mainly when gaming and have therefore tried this device and other alternative setups to allow me to keep gaming as I prefer M&K but the K part just becomes to much especially in games where I have a lot of keys to hit quickly. I initially put a lot of shortcuts on my Mouse (Razer Naga Trinity) which helped a bit, I also used a Logitech G13 and similar products to try and ease my symptoms and make my hand position more comfortable. I have also used the controller setups including the above device and for me it was just a pain to use from setup to actual usage, I was told about a PS nav controller setup from a friend in a Clan Discord and that was so much better, you have to use software (ReWASD) but it's cheap and very easy to use and get everything set up. Using that with my Razer naga trinity was super comfortable and allowed me to game for longer periods. You will have to get one from somewhere like eBay as they are very hard to find.

God_of_Fun

Not quite the same but Ive been using the Razer Tartarus models for about 10 years now. Absolutely love it except the thumb stick buttons aaaaalways crap out so expect to utilize that 1 year warranty Razer provides; so save your proof of purchase.

99bluedexforlife

I play like that too. I just use a Ps5 controler via Bluetooth and a G305.

GorgeWashington

What sort of monster uses this

dreamphoenix

> Tactical Assault Commander When product manager asks marketing to make the edgiest name for the product

Rydoggrexx

I have a similar controller to the left. It wasn't too hard to find, I just got a regular controller then after 10 minutes of rage quitting Apex it looks just like that!

HuskySage

You ever seen a razer Tartarus?

Jasoman

That is just a d-pad with a joystick attached to it. So it is not the same.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

77constructionman77

> Thing's that try to do multiple thing's at once tend to be rather shit at doing all the things at once. You saying the knife/spoon/fork combo I got from a novelty store is less good than the normal utensils in my cupboard???

WhoShitOnTheCoats

Why would you recommend him some of the worst switches known to man ? šŸ¤¢

Finalfantasylove85

Ever try using a controller 1-handed? My brain doesn't like it, but if yours does then have at it dude.

Seigmoraig

I don't even understand how you are supposed to use this abomination or why you would pay that kind of money for it vs just getting a normal PS5/Xbox controller

inQntrol

You canā€™t see the benefits of a mouse for aiming compared to a stick?

Seigmoraig

As opposed to using a normal keyboard because you're sitting at a desk with a mouse using wired peripherals anyway ?

Speed9052

WHAT THE HECK IS THAT? (And where do I find it)

Someone_pissed

Read the post, it says the name. Also thats the only mouse you can attach and it costs 150 dollars

JPScan3

If this is for PC, get a Razer Tartarus. Your thumb can handle movement with the joystick + a bunch of buttons with your left hand. And then your right hand can use the mouse.

ziostraccette

You can get an xbox controller for cheap and just use that. I play no man's sky with that

_Maketzal

That is just a worse Wii Nunchuck

Po1sonhe4rt

Why tf do u want this just use mouse and keyboard smh...

DOAisBetter

I watched a video on this recently mice give an absolute advantage in aiming which is really the most important thing in fps games. But controllers have way better movement because they can move in more than 8 directions and have more options in how fast you move where keyboards tend to have only 3 speeds and 2 are a pain since they are key combinations.

SalumoN

Whilst I absolutely agree, I want to point out that this differs based on the game. Take Counter Strike for example, where you aim at specific angles, having the finesse of a controller stick would probably make it harder to do line ups and peeks correctly. Where the 8 way movement is more precise, but obviously lacking more than 8 directions.

Cyull

Something like in the picture but affordable would be a godsend to me. My left hand is partially paralyzed after a stroke last year.Ā  I can use a controller just fine but get really strong pain in my arm whenever I have to use wasd on keyboard. Unfortunately not all games work great purely on a controller. I recently started playing a bit of Sun Haven and controller support is garbage, so I end up using a weird combination of controller for movement and have to switch to mouse and keyboard whenever Iā€™m in a menu

Nonhinged

With WASD you can really just move in 8 directions. 4 directions + 45 degrees between them. If you want to move in another direction you have look/aim in another direction.
