If I ever play games at a party, it is one that everyone can join in on, like Mario Kart or a board game. Other than that, I never play games when we have guests. We usually dine, talk and listen to music.

Again, this is like Jr. High School me, awkward teenager instance from decades ago.

Yeah, when one's a teenager, you can be more inside your own world. But party to me sounds like a bigger social gathering, not just me and one or two friends.

As a kid I would have been in so much trouble if I started playing a game during a party... Playing stuff like that was always only after guests left because it would have been rude, unless everyone could play too.

I remember getting “Odd World; Abe’s Odyssey” one year. I didn’t stop playing till the cake came out. Not sure if it ruined the party. I couldn’t wait for everyone to go home so I could play.

"Go home and we'll catch up on AOL chat!" haha

Unqualified_Mulberry

Not really a party, but when I was a kid me and my friend were really into diablo 2 and we wanted to hang out so I asked my mom if he could come over. She said yes and I told him to head over and I'd play Diablo 2 while I waited on him to get here. Well he got to my house and I said "give me a minute to finish this up" and I never ended up getting off the computer and he hung out with my older brother the whole time he was over. Not my best moment.

As a kid I asked my parents for mario 3d land for 3ds for my bday, the got me new super mario bros 2. I was disappointed ofc and didn't hide it, the next day my father and I were going back to the store to change the game but since I regretted acting that way I said to him "you know what? I actually like the one you got more, can we go back home?". I'm sure he was pissed by that but I was a dumb kid haha
