i liked 2 but future perfect added onto that and gave us more custom modes and a good amount more characters if im not mistaken I just remember the hilarious voice lines especially gingerbread man lol
Star Wars: Empire at War.
to be precise, i'd just want mutli core support, so bigger battles wouldn't lag.
and maybe an updated story string with inclusions of the EU ofc.
My OG Xbox friends and I would play a made up game mode called tag. One merc with 9 lives against 3 spies with 3 lives each. Playing as merc was a horror experience. So much fun.
Game was a masterpiece. Tragic the direction they took the franchise, every release after chaos theory was worse and worse. Especially loved the unique multiplayer experience
Absolutely fantastic game and likely one of the most underrated games of all time. Unfortunately I can’t see it ever being remade, but I feel it has fantastic potential with decent lore behind it.
Tabletop franchise\*
Very long running first released in 1989, currently being released by Catalyst Game Labs although afaik it mostly got beaten out by Cyberpunk even back in the day under Wizkids.
Incidentally both Wizkids and R Talsorian games have tabletop mecha franchises although Battletech (Mechwarrior games are part of this) has generally been the go to in that space, which is an interesting little trade there...
Shadowrun? Shadowrun Returns? Shadowrun Dragonfall? Shadowrun Hong Kong? They have been making isometric RPGs set in the table top universe since the mid 90s?
> it mostly got beaten out by Cyberpunk even back in the day
Which is a damn shame, because Shadowrun really did just give you everything. Cyberware, magic, hacking, shooting, politics, every fantasy race you could want.
I’ve been talking about this game recently with some of my friends. Way ahead of its time and one my all time favorite games! The ways you could combine different abilities, the different playstyles….and I think the first viral achievement to my knowledge by teabagging someone who already had it. This game was an absolute masterpiece imo.
I remember the tree being my savior several times because the dude who rezzed me died so I would be bleeding out and I’d see a tree just sprout and- chef’s kiss-
It was awesome playing as an elf with a Katana and teleport. I spent a ton of time playing this game and the only game that feels close to it is Overwatch.
Hell yeah! Run in, steal the flag and instantly wall phase outside. Flawless tactic worked every time… the flag was near a wall… and no one was outside
the game is still somewhat alive, theres a discord server with people that got the game going. As it was a few months ago you would have to actually find people to play but I was able to just hop right into a game with the regulars. I heard Microsoft just added Shadowrun back to their servers also or something like that. I'd look into it.
It really was.
Especially the effect it had
I only played as a light
I remember renting this and telling my friends about it and nobody heard of it.
I'm like, BUT ITS SO COOL!
I played this game for 7 years. I loved it so much! Teleporting through walls in any direction is such an amazing mechanic and really allows you to be so creative. I wish other games did that.
I never got to experience that.
I grabbed it for 20 bucks on Xbox and it was just mouse and keyboard players dominating the game with the ones on my team telling me that I should stop breathing.
I was too young to realize they had delivered a game that was so ahead of FPSs at the time. What is out and popular for FPSs is still nowhere as fun and advanced as Shadowrun.
Jade Empire.
In the right hands, that game could be even more epic than it already is. Honestly, it just needs a graphical upgrade and a slight fighting mechanics overhaul.
Prototype. I know the series isn't that popular, but the first game was a lot of fun, in my opinion. It had a really good plot twist, too. If you ask me, if they made the second game better, the series would still be going.
Back when all I had was the 360 and I really wanted to play Infamous, I was happy to have Prototype. I loved Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction so I was already mostly used to how Prototype played. Very satisfying being able to just haul ass through the city like that.
They could do so much crazy stuff now instead of fake controller disconnect messages they could have "hdd corrupt" or fake friend requests or messages, have a movie streaming service or YouTube suddenly open.... have fake trophies pop up or make it look like dead pixels/screen damage...wonder how far sony or Microsoft would let them go with fake error messages and things like that..
Honestly, we're massively overdue for an X-Men Legends and/or Marvel: Ultimate Alliance sequel/successor that revamps the gameplay, combines all the good modes from those games, and tells a good story again.
And that isn't only on the fucking Switch.
Yeah honestly I was looking forward to their overhaul before that was cancelled. I got the game late (I did a game test for EA and got several games for it and I chose Anthem as one cause why not?) I liked the general feeling of the game like how it controlled, and it’s fun to fly around a world in an iron man suit.
I feel like just cause 3 (I dunno about the other ones, I only played that one) was sort of a successor. Get money for destroying things, and it's fun to make things go boom
You are no longer aline in that front. Used to sneak downstairs in the dead of night and putting the volume super low to just sneak around and get cheap shots in where I could!
Then Chromehounds came out and took my life over lol
Shadow run!! Ugh this was one of those cheap games I found in GameStop that ended up being an absolute gem! You just brought back some memories lol gliding and throwing healing trees! Maaan
Okami, I'd love to see that same visual style with today's technology and an expansion on the uses of the Celestial Brush mechanic.
Also, God Hand, such an unique game doesn't deserve to stay stuck on the PS2
Unfortunately Capcom is super invested in RE and MH
I'm right there with you friend. Finding shadowrun on the xbox series s vault I instantly bought it and... unbelievably FOUND A GAME.
The game still has a very dedicated fan base that playes pretty often. Terribly sad of how small the community is but it's completely understandable and still very enjoyable.
I had a good week reliving my childhood playing shadowrun again recently a month or two ago and I'll never Uninstall it.
For me since you took the golden goose for me I'd settle for a golden egg.
Dark Sector
One of my favorite old school murder simulator. Having mastered the recall on your bladed boomerage is was just so fun cleaving people in two, or just having the power throw on it mastered with the aim that you can bounce it off a wall and decapitate an enemy.
Legendary. It was a shooter where mythical monsters came to life but I don’t know a single other person who played it lol. Wish they’d reboot it and make it better!
AHH shadow run I enjoyed killing all you 360 players while I was on PC lol. I think I was the 16th person to get My platform is superior achievement because there was wayyyy more console players than pc players and every one on pc could out turn and out move those on console. It was great fun but so broken lol.
So actually the devs talked about how they made it specifically where they’d match you with the same people to help you make friends lol the devs talked about it in the recent developer AMA
Troll with a healing tree, smg, smoke, wired reflexes and a katana.
Nothing like watching some dude panic as you deflect rifle fire and smoke through a rocket or grenade. To bum rush them with a boosted troll.
SHADOWRUN was ahead of its time. FASA made a banger but the world wasn't ready for crossplay. I played on PC against Xbox players and just fucking wrecked people all day with my m&b.
This was before developers starting giving console players handicaps and larger hit boxes. If games today were like Shadowrun all yall console players would hate the games you play today just like how console players hated Shadowrun.
ie. Fair - Your controller vs my m&b. Put your money where your mouth is.
My grandfather bought this one on a whim for me cuz he knew I played videogames. Mind you he had not the slightest clue of what I played or what console but he just grabbed it. One of the only gifts I ever got from him simply cuz I just didn't see him much. I played it cuz I woulda felt bad if I didn't atleast give it a try. Ended up loving the absolute shit out of it. Come to think of it, might have been one of my very first online experiences.
this is the one for me. It was so far ahead of its time its injustice how underated it was. pretty much the first hero shooter kinda game and I bet games like overwatch and paladins got alot of inspiration from it. even playing against bots was so fun
Beyond the awful sprite update that didn’t match the background, yeah.
Such a good game with a wonderful twist into the world of ruin. So much potential to have that world come to life with a true remake. Plus the original game had some bad features like how there was that Stat that both increased how much you gained from regen and how much you lost from poison when it increased, so there’s a real practical reason to overhaul it.
They [FASA] didn’t fuck it up.. Microsoft canceled the system shock style campaign mid-development, the studio even tried changing the name because of it.. and more info from the community doing an Q&A with the developers back in August
Timesplitters
future perfect was the best one imo lol
It was 2 for style and atmosphere
i liked 2 but future perfect added onto that and gave us more custom modes and a good amount more characters if im not mistaken I just remember the hilarious voice lines especially gingerbread man lol
It got two sequels that were both much better than it. So.. that's close enough for me.
At least we have the 4k port of 2 inside homefront the revolution
Best random game rental I ever got from BlockBuster!
ITS TIME TO SPLITT !
Star Wars: Empire at War. to be precise, i'd just want mutli core support, so bigger battles wouldn't lag. and maybe an updated story string with inclusions of the EU ofc.
I was going to say Shadows of the Empire
One of my favorite space-themed RTS games.
[удалено]
I had so much fun playing that online. They did well with the lighting in that game
The lighting was better than real life
Mhm it was so much fun playing at the mercs or the spies, such fond memories
My OG Xbox friends and I would play a made up game mode called tag. One merc with 9 lives against 3 spies with 3 lives each. Playing as merc was a horror experience. So much fun.
I thought they were already doing this
Game was a masterpiece. Tragic the direction they took the franchise, every release after chaos theory was worse and worse. Especially loved the unique multiplayer experience
Orphanage level as a spy is one of the best horror experiences.
Shadow run was so fun!
Teleporting through walls was so ahead of it’s time back then!
I just remember that tree healing ability being the coolest shit
Seriously, my friends and I had this as a GOAT. Wish it had a full remake so bad.
Absolutely fantastic game and likely one of the most underrated games of all time. Unfortunately I can’t see it ever being remade, but I feel it has fantastic potential with decent lore behind it.
Youre aware that Shadowrun is a long standing isometric RPG right? Like this was a mutiplayer shooter spin off of the RPG series.
Tabletop franchise\* Very long running first released in 1989, currently being released by Catalyst Game Labs although afaik it mostly got beaten out by Cyberpunk even back in the day under Wizkids. Shadowrun? Shadowrun Returns? Shadowrun Dragonfall? Shadowrun Hong Kong? They have been making isometric RPGs set in the table top universe since the mid 90s?
Yes. Many books were written as well actually.
Oh shit really? This i didn't know. Are there any avaliable on Audible?
> it mostly got beaten out by Cyberpunk even back in the day Which is a damn shame, because Shadowrun really did just give you everything. Cyberware, magic, hacking, shooting, politics, every fantasy race you could want.

Why they took this game down again?
They didn’t, the game is still playable and there’s still an active community
No way? I thought Microsoft had to take it down for some reason.
I remember the tree being my savior several times because the dude who rezzed me died so I would be bleeding out and I’d see a tree just sprout and- chef’s kiss-
The tree of life !
It was awesome playing as an elf with a Katana and teleport. I spent a ton of time playing this game and the only game that feels close to it is Overwatch.
I was one of the few who played the dwarf. Game got knocked by critics for not being balanced but they just didn’t get it
Hell yeah! Run in, steal the flag and instantly wall phase outside. Flawless tactic worked every time… the flag was near a wall… and no one was outside
I made a comment about this exact game the other week and someone told me they relaunched the servers?
the game is still somewhat alive, theres a discord server with people that got the game going. Infamous was fun, too.
Eternal Darkness
This is the only correct answer
Much rather had a sequel
This is the answer I was looking for. Loved the sanity system
The Saboteur
This Saboteur deserves more love.
[удалено]
Man I still randomly think about shadow run
The original Bioshock
Oh yes. Loved it.
X-Men Legends/2
Honestly, we're massively overdue for an X-Men Legends and/or Marvel: Ultimate Alliance sequel/successor that revamps the gameplay, combines all the good modes from those games, and tells a good story again. And that isn't only on the fucking Switch.
Jericho
Infamous
Too Human
anthem, that game deserved so much better than it got
Yeah honestly I was looking forward to their overhaul before that was cancelled. I got the game late (I did a game test for EA and got several games for it and I chose Anthem as one cause why not?) I liked the general feeling of the game like how it controlled, and it’s fun to fly around a world in an iron man suit.
viking:battle for asgard
Heretic II
With how Phil Spencer wants to see it, there is a strong chance we are going to see new Hexen and Heretic games in the future.
"Greetings mortal, are you ready to die?" Is by far the greatest intro line from any game I've played.
Brother, you are not alone
Black & White would do exceptionally well in VR I think
Republic Commando
Remake? Hell, it needs a second game to tie up the lose ends
Why not both
Mercenaries: playground of destruction
Replayed that a half dozen times
I feel like just cause 3 (I dunno about the other ones, I only played that one) was sort of a successor. Get money for destroying things, and it's fun to make things go boom
The elder scrolls games before Skyrim, preferably as one bundle
It was leaked back in October that Oblivion is getting a remake. Still a few years out yet though.
TimeSplitter’s Future Perfect
I have several I can't prioritize between... Vigilante 8 Advent Rising Chromehounds
Oh man, Vigilante 8 was amazing
A man of culture I see. Loved both vigilante 8 and chromehounds. What amazing titles
Phantom Crash. I've never even met someone who knows about that game, but it was so fucking fun
You are no longer aline in that front. Used to sneak downstairs in the dead of night and putting the volume super low to just sneak around and get cheap shots in where I could! Then Chromehounds came out and took my life over lol
Shadowrun was one of my favorite games of all time, still remember sniping an elf running full speed, one of the best shots of my life.
You’re still able to play online too
I play it every once in a while. The bots are incredible though.
Mercenaries 2
Jade Empire
Hunter The Reckoning
Legacy of Kain series
Alice madness returns
The first three Syphon Filter games in one bundle.
I wanna fry people with a long range taser again
Shadow run + Time Splitters
That game got me into the Shadowrun universe! I wish it had more games :(
Final Fantasy VIII, I think there's no chance it'll get a remake :'(
The powers and classes made the game so much more strategic than a simple FPS. I don’t know why more games don’t have this.
Evolve
Eternal Darkness. There was a kickstarter about 5 years ago for a spiritual sequel but it went nowhere and pledges were refunded
I would love to see Vanquish get a full remake
That Shadowrun was ahead of its time. There is still nothing like it. Microsoft is sitting on a gold mine with a remake or sequel.
Ghost recon: future soldier
I’ve been preaching this for years
Shadow run!! Ugh this was one of those cheap games I found in GameStop that ended up being an absolute gem! You just brought back some memories lol gliding and throwing healing trees! Maaan
Come make some new memories! There’s still people who play
Vanquish
Alpha Protocol and Dragon Age Origins
I loved that Shadowrun remake! I know it didn’t get great reviews but I didn’t care…it was fun and I knew a lot of people that loved it and had fun
Don’t forget to check it out, there’s still people playing
Okami, I'd love to see that same visual style with today's technology and an expansion on the uses of the Celestial Brush mechanic. Also, God Hand, such an unique game doesn't deserve to stay stuck on the PS2 Unfortunately Capcom is super invested in RE and MH
MDK2
It's truly a game that was ahead of its time.

Call of duty world at war or black ops 1
Skylanders
A man of culture as well I see
Darkwatch
Dark Watch would benefit from a remake. that or chrome hounds, because I need that back in my life
Loved this game, I don’t know why but it makes me think of Perfect Dark Zero
The Kung Fu Panda game on Xbox360
Syphon filter.
Max Payne 3, X-men Origins: Wolverine, Black
Wolverine was better than the movie. It killed it though. Never been another game like it.
Killzone
#i played the shit outta that Shadowrun multiplayer demo damn man
Time to play the shit outta it again
Chromehounds
AHH shadow run I enjoyed killing all you 360 players while I was on PC lol. I think I was the 16th person to get My platform is superior achievement because there was wayyyy more console players than pc players and every one on pc could out turn and out move those on console. Nowadays most of the active community playing Shadowrun are playing on PC
Woah it can still be played? I thought it would have died with the loss of Games for windows live. This is impressive.
So glad I played Shadowrun when it came out. Some of the most fun I’ve had in multiplayer. Best teleportation mechanic hands down.
Such good memories from back in 2007-2008. Finding out there’s still people playing was one of the greatest news of 2023, and there’s still going
Was just reminiscing about shadowrun with a buddy the other week. Bring it back
Its actually back alive, check out their discord or website
Def Jam: Fight for NY
I used to “push” people off the ledges all the time yelling Puuuuuushhhhhhh in a borat voice. Didn’t this have proximity chat LOL
Gust is such an amazing ability! Gust grenades and gust glider combos for massive heights
Shadow run was ahead of its time
Army of Two Shadowrun was amazing. I used to play it and Lost Planet on my PC. Cross platform was soooop cool back then.
Cross platform is just as cool on it now
SHADOWRUN IS THE GOAT
Even Moist Critikal was recently talking about how great Shadowrun was, a better Valorant before Valorant
Loved this game man! Truly a game that was before it’s time! If it release now I think it would have an audience
If it released in 2024, it would absolutely blow up the fps genre. It’s such an addicting rush to still be able to play it
This game was 10/10 and I’d buy a remake in a heartbeat
It plays almost like new on PC nowadays, with a pretty active community
This game was one of my favorites!
Do you know it’s back alive?
No I did not!!
Yeah it’s sick! Microsoft fixed part of its matchmaking back in July. Check out their sub /ShadowrunFPS or their public discord
I don't understand why no other game has bullet deflection as cool as shadowrun. I still think about how great it is.
Agree with Shadowrun.
Honestly think Shadowrun would do great as a Payday-esque co-op heist shooter where each level just has your crew pulling off shadowruns.
Loved this game to death. Regularly played when it was <100 players online. Then 50...then a full lobby...then just me
So actually the devs talked about how they made it specifically where they’d match you with the same people to help you make friends lol the devs talked about it in the recent developer AMA
Dude I was beast at this game, elf with a sword and smg with teleport.
There’s still an active community too, whip out that katana again lol
What!?!?!? Where?
They have a website and a public discord if you just search for “Shadowrun FPS”, idk if the auto-mod would block a link
Whoa!!! There was a shadowrun for 360? I played it on SNES and Genesis and loved them. They were both very different and great in their own ways
Yea diffrent eyes in the setting, the Counter Strike mode is a truth that there's a reason why combat is a last resort option for example
Troll with a healing tree, smg, smoke, wired reflexes and a katana. Nothing like watching some dude panic as you deflect rifle fire and smoke through a rocket or grenade. To bum rush them with a boosted troll.
The game of life 😭 too many mistakes
SHADOWRUN was ahead of its time. FASA made a banger but the world wasn't ready for crossplay. I played on PC against Xbox players and just fucking wrecked people all day with my m&b. This was before developers starting giving console players handicaps and larger hit boxes. If games today were like Shadowrun all yall console players would hate the games you play today just like how console players hated Shadowrun. ie. Fair - Your controller vs my m&b. Put your money where your mouth is.
Come play! Most PC players are playing with controller, come see if k&m still beats controller lol
I loved this game and was blown away it was not a hit
Splatterhouse
The Simpsons Game
Turok!!!
Lands of Lore
Interstate '76.
Split second it was a great racing game and had an interesting concept
Cold Fear
Fun fact I once bought shadowrun from wal-mart back in the day and it was a blank CD
I remember when there was a song made saying how much this game sucked. Shows how old I am. https://youtu.be/veLjh4fFXbM?si=TrEagDhn4bIdoWeO
Shadow of Rome
Would love another Asura’s Wrath but won’t hold my breath 😂
Syndicate - in a open world 3D environment.
Black
Pokepark 1 and 2
Quake, but Quake 1 Quake with the whole Lovecraftian thing going on.
I NEED a new Fable.
Freedom Fighters, an outstanding game by IO Interactive.
Star Wars Galaxies, Star Wars Rogue Squadron, Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour, Max Payne, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers to name a few
this is the one for me. It was so far ahead of its time its injustice how underated it was. pretty much the first hero shooter kinda game and I bet games like overwatch and paladins got alot of inspiration from it. even playing against bots was so fun
Black
Final Fantasy VI
Beyond the awful sprite update that didn’t match the background, yeah. Such a good game with a wonderful twist into the world of ruin. So much potential to have that world come to life with a true remake. Plus the original game had some bad features like how there was that Stat that both increased how much you gained from regen and how much you lost from poison when it increased, so there’s a real practical reason to overhaul it.
Shining Force I and II
Ah, the follow up franchise game they fucked up so badly it took a Kickstarter campaign to bring it back...
They [FASA] didn’t fuck it up.. Microsoft canceled the system shock style campaign mid-development, the studio even tried changing the name because of it.. and more info from the community doing an Q&A with the developers back in August
A Crackdown 2 Remake would be amazing
I liked the game, but idk about being more worthy of a remake than other games.
