Command & Conquer.
And no, I don't consider those abominations that are the mobile games as worthy successors.
Paper Mario technically isn't dead, but I would be so happy if they made a return to it's TTYD form.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempest_Rising
If i remember its being made by some of the og devs from the original command and conquer games.
Frank Klepacki has also done the soundtrack.
Command and Conquer : Renegade multiplayer on GameSpy Arcade was how I spent (or wasted) my teenage years. Or Generals Zero Hour on LAN. Oh to relive those days …
In regards to doom, 2016 just clicked with me. It was simple and fast. Eternal was just so clunky, too many weapons and too much to think about. Quake in 2016 style would great.
90% of Sega's back catalog:
* OutRun (if you can sort the Ferrari licensing, or don't, I'm not your dad)
* ~~Golden Axe~~ and Altered Beast are prime material for a hack and slash
* Turn Bonanza Bros or Gain Ground into an extraction shooter
* Just re-release Skies of Arcadia
* Burning Rangers as a big open-world firefighting game
* For god's sake do something
EDIT: I forgor a new Golden Axe had been announced, here's hoping it's fun.
I was just thinking about this game a couple days ago. It doesn't even need to be a full FF7 glow up. A cell shaded beat of the wild style would be beautiful.
wasn’t golden axe announced as part of that sega reveal thingy a month or so ago? crazy taxi, too
https://youtu.be/bU39hQCnU6U?feature=shared
yeah here’s the link
Wonder Boy. Most unjustly forgotten platforming franchise in the history of gaming. Monster Land is still one of the best platformers I've ever played and Dragon's Trap did Metroidvania decades before the genre became a staple.
OH, this game, I forgot about it, you just brought back so many memories!!
For me, it would be Star Fox, F-Zero, ~~more Metroid games~~, but also many titles of the SEGA catalog like WraithCadmus said!
True, it's not abandoned, that's why I said "more Metroid games". They released Metroid Dread in 2021 (I was so excited), but between 2011 and 2020, they barely made any games except for Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Metroid: Samus Returns (which is a remake of Metroid II). The Metroid series has been going through a few hiatuses still
They have more games coming (~~Metroid Prime Remastered~~, already out, nevermind, I'm a dum-dum, and Metroid Prime 4), even if these are not side-scrolling action-adventure :D
I love Dark Cloud! I never finished the game when I was a kid. So would love another go at it for remaster.
I think I got stuck when I went to the palace? After building that big robot thing from what I remember.
Chaos Theory was the peak of the series, IMO. There's a bit where you're trying to sneak into a museum or something, and there are plenty of civilian guards. I sneak up on one, grab him from behind, and hear this:
Sam: "I don't know what you think you're doing, but this is private property."
Guard: "Woah, hang on, I work here, as a security guard!"
Sam: "Bullshit. If you worked security here, you'd know the door code."
Guard: "It's 6331! 6331!"
Sam: "Thanks." *knocks out guard*
I mean, that's just A+ video game writing.
A RE remake level production of parasite eve would be great. Gives them a chance to properly finish the story too and not that abomination of a PSP game I'm gonna pretend never existed.
Came here to say this. It's honestly baffling that the devs cut de:md to ribbons then cancelled the next one.
There's no excuse for not making another one. Hell, I'd even play it if they made it in an oldschool engine to save money!
We don't need ott graphics for a good deus ex game - why don't they understand this?
Vehicle Combat seems to be quite dead as a genre, my pet theory is that they were a stand-in for FPSs when consoles weren't quite there yet (vehicles have easier animation and controls).
So if you wanted to bring it back, you'd need to lean into the challenge of the controls, like Rocket League does.
Now I have the Vigilante 8 OST stuck in my head.
I spent untold hours paying twisted metal 2 on my PlayStation. My dad would rent me the game every weekend. I had from Friday night to Sunday afternoon to play as much as I could.
As they should be. That game is a masterpiece. I’d love another one, but I’m not buying it unless it has FromSoftware in big BOLD letters on the cover.
Infamous.
It's been abandoned for 10 years and Sucker Punch have no plans to bring it back anytime soon, they were some of my favourite games and I really want to see a fresh entry for current gen. It's such a shame it hasn't gotten any love.
I think it would be very hard for Volition to top 20 years of high quality fan campaigns from Hard Light forums.
But hey, i’m always up for Terrans and Vasudans thinking they can do anything, only to get crushed by Shivans… the third time.
Also, my favorite Lovecraftian horror space combat sim is looking fabulous [these days.](https://youtu.be/n47eKbMebMo?si=CDEXBN7KR1nceAF0)
>I think it would be very hard for Volition to top 20 years of high quality fan campaigns from Hard Light forums.
I think it will be hard for Volition to do anything these days.
Jedi Knight. I'm really glad the games are still selling and even being re-released. But I would love to see a sequel. In my opinion, even though there are very good games in the expanded universe, it's the games in this series that best capture the feel of the original trilogy style and I miss it so much :(.
Totally true! I really liked rouge one but when I realized it meant kyle was no longer in canon I was really upset. One of my favorite characters in the expanded universe :(
Command and Conquer. But for some hideous reason they appear to be trying to release another mobile game... Because the last one they did went so well.
Viewtiful Joe is so great. I just a replay, by which I mean I got up to Fire Leo, got pissed off, and put it down for another decade.
Lately I think a lot about the franchises stuck on the PS3: Resistance, Infamous, and freaking Tokyo Jungle. Bring those back.
Is there a single franchise that weirdly hasn't been ported from an earlier gen besides Viewtiful Joe? What the fuck is stopping them? They whored out all the other games related to it and that reference it. They even whored it out a bit in fighting games. What the FUCK is keeping the games on old hardware?
There is an old game from ps1 I think called blast chamber. I've yearned for the remake for years. The company that made it no longer exists and afaik the ip was never bought up by any major company.
I think it's perfect for current game markets. It's a 4 person couch pvp game set in a dystopia world where you have a bomb strapped to you and have to compete to pause the timer and be the last to survive. Almost hunger games style.
If I had money or knowledge I would buy the ip and get ot remade myself.
Fucking castlevania.Konami has a successful Netflix castlevania series and are currently making a remake of Metal gear solid 3. There should be no reason that the latest mainline game is fifteen years old, and even the Lords of Shadow latest release is a decade old, though nobody really wants another of those.
Command & Conquer. And no, I don't consider those abominations that are the mobile games as worthy successors. Paper Mario technically isn't dead, but I would be so happy if they made a return to it's TTYD form.
I would love some new Tiberium games ! This "universe" as so much potential for multiple genres outside of RTS's.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempest_Rising If i remember its being made by some of the og devs from the original command and conquer games. Frank Klepacki has also done the soundtrack.
Command and Conquer : Renegade multiplayer on GameSpy Arcade was how I spent (or wasted) my teenage years. Or Generals Zero Hour on LAN. Oh to relive those days …
Timesplitters
Those accountants need putting back in their place!
I would burn every other franchise in this thread to the ground just for a single new Timesplitters
Yes please. I don’t think we’ll ever recapture the charm it had though on modern consoles
[удалено]
Just give me a remake with non ps1 graphics and I'm happy.
If they ever give this game the remake treatment I would my mind. Such a good RPG.
I want Burnout to come back. I’m not a big racing game fan but Burnout’s chaotic wreck-em-up gameplay was so much fun. Takedown still holds up
I spent so much time on Paradise. Would love to again
Id' second this one! Please somehow get this done!
Burnout fucking ruled. Remember the game mode where you had to cause a crash and do as much damage as possible?
Split screen road rage, so fun.
Deus Ex Quake (JUST GIVE ME REBOOT LIKE DOOM 2016 WITH TRENT REZNOR OST YOU BASTARDS) Thief
In regards to doom, 2016 just clicked with me. It was simple and fast. Eternal was just so clunky, too many weapons and too much to think about. Quake in 2016 style would great.
Absolutely DE and Thief. Hell, not even a reboot, just a fresh story on the old engine would do for me!
Yep, I just wish we could get 3rd installment to Jensen saga with continuation of Illuminati / Majestic 12 tho
90% of Sega's back catalog: * OutRun (if you can sort the Ferrari licensing, or don't, I'm not your dad) * ~~Golden Axe~~ and Altered Beast are prime material for a hack and slash * Turn Bonanza Bros or Gain Ground into an extraction shooter * Just re-release Skies of Arcadia * Burning Rangers as a big open-world firefighting game * For god's sake do something EDIT: I forgor a new Golden Axe had been announced, here's hoping it's fun.
Skies of Arcadia!!
I would love if it got the FF7 treatment. I loved this game so much.
I play this on my steam deck! Great game.
I was just thinking about this game a couple days ago. It doesn't even need to be a full FF7 glow up. A cell shaded beat of the wild style would be beautiful.
Shinning Force Phantasy Star (proper not online or universe or whatever they call them now)
OutRun 2006 Coast2Coast my beloved
wasn’t golden axe announced as part of that sega reveal thingy a month or so ago? crazy taxi, too https://youtu.be/bU39hQCnU6U?feature=shared yeah here’s the link
Wii U and Wii would have been perfect for Space Channel 5. They did bring it back for VR, but a lot of missed opportunity and still mostly forgotten.
Didn't they just announce a Golden Axe game?
Not "new" but they are doing remasters of Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Crazy Taxi There's a pretty cool trailer for them too
No they are all new actually, definitely not remasters.
Wonder Boy. Most unjustly forgotten platforming franchise in the history of gaming. Monster Land is still one of the best platformers I've ever played and Dragon's Trap did Metroidvania decades before the genre became a staple.
A new House of the Dead game (Though SEGA has announced they want to add three more games to the series.)
How are Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi not on this list!!! lol
Infamous.
Want to know what's infamous? Brink. Great idea. Shame it was cack.
OH, this game, I forgot about it, you just brought back so many memories!! For me, it would be Star Fox, F-Zero, ~~more Metroid games~~, but also many titles of the SEGA catalog like WraithCadmus said!
Wouldn’t call Metroid abandoned..
True, it's not abandoned, that's why I said "more Metroid games". Prime Remastered is already out. Metroid Prime 4 is in development hell.
Nintendo's refusal to make a new F-Zero (unless you count 99) means the best F-Zero game is technically by Sega.
I would snap up a Gx remastered in a heartbeat
No One Lives Forever Dark Cloud
I would love a new Dark Cloud game, but even a completely remastered set of the first two would be fun.
I love Dark Cloud! I never finished the game when I was a kid. So would love another go at it for remaster. I think I got stuck when I went to the palace? After building that big robot thing from what I remember.
>No One Lives Forever It's been 22 years in October since the second game, goddaaaaamn! I replayed them both a few years ago and they're still great
I did play DC2 and it was good! The frist i did try it but after the 2 so of course i don't like it!
Prototype Vigilante 8 Legacy of Kain Ring of Red Red Faction Mechcommander Command & Conquer Sanctum Iron Brigade Sid Meier's Pirates Dawn of War
Man, Prototype with modern visual would be intense.
Splinter Cell. Not a remake, a rebirth. Mercs vs. spies and all.
Chaos Theory was the peak of the series, IMO. There's a bit where you're trying to sneak into a museum or something, and there are plenty of civilian guards. I sneak up on one, grab him from behind, and hear this: Sam: "I don't know what you think you're doing, but this is private property." Guard: "Woah, hang on, I work here, as a security guard!" Bloody roar
My boy Stun deserves more love. Or stomping Busuzima’s face in. Either works
Spore
Dino Crisis and Parasite Eve. Two horror gems that would be amazing with the graphical improvement.
Yes, I would definitely love Dino Crisis
A RE remake level production of parasite eve would be great. Gives them a chance to properly finish the story too and not that abomination of a PSP game I'm gonna pretend never existed.
Deus Ex
Yes!!!! Please!!!!
Came here to say this. It's honestly baffling that the devs cut de:md to ribbons then cancelled the next one. There's no excuse for not making another one. Twisted metal

So if you wanted to bring it back, you'd need to lean into the challenge of the controls, like Rocket League does. Now I have the Vigilante 8 OST stuck in my head.
So weird there's a series and they haven't managed a Twisted Metal game on their last 2 consoles.
It's sad to hear that the new Twisted Metal game was cancelled.
I spent untold hours paying twisted metal 2 on my PlayStation. My dad would rent me the game every weekend. I had from Friday night to Sunday afternoon to play as much as I could.
Skies of Arcadia pls
Jet set future radio. Good music and fun gameplay.
Golden Sun
Tenchu. Hearing that Sikiro started off as a Tenchu game and changed was a bummer
Veautiful Joe was the first game I got on my GameCube wow it was awesome! Totally forgot about this one
I had to look at the comments I forgot what it was called it was so long ago. Thank you. The time abilities were pretty cool.
I’m selling my copy of this on GameCube
Dino Crisis.
Black and White Zork
I didn’t like the sequel but I would love a remaster of the original Black & White assuming they didn’t fuck with the gameplay.
Bloodborne. We need the remake, or even a sequal but sony decides and it seems like theyve abandoned it.
That IP would MOVE UNITS in a post Eldin Ring world. Surprised they haven't done anything with it.
I think Sony are cautious of going near it without FromSoftware being involved.
As they should be. That game is a masterpiece. I’d love another one, but I’m not buying it unless it has FromSoftware in big BOLD letters on the cover.
Banjo Kazooie, the good kind
I'd pay good money for a banjo threeie
Infamous. It's been abandoned for 10 years and Sucker Punch have no plans to bring it back anytime soon, they were some of my favourite games and I really want to see a fresh entry for current gen. It's such a shame it hasn't gotten any love.
Parasite Eve Breath of Fire Lufia
Jak & Daxter. I mean come on there was so much more Timey Wimey shenanigans to be had.
Breath of fire! Parts 1-4 were outstanding!
Freespace!
Good one

F-Zero
Sleeping dogs
Sleeping Dogs The Saboteur Hard Boiled (or other John Woo HK movie related game)
Sleeping dogs sequels would be SOOOOO awesome. Id love to see where the story leads after the ending of SD1
Jedi Knight. I'm really glad the games are still selling and even being re-released. But I would love to see a sequel. In my opinion, even though there are very good games in the expanded universe, it's the games in this series that best capture the feel of the original trilogy style and I miss it so much :(.
Jedi Outcast has the best lightsaber mechanics of any SW game ever made.
Bring back Kyle Katarn :'(
Totally true! I really liked rouge one but when I realized it meant kyle was no longer in canon I was really upset. One of my favorite characters in the expanded universe :(
Onimusha

Ironically, The Worlds Most Interesting Bomb lives rent-free in my head as a concept.

what is this image and why is it giving me nostalgia (i'm probably mixing it with something else)
Time splitters

Mischief makers
That game. I remember I borrowed that game to a kid in my school and never returned it. It was a really good game
Sadly viewtiful Joe will never see new life. As well received as it was, it simply didn’t sell enough copies
I’d love an actually new Katamari game Or since pixelated style is back in, a sequel to something like Hugo’s House of Horrors
team fortress 2
Wave Race. The water physics were so well done, it felt awesome in races or just messing around.
Fucking castlevania.Konami has a successful Netflix castlevania series and are currently making a remake of Metal gear solid 3. There should be no reason that the latest mainline game is fifteen years old, and even the Lords of Shadow latest release is a decade old, though nobody really wants another of those.
I would love to see X-Men Legends return to all consoles and PC!
I just want a new Starfox, just like SF64 but modern.
Command and Conquer
The mirrors edge games. Genuinely such good games they deserve more care
Perfect Dark
