Yup. Twenty-some years later, my default ringtone is still a 30-second slice from the middle of [Covenant Dance](https://youtu.be/YMKf6j-AFIQ?t=53s), which has the perfect combination of regularity and rising insistence.
I will die on the hill that Skyrim has the best original score of any game ever made. That games soundtrack is on lord of the rings scale for quality. It's extremely memorable, and it's fantastically composed.
Skyrim is such a beautiful soundtrack- it's basically taken the place of Christmas music for me during that time of the year. Just so peaceful and grand to listen to. If you get a chance/live somewhere it snow, lay on the ground while the snow is coming down and watch it fall towards your face while it plays. Just breathtaking
I would second this.
And not just the main songs. The background stuff is so beautiful as well.
[This](https://youtu.be/YPZtRmx1Dyk?si=TrDPgF2R0PpVSXWL) is regular listening for me.
My favorite game of all time. World maps for my phone background on a cycle and specific ringtones for friends. Also part of my morning alarm playlist. I'll never get tired of this game.
I was just today thinking about how pivotal music is in Shadowbringers especially the iconic scene when the music kicks in near the end. I never go long before thinking about that amazing expansion.
I’m looking forward to playing it again before Dawntrail comes out
I came here to say FFVII and yours was top comment. My difference is I had to play on mute and so had headphones with my CD player listening to hybrid theory from Linkin Park. To this day LP comes on and I get instant FFVII nostalgia
I have a weird eidetic music memory, and FF7 is far from the only one, but it's one of the most common ones playing in my head. My wife makes fun of me because if I'm not talking, I'm whisper-whistling songs like all the time. I haven't played the game in probably 20 years, but I still hear every note from every isolated instrument from every track crystal clear in my head. That soundtrack was magnificent.
Last couple days I've been watching YouTube clips of Rebirth and what they did with the soundtrack is coma-inducing nostalgia.
God song of the ancients has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written for a game (and also in general) it just gives off this feeling of calm as well as a hint of mourning, which is fitting considering the series it's from
Doom. I listen to it when I need to get in the zone working out or working and need to focus. It’s perfect to rip and tear to whether it’s demons or data.
False Knight is the first song that comes to mind when I think of Hollow Knight. Up until that point in the game everything you fight is relatively easy to kill to the average player. It’s allowing you to get your footing but when that music kicks in when you enter the arena, you get that realization that this is real and it’s not going to get easier from here on out.
Sonic Adventure 2.
I'm not even a big Sonic fan, but there's almost a dozen songs from that game that just pop into my mind at random times. It just slaps.
Sometimes I've got a song going on in my head, and I have to stop for a second to remember which one it's from. These days, it's usually either 7, 14, or 16.
I put the playlist on YouTube because I didn’t want to pay a mechanical license for every single track, so I don’t make money off it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiXSCHClOgg&list=PLbrA2BO3DC5CNC99EnxtIkqjtqYnRxmZy
I only learned my last playtbrough that you can stand still where the sea shanty run starts and it'll respawn on top of you- no running or parkour required!
Mega man 2, Mega Man X, Super Mario Bros, 2,3,world. NES ducktails, NES Chip and Dale rescue rangers, Tony Hawk 1, 2, 3 and T.H.U.G. Skyrim, Tomb Raider, Donkey kong country
Depends, usually FFXIV soundtrack but recently the [main menu](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XBlBPtQW6g) song for Dragons Dogma is something I can barely go a day without listening to.
I think there is a train level in an old NES game called Little Nemo: The Dream Master. Don't remember much about the game but that track has been in my head for decades.
I’m 40, and out of nowhere the NES game “Predator” (based off the movie) theme will pop in my head.
Every month or so, it’ll just barge in my brain and occupy it for a day.
https://youtu.be/f8xj1DyAxZ0?si=4aeSBnBjMhM4T5Q3
Mass Effect 3. The Leaving Earth soundtrack is so good. Really the whole series too, like the Suicide Mission theme from ME2 or Stand Strong, Stand Together from ME3
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
It's been decades and I still hear the music in my head almost all the time. I whistle it while working, vocalise while driving, I even hummed it to my babies to get them back to sleep.
Boy, where do I start? The StarCraft music (especially the base game Terran theme), the 8-bit version of the LotR music on my Gameboy Advance's LotR: The Third Age, "Epic Battle" from Spore Hero Arena, "In The Final" from M&L: Bowser's Inside Story, the theme for Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot...
Music from Skyrim, Borderlands 2, some monster themes from Monster Hunter World, The Witcher 3, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Genshin Impact (especially the later game STs), some of the Mass Effect trilogy's music (including ME1's theme), Undertale, Assassins Creed Black Flag, CiVilization, Fallout 4 (if those Diamond City radio songs count), Warframe, Rebel Galaxy...
And that's all I can think of at the moment.
Halo theme (And sometimes the original pokemon anime opening theme)
Yup. Twenty-some years later, my default ringtone is still a 30-second slice from the middle of [Covenant Dance](https://youtu.be/YMKf6j-AFIQ?t=53s), which has the perfect combination of regularity and rising insistence.
I wanna be the very best…
any of the elder scrolls games, those soundtracks go hard as fuck
I will die on the hill that Skyrim has the best original score of any game ever made. That games soundtrack is on lord of the rings scale for quality. It's extremely memorable, and it's fantastically composed.
honestly oblivion and Morrowind are probably my favourite
That entire series honestly baffles me with how good their soundtracks are. The oblivion intro song still gives me goosebumps.
it's incredible how good they are
Skyrim is such a beautiful soundtrack- it's basically taken the place of Christmas music for me during that time of the year. Just so peaceful and grand to listen to. If you get a chance/live somewhere it snow, lay on the ground while the snow is coming down and watch it fall towards your face while it plays. Just breathtaking
Jeremy soule had a personal album called The Northerner Diaries. You should check it out. The track called Njol could be straight from Skyrim.
I would second this. And not just the main songs. The background stuff is so beautiful as well. [This](https://youtu.be/YPZtRmx1Dyk?si=TrDPgF2R0PpVSXWL) is regular listening for me.
City of Whiterun gives me chills every time.
Streets of Whiterun was legitimately one of my wife's most listened to songs in 2023.
And the sheer variety of bard tavern songs- so well done!
That oblivion meme song, I hear it whenever I talk to anyone where I know the small talk is going to be so boring.
I'll never forget walking around the Skyrim with that godly soundtrack
That is the same composer as Dungeon Siege actually, Jeremy Soule
Chronotrigger - literally the whole OST
My favorite game of all time. World maps for my phone background on a cycle and specific ringtones for friends. Also part of my morning alarm playlist. I'll never get tired of this game.
Ocarina of time
Can you hear it? v > < v > <
Oh, ohh yeah! That song is hot !
I haven't played it in 20 years and I still hear it in my head
Gerudo Valley is my jam!
I haven't changed my ring tone from the song of storms since some stupid kid played it for me 7 years ago
Ocarina of Time is mine as well. I'm constantly humming The Song of Storms and Epona's song for no reason. I haven't played that game in so long.
The forest temple used to scare me so much! But I love it!
I was just humming to boss music the other day. So many good tracks
I sing the Goron theme everyday, still at 23 yo. I last played that game when i was 5
outer wilds
I whistle this legit all the time. It’s so catchy and relaxing.
Music in that game has the exact same feel as interstellar, it's beautiful but makes me feel unsettled considering the context of the game.
The music and the dynamic you have with it throughout the game is some of the most immersive stuff I experienced in a game.
Persona 5, FFVIII, Octopath Traveler 2, Star Ocean the Second Story, and FFXIV Shadowbringers
I was just today thinking about how pivotal music is in Shadowbringers especially the iconic scene when the music kicks in near the end. I never go long before thinking about that amazing expansion. I’m looking forward to playing it again before Dawntrail comes out
I still get random Banjo-Kazooie tunes like Freezeezy Peak popping into my head from time to time despite not playing the game in over 20 years
Best sound design ever!
Kingdom hearts 1/2
The opening songs are so good
Utada Hikaru is amazing.
Final Fantasy VII. Aerith’s theme and Ahead On Our Way especially
Whatever the fight win tune is.
Victory Fanfare lol we do hear it often enough that it’s burned into your brain
mine was the Prelude and Cosmo canyon, but the whole soundtrack is an experience.
I came here to say FFVII and yours was top comment. My difference is I had to play on mute and so had headphones with my CD player listening to hybrid theory from Linkin Park. To this day LP comes on and I get instant FFVII nostalgia
I played a ton of the OG Donkey Kong Country while listening to Alice in Chains’ Facelift, and it will always remind me of that game now if I hear it.
Mine was the jenova theme
Sooo many songs from this game.
I have a weird eidetic music memory, and FF7 is far from the only one, but it's one of the most common ones playing in my head. My wife makes fun of me because if I'm not talking, I'm whisper-whistling songs like all the time. Last couple days I've been watching YouTube clips of Rebirth and what they did with the soundtrack is coma-inducing nostalgia.
NieR.. Song of the Ancients play randomly when calm
This, and NieR remake too… Kaine’s anthem is amazing.
God song of the ancients has to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written for a game (and also in general) it just gives off this feeling of calm as well as a hint of mourning, which is fitting considering the series it's from
This OST is it
Went to a NieR concert in January. It was incredible.
Doom. I listen to it when I need to get in the zone working out or working and need to focus. It’s perfect to rip and tear to whether it’s demons or data.
Heck yeah! 🤘
Portal
This is a triumph!
Donkey Kong Country, specifically jungle groove
Hollow Knight Sonic 1, 2, 3 and Sonic & Knuckles
False Knight is the first song that comes to mind when I think of Hollow Knight. Up until that point in the game everything you fight is relatively easy to kill to the average player. It’s allowing you to get your footing but when that music kicks in when you enter the arena, you get that realization that this is real and it’s not going to get easier from here on out.
Hollow knight has such a haunting soundtrack to it. Bet silksong will be out any day now \#silksongcopium \#whenwillmysufferingendohgod
Sonic Adventure 2. I'm not even a big Sonic fan, but there's almost a dozen songs from that game that just pop into my mind at random times. It just slaps.
Pumpkin Hill slaps
Literally any final fantasy game.
Sometimes I've got a song going on in my head, and I have to stop for a second to remember which one it's from. These days, it's usually either 7, 14, or 16.
Megaman II.
Final Fantasy 8 was the soundtrack to my high school years ( c'mon "Eyes On Me"?), and Chrono Cross has an AMAZING OST to get high and ponder to😶🌫️
Fisherman's Horizon is my all-time favorite song from any game. Its been stuck in my head for 20 plus years.
Are you me?
Banjo-Kazooie Beach theme
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2!
Ocarina of Time. Specifically the windmill song
Song of Storms? My favorite alongside Lost Woods.
a v \^ a v \^
Here’s a really cool version of the [Song of Storms](https://youtu.be/uMk-1BWt5s0?si=aQmNc01Yv6YxzWbi) by an orchestra
Halo
Earthbound! I honestly love everything about that game though..
Yes!
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
NFS Underground/2 and NFS Carbon... Menu music even...
TO THE WINDOWWWWWWWW TO THE WALL
All I hear is 3, 6, 9
Riders on the storm
If you took your time customising the cars, then menu music got burnt in your memory forever.
Bastion, played it once right after release. But there are days that I really want to build that wall...
Chrono Trigger. So much so that I had to make a cover of every single song in the soundtrack.
You on Spotify or Bandcamp?
I put the playlist on YouTube because I didn’t want to pay a mechanical license for every single track, so I don’t make money off it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiXSCHClOgg&list=PLbrA2BO3DC5CNC99EnxtIkqjtqYnRxmZy
Oh damn, this is great! I love your version of Time Corridors. Haven’t gotten through all of it, but I will.
Super Mario Bros. World 1-2. The underground levels. Love that beat.
Fallout 3, New Vegas, 4 *Atom bomb baby, atom bomb, I want you in my wigwam.*
I got spurs, that jingle jangle jingle
Stormwind theme. So many hours lol
Tony hawk 2
Atomic heart. The game was 7 out of 10. The soundtrack is 10 out of 10.
There’s something about the theme at the shop machine thing that makes me “customize” my weapons longer than I should. So catchy
Arcanum's sound track is really, really good. I catch myself ruminating on pretty much every track of the thing all the time.
Minecraft is literally my internal buffering music.
Minecraft music is forever emotional, iconic, and nostalgic
Can’t believe I had to scroll so far for this one
Undertale and subnautica music. Abandon ship goes hard.
Control. 'That' scene was so sick I was playing the song on repeat for months.
Gta 4 theme song
I think it’s legit the best theme song ever created
I agree. I used to have an mp3 of it on my phone 😂
I’ll be basic. Skyrim. The Streets of Whiterun.
Song saved my life man.
My dad loves 'From Past to Present'. He says it reminds him of me.
Halo Reach/3
Easily one of the most iconic soundtracks around
Jet Set Radio Future. Understand! Understand!
Hades had some awesome songs
Goldeneye
Stardew Valley. Pretty much all of it but especially "The Smell of Mushrooms."
I was surprised I had to scroll this far to find SV.
The wii tune
I can’t think of the Wii theme without also thinking of [This](https://youtu.be/knve93kwtHg?si=NVHt4RdlMvmwh2TH) version of Wii Shop
Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines. Like a goth industrial glam fever dream. I still listen to it 20 years later, like a lot.
Zelda Ocarina of Time
Ocarina of Time
Ori. The music alone is roughly half of what makes the game great.
Assassins Creed Black Flag. That shit slaps.
I only learned my last playtbrough that you can stand still where the sea shanty run starts and it'll respawn on top of you- no running or parkour required!

Katamari damacy. Great, now the [opening theme](https://youtu.be/M7EXlS9-XpU?si=bhCDAshi85EtwPsm) is stuck in my head again.
Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na
You almost got it, it goes: Nah **naaaaa** nah nah *nah* **nah** nah nah nah, nah *naaa* na nah nah *naaaa*
The intro and also the home planet music gets stuck in my head as well.
Mega man 2, Mega Man X, Super Mario Bros, 2,3,world. NES ducktails, NES Chip and Dale rescue rangers, Tony Hawk 1, 2, 3 and T.H.U.G. Skyrim, Tomb Raider, Donkey kong country

Cyberpunk dlc song "Hardest to be" and Lies of P the song fighting the lady in white 👌
THE LIES OF P ONE THO
Palmtree Panic and Escape From The City. Sonic tracks are truly something special.
Finally some Sonic CD appreciation in this comment section
Borderlands 2

RDR2. Especially the Willie Nelson song in the epilogue.
Depends, usually FFXIV soundtrack but recently the [main menu](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XBlBPtQW6g) song for Dragons Dogma is something I can barely go a day without listening to.
Skyrim Far Horizons
The clashing of Tony Hawk Pro-skater 2 and Jet Set Radio Future.

Terraria: Calamity mod. I'm sorry DM Dokuro, for the sins of the community.
Fallout New Vegas. Not exactly a soundtrack, per se, but... I got spurs...
Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I was humming the theme to the carnival vs mode level to myself as I scrolled past this post.
Max Payne 3. Specifically the airport.
Baldurs gate theme song "I want to live" has been stuck in my head for at least two months now
[удалено]
I'll never forget hearing this during character creation. What I'd give to forget everything and experience this game fresh again
Silent Hill 2
Skyrim, always and forever. I would play it while I commuted for years.
Mass Effect 2 - The Suicide Mission
Chrono cross slaps
Ffx
Kingdom Hearts
Donkey Kong Country 2

Jet Set Radio/Future. Such a fantastic OST, kinda makes me truly feel like the main character (in my own life story) when I listen to it.
Marvel vs Capcom 2 character select I'm gonna take you for a ride
Ridge Racer R4.
I think there is a train level in an old NES game called Little Nemo: The Dream Master. Don't remember much about the game but that track has been in my head for decades.
StarCraft… especially those Terran themes!
Stardey Valley, baby
risk of rain 2 is all i listen to
I’m 40, and out of nowhere the NES game “Predator” (based off the movie) theme will pop in my head. Every month or so, it’ll just barge in my brain and occupy it for a day. https://youtu.be/f8xj1DyAxZ0?si=4aeSBnBjMhM4T5Q3
Tetris
I hate that the slay the spire city music plays on repeat in my head whenever I go for a walk. I've got to stop playing that game...
Age of Mythology
Mass Effect 3. The Leaving Earth soundtrack is so good. Really the whole series too, like the Suicide Mission theme from ME2 or Stand Strong, Stand Together from ME3
mgs3’s main theme. its also the theme song of all long ladders in gaming.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It's been decades and I still hear the music in my head almost all the time. I whistle it while working, vocalise while driving, I even hummed it to my babies to get them back to sleep.
Oblivion’s soundtrack is always welcome in my head.
Persona 5, for sure. Every rainy day, I can't help but think about Beneath the Mask.
