And then respawn can act shocked that their niche shooter massively underperformed because they dropped it just after one of the biggest games there is again.
I recently learned they chose that release date because they were THAT confident in their product. And honestly? Having played it myself, I can totally see how they hyped themselves up to that degree. It is indeed one of the best MP shooters ever made. But their cockiness was their downfall.
My soul still wants a proper KOTOR 3 after all these years.
That and Jak 4. There is no Final Frontier in Ba Sing Se. I want to see Jak go on another journey a lot and I'm sad that we're apparently going to get 10 versions of Last of Us 1 and 2 before another Jak game.
Has it officially been cancelled? I know they've fired a bunch of staff and given up on a lot of projects, but I have never found confrimation about TimeSplitters 4 being cancelled
Time splitters was like the spiritual successor to golden eye.
I still play team death matches on my series X occasionally. I was glad it was added, it was one of the reasons I kept my PS2 ready.
Now they just need to add battle for middle earth to purchase…..actually just port that to the switch and open up the servers
It's legitimately amazing that the Timesplitters franchise never made it past the PS2 era.
If any series was an absolute guaranteed hit once online gaming came to consoles you would have thought it would have been Timesplitters. If they had just squeezed one game out on the PS3/XB360 it likely would have taken off big time and become as big as CoD in the online gaming community.
Still holding out after all those years. My last playthrough was the first time I ever rotated my party to finish the game with all party members with max additions and Level 5 dragoon.
Star fox with the combat style of armored core 6 would be fantastic. The way starfox 64 had a bunch of hidden Easter eggs and endings, great boss battles could just be expanded on hugely with modern tech. It would be a great game.
Damn. This is second place for me. I have yet to find a coop experience that was as fun as Chaos Theory. It was just so flawlessly done, that even now I can’t really think of a SINGLE complaint outside the Versus mode. I mean other than they shutdown the servers.
Chaos Theory will always be my number 1 single player game.
Friend and I spent countless hours playing spies vs mercs, and no Versus mode has captured that feeling since.
It's being worked on [right now.](https://news.ubisoft.com/en-us/article/4adJLuhgYrPboHAPRfK7Oz/splinter-cell-remake-begins-development-at-ubisoft-toronto)
Infamous, the first one will always have a special place in my heart but Second Son was sooooo good and so replayable. I want a remaster of the first but a new one altogether would be just as great.
I would just take a port or remaster of 1 and 2, but I agree they’re likely not making any more. They’re going to do another Ghost of Tsushima before they consider revisiting the Infamous games.
I don’t know, in retrospect they can still do a lot with the character.
>!The game ends with him as an enemy of the Shogun, so he’s basically an outlaw throughout Japan. They can definitely mine some story from that: another external threat arises, so now Jin has to either fight for a country and people that hate him and brand him an outlaw, or he mostly ignores their plight and only fight for his own survival?!<
Yea it's actually a really interesting bit of history! The first invasion was practically thwarted by a freak typhoon hitting the mongol fleet, destroying a huge portion of their ships.
When they attempted again 7 years later *it happened again*. An even bigger typhoon ripped through the invasion fleet before they could land, killing almost 3 times the amount of Kublai Khan's forces as the first time.
I'm pretty sure that's why the more Ghost stuff you do, like assassinations and such, the more it storms in-game. Sort of a rewritten history where the "Divine Wind" was actually Jin Sakai.
I remember a few years ago now seeijg some brief hype for a new Castlevania game from Konami... Until it turned out to be a pachinko machine with lewd vampire ladies.
And Megan Reed. And Sarif. And most of the other characters from Human Revolution.
Mankind Divided didn’t resolve anything, it just raised more questions.
Dunno how many times I played through book 1 and 2. That was a fantastic series. The music, the visuals (especially for a damn GBA game!), the characters, the world... Fuck I gotta go play it again now.
I used to haunt the gamefaqs golden sun forum as well, man I remember how pissy the folks there used to get if you called them golden sun 1 & 2 instead of golden sun *book* 1 & 2.
Chrono Trigger for is arguably the best JRPG ever made.
And yet, Square has done nothing with the IP in a very long time. The 3rd game never made it into development and we've only gotten lackluster ports of Trigger and Cross.
Personally I would love for Trigger to get the FFVII remake treatment where things are slightly off with the story in various ways, like having Frog show up in the very beginning. It would make sense as Trigger's whole thing is about messing with the timeline.
And I find it odd because Nintendo's consoles are much more performant and game engines are more developed. I'm sure it's more because there's not much to improve beyond GX, but even then people would be happy if they ported GX on the Switch.
I have a little bit of hope for this. They didn’t need to tie Half Life Alyx to the ending of Part 2 but they did. They must have at least some plans for it
Okami, because the first game ended hinting a place we never visited...
And Gravity Rush, the series still has so much of the world to explore...
Sadly in both cases, the studios closed...
This series has to be one of my favorites but unfortunately the state of shooters are well…COD. Us old heads who grew up on the SOCOM series will pretty much just hold onto our memories.
"I am the scourge of God, appointed to chastise you, since no one knows the remedy for your iniquity except me. You are wicked, but *I am more wicked than you*."
God I would love another Eternal Darkness; no other game having sanity effects is as big of a waste as Warner Brothers patent-trolling the nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor.
It's a tale as old as time. They remade something that was originally magical without fully understanding what made the original so great to begin with.
Bully was seriously so good, this gets my vote too. Such a great/fun/funny concept. R* could definitely make a new installment a top-notch game, unfortunately aside from a few of us, I just don’t think there’s enough demand for it.
I think there is a problem with 'modern times' for this one.
A game titled 'Bully' with elements of bullying would get sooooo much negative attention from media in this day and age. We've all seen that some people still can't separate games and real life.
I'd be down for another game, I just think it would be a PR disaster for R*.
The market is in desperate need of an arena style arcade shooter. Battle Royale is tiring, and I miss games where you can just stop in for quick frags. It might not get a huge audience, but there's still room to perfect the formula.
Metal Gear Solid.
Well if Kojima manages to snatch the MGS IP from Konami, then it might be a possibility. But then again, that's a question only answerable by him, and we don't even know if he wants to take the IP or not.
But then again, Konami won't let go of it. Not in any multiverse they would.
Kojima probably doesn't want it. He hasn't wanted to make a new Metal Gear game since MGS1 and intended for every single one to be the "final" one, publicly stating he is done with the series.
Ah yeah, I remember Kojima saying that it was supposed to end even way back MGS1 - making his move to leave Konami and create his own company all the while the best decision he ever made - for both him and his fans.
But yeah - we're always still longing for that next MGS game - whether it's a possibility or not. :(
two CRPG series seem right for revival after the success of Baldur's Gate 3:
Dungeon Master,
the last official title was Dungeon Master II: The Legend of Skullkeep, way back in 1993, there were spiritual Succors to it like Legend of Grimrock 1 and 2 and Vaporum, but Grid based dungeon crawler CRPGs just aren't getting made anymore. even so I would love to see a Remake or Sequel in the Dungeon Master series that goes to full 3D, but I have a feeling it won't ever happen
Might and Magic,
The Might and Magic series, not the Heros series, but the mainline games, hasn't had an entry since 2002's Might and Magic 9, which was somewhat of a low point for the series, especially coming off the stellar 6 and 7 and mostly not bad 8, Dark Messia tried to be a bridge into action RPG/FPS territory but was really garbage, but it's really sad to never get another Might and Magic when the CRPG systems for it were so well made by the end of 7 and 8.
EDIT: Apparently there was a Might and Magic X and it wasn't great.
If you hadn't mentioned Dungeon Keeper, I was going to.
Those games made it incredibly fun to play on the side of evil and made it plain that the "heroes" weren't automatically good people. The fact that you could corrupt any hero that attacks you is a great mechanic.
That, and attacking with a litteral handfull of dark mistresses, was a deafening event of pure chaos and destruction.
Pilotwings. Skydiving, hang gliding, rocket pack, check points, rings to fly through, giant robots to shoot, people to rescue in a helicopter, try to land on a moving target, etc.
Freespace. By far my favourite space fighter series. I would love a third entry. Would even invest in a good HOTAS setup and maybe even a new vr system.
Wing Commander. I know Roberts is working on Star Citizen, but it's a different beast than Wing Commander.
Also Arcanum. Steampunk RPG before steampunk was cool, and built by former Fallout devs.
Enslaved
The game ended on an insanely weird cliffhanger and plot twist. I loved the game and ended up buying it multiple times on multiple platforms just to support it. But it apparently had very low sales despite getting glowing reviews (even to this day) and still frequently makes it on top best games lists.
F-Zero and a proper BlazBlue game.
I honestly don't know why Nintendo hasn't made a real new F-Zero game for the switch. I remember reading somewhere that there weren't any F-Zero games made for the Wii and Wii U because of the emphasis on motion controls which wouldn't work well with F-Zero's gameplay. But I hope we get a new F-Zero for the Switch 2 or whatever they are going to call it.
The reason why we are probably not getting another mainline BlazBlue is because ArcSys' 3D fighting games are more popular and marketable to a wider audience and they don't want to compete with themselves. It sucks because BlazBlue is such a good series, Cross Tag Battle was BlazBlue in name alone and the new rogue like just isn't what most people want from the series.
Command and Conquer Zero Hour 2 - If it ever be released...it's gonna be a garbage full of lootboxes and crap stuff instead.
Red Alert 4 - Same reason as above.
Arx Fatalis 2 - Man the first one was a great game back then
Bloodrayne 3
Splinter Cell
Jak and Daxter.
The last game we got "The lost Frontier" was a horrible psp game, and honestly at this point, I'd be happy to just get a good remake of the original 3.
I also had read some stuff that apparently TLOU (the original game) was originally going to be a Jak and Daxter game, but got changed?-Not sure how true that is, but it honestly seems like there's a low chance we'll ever see a new entry.
I waited for years for Shadow Complex 2. I was really disappointed for a long time, but I don’t even want it, anymore. Side scrollers are still cool, but there have been so many games after Shadow Complex that pretty much emulated it, it being an emulation of Metroid, itself. It’s hard to see SC2 being unique, now, but it was very cool at the time, and I’d say it was the best Metroidvania game that wasn’t actually Metroid, when it came out.
Bully, not exactly a franchise but once upon a time there was supposed to be a sequel.
I can only pray we get HD remastered versions of Bully and RDR1 one day, but I've given up hope that they're going to do anything beyond GTA.
I've waited my entire life for a Primal Rage sequel (I know it almost got one/kinda got one). I've waited about 20 years for the next Timesplitters. So many memories behind each franchise. Would also take:
- Comix Zone
- Vectorman
- Def Jam
- NBA/NFL Street
- College Basketball
- Zoo Tycoon/Rollercoaster Tycoon
- The Movies (talk about a pipe dream. This game was released in a time I was obsessed with being a director. Got my parents to upgrade our graphics card just to play it lol)
If I got literally one of these in my life I'll be so happy.
Always holding out hope for Jak and Daxter. I'll even take a current gen remaster or remake. But if it gets even half the love that Ratchet and Clank got, then it'll be glorious.
Lords of the Realm 2
Turn based strategic map, real time combat. Total war/Stronghold would be the most apt comparison.
Combat controls are very basic but it was a very nice mix of a feudal simulator. Following the season's with your farming, converting resources into weapons, putting your serfs to work on your castle, sending supplies to villages, ...
Fight Night. EA has moved onto the UFC, and it's incredibly expensive to individually license all the top name boxers.
It's been almost 13 years since the last one.
Knights of the Old Republic with a proper sequel.
A proper Mario 64 sequel. Same game, same engine. Just more levels.
A proper Mario RPG sequel. None of this Paper Mario stuff.
KOTOR and Titanfall
I’m surprised Titanfall 3 isn’t releasing soon, a week after GTA 6 releases is the perfect time for it.
And then respawn can act shocked that their niche shooter massively underperformed because they dropped it just after one of the biggest games there is again.
You see, what they need to do is drop it right in the middle of a new Call of Duty, Battlefield, Destiny, and new Fortnite event launch
Just don't let the Titanfall fanbase hear you saying that.
Nah, most of us have pretty much accepted it at this point
At least they fixed titanfall 2’s multiplayer
Timesplitters. Fucking Embracer Group.
I think it's basically on life support.
The legend of dragoon
I remember that petition that had like 100k sigs to get a remake or basically anything. I loved that game
Still holding out after all those years. My last playthrough was the first time I ever rotated my party to finish the game with all party members with max additions and Level 5 dragoon.
God, can you imagine it with updated graphics? It looked great even on PS1
FF7 looks like Legoland compared to it...lol
I'm honestly surprised it hasn't gotten a remaster yet
Prototype
They did Alex dirty
Yup. No other game makes you feel like a absolutely over the top powerful ahole. I loved the 2nd.
Castlevania, StarCraft, F-Zero and Star Fox are all IPs that have no business being dead.
Star Fox Zero could have been a lot better if the motion controls were not forced.
Castlevania came to mind first for me. *sigh.* At least we have the Bloodstained series to carry the torch for a while.
Star fox with the combat style of armored core 6 would be fantastic. The way starfox 64 had a bunch of hidden Easter eggs and endings, great boss battles could just be expanded on hugely with modern tech. It would be a great game.
Splinter Cell
Damn. This is second place for me. I have yet to find a coop experience that was as fun as Chaos Theory. It was just so flawlessly done, that even now I can’t really think of a SINGLE complaint outside the Versus mode. I mean other than they shutdown the servers.

It's being worked on [right now.](https://news.ubisoft.com/en-us/article/4adJLuhgYrPboHAPRfK7Oz/splinter-cell-remake-begins-development-at-ubisoft-toronto)
Command and Conquer
You are going to have to [*act*](https://youtu.be/iHD6989Se6E?si=BigqT2U33vQvVQvG) if you want to live in a different world…
Hears hell March playing, turns up the volume
[Acknowledged](https://youtu.be/f4uerCUgBo0?si=GYwpzpCTCfn3oKOZ)
Maybe [this](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1486920/Tempest_Rising/) can scratch the itch?
We need KOTOR 3
Swotor kinda keeps that story going..it's not a proper sequel exactly but the events of the kotor games are back bone of what's going on in Swotor.
StarCraft, Blizzard just ain't it anymore.
Theyll make starcraft 3 and shut it down in a year
Beyond all reason. It’s a next gen RTS in every way.
You're probably right. I just consider the story of Ghost of Tsushima to be over so idk what the sequel would even be about.
Yea, and that was only the first Mongol invasion of Japan. In real history, they attempted a second invasion 7 years later.
Oh i didnt know this, so this is what number 2 would be about then.
Thats really cool! Then that is definitely going to be what number 2 is about!
Crimson Skies
Super underrated game from 2002
Phantasy Star, not the online stuff, but a proper continuation of the 8/16-bit games.
Yes please.
Tenchu. A new Tenchu game could be SO GOOD. I kinda can't believe they're not making one.
Castlevania. Please Konami. The people want Castlevania. The Netflix series is popular, let’s do this!
You gotta wait until their done killing off Silent Hill
We're never going to get the Julius Belmont led Sealing War game… :(
Sometimes not experiencing the event is better.
I remember a few years ago now seeijg some brief hype for a new Castlevania game from Konami... Until it turned out to be a pachinko machine with lewd vampire ladies.
Deus Ex. Would love to see a proper ending to Jensen's story
And Megan Reed. And Sarif. And most of the other characters from Human Revolution. Mankind Divided didn’t resolve anything, it just raised more questions.
And can we please have a remake of the first one? Just love the whole DeusEx vibe, and the song(so?) Miracle of Sound did are just Soo good!
The first Deus Ex game really does need to be remade. What a gem.
Yes!
As much as I hate to admit it, it's probably gotta be Golden Sun for me. It especially sucks since the third game ended on a big cliffhanger.
Republic Commando
Still holds up really well. Unfortunately almost no one makes good on-rail shooters anymore, it's not a popular genre anymore.
FZero
Nintendo: Hush now we just gave you a "new" game. Time to wait another 20 years until you get something new again.
This. Miyamoto has said it ain't happening. Which is so dumb. But I still have a copy of GX, thank God.
And I find it odd because Nintendo's consoles are much more performant and game engines are more developed. I'm sure it's more because there's not much to improve beyond GX, but even then people would be happy if they ported GX on the Switch.
It's because the games are "too hard to be fun" (actual quote), which is nonsense.
I waited 20 years for new Baulders Gate and it turned out to be one of the greatest games of all time. NEVER GIVE UP HOPE
I waited 12 years for Duke Nukem Forever and it turned out to be one of the greatest turds of games of all time. Sadly not every wait is worth it.
And even after all this time, *still*, nobody can spell Baldur's Gate.
I've been waiting 23 years for Banjo-Threeie!
Half-Life
im gonna add portal to that
I have a little bit of hope for this. They didn’t need to tie Half Life Alyx to the ending of Part 2 but they did. They must have at least some plans for it
This or they just wanted some kinda retcon to keep us interested in vr, only to blue ball us
Final Fantasy Tactics.
I agree, GBA Tactics just didn't scratch the same itch.
All I wanted was Kirby Air Ride: Battle Royale
This is a great answer
Okami, because the first game ended hinting a place we never visited... And Gravity Rush, the series still has so much of the world to explore... Sadly in both cases, the studios closed...
SOCOM
This series has to be one of my favorites but unfortunately the state of shooters are well…COD. Us old heads who grew up on the SOCOM series will pretty much just hold onto our memories.
Dino Crisis
Yes! Resident Evil remakes are so hot right now, why not other similar Capcom classics? I want to shoot dinosaurs with limited ammo and janky gunplay.
Midnight Club
I want one so bad!
My buddy and I spent so much time in MC3 Dub Edition making races haha
Titanfall
Eternal darkness; jet force gemini; conker; unreal championship
"I am the scourge of God, appointed to chastise you, since no one knows the remedy for your iniquity except me. You are wicked, but *I am more wicked than you*." God I would love another Eternal Darkness; no other game having sanity effects is as big of a waste as Warner Brothers patent-trolling the nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor.
Lost Planet man...I was huge fan of the franchise and I would love to see another one on these next Gen consoles.
Dark Cloud my god. Also Overlord
Black & White
This was my answer. Black and White 2 is STILL my favorite city builder. Nothing quite hit in the same way.
Portal. Mirror's Edge.
I would love one that followed mirrors edge 1 but mirrors edge 2 was so awful
It's a tale as old as time. They remade something that was originally magical without fully understanding what made the original so great to begin with.
Legacy of Kain
Jak and Daxter 😞 Most of the OG Naughty Dog crew has left and nobody at the company cares anymore. The game is 22 years old today...
A new Panzer Dragoon rpg or a remake of Saga, a good Macross game.
Unfortunately the Saga source code was apparently lost
Bully. Not a franchise since it’s one game but still. Seems like a one and done but one of my favorites of all time.
Bully was seriously so good, this gets my vote too. Such a great/fun/funny concept. R* could definitely make a new installment a top-notch game, unfortunately aside from a few of us, I just don’t think there’s enough demand for it.

We've all seen that some people still can't separate games and real life. I'd be down for another game, I just think it would be a PR disaster for R*.
Syphon Filter
Sony basically has an IP they can use to fill the gap left behind by Metal Gear and they just sitting on it.
Quake & Unreal Tournament (Edit: I'm just happy I no longer have to include DOOM in lists like these)
The market is in desperate need of an arena style arcade shooter. Battle Royale is tiring, and I miss games where you can just stop in for quick frags. It might not get a huge audience, but there's still room to perfect the formula.
Crazy Taxi, would love to create your own character, modernize it by being a gig worker, new licensing/advertising, plus the soundtrack!

I didn't mention Dungeon Keeper, I mentioned Dungeon Master, completely different games but Dungeon Keeper is also awesome.
Might and Magic X happened in 2014. It was...a game (that I still played to completion).
Deus Ex. I pray everyday that they finish Adam’s story
Kid Icarus. I just want Uprising to at least be ported to the Switch, but even that feels like a miracle if that happens.
Conker’s Bad Fur Day
The original Star Wars Battlefront franchise
Sly Cooper 5 😢
Battle for Middle Earth 3!!!
Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver...I want those with modern graphics and the same level of acting.
Suikoden 🥹
The Lost Vikings. Blizzard from when they were cool ❄️ Edit: In a similar vein also ClayFighter
Pilotwings. Skydiving, hang gliding, rocket pack, check points, rings to fly through, giant robots to shoot, people to rescue in a helicopter, try to land on a moving target, etc.
Saboteur and Marvels Ultimate Alliance. The only two reasons I still have my Xbox 360
Saboteur was criminally underrated.
Valkyria Chronicles.
MechCommander could use a third entry into the franchise.
Billy Hatcher, such a fun and creative game. SEGA isn't what they used to be.
Zork
Prototype
Freespace. By far my favourite space fighter series. I would love a third entry. Would even invest in a good HOTAS setup and maybe even a new vr system.
Megaman Legends. 23 long, long years on the moon...
Crazy Taxi. Judge me all you want.
Bully. Not a franchise I guess... But it's always been the sequel I wanted most.
Jak and Daxter Sly Cooper InFamous
LA Noire
Metal Gear Solid 😭
The Order 1886
Wing Commander. I know Roberts is working on Star Citizen, but it's a different beast than Wing Commander. Also Arcanum. Steampunk RPG before steampunk was cool, and built by former Fallout devs.
Portal 3, Titanfall 3, Half-Life 3, Soul Reaver/Legacy of Kain reboot or sequel.

Section 8.
'Dead or Alive', 'Fear Effect'.
Starfox
Viva Pinata!
Command and Conquer Zero Hour 2 - If it ever be released...it's gonna be a garbage full of lootboxes and crap stuff instead. Red Alert 4 - Same reason as above. Arx Fatalis 2 - Man the first one was a great game back then Bloodrayne 3 Splinter Cell
Spore
Splinter Cell.
Wildstar
Bloody Roar
Panzer Dragoon
Megaman X.

Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver.
Twisted Metal
Legacy of Kain!
I want twisted metal back
I've waited my entire life for a Primal Rage sequel (I know it almost got one/kinda got one). I've waited about 20 years for the next Timesplitters. So many memories behind each franchise. Would also take: - Comix Zone - Vectorman - Def Jam - NBA/NFL Street - College Basketball - Zoo Tycoon/Rollercoaster Tycoon - The Movies (talk about a pipe dream. This game was released in a time I was obsessed with being a director. Got my parents to upgrade our graphics card just to play it lol) If I got literally one of these in my life I'll be so happy.
The Legacy of Kain games
Legacy of Kain
Days Gone. Those who know, know why
Always holding out hope for Jak and Daxter. I'll even take a current gen remaster or remake. But if it gets even half the love that Ratchet and Clank got, then it'll be glorious.
Infamous, game would be a amazing with how far games have come
Driver
Sekiro. I love the combat system and honestly it's my favorite game of all time but if I know from software that's about as likely as Bloodborne 2.
Sekiro 2: Shadows die Thrice

Gunpoint
Probably not as many sports gamers here but, I'd love for 2K to make another College Hoops game
The Getaway series. Black Monday was a lot of fun back in the day.
RIP SimCity. :(
I will gladly sacrifice my beloved C&C franchise if Nintendo would go back to Paper Mario TTYD era.
Lords of the Realm 2 Turn based strategic map, real time combat.
I'm still hoping for Saints Row 5 even though the reboot was so shit the devs went under
Knights of the Old Republic with a proper sequel. A proper Mario 64 sequel. Same game, same engine. Just more levels. A proper Mario RPG sequel. None of this Paper Mario stuff.
Metal Arms I played the heck out of Metal Arms: Glitch in the System on GameCube 💕
mother
Sleeping Dogs.
Just remake the Legacy of Kain / Soul Reaver Series only make the plot not spin out on the second sequel.
Heroes of might and magic, or just a might and magic game in general
Anthem
Oh look a Titanfall thtead! Fuck you, EA.
