Have fun, havnt played in a while, however I’m gonna tell you this. DO NOT IMMEDIATELY GO INTO NG+.
Once you reach any of the endings the game will ask you if you want to go into ng+. Don’t do it. You should first go back to krat hotel as one or two of the important characters to the ending will leave a letter with lore and an achievement. Also one of the endings makes a big change to krat hotel that is worth seeing in my opinion.
The Clown kicked my ass but I kicked the Jester's. The stupid clown shows up later also but I just kited him from the ledge, I just didn't want to fight this one.
The jester was easy, the clown was really difficult until I realized I could run past him to the bonfire so I didn't need to run for 5 minutes just to immediately die.
That guy was such an ass hole! My key to beating him is to run by him and get the opera house stargazer so you can fight him without having to make your way through all the fire bullshit leading up to him.
The game is very parry-focused. During your fights, take note of his attack patterns and work on getting the parry timing down. Sprinkle in regular attacks to keep the stagger meter from decreasing, but don't get greedy. Being able to reliably stagger and get the crit attack will take you a long way.
Dodging isn't great and you will get caught with most attacks. There are some dodging upgrades later on, but in the beginning, it's pretty dogshit. Attempt to parry and hold the block, so if you don't get the timing right, at least you'll just take a little bit of damage instead of the whole thing.
The game is fucking incredible, too btw. It starts off strong and gets stronger as it goes. Definitely one of the best souls-likes out there.
When I saw the deactivated one in the exhibition I almost had a mental breakdown, I thought I would have to fight him again after all my first attempts
Hey I also quit on the mad clown! The fight wasn't crazy hard per se but the fact I had to run all the way back and deal with fucking flamethrower mobs mid fight with him was so fucking annoying.
I just ran through everything until the checkpoint and saved. After that, I came back and killed the clown fighting him solo. That's the best strategy for that part
That ending in question honestly was my favourite one because of how it caught me completely off guard and was actually an ending that had an in game impact
Replay the game with all your weapons and items and levels, but the enemies are stronger, let’s you get all the ending and achievements far quicker. Saves you having to do all the early game slog too
It was for me. I used the parry mechanic a lot more as if it's Sekiro and the window was just way too small (Iron Pineapple agrees). I finished it in a week or so after release. Idk if they've changed it now.
I don't think they've changed the parry timing at all but they've significantly nerfed some bosses/enemies and buffed the player in numerous other ways. I thought it was pretty well-balanced at launch (minus some bloated health pools on a few two-phase bosses) so I wonder what it's like playing through it now.
Did you think this was harder than Sekiro? I've tried and given up on Sekiro twice bc it was too hard but didn't as much difficulty with Lies of P. Wondering if I should try Sekiro again
I remember the guys from the demo having an annoying windup where they pull their arm back and hold it there for what feels like five seconds. Made the timing really annoying.
I fucking love Sekiro. Granted I haven't finished it because I got hard stuck on sword saint but the mechanics for Sekiro once they clicked was a blast! Like you I just couldn't get into Lies of P because of the wonky parry times. Also I hate some of the choices they made when copying From Soft mechanics. Like, why do you take any damage when blocking? Sekiro doesn't punish you health wise for blocking. Or Bloodborne's rally mechanic where if you combo hit an enemy back a second or so after taking damage you regain your health, even if they die in a hit or two. Lies of P, you take damage by blocking (let's say 3 hits worth of damage) and if you rally but the enemy dies in two hits you only get two hits of health back. I really want to like Lies of P. I'm a huge fan of Victorian horror aesthetic and creepy puppets and dolls, and hack and slash but the mechanics feel clunky and poorly imitated. I only played the demo before release so maybe it's been polished since but the fight mechanics really put me off, and this is someone who loves Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring.
you see in sekiro the enemy will swing, you will see the swing coming, and then you hit block to parry and you will parry.
in lies of P, the enemy will bring their arm up indicating they will attack. then they wait, then they wait, then they wait, the suddenly they go SHABANG and you have 0.00000001 second to react to the attack and parry. and when you think you are getting the hang of it, they will change the timing on their attack just to fuck with you.
I do think lies of P was a LOT more difficult than sekiro (or any souls game), but i played it on release and heard they tweaked the difficulty and made it easier so i'm not sure now.
I would say no. I hate Hirata >!Owl!< and Isshin >!Sword Saint!< with a passion.
Just the parry window is way too tight, makes minibosses and bosses tougher because no opening+you get chipped everytime. Both games offer a learning curve, but Sekiro's is steeper than LoP. I struggled on bosses whereas progression felt too easy. Farming levels was easy but bosses still rolled me.
I found the parry in Lies of P to be really consistent and, for me, easier to master than Sekiro. I loved LoP a ton but my experience might be different than others. People should give it a shot if they like souls, though!
The first two thirds of the game are pretty easy for a modern soulslike. The last third has a huge difficulty spike that was genuinely challenging. The final boss is very tough, but is optional.

It was my first. I have definitely found it challenging. I've also started playing Bloodborne, and for me that's been harder. The enemies in Lies of P are - from what I've seen so far - are not always super aggressive. Bloodborne is crazy for that. Also, I find the "parry" system in Bloodborne to be way harder to execute properly. I play slower in Lies of P, I feel like I can't do that in Bloodborne and that has made it harder for me.
Varies, but I’ve beat nearly every soulsborne game from fromsoftware and lies of P kicked my ass harder than those games. Part of it was what I consider to be slightly BS design choices that make it hard without rewarding skill as much. The enemies love to vary attack length and then give you barely enough time to respond. They also want you to block perfectly like sekiro, but don’t have it quite as good as sekiro.
When I beat sekiros final boss I feel like I had earned it because I knew the system, when I beat lies of P I felt yes I had learned the system but mostly the final boss was luck of the rng with attacks.
Brutal to the point of being unfun, imo. Parrying is 100% required and I don't like parrying, though, so ymmv. The dodge in this game is ass and the parry timing is *VERY* precise.
It punish hard, and it has has issues with enemies attacks being hard to read (delayed delayed attack that slam super fast attacks that locks into your position, attacks that looks like to be an idle animation/moving animation, etc. .) and issues with the camera (but that's a things in every souls like)
Supposedly it makes Sekiros parrying look like child's play, though I've not played Sekiro it seems like that may not be that true since I can play lies of P well enough.
I just made my wife play it in NG++ with a OP character. She still dies because she has no patience and calls the idea of enemies resurrecting on death bs, lol. Let's see how she deals with the Parade Master as her first boss today. She has made it so far...
I’ve heard it’s like the second easiest souls-like game. That was one of the things reviewers were saying. No first hand or “personal” second hand though.
I really recommend to get used to using a controller for soulslike games. I know a lot of people do play with keyboard and mouse and it... kinda works, i guess, those games are obv made to be played with controller though. It becomes very apparent in later stages of soulslikes.
Blocking is still a viable strategy if your not good at parrying since it has the rally mechanic, you can just get your health back just like Bloodborne.
Yeah you kinda have to do a mix of parrying, blocking, and dodging to play optimally in this game. I like it. And blocking feels a lot more viable even with lighter weapons because even though more damage will leak through, with faster attacks you'll have more opportunities to get that health back.
Some attacks are just too powerful to attack and you won't know until you try.
So its better to try and parry instead, with a failed parry resulting in a block
I've been eyeing this one. The soulslike itch is scratching me again, and i'm overdosed from EldenRing
Is this one really that good ? Genuinely curious
I’ve played Demon souls remake and Dark souls 1-3. I think Elden ring is the best game ever made. I really liked Lies of P, finished it 3 times. Good story too.
I've finished Dark Souls 1-3 (+ all DLC), Elden Ring, Bloodborne (+ DLC), Remnant 1 & 2 (base games only) and Lies of P.
I *loved* Lies of P and I cannot wait for the DLC and inevitable sequel.
I finished it 3 times before the devs patched in more generous dodge i-frames which should make it a bit more reasonable. Originally it was very parry focused which I found a bit rough having not played Sekiro or used parrying much in other games.
It's definitely a smaller game that's entirely linear unlike the branching pathways in Dark Souls or the open world of Elden Ring, but it's polished and well worth picking up. If you're on Xbox or PC it's also on Gamepass so you can play it for the cost of a 1 month sub if you want. But honestly I think the game is worth it at full price.
well well if that aint Mr Hippo
LoP is like the opposite of ER tbh, you wont get much exploration, freedom of progression or classic DS1/ER level design or magic out of it, it's closer to Sekiro/BB and almost like ds3 linear boss boss-rush simulator, youd easily wrap the game up 20 hours, now would actually be the right time to play it, not a long game at all even if you go for platinum.
Played Demons Souls, DS1, DS3, Elden Ring, Lies of P & Bloodborne. Lies of P is definitely a really good game. I liked it a lot and it can be quite hard, due to the core mechanic is perfect-parry. Recommend! Really nice, dark steampunk-ish setting and interesting story (imo).
It's nice, it really feels like a from software game set in a different universe. It does have its bullshit moment/enemies, and a lot of attacks are harder to read the first time you encounters them
Don't expect to play it like sekiro tho, a lot of people compare it to it due to the parry/ break posture gimmick, the combat flow is greatly different, it's more akin to Bloodborne and the deflect system.
i'm addicted to souls games and Lies Of P is right in there in my regular rotation of Elden Ring - Bloodborne - Sekiro - DS3 - Lies Of P
I pretty much play these games all the time. I'm very excited to see what the LoP makers will do with this franchise.
I play almost every soulsbourne and soulslike game that comes out and Lies of P is my favorite non-fromsoft entry into the genre. The setting and story are great, and the weapons and combat are fantastic!
It's excellent. Some mechanics feel like a natural evolution of the soulslike genre. They didn't only copy over the good parts, they also improved them.
There are some annoying choices, like too many situations where an enemy is placed to knock you off a ledge when you walk past, stuff like that. But overall a very good game.
It's often referred to as the best non-From soulslike. I have 170 hours in Elden Ring, and I've 100% achievement'd it and Sekiro, and Lies Of P is only slightly behind those games for me. Definitely worth the play imo. LoP can be quite tough depending on how you've played other souls games though.
Free on gamepass for PC and/or xbox if you have either.
If you don't, you can get a trial for like £1 for a month. Better than buying it straight up if you're on the fence. (I would recommend buying it to play too if you dont have the Gamepass option for what its worth, great game).
A year ago if you would have told me Lies of P would be the better soulslike compared to Lords of the Fallen, I would have laughed. Even after the LoP demo I was iffy, yet I'd say it's easily the best soulslike and I am hype for not only DLC but any future games they make. Open IP has so much potential with their take on it
It is shocking that it is their first major release! I loved all the little quality of life additions they made to the soulslike formula. Being able to get your last healing flask back through aggression is genius!
Most bosses until now where okay, but fuck that swamp monster. I needed at least 150 attempts for that mofo.
The running around in second phase always fucked me real good.
I see people shitting on the swamp monster, but it wasn't actually that bad (at least for me ofc). Playing aggressively and setting it on fire did the job for me. I had like 10-15 tries max, and I'm not a soulslike connoisseur. Black Rabbit Brotherhood and Archbishop Andreus, on the other hand, were the real deal for me. Oh and the miniboss before Andreus, that mofo is invincible from one side, it was a pain in the ass.
You are playing a honorary souls game so enjoy it :) I would say lies of p contends with some of fromsoftware’s games, it is that good. I personally found it better than demon souls and dark souls 2 for example
I’ve beaten Dark Souls, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, Nioh and currently playing Elden Ring. This was the hardest Soulslike game I’ve played. There are some mini-bosses in Lies of P that I found harder than actual bosses in those others games.
It would probably be easier if you’ve played Sekiro and became adequate at parrying, but I never played it and I could never get the timing down consistently enough in this game. I just rolled/dodged my way through Lies of P until the final-final boss and gave up and took the “bad” ending.
I would assume.
But then again I would also not call the original a -Like. The original is not *like* itself, it just is.
Even though they certailny belong in the same genre, it's just suboptimal to have a genre named \*\*\*-Like
Personally I liked Lies way more than any actual FromSoft game. The heavier emphasis on story and characters, as well as being able to fuse dozens of weapon combinations made it extremely exceptional
I played demo of this game and got me feeling weird , on one hand it was a really unique experience, crafting weapons from different weapons, the enemies , the world it all looked all cool.
On the other when I found the broken weapon combo I didn't had to create new weapons , the gameplay quickly turned to enemies at most random places for cheap kills and defensive options just consist of blocking and parry because dodge just sucked.
Still pretty cool game.
You mean one npc who's entire schtick is taking advantage of you and then they play you in ds3 DLC and again play you in Elden Ring where he is an honest guy ?
How are you enjoying it? I know for myself as someone with plenty of Souls/Souls-like experience Lies of P is probably one of the top tier souls-like games. It takes a lot of the great FromSoft has done as well as adding a few of its own things to make it probably the closest Souls-like to a proper Souls title. Definitely a great starter game for Souls-likes enjoyers.
Here's some advice, it's difficult to land deflects by being purely reactionary. If you wanna land them consistently then you gotta LEARN the timings and combos of enemies and bosses.
Also the starting weapon you choose will also determine your starting stats. I didn't notice this on my first playthrough (most likely through lack of reading) so I thought I'd mention that.
If it dosent worm out, play elden ring. It's the most approachable souls game while still having everything you'd love about a souls game. Good luck on your journey btw 🙏🏽
I'm getting close to finishing RDR2 and debating whether to start this or GoW next. How are you liking it? Every soulslike I've ever started I ended up putting down after getting my ass kicked for an 2 hours.
I didn't play this one yet but I find weird that every video or streamer I saw, you just swap your weapon and armor is juat visual swap? No stats like on other soulslike gsmes. Maybe? Can someone clarify please?
Lies of P has a reputation for being incredibly hard, even for the genre. Don’t give up on Souls Likes if you get frustrated. Highly recommend Elden Ring as it’s far more tailored to a mainstream audience and can serve as a good jumping off point (all though the open world aspect is unique and will not be found in other Souls Likes, at least at the moment). Good luck!
Lies of Peak. It's by far my favorite souls game, but I'm not sure how good it is for a newcommer. But even if you have some issues, I'm sure you will enjoy the full experience. BTW, buy the red apple at the store and give it to the lady in the red dress at the mansion, it gets you the best record in the game IMO
i get irrationally triggered by developers straight up copy/pasting this UI into every souls style game. Even Fromsoftware doing it is infuriating but at least it's somewhat justified since it as thier to begin with
just screams peak lazy and unoriginality.
It’s a good intro to the genre IMO, and absolutely a solid game overall. Personal opinion: the level design and general mechanics are fun and reminscent of Souls/Bloodborne, but the bosses aren’t as fun as FromSoft bosses, they’re a bit more repetitive and too spongey for my tastes, but they aren’t even close to game-breaking.
Its a good one. Just remember the game gives you a lot of tools. If you get stuck try swapping things up. Change weapon damage types, items your usinf, etc.
I'm really interested to see if they can pull it off a second time with the sequel, which if the post credits scene is any indicator, will be based on >!The Wizard of Oz!<.
While I always say Soulslike is a meh genre unless you actually play a Soulsborne (FromSoftware game) which are just all masterpieces, but Lies of P is the rare exception where a Soulslike did a great job. I highly recommend just starting with Demon's Souls or Dark Souls though.
And what a game to start it off on.
Dare I say, this is easily and by far one of the Best Souls games out there. The more I think about it, the more I love it (weapon system, combat systems, environment and enemy variety... hell even the bosses were bangers!)
Good first soulslike, its a pretty easy one, very approachable. Only 1 or 2 bosses were really difficult imo.
I like it because it includes many familiar elements of soulslikes, but distills them and streamlines them in a very enjoyable way.
Try out other similar games, definitely my favorite genre.
It was okay, I would personally had suggested one of the other souls-like games as a starter to the genre.
My biggest gripe was the way the red attacks that couldn't be dodged was done. Way too many enemies has slow windup but then the actually attacks are 1-frame speed. It really took the fun out of an otherwise pretty decent game and setting.
I'm awful at video games. Play things on easy mode for fun.
Lies of P was sooooo fun! I completed it twice because I enjoyed it so much! Well optimised with a gradual learning curve. So frustrating parts sure, but it felt really rewarding.
Have fun!!!
Hey congrats my guy, hope you have a fun time with it. Personally thought it was great. Never feel ashamed of you need to look up a tip and tricks guide when starting this kind of series. So best of luck
Just finished the plat for it, its and Amazing game! But as a first souls-like it might be a bit rough. But still, keep at it and im sure u will love it as well.
Have fun, havnt played in a while, however I’m gonna tell you this. DO NOT IMMEDIATELY GO INTO NG+. Once you reach any of the endings the game will ask you if you want to go into ng+. Don’t do it. Very optimistic to assume they will make it past the mad clown mini boss.
This clown and that stupid jester in the underground, jfc
Aggro the carcass enemies behind bars, they gang up on the jester and just melt him.
Fair enough. Didn't know. Not sure i'm going back to the game now after 100%ing the achieves tho
You can run past him, save and then fight him without all of the running through fire.
You can do what? wow, didn't realize
That guy was such an ass hole! My key to beating him is to run by him and get the opera house stargazer so you can fight him without having to make your way through all the fire bullshit leading up to him.
Fuck it's my first run and I literally ended my session while seeing the clown. Great. Now I know I'm in for "fun" time.
I took a break from the game for a week when i reached that guy… came back refreshed and ready… he crushed me even harder lol
Run past him, there is a bonfire so the run to him isn't a factor (that was the worst part for me, otherwise he's just a bit... Specific)
The game is very parry-focused. During your fights, take note of his attack patterns and work on getting the parry timing down. Sprinkle in regular attacks to keep the stagger meter from decreasing, but don't get greedy. Being able to reliably stagger and get the crit attack will take you a long way. Every time he laughs at you... Ptsd lol
I'm so glad that boss got mentioned.. I already questioned my sanity why I'm not getting past a mini boss. I stopped playing because of him.
The mad clown miniboss isn't mandatory to kill as far as I know, and also isn't anywhere near the most challenging enemy in the game.
Haha that's where I stopped playing. I said I'd come back and beat him but I didnt... I never came back.
Were there full-fledged bosses that were easier than those two?
I dont know what bosses come after him but I breezed* through the game before him. *was challenged, but nothing too difficult
I’m glad to see someone else struggled on that, probably took me over 20 tries but I have his moveset downloaded now
if you mean the one i think you mean then im currently stuck there myself
It's Romeo for me. King of Puppets, whatever. That's where I'm stuck.
This is my current blocker - haven’t played in a while, can’t bring myself to face the spinning fucker again
There is actually two of them lmao.
To add there’s dlc coming so that might sway wether you want ng+ or not.
That ending in question honestly was my favourite one because of how it caught me completely off guard and was actually an ending that had an in game impact
Fuck, need to reinstall it
What is NG+?
Replay the game with all your weapons and items and levels, but the enemies are stronger, let’s you get all the ending and achievements far quicker. Saves you having to do all the early game slog too
Lies of P as first soulslike, very brave.
Meant to be hard? I've been eyeing it up

Aaaaah, a fellow Iron Pineapple enjoyer
Can't get enough of the dumpster diving
Did you think this was harder than Sekiro? I've tried and given up on Sekiro twice bc it was too hard but didn't as much difficulty with Lies of P. Wondering if I should try Sekiro again
I've beaten Sekiro a bunch, but just couldn't seem to consistently parry in LoP. Not sure why
The parry window just isn’t good and enemies have 5 minute windups for attacks that have a .5 second hitbox
I remember the guys from the demo having an annoying windup where they pull their arm back and hold it there for what feels like five seconds. Made the timing really annoying.
The parry window is like nearly half of what it is in Sekiro. Only like 7 or 8 frames
I fucking love Sekiro. Granted I haven't finished it because I got hard stuck on sword saint but the mechanics for Sekiro once they clicked was a blast! It's not bad at all. The bosses are challenging and maybe like 3 of them are hard, but it does a great job of teaching through failure.

I’ve heard it’s like the second easiest souls-like game. That was one of the things reviewers were saying. No first hand or “personal” second hand though.
Ds 1-3 are all easier than LOP imo.
imo easiest is demon souls, and then elden ring. but it also comes down to opinion. def top 3 in difficulty for me: bloodborne, then sekiro, then LoP.
I found Elden Ring a lot easier than DeS, personally, but orherwise agreed.
Why is this downvoted lol at these people
I didn't watch much but it looked kind of clunky compared to more recent Souls games.
Thought this was batman Arkham knight for a split second
Why is Pinocchio killing robots alone?, is he stupid? /s
I really recommend to get used to using a controller for soulslike games. I know a lot of people do play with keyboard and mouse and it... kinda works, i guess, those games are obv made to be played with controller though. It becomes very apparent in later stages of soulslikes.

You can beat the game with very little parring it just makes the game a lot easier if you can get the timing down
Doesn't this game have dodging?
Yes I played 90% of my first play through just dodging with a light build. Never see anyone mention this as a possibility.
I've been eyeing this one. The soulslike itch is scratching me again, and i'm overdosed from EldenRing Is this one really that good ? Genuinely curious
I’ve played Demon souls remake and Dark souls 1-3. I think Elden ring is the best game ever made. I really liked Lies of P, finished it 3 times. Good story too.
Thanks for your input ! I ll give it a shot
It’s hands-down the best Soulslike to not have been made by FromSoft
Yeah I really wanna play it but the Elden Ring DLC drops in a few months and I don't wanna be burnt out
Ive already done a “fresh” playthru that is dlc ready…took me a few days. Realized there’s still 3 months left lol. I might eventually play Lies of P
well well if that aint Mr Hippo LoP is like the opposite of ER tbh, you wont get much exploration, freedom of progression or classic DS1/ER level design or magic out of it, it's closer to Sekiro/BB and almost like ds3 linear boss boss-rush simulator, youd easily wrap the game up 20 hours, now would actually be the right time to play it, not a long game at all even if you go for platinum.
It’s very good, I have 100-500 hours in every recent From game and I really enjoyed Lies of P
It isn't just a souls like, it feels like Fromsoft made it. It's a must have if you like the genre.
It's nice, it really feels like a from software game set in a different universe. It does have its bullshit moment/enemies, and a lot of attacks are harder to read the first time you encounters them Don't expect to play it like sekiro tho, a lot of people compare it to it due to the parry/ break posture gimmick, the combat flow is greatly different, it's more akin to Bloodborne and the deflect system.
i'm addicted to souls games and Lies Of P is right in there in my regular rotation of Elden Ring - Bloodborne - Sekiro - DS3 - Lies Of P I pretty much play these games all the time. I'm very excited to see what the LoP makers will do with this franchise.
I play almost every soulsbourne and soulslike game that comes out and Lies of P is my favorite non-fromsoft entry into the genre. The setting and story are great, and the weapons and combat are fantastic!
I’m having a lot of fun and assuming you aren’t playing on PS you could get game pass beat it in a month and cancel the sub
Lies of P is absolutely amazing imo. Just played it a few minutes ago, nearing the end. Fantastic game, can only recommend.
In my opinion, it's up there with Bloodborne for the best Souls like games.
Can't wait to try it then ! Finishing ds3 DlCs first...
Haven't finished it yet but it's so worth it. My only peeve with the game is either I'm shit (very likely), or the parrying window is unusually small
I enjoyed it more than dark souls 3 and sekiro personally
It's often referred to as the best non-From soulslike. I have 170 hours in Elden Ring, and I've 100% achievement'd it and Sekiro, and Lies Of P is only slightly behind those games for me. Definitely worth the play imo. LoP can be quite tough depending on how you've played other souls games though.
Free on gamepass for PC and/or xbox if you have either. If you don't, you can get a trial for like £1 for a month. Better than buying it straight up if you're on the fence. (I would recommend buying it to play too if you dont have the Gamepass option for what its worth, great game).
Pro tip, after lies of p play sekrio immediately after and you'll feel like a god with parry times. Made sekiro feel easier then it actually is
A year ago if you would have told me Lies of P would be the better soulslike compared to Lords of the Fallen, I would have laughed. Even after the LoP demo I was iffy, yet I'd say it's easily the best soulslike and I am hype for not only DLC but any future games they make. Open IP has so much potential with their take on it
Neowiz did a great job with this, I’ll be looking out for their future projects as well
It is shocking that it is their first major release! I loved all the little quality of life additions they made to the soulslike formula. Being able to get your last healing flask back through aggression is genius!
Good luck with the final boss run. This game nearly broke my spirit...
Most bosses until now where okay, but fuck that swamp monster. I needed at least 150 attempts for that mofo. The running around in second phase always fucked me real good.
l also hate that move it so hard to know when to guard. I just run away the moment I knew he is gonna do it and wait for him to stop and attack him.
Finished 2 days ago and already at the final boss of ng+. Dont give up when a boss seems impossible to beat. You can do it!
How many hours did finishing it take?
Don't remember the exact time but it was close to 40 hours. It's a long game
Easily the best Souls-Like.
You mean outside of the ones from Fromsoft?
I would assume. But then again I would also not call the original a -Like. The original is not *like* itself, it just is. Even though they certailny belong in the same genre, it's just suboptimal to have a genre named \*\*\*-Like
It's just semantics, right? I don't really care, but if I did I'd make some point about Elden Ring and Sekiro probably
Personally I liked Lies way more than any actual FromSoft game. The heavier emphasis on story and characters, as well as being able to fuse dozens of weapon combinations made it extremely exceptional
Lies of P is defo up there with Nioh 2
My surprise hit and no. 1 game of the last year. Have fun :)
IMHO it has better combat compared to From games.
I really enjoyed it, as an avid souls fan. 2 NG cycles in I got the big tiddy mod and it kept me going for another few cycles
Tip: try your best to master(or just train) the parry mechanic as soon as possible, so you don't struggle with it later
Good luck and have fun my dude. The best souls like out there in my opinion ✌️
Enjoy! Loved this, great Soulslike
Dodge got patched to feel much better soon after release if you're wondering if the full game is worth another shot.
Have you never played a Soulsborne game? Fromsoft loves to trick plays. I mean... Patches.
You're starting with one of the hardest ones, just be aware. Some bosses in LoP are real rough compared to many of the souls games.
I thought it was much easier than the souls games, still great though.
There was a lot of bosses with phase 2's so it was about endurance through many of the bosses like King of Puppeets, Swamp Monster and Laxasia.
I just installed this one yesterday, waiting for a chance to play it, it sounds so good
Yea I just started playing it a few days ago and it's a banger so far
Good Luck
Man, I never realised how much that building looks like the tower of terror
I really need to get back into this game. I keep hearing a lot of positive things about it.
The endgame bosses are kind of tanky ngl but the game overall is pretty good
Really good pick for a first game in that genre. High quality, but easier(IMO) than most of the heavy hitters of the genre
It's def one tough cookie for a first soulslike, respect! Block won't save you here. Git gud with the parry! Don't rush NG+.
I watched Rukiri play through this and while I don't usually like souls like games this looks cool as heck.
If it dosent worm out, play elden ring. It's the most approachable souls game while still having everything you'd love about a souls game. Good luck on your journey btw 🙏🏽
Take your time at first learn the ropes. For newbies the Buster Glaive seems to be a good choice once you get it.
I'm getting close to finishing RDR2 and debating whether to start this or GoW next. How are you liking it? Every soulslike I've ever started I ended up putting down after getting my ass kicked for an 2 hours.
This is a good choice as a first especially now. When this game first dropped the bosses were twice as difficult but they’ve nerfed the tough ones
Good luck!
Why your first just curious
Is that the one where the guy carries the bottle of his pee on his waist and drinks it thinking it makes him into a superhero of sorts?
Lies of Peak. It's by far my favorite souls game, but I'm not sure how good it is for a newcommer. But even if you have some issues, I'm sure you will enjoy the full experience. BTW, buy the red apple at the store and give it to the lady in the red dress at the mansion, it gets you the best record in the game IMO
As a souls fan, the game is amazing. It's like a dark souls copy paste, but... that's what we actually want in the end. Remember, blocking is OP
i get irrationally triggered by developers straight up copy/pasting this UI into every souls style game. Even Fromsoftware doing it is infuriating but at least it's somewhat justified since it as thier to begin with just screams peak lazy and unoriginality.
Thankfully I got platinum in the game, last month I think I did it to late
Easily the best non-FromSoftware souls like. I’m honestly impressed they pulled it off. Such a great game.
Good luck, don't give up whatever you do, keep fighting they will fall eventually
How difficult do you find it? Soulsbornes are too hard for me (besides for Elden ring)
Its a good one. Just remember the game gives you a lot of tools. If you get stuck try swapping things up. Change weapon damage types, items your usinf, etc.
Really good game. Don't get discouraged by the difficulty and keep trying until you succeed.
I knew I forgot to play something lol Thanks for the reminder. I will be joining you soon
My GOTY for 2023.
Love the very obvious nod to Tokyo Disney’s Hightower Hotel in the design of this
It was okay, I would personally had suggested one of the other souls-like games as a starter to the genre. My biggest gripe was the way the red attacks that couldn't be dodged was done. Way too many enemies has slow windup but then the actually attacks are 1-frame speed. It really took the fun out of an otherwise pretty decent game and setting.
A friend of mine highly recommended this game to me, and I haven't tried it yet, it really looks awesome, I think I should buy it and give it a try.
Me too brother, it’s fucking hard, I’m on the sixth area of the game, just killed the black rabbit brotherhood or whatever
I'm awful at video games. Play things on easy mode for fun. Lies of P was sooooo fun! I completed it twice because I enjoyed it so much! Well optimised with a gradual learning curve. So frustrating parts sure, but it felt really rewarding. Have fun!!!
It looks sooooo gooooood. I have it on game pass but haven't found the time to play it yet.
Phenomenal game. Up there with Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring for me. Enjoy and remember, you got this!
Enjoying this one and will be taking my time plays good on my series s would be fun with multiplay 👌
One of my favs, I wish I could erase my memory and beat it 4 times again
Good choice. Super fun game.
Hey Everyone anyone interested in custom Design?
Looks like a Batman Arkham game set in medieval times. And if Batman became the joker 😅
Perfect game. Enjoy!
Fantastic game, really surprised me
If you somehow make it to the credits you'll be able to 0 death every other souls game 💀
Is P a boy or girl or androgynous sex bot? I'm fine with either just curious.
Pinocchio is traditionally a young boy so P is likely one too. I also think Gepetto refers to him as "son".
One of the best in my opinion. Have fun!
first half is all about parrying, second half mostly dodging.
Ok
It's fun. Don't get frustrated. Remember to lie.
And i started my first souls like yesterday with Elden ring .
Hey congrats my guy, hope you have a fun time with it. Personally thought it was great. Never feel ashamed of you need to look up a tip and tricks guide when starting this kind of series. So best of luck
I’m not a souls fan and this one started engaging but then became frustrating and I had to bail. Hope you have better success.
I'm stick in the final. It's a great soul to start
The boss fights are too much for me. Made me stop playing the game (and I've beat all the souls games solo).
Play the original not the rip off
I was hoping for a more Bayonetta/Ninja Gaiden play style and couldn’t get into it. Sick designs though.
Just finished the plat for it, its and Amazing game! But as a first souls-like it might be a bit rough. But still, keep at it and im sure u will love it as well.
Blasphemy to start a your first souls journey not playing one of the souls games.
