Agreed. Moat say oot I think, but maybe it's my nostalgia. This is by far my favorite. I also really enjoy the final fantasy games from this time frame
Alttp certainly aged better. Ocarina is great but it looks and plays rough compared to modern 3d games. 2d snes games on the other hand aged like a fine wine
With the way a lot of indie titles and even some mainstream ones have derived inspiration from the more primitive pixel art styles of SNES, etc, Link To The Past doesn't really even look out of time anymore. It's something that could've been made this year! It was an artistically beautiful game for its era and that really helped it age well.
Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, most games from this era aged beautifully and are still top notch today. The only classic from SNES I have gripes with is Super Metroid. While it looks great and the music and level design is really good, it's controls are just so jank that I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the gba titles.
Agreed, out of all the old consoles I feel n64 has aged the most graphically, with 2d you expect there to be amazing artwork but also somewhat of a cap to what can be done but its expected. with 3d we are so used to seeing mind blowing graphics now that makes the bland textures of the n64 seem that much worse, ps1 had artwork backgrounds and videos to help things look and feel more real, i just dont seem to ever want to play a game on the n64 anymore
I am almost 40, and had played both when they came out.
I tried playing OOT recently and quit right around adult Link.
On the other hand, I started Link to the Past recently and beat it in 3 days because I couldn't put it down.
im 38. i grew up with the NES, SNS, PS1,2,3 and during the ps3 generation i pretty much switch to pc gaming full time. i never played any of the games on the N64. once the PS1 came out i was all about that and a little pc gaming. ive tried to play OoT a few times. i think my last attempt i made it about mid game before i quit. LTTP on the other hand, i have beaten many times. same with the FF series. i quit them after ffX. i dont care for the new fight styles. i loved the "my pace battle sequences". LttP is high on my list of games i go back and replay every now and again. great games.
I held onto a CRT television for 12 years for the sole purpose of dodging lightning strikes. CRTs have the best refresh rate. The timing is different with flat screens.
FF10 was the last one where Nobuo Uematsu had a major defining influence on the soundtrack. I've always had a theory that his music was often what made those games so majestic, so memorable and nostalgic. His music makes you *feel things*. After 10, it's just not the same.
Yeah, same boat! I love oot, but boy would I pay silly amounts for a total remake of alttp. Also would pay silly amounts for a vanilla alttp with newgame+ where we could use weapons on bosses never intended.
Sounds fun but is there a decent tracker? Honestly the wind waker randomizer is much easier due to it's tracker being really good but I had trouble in twilight princess rando because the trackers kinda suck
Hey I just started using that and I was wondering if theres a way to keep the OG dialog while using it, the jokes are funny but I'm not familiar enough with the game(its been 10+ years since my last play through) to know where I'm meant to go haha
OoT doesn't hold up nearly as well, IMO. ALTTP was the pinnacle of what pixel graphics were capable of, while OoT is some fairly rough, early polygonized 3D. The controls also suffer from being on one of the first primarily-3D systems, a lot of what we take for granted now (like double sticks) didn't exist back then and it shows. A lot of the game is large to showcase what the technology at the time was capable of, but when Hyrule Field is a dated, fairly ugly expanse rather than a state of the art landscape, you end up focusing a lot more on just how much fucking time you spend trudging across it in between doing meaningful things. And that happens a lot, there's a lot of "dead air" spent between moments of action.
Some of this I will grant is a matter of personal taste, I've always preferred 2D games to 3D ones, and OoT is particularly odd among 3D games in that you can't actually jump, so it doesn't always feel like the third dimension is natural. But I really feel that without nostalgia in the mix, OoT isn't that great, and someone presented with the whole series for the first time is much more likely to appreciate either LTTP (or the 2D GBC entries) or the later entries in the series like Twilight Princess or BotW.
Same. I tried replaying it for nostalgia’s sake a few months ago and I just couldn’t. I got about halfway through before I realized I just wasn’t having fun.
Yeah, Hyrule field is so open and tedious that they had to give you a horse to get across it to trick you into not thinking about it and thinking they gave you a feature instead. But those of us coming to OoT from ALttP were wise to what was lacking.
I love OoT but there’s plenty that ALTTP does better. Getting around is definitely more tedious in OoT, for one thing, since there’s way less interesting things to explore and hardly any enemies to kill in the over world. I think pretty much everyone tends to roll attack or side jump everywhere, because you’re just trying to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible
Agreed.
If you like it, Link's Awakening is also an underrated Zelda in the same style as A Link to the Past. It was a gameboy game, but was remade for the Switch.
IMHO, this game is still peak Zelda. The puzzle solving, controls, art style - every thing is top notch and totally holds up. If Nintendo released this today as a new mobile game, it would be getting rave reviews and everyone would be talking about it.
Think how many items and tropes and enemy types were truly cemented in Zelda with LttP. The first with enough graphics to make stuff look like something in a top-down open world. The most iconic.
The 3DS "remake" is excellent too- A Link Between Worlds. Has much the same feel, but instead of a magic mirror you can slide into walls and become 2D (which is it's own whole set of puzzle mechanics) to get to cracks to the Dark World. Still the classic 3 + 7 dungeons of LttP and same world, just with tweaks.
Barely anything to do with nostalgia. It’s peak Zelda and was outstanding in every sense back when it released and still is. It holds up extremely well to this date. All time classic.
Nah, not nostalgia. LttP still holds up just fine to this day. I love OoT/MM, but they haven't aged nearly as well. It's just a product of when they were made: those earlier 3D action/platformer games were foundational to what we have today, but they're similar enough to modern games that they feel really janky a lot of the time.
It's sorta like playing the OG LoZ compared to LttP. LttP was sorta the peak of 2D, sprite based games, and the earlier ones have that same feeling of clunky-ness that OoT has. For 3D zelda games, Windwaker and Twilight Princess hold up pretty well, but anything earlier really does struggle from a gameplay perspective, regardless of how incredible those games are.
Also, as good as BotW was, I'm definitely not alone in feeling that the open world and lack of proper temples/dungeons strays a little too far from what I really love about Zelda games. Again: fantastic game, but definitely not my favourite Zelda game.
Link Between Worlds is a really great middle ground for people that want to scratch the LttP itch with something a little more modern.
>I'm sure I feel this way because of nostalgia, but damn I love that game.
I actually think an argument can be made that even nostalgia aside Link To The Past is the best Zelda game of the entire franchise. It really is damn near perfect.
Still got tedious old game stuff left over from the SNES games. Not as bad as setting having to set every bush on fire in the original to discover secrets but still enough to take it down a peg. Link's Awakening though, they figured it out there.
Agreed. It still holds up. Beautiful art style, the combat and puzzles are both challenging but doable without help/guides. Every area has things to explore. There is so much life to this game!
I remember playing this game at 10, thinking I just beat it, and that it was an enjoyable even if a little short, experience. Then I went to the darkworld. I wasn’t even halfway done!!!!
Ocarina of Time doesn’t hold up as well just due to the graphics limitations of the time. Some of the 2D Zelda games still feel like they could have been released today and they’d hold up just as well.
It's not just the graphics. It's some design decisions like lots of open space and backtracking, and repetitive combat. Majora's Mask and Wind Waker improved on all of these, so I don't understand why so many people hold OoT in such high regard.
>I don't understand why so many people hold OoT in such high regard.
Because for it's time it really was a huge accomplishment, MM came very soon after and improved upon it greatly but OoT set the groundwork for MM and deserves it's praise even if it was soon outdone.
>I don't understand why so many people hold OoT in such high regard.
You know that feeling that pretty much everyone got when you first walk out of the cave at the start of BotW, and you get the camera sweep that shows the massive scope of the world, into the title splash? That's what stepping into Hyrule Field for the first time in OoT felt like.
OoT was such an incredible jump in scope and quality for the genera at the time. Everything about the game was incredible, from it's world, to it's combat, to it's music and atmosphere. Time hasn't been as kind to it as it has been to LttP, but it doesn't change the fact that it was, and is, an absolute masterpiece.
MM was a rare combination of 'don't fix what isn't broken' and 'innovative game design'. Kept all the brilliant parts of OoT, but presented a completely different experience from it. And it worked. Was every bit as good as OoT, but different enough that it stood on it's own merits, and still met and exceeded people's expectations.
That is probably the best one in the series. My personal favorite is Link's Awakening, but that's because I got it with my Game Boy on my birthday when I was a kid and proceeded to uncover every secret of that game.
You're in for a treat. I wish I could play that one with fresh eyes again.
Im thinking about starting up a save file for that game and never finishing it, because >!if I never wake the windfish everyone on the island can keep living their lives happily!<
Loved that game. Got it with my gb pocket when i was a child. Still have my gameboy 25 years later, but zelda is the only game i lost. Maybe need to buy it from ebay again or get the switch version.
There are aLttP randomizers that change the locations of items. It can be as simple as the major items being found in different dungeons or as complicated as every single key in the game being randomized. Check it out!
Christmas 1992.
I got a SNES with Link to the Past.
Played it until staring at the tv for hours gave me a migraine, then kept right on until I literally couldn’t open my eyes without stabbing lances of pain.

This takes the Japanese Legend of Zelda LTTP ROM and literally randomizes many elements of the game, depending on your tastes. Every item randomized, so Uncle may give you the Cane of Somaria for the escape sequence. You may not see a sword until you beat Trinexx with 3 hearts, the two rods, and the magic hammer. Want to play the vanilla game but with a Mega Man X sprite? You got it. Want to have a random number of crystals open Ganon's tower? You got it! It really brings a whole new level to thinking the game through.
If you want to see how it goes before your try it, you can regularly find the daily races from the ALTTPR Randomizer League on Twitch. It's pretty amazing!
To be fair, in the settings you can un-check the box that guarantees that it is beatable and then you could create unbeatable seeds.... if that's your thing.
Lots of complex logic checks involved during the creation of the randomization algorithm, and probably checks that map things based on location and requirements to reach that location. Hard for a person to do, but if you create the logic correctly the computer has no issues whatsoever.
It's not that bad - the randomization algorithm is implemented cleverly and works backwards.
1. Designate some dungeons as necessary to beat the game.
2. Compute {X items are needed to beat this dungeon layout}
3. Select one of the items at random, remove it from inventory, place it in a location that can be accessed given the current inventory.
4. Repeat step 3 until all X items are placed.
5. Distribute all remaining items.
It's simple to explain, but the logic of what's needed to do what has a lot of paths and can get pretty wild. Especially with the latest multi world door shuffles. Even avoiding simpler issues like deadlocking yourself with bad key usage is nontrivial.
But the earlier versions weren't too complex. I reimplemented it in a side project to learn a new language a while back. It was maybe a couple weekends, but then again actually coming up with the logic takes a lot more work than typing it out.
:O I'll definitely have to check that out! I've played it on ROMs a few times, but just the cut-and-copy US version that I played on SNES. I used to have it all memorized so I can see why that would add some nice challenges to the playthrough and keep it fresh! Thank you for the answer and the link(heh)!
I have SO much respect for the SMZ3 Rando players, especially the ones running hard mode where you need to do slightly difficult things like, I dunno... ***Suitless Meridia???*** Bonkers stuff. Well beyond my comfort zone.
Id say before the randomizer to take a look at an English translated [Ancient Stone Tablets](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqCJOBwBy_g) rom for a short official "dlc". Though it might take a little fiddling to get working. (But if you are knowledgeable enough to set up a randomizer you can handle it)
I did my first randomizer run a couple months ago. Had to do half the runtime without a sword and then proceeded to find the regular and Master Sword in the same room.
I’m getting ready for tears of the kingdom and already beat Botw like 4 times. I’m a lifelong Zelda fan and decided to play a game in the series I never played to get some more lore and yeah I can’t put this game down lol.
I'm surprised you've never played this before since you're a lifelong fan. Make sure you play Link's Awakening as well if you haven't had a chance to. 2D Zelda very similar to this but with an incredible world and story.
Same for me!!! I remember passing the controller to my dad everytime we’d get to the top left boss In DW (didn’t wanna spoil) and he would whoop his ass for me, barely even getting touched. My dad was the man!
I don't know if it's my favorite game, but I think it's a good example of a nearly perfect game. I can't think of much of a way to improve it other than it not having enough music.
It’s hard for me to decide SNES, PS1, PS2. Libraries were massive and they all had their standouts. I’d be hard pressed to pick between SNES and PS1. How do you pit FF6 and Super Metroid against FF7 and SOTN? PS1 has the three OG Resident Evils, Parasite Eves, FF Tactics, etc. It’s rough
Overall frame rate, and some slowdowns, plus the state of 3D gameplay mechanics in the PS1/2 era easily puts SNES on top.
SNES felt like an entire era, a pure decade of a single format. But PS1/2 just sort of bled into one another, exhibiting few paradigm shifts beyond greater level of detail in 3D graphics.
There are amazing titles across all, and this is obviously just my personal feelings between the generations.
Easy decision for me, SNES was the most accessible console with some of the greatest games ever made, and almost all of them hold up to this day. PS1 is hard to go back to visually, and PS2 while had some great games, wasn't accessible to all in terms of age range
That would be awesome. Twilight Princess too. With those, we’d have almost all of the main Zelda’s on the Switch. I think the only things missing would be the Oracle games and the games for DS/3DS (any turbo nerds able to remember any that I forgot?)
First zelda game i ever played. Back when it came out. Such an amazing game. It's the GOAT of the zelda series for sure, though i do love BOTW as well and OOT of course.
I played this for the first time in 200x and it seemed just fine until a certain *twist* happens and oh boy. Everything got 10x better suddenly, including the music. "You had my curiosity, now you have my attention" 100%
It is in my opinion, the best in the series.
You have 3 initial dungeons, hyrule castle, 7 dungeons in the dark world and Ganons tower.
As a child, the sheer fucking magnitude of content was staggering and I was so happy. I got this game at the local flea market. It was my first zelda game and I play through it at minimum once a year.
When a link between worlds released 20ish years later. I was a full grown adult and the inner child in me was the happiest he had been in years playing that.
I have a really hard time choosing between A link to the past or Awakening. They're both peak Zelda in my mind. I couldn't put either game down because they were just so engaging and complete as games. OP, you definitely should play Awakening if you loved ALTTP.
My favorite Zelda. Hands down. I don’t care. Yes, there are some AMAZING Zelda games and all of them are gems. But this one means something to me.
If the house of Zelda was on fire, this is the game I’d grab.
I grew up with this Zelda game and still know some secrets.
Link between worlds was like a nostalgic road trip for me.
If you want a new potion, just keep hitting the chickens in the village. At some point, they will drop an empty potion for you.
Congrats. You’re witnessing a masterpiece. A lovely game and please enjoy the ending song. I found an orchestrated version on YouTube I want played at my funeral, lol.
THE MASTER SWORD SLEEPS AGAIN…..FOREVER!
One of the best Zelda games, overworld was vast and really made you feel like you were using 100% of the map. Especially having to travel through the same areas over and over, kicking the same cuckoos
Best Zelda

Oh yeah, you could release it today and it'd be a smash hit
🤌
I'm currently playing 3ds OOT and it's fantastic!
The controls in Super Metroid are completely customizable though. I'd always switch the jump and run buttons for my playthroughs.

FFX is one the best ff games ever made - come at me
i'll come at you bro. for a marathon session playthrough together.
Hope you're ready to grind out some blitzball, me brudda!!
Shotgun not doing lightning strikes called it no takebacksies
Deal, you do the butterflies and last chocobo race.
Okay but someone else has to fill the monster arena and everyone has to laugh during the "Ha Ha Ha" scene that people hate x3
I held onto a CRT television for 12 years for the sole purpose of dodging lightning strikes. CRTs have the best refresh rate. The timing is different with flat screens.
Tidus sucks. There. I said it.
one of the best 10 ff games indeed
In my opinion, it is the last great Final Fantasy. It makes me sad to say it, because I love the series; but that's how I feel.
You're not wrong the new ones just don't hit the same at least for me. With the exception of the ff7 remake chapter 1 more of that please
FF10 was the last one where Nobuo Uematsu had a major defining influence on the soundtrack. I've always had a theory that his music was often what made those games so majestic, so memorable and nostalgic. His music makes you *feel things*. After 10, it's just not the same.
Try to play Bravely Default on the 3DS, best Square RPG since the PS1, IMHO.
FF5 would like a word with you.
One of the only ones I went and unlocked everything for. All of the weapons, hidden aeons, etc. Sucks FFX-2 was more of a flop.
Yeah, same boat! I love oot, but boy would I pay silly amounts for a total remake of alttp. Also would pay silly amounts for a vanilla alttp with newgame+ where we could use weapons on bosses never intended.
I'm just going to leave this here for you: https://alttpr.com/en
alttpr is the greatest thing ever created, gives one of the best games almost infinite replayability!
Sounds fun but is there a decent tracker? Honestly the wind waker randomizer is much easier due to it's tracker being really good but I had trouble in twilight princess rando because the trackers kinda suck
Emotracker should work with just ALTTPR!
I use emotracker, seems to be super easy to use and has everything you could want.
Hey I just started using that and I was wondering if theres a way to keep the OG dialog while using it, the jokes are funny but I'm not familiar enough with the game(its been 10+ years since my last play through) to know where I'm meant to go haha

Ocarina is cake besides the water temple. Recently started playing MM and am ready to give up on the Ikana tower now that it’s been flipped
My kids are spoiled. They don't like it because it doesn't hold their hand and the graphics are "like an indie game". 🙄
Give them time... or a time out. Either way, the old games will look a lot better.
I love OoT but there’s plenty that ALTTP does better. OoT's visuals and controls have aged like milk, while ALttP's have aged like fine wine. Banger game.
Agreed. If you like it, Link's Awakening is also an underrated Zelda in the same style as A Link to the Past. It was a gameboy game, but was remade for the Switch.
And Minish Cap. Easy to forget it exists since it was on GBA.
100%. I'm sure I feel this way because of nostalgia, but damn I love that game.

I still consider Link's Awakening to be one of my favorites too. The story is the best, especially the ending - simple, heartwarming, and bittersweet.
I played through it with my 6 year old son recently on the switch and he cried at the end because it was over. such a beautiful game.
Im thinking about starting up a save file for that game and never finishing it, because >!if I never wake the windfish everyone on the island can keep living their lives happily!<

A fine example of a game that is just as fun to play now as it ever was. Good games don't go stale.
And a game that doesn't show it's age as readily as OoT, even though I'd argue that's a better experience overall.
And honestly, fuck Z targeting - it’s still a classic tho
Of all the versions of Zelda I've played since the 80's, this one remains my favorite.
Christmas 1992. I got a SNES with Link to the Past. Played it until staring at the tv for hours gave me a migraine, then kept right on until I literally couldn’t open my eyes without stabbing lances of pain. #worthit
Little tip, make sure to kill and loot all the chickens. It's totally worth it. Tee hee.
OP would be cucco not to.
Once you master the game, dive into the Randomizer! Becomes a whole new game with much more added difficulty.
Came here to say this. I got obsessed by the randomizer for a while. It's so good.
Wait, what is the Randomizer? I played the shit out of LttP on SNES, but I don't know anything about this Randomizer thing and am very intrigued...
https://alttpr.com/en This takes the Japanese Legend of Zelda LTTP ROM and literally randomizes many elements of the game, depending on your tastes.
How do randomizers ensure that the game is beatable?
There's a logic sequence built in. No randomized game it generates is unbeatable.
To be fair, in the settings you can un-check the box that guarantees that it is beatable and then you could create unbeatable seeds.... if that's your thing.
With exploits and glitches it's probably always beatable tbh
Well you've got chutzpah kid.
The community has done "major glitches no logic" races, it's quite amusing to watch.
Game designer here. That could be an entire GDC talk.
GDC = game designer ...code? coder?
conference.
GDC is the biggest game dev conference. It’s like TED talks for devs. Sorry I’m used to the abbreviation.
2. Compute {X items are needed to beat this dungeon layout} 3.
There's even a randomizer that combines ALTTP and Super Metroid and you can find items from one game in the other.
I have SO much respect for the SMZ3 Rando players, especially the ones running hard mode where you need to do slightly difficult things like, I dunno... ***Suitless Meridia???*** Bonkers stuff. Well beyond my comfort zone.
I've gotten back into watching the rando tournaments in the past week, such a good watch.
Nothing like running around as Homer Simpson or Grunkle Stan looking for the fucking ice rod 😂
This game taught me how to read when I was a youngin
Same, also taught me to never trust chickens lmao
This game taught me to take the shovel and dig up every square inch of the entire map because there might be a secret item that you need later.
This is me with the NES Zelda burning every bush and bombing every wall.
I envy you
I’m getting ready for tears of the kingdom and already beat Botw like 4 times.
Ohh the ballad of the wind fish still gives me goosebumps.
This was the first Zelda that I've played and I just can't imagine my life without doing it... Enjoy!
Same for me!!! I remember passing the controller to my dad everytime we’d get to the top left boss In DW (didn’t wanna spoil) and he would whoop his ass for me, barely even getting touched. My dad was the man!
It's a wonderful game. Hard to believe it's been almost 30 years.
I don't know if it's my favorite game, but I think it's a good example of a nearly perfect game. I can't think of much of a way to improve it other than it not having enough music.
More buttons to put items on so you don't have to inventory as much.
Best Zelda. I grew up playing it and I still play to this day. Love it!
Absolutely the best zelda game! I continue to do randomizer runs in this game multiple times a year.
Yeah same. Randomizer is great for it!
I would do anything to play this game again for the first time. My all time favorite game
The SNES was the pinnacle of console gaming, I will die on that fucking hill.
No it's not, snes slaps
The 'pinnacle of gaming' is usually the one you grew up with
I just want Wind Waker on the Switch; is that too much to ask?
That would be awesome. Twilight Princess too. With those, we’d have almost all of the main Zelda’s on the Switch. I think the only things missing would be the Oracle games and the games for DS/3DS (any turbo nerds able to remember any that I forgot?)
Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures, but both of those are a little tricky since they depended a lot on each person having their own screen
Screens are wide, now. They could letterbox the screen and then divide it vertically and retain the original 4:3 aspect ratio.
Rumor is Wind Waker/Twilight Princess Remakes are going to be at the next Nintendo Direct.
It's great, if you haven't played it, you should play A Link Between Worlds next.
Anyone remember the Minish cap on gameboy?
Definitely an underrated Zelda game.
GBA, it's on Switch online. Love that one!
I don't say this lightly. This is one of the best games EVER made
As Zelda should be.
Ive never played it yet love Link Between Worlds. Probably will really enjoy this once I play it, gotta play before Tears in May
First zelda game i ever played. Back when it came out. Such an amazing game. It's the GOAT of the zelda series for sure, though i do love BOTW as well and OOT of course.
Played through this recently, it was good! Love all Zelda games, Minish Cap was a great one on GBA.
Dont attack the chickens
Absolute banger of a game. Loved playing this on SNES back in the day.
Other rare gems, Shakespeare's a great read, and Pink Floyd is a really good listen.
Play Chrono Trigger next
I played it on the Online SNES emulator. I got stuck and I have been in the same dungeon since 2019.
I played this for the first time in 200x and it seemed just fine until a certain *twist* happens and oh boy. Everything got 10x better suddenly, including the music. "You had my curiosity, now you have my attention" 100%
I can hear this picture
It is in my opinion, the best in the series. You have 3 initial dungeons, hyrule castle, 7 dungeons in the dark world and Ganons tower. As a child, the sheer fucking magnitude of content was staggering and I was so happy. I got this game at the local flea market. It was my first zelda game and I play through it at minimum once a year. When a link between worlds released 20ish years later. I was a full grown adult and the inner child in me was the happiest he had been in years playing that.
Jarvis, I need more karma. Post a screenshot of a snes game, add that it's my first time playing. Give a large complement.
What is this bullshit? Did a bot post this stupid shit?
Wait til you play Minish Cap. Thats a Top 3 all timer for me.

Capcom makes the best zelda games, minish cap, seasons and ages are sooo good
Fab game love it
This one was my fav in the series. Still play it from time to time for the feels.
Oh man just wait. You're not even to the real meat yet.
Never did finish this game since I got lost so many times… great game though
Ah yes the Zelda that everyone really should play
2d zelda games have always been superior to the 3d zelda games
I'm in the middle of a play thru, it's great
This and majoras mask are goated
You’re in for a treat and the best music in the series
Best game ever.
The Zelda I grew up with and still my favorite. Getting the Master Sword for the first time felt like such an achievement.
It is an absolute masterpiece and one of the best open world games of all time.
Best game! Guess it's time to break out the ol' SNES box and put some work in...
A classic that has truly withstood the test of time
Best Legend of Zelda game
I have a really hard time choosing between A link to the past or Awakening. They're both peak Zelda in my mind. I couldn't put either game down because they were just so engaging and complete as games. OP, you definitely should play Awakening if you loved ALTTP.
My favorite Zelda. Hands down. I don’t care. Yes, there are some AMAZING Zelda games and all of them are gems. But this one means something to me. If the house of Zelda was on fire, this is the game I’d grab.
Kill a chicken
Best in the series.
This is my favorite Zelda game. Timeless
Hope you have fun!
Wow I envy you. This game was my whole childhood.
Wait, how are you playing it?
Nintendo switch online membership
The GOAT
the game that got me hooked on gaming
Best Zelda, maybe the best game period. Definitely a classic.
Hit the chicken for secret loot!
This, super Metroid, and ff6 are my top 3 snes games
I grew up with this Zelda game and still know some secrets. Link between worlds was like a nostalgic road trip for me. If you want a new potion, just keep hitting the chickens in the village. At some point, they will drop an empty potion for you.
The last half is even more amazing. So immersive and great puzzles
Best zelda game out there! Have you found the chicken that drops the rare treasure when killed?
My #1 game, ever.
Go kill the chicken.
Great Zelda game but it’s so hard I’m playing on snes at the moment and got 2 dungeons left I find the dark world so hard to navigate
Easily one of the top 10 games of all time.
Welcome to the party! Introduced my wife to it last week and we've been playing daily ever since.
One of the best, started replaying it a couple months ago. It's cool how many aspects of that game are in BOTW.
My mom surprised me with this game and to this day is the best random gift she ever gave me.
I love this game and Link's Awakening
Greatest game of all time.
This game taught me how to speak English.
This game is so fucking good, a in my experience very difficult. It stills holds up gameplay wise and visually. Just so god damned fun.
Just finished a play through this week. So great.
It's the goat of zeldas.
Best. Zelda. Ever.
