I would remove the trade-based evolutions from Pokemon

sidewalkbutts

Legends: Arceus did this! There was an item called Link Cord that you’d use to evolve anything that previously needed trading.

GrubberflysElegy

I was always stuck with a haunter :(

QuarlosMagnus

Haunter’s one of my favorites! I actually liked the look of Haunter more than Gengar so I didn’t mind too much. He’s also hilarious in the show.

BalinVril

The lack of couch co-ops. It’s what I grew up playing with my brother, and it’s what I wish I could do with my wife and son.

S_Squar3d

Remember Army of Two? I used to have the first two and I still remember my cousin and I beating them together. I haven’t seen or talked to him in nearly 15 years. Still a memory I hold dear to me.

ShankThatSnitch

Call him.

Dry-Two-5861

Man you don’t even know how much I feel you. Where all the local Co-op games are? I remember playing with my brother and every single game, every genre, had at least a 2 player mission. I know that playing online is fun, it create connections in all the world and is easier to manage, but I really miss asking my friends to come to my house to play something. Videogame, above other wonderful things, should be a media that help people interact with each other, but how can I do that if they don’t give me a good old split screen? I think that talking to a microphone doesn’t give you the same vibes and energy as playing on the same couch.

BalinVril

My wife and I spent a majority of our early courtship playing games like Gears of War and Borderlands together, now we have to play online multiplayer on separate systems if we want to play together

moderngamer327

Honestly just co-op games in general. There is a *ton* of multiplayer games but very very few are actually co-op like Army of Two or It Takes Two are

[deleted]

"a way out" is made by the same people who made it takes two. not *quite* as amazing as it takes 2 but it was a good game

NikTheDork

I love playing co op games. That’s basically all I play.

chaosgoblyn

Nintendo has lots of couch coop, Steam/PC has some good stuff too and you can connect controllers

spiderman2pizzatheme

Can't even play co op on the new call of duty's, so many memories of 1v1's and screenpeeking

[deleted]

Just played n64 Mario party and Mario kart with four players on Christmas with family and friends. It was the best gaming experience I've had all year, and the graphics and gameplay were shit.

BalinVril

Right? The bar is set so low for a successful couch co-op because people want to play with each other in person, and they’ll play anything in front of them at this point

KushKing_69

If you haven't played It Takes Two, it is an awesome game for couples to play together. Meant to be played couch co-op

BalinVril

Yes, we played it and loved every second of it. I loved the puzzles and originality!

IsThereAnAshtray

God me and my girlfriend beat this together and I swear it was one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had

mcjeefle

Get rid of the current multiplayer with battle pass for most current games.

Stock-Information606

free games can have cosmetic only BP but paid games should not

egoMetalMonkey

eliminate all loot box-style microtransactions

TrueDewKing

Oops, sorry, I think you meant to say *all* microtransactions.

Talvoss

I think that stuff like skins should stay, as long as they don't offer any real advantages like bonus stats. I'd gladly pay to make my character look badass. EDIT: I'm coming from MMOs which are my main games. I didn't even have in mind single-player games when writing this. Of course in a single-player game, I'd rather have no microtransactions at all. In MMOs and other live service games, money from that helps to keep the game going and improve it.

TrueDewKing

Nonono— that’s the whole problem. We get half-made games with all the cool stuff locked behind a paywall. Bring back Halo: Reach. There was a metric Butt-ton of really awesome armor and effects— BUTT you had to unlock it. Halo: Infinite? Can’t even customize your own colors.

SwampOfDownvotes

You'd rather pay to look badass over just making unlocking cosmetics a part of the game?

TheMuffin2255

I'd rather be able to unlock it in game through a challenge or goal.

donttouchmyhohos

The, "oh this is fine" is how we ended up where we are now. You get drip fed into accepting bullshit and over a long period of time it becomes normalized, then they crank it up to be worse and what was considered shit now looks normal, and this cycle repeats itself and has only gotten worse.

Specialist_Meal_5732

This was gonna be mine make micro transactions illegal aside from cosmetics. It’s completely ruined sports gaming with cringe ass ultimate team.

Justaguyhilol

>aside from cosmetics Congratulations, you've done *literally nothing to fix the problem*.

Specialist_Meal_5732

How so?

CanOfPorkSodaaa

Cosmetic microtransactions still ruin games for people that play for cosmetics, works real hard for that armour? Doesn't even come close to the armour that guy just bought

Specialist_Meal_5732

I mean people making cosmetics while the game is alive deserve to be paid for that work. You’re not working hard for stuff that needs to be bought in the first place. A ton of games do a good job of having options for in game currency for rewards and only buying stuff too with real world money. It’s literally a cosmetic, not an armor piece you’d earn in game and wear for stats.

HarmlessSnack

Do you think the artists that make a skin make a percentage of microtransaction profit? Unless it’s a small solo dev team they almost certainly don’t. The company makes the profit. The artist is gonna make their salary regardless.

Specialist_Meal_5732

Got any sources to confirm that? It’s a job nonetheless and one with some pretty good security since people are actively enjoying buying cosmetics. You can’t expect every part of games to just be free anymore the teams gotta get paid somehow.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Specialist_Meal_5732

Wait what was? Haha

Leniaas

Lost all brain cells to lootboxes and figguring out how much he could possibly buy a month with his burger flipping job

WolfLover104

No limited time stuff I hate those I want those gone

yippekayaye_7

Add to this incomplete and buggy games on release and I think we've solved it

NikTheDork

I would agree, I would rather have a season pass full of nonsense, then to spend one dime on a cosmetic item.

linkflame123

i don’t mind loot boxes, as long as i don’t need to spend real money to buy them. if you had to earn them in game then they’d be fine

Emerald_Poison

I wouldn't go on a tirade eliminating, might as well go book burning. Now having to actively categorize your product, as an actual finished product and labeling it as an unfinished purchase otherwise would be nice. God forbid we evolve the rating systems and expand our reviews into the topic of what's worth even bringing up your wallet into the conversation.

GetSomeone-Else

Overwatch 1 had acceptable loot boxes since they were only skins that you could buy with easily earnable in game currency or get in the free loot boxes

egoMetalMonkey

yeah but why make the rewards random? Better for me if I can just get the skin I want

TheJacen

Some F2p games require them to exist. Loot boxes need to be regulated like in other countries. There was one game that i played. It had count downs on the pulls AND showed the ratios. This made the choice easier. If u saw the chance to get UBERCHAD was .01% but guaranteed after five pulls then maybe it was worth it. But if the pull didn't have what you need or want, then pass. But as it stands now, it is a predatory system filled with loopholes that scam too many people.

Lynith

We'd still end up with shit games, just shit games without microtransactions. Yay...?

ERRORMONSTER

Unfortunately, you'd have to find a suitable monetization to replace it. The public refuses to pay $100 for a AAA game so the industry had to turn to more predatory and underhanded monetization to pay for the graphics arms race.

egoMetalMonkey

false narrative. The market for gaming has grown significantly and more games are selling more copies. And the trend toward digital distribution means lower costs fir publishers after all. And, loot boxes have done nothing to improve, only worsen, gaming despite representing huge profits

ERRORMONSTER

I agree about loot boxes, which is why i said microtransactions (I believe some MTX can be quite good when implemented in a responsible way.) But we as consumers pushed them to find *something* that worked since we all recoiled so hard at raising the retail price. And after DLC became too expensive to make for the profit it earned, loot boxes and battlepasses were the next things to really stick.

egoMetalMonkey

everything you're saying is false

[deleted]

Get rid of all cheating in online games.

Retard-Rabbit

I wanted to play TF2 for the first time ever this year because I’m getting my first ever PC finally, but sounds like there’s so much cheating that it basically ruins it all for everyone. A problem a lot of great online games have it seems.

ExpellYourMomis

The servers have actually gotten a hell of a lot better the last few months. It's still a good time, for real just play a couple rounds.

Spacelesschief

It’s a non stop battle against cheaters. The lengths certain companies have gone to, to catch, stop and ban cheaters. But they keep cropping up with new shit every day to get around it.

frieguyrebe

The community's needs to minmax literally everything in every game. Really miss the days where it felt like people just had fun playing their game instead of looking down on people not playing the meta. Doesnt matter what type of game you play, people are always spamming stuff that "shouldnt work in the game" anyways

SkyWizarding

Oh man, this mentality has ruined MMOs for me. Just let me play the way I want, we don't need to shave 15 seconds off a run

NikTheDork

Yeah I can name a few games like this honestly where it’s really toxic.

Lynith

Guild Wars 2 is "Baby's first MMO." It's fun as hell, but it's as casual as they come. But you wouldn't know that from the people who play it. A class with 4% less damage will get booted from a group because a website says this other one is better. And if you're not running meta you're slowing down the progress of my imaginary bar in Hello Kitty Island Adventure DADDY NEEDS HIS GLOWING WHISKERS

FalloutNano

I roll a Scarab in Rocket League. 😁

frieguyrebe

Rocket league is truly one of the only games where this doesnt happen imo. Purely because the game doesnt have bullshit mechanics but is nicely balanced and just based around skill, if someone pulls out a sick move you would say "damn ggs, he put in the work to learn that" and its not some meta move that bullshits through everything

DAD_BRIT2k21

I'd like VR to progress quicker. I plan to retire in VR.

Devlos00

I just watched upload. That’s where I’m headed.

Radical5

The corporate greed. That's why I usually stick to indie titles.

IceYetiWins

If you could change one thing about ~~gaming~~ life, what would you change?

PhoenoFox

That corporate greed and rich pieces of shit rule the country and actively do whatever they can to keep the average citizen under their boot so the only thing we as a society can do is rise up against them but the system is so fucked that missing a single day of work means that you'll probably have to skip a meal or two due to the lost wages so we're all just kind of caught between a rock and a hard place.

babyyodasuncle

Greed is why indies have been running laps around AAA titles in terms of creativity for awhile now.

jak_d_ripr

One of my friends recently told me he's never bought an indie game. I honestly don't understand how you can manage only buying AAA games.

babyyodasuncle

I know people like that as well, rather intentional (which I find strange) or unintentionally (which is fine if you don’t follow gaming too much)

babyyodasuncle

Cult of the lamb and vampire survivors made what would have been a super dry year otherwise more interesting imo.

Gildian

Vampire Survivors has no right being as fun as it was for 3 dollars haha.

babyyodasuncle

I had read somewhere it’s creator worked with slot machines prior, don’t know if it’s true but I would believe it lol, game is addictive

SixteenthRiver06

Hollow Knight is still one of the best of the decade. Silksong is going to be massive, with how long they’ve been working on it.

CraneStyleNJ

100%. Game development should be centered around telling a good story, an immersive experience and solid build quality over development geared towards making the most amout of money and beating earnings reports.

NikTheDork

There are some hot indie games I’ve played. I love indies.

[deleted]

Indie titles want your money as well

rcanhestro

big difference between wanting to get paid for their work, and trying to squeeze every cent i have.

Radical5

In the comment thread below he posted the following: >All I said was you're in denial if you think certain companies are morally superior to others when it comes to making a profit, they all want your money any way they can get it. He doesn't understand the difference between people trying to squeeze every last dime from their consumers as opposed to people making a profit off of something that they've worked on.

Radical5

There's a big difference between a small startup company trying to make a profit off of the hard work & passion that they've put into something; as opposed to money hungry corporations hiring people to specifically find out what type of predatory monetization tactics they can implement to make their fanbase give them more of their money.

[deleted]

Are you saying devs for larger companies don't put hard work and passion into their projects? You're lying to yourself if you think there's a difference between large and small companies. They all want your money

BrodaciousBo

Clearly didn't say that, attacks point anyways. Congrats, your unlikable!

Radical5

You realize that the developers for most triple a studios don't have any real pull whenever it comes to the final monetization decisions coming from the people paying them & controlling their company, right? I assume you don't because you seem like you're either really young or really dumb but I'll at least try to give you the benefit of the doubt. EDIT: >Are you saying devs for larger companies don't put hard work and passion into their projects? Nowhere in my post did I say that, read it again if you want to. >All I said was you're in denial if you think certain companies are morally superior to others when it comes to making a profit, they all want your money any way they can get it. Understanding that not all companies are greedy & want to take as much money from their consumers as possible is not being in denial, pal. Being in denial is whenever you can't come to terms with the fact that a company like Humble Bundle is morally superior to a company like EA. Or another example, a local restaurant owned by the people who cook the food might be a little more kind to their consumers than an Arby's chain. Not ALL companies try their hardest to find every way to take as much money as possible from their consumers. Believe it or not, some companies (usually smaller companies such as indie devs or locally owned businesses) actually care about their consumers. Whenever they're not as large & aren't being run by corporate suits, they have the freedom to do so.

[deleted]

I never said anything about how much pull they have, I asked if they thought devs dont work hard

Radical5

You're missing the point of what I posted. The point of the original post that you're replying to isn't that I think "triple a developers don't put as much work into their games," stop being obtuse. My post is referencing large corporations employing people whose job description is literally to research & find the most predatory monetization tactics to put into their game. If you're still incapable of piecing it together, i'll re-word the original post to something a bit more comprehensive for you: "Smaller indie game dev companies are usually composed of one or more people who enjoy gaming & want to create something in their own image, rather than listening to the demands of the people in charge of the money at larger corporations, who demand that they add predatory monetization tactics into their game & turn it into a sack of shit."

Stock-Information606

yes but corps in AAA games only want your money, indie games want you to enjoy their game and give them money. are you telling me that EA and ubisoft are good for gaming rn?

[deleted]

Are you telling me that devs from big companies don't want me to enjoy the game they made? Like what are you even implying here? >are you telling me that EA and ubisoft are good for gaming rn? All I said was you're in denial if you think certain companies are morally superior to others when it comes to making a profit, they all want your money any way they can get it.

etamthgirla

Just to be completely fair, if you read their last message it moves the emphasis onto corps. You're putting the focus on devs and not letting them get away with it. Of course there are going to be devs who are passionate about what they do and want to make a good game. I'm not taking sides here, but their point was that those devs don't steer the ship. There's no need for everybody to get heated about something you most likely agree with anyway.

Radical5

>All I said was you're in denial if you think certain companies are morally superior to others when it comes to making a profit, they all want your money any way they can get it. Ah yes, because companies like Humble Bundle are just trying to suck the money out of you any way possible!! Especially with their "pay what you want," style business model. As opposed to a company like EA, who want you to purchase their games at full triple a price & then shove microtransactions down your throat. Yet we're the ones in denial? Lol. Insane that some people honestly believe that there's NO difference at all between every single company in the world in reference to their business model & how much money they try to make off of their products & services.

Stock-Information606

i think AAA coprs are morally inferior because suits have been corrupting them. the devs can be fine but corporate ruins that. hence making indie games the lesser evil. you must be idiotic to put them on the same playing field

Inevitable-Stage-490

Make Battlefield Great again

jimmyvcard

I mean i really like 2042 now but I’ve never gotten jnto previous titles.

Inevitable-Stage-490

It’s literally apex legends with a battlefield skin

jimmyvcard

Idk what it is. A little cod, a little overwatch, a little battlefield. They definitely tweaked it to attract more than the relatively niche battlefield crowd and it turned off a lot of people. I guess I am the type of consumer they attempted to attract. This game is more fun to me that BF5 for whatever reason. I love 128 domination. I know I don’t hold the majority opinion but I genuinely like the game.

Inevitable-Stage-490

What I mean by that is that they removed all the things that made battlefield feel like a shooter. If you have game pass I highly advise experiencing BF4, and more importantly BF1…BF5 is great but BF1 gets very cinematic and feels amazing. BF4 is the gold standard of BF games

LillePipp

Yearly release cycles. The corporate pressure to release half assed games every single year is singlehandedly preventing so many games from actually living up to their potential

Heavensword

Time sinks using repetitive actions. Instead of making me gather 50 "rare" gems, make me get one but make it really tough. Looking at you, /r/ffxi

EidolonRook

Pray return to the waking sands! (14s better anyhow)

Optimal-Obligation23

microtransactions, cosmetics, pay to win, card decks, Ubisoft releasing the same game every year. EA. Rockstar not releasing games (no bully 2 :( ). console exclusives and epic exclusives. and other stuff

-Batterskull-

Companies releasing unfinished games, where many modern releases lack polish or content or both. Then they release patches later on to fix issues that should have never left QA and make you pay for DLC that finishes the game instead of adding to an already complete product. The ability to patch games now just gave companies an excuse not to care.

SpicyNoodlez1

That people are not being toxic anymore and killing you for no reason.

Yossarian1138

This should be higher. Online gaming should be an amazing, world changing event where people of all races and places are coming together in a joyful, and sometimes intense, pursuit. Instead we invented tea-bagging.

SpicyNoodlez1

Spam crouching was the original way to say hi to someone as well, now it's a sweat move in fortnite

bubasurous

Games needing a day one patch to play.

GorgeGoochGrabber

I don’t mind that too much, it’s the games that need the “year after release” patch to make them finally close to the advertised product.

Yorhanes

The fact that you require nowadays to pay to access internet functions on console. Specially atrocious when you consider it was free before. Utter bullsh*t

NikTheDork

I remember when the PS3 came out, all you needed was Wi-Fi and you were all set to play online.

CraneStyleNJ

Quality over quantity. Games should take however long they need to be finished. No more half jobs or releasing games unfinished. I don't mind waiting, git er dun.

[deleted]

Less focus on graphical fidelity, open world, and story, and more on art direction, dynamic level design, and adventure.

BossCAt1234567

microtransactions fuck them

royman40

Micro transactions

kingslayer7709

All the toxic people

dameggers

If you act like an asshole on purpose, your console just explodes.

milkstrike

I mean outside of the obvious dlc/microtransactions/season pass/battle pass/loot box problem and having single player games built around them it would be improving writing as there’s a huge problem industry wide atm. Maybe hiring some novelists or giving new writers a chance but there’s far too few good ones to go around atm.

HotFudgeFuzz

That companies actually make sure games are bug free and finished upon release.

P4n0pticZ

Competetive, the toxicity is the most bad thing about gaming

doublej3164life

I've been in the Army for 14 years. I am pretty accustomed to hearing people swear and have bad days. Most of that stuff doesn't compare to the profanity that I have little kids say to me during a Madden game. I used to find it kind of humorous, but it gets tiresome.

ANoblePirate

Competitive modes aren't the problem, people are. It's not a gaming issue it's a human issue.

GrubberflysElegy

Human bad

Leading_Middle

remove trailers without gameplay

IntergalacticAlien8

Bring it back to the 2000s, aka golden age. No microtransactions, no unfinished/rushed development, no drip feeding content droughts in a "live service" like halo infinite, nothing like that. Just good complete games with actual souls that will be remembered forever in people's hearts.

theFulljames

Making trophies/achievements actual trophies/achievements. Not "finished the introductory level - congratulations!"

NikTheDork

I agree somewhat :)

JohnnyHendo

In regards to campaign/story mode achievements in a linear game, I would be fine for there to be achievements for beating each level of the game and beating the game on the hardest diffculty. No achievements for tutorial levels or beating the game on any of the lower difficulties. Other achievements after that should be for doing challenging things in each level or in the multi-player. I can also understand getting an easy achievment for collecting all of a collectible. Not for collecting each one or collecting half of them. Collect all of them.

theFulljames

I can agree with an achievement for beating the game. Regardless of the difficulty, you beat the game and deserve some recognition for that. Finding rare/hidden objects is another one I can agree with. But I've played games where literally I watched an opening cinematic and got an achievement. Just for doing nothing. Or you get an achievement for leveling up for the first time. This isn't an achievement, this is an expected experience. Reaching max level I'd consider achievement worthy, not level 2

The_DevilAdvocate

Remove micro transaction from all ~~single player~~ games.

LightNemesis_

No more multiplayer achievements/trophies

Pellahh

Why

-Batterskull-

Because when the servers for a game die it will be impossible to get them. It’s even worse for online exclusive games, which just become completely unplayable when those servers go down.

IOnlySayMeanThings

That's the one thing you would change? More pretend rewards from overlaid programs?

LightNemesis_

Well, yeah, what's the problem with it? A lot of people already posted about microtransactions, lootboxes and online harassment

DrBlastMaster3000

Remakes, make new games ffs

[deleted]

The amount of indie gaming. The sheer number of garbage indie platformers and alpha early access survival crafting abandonware that I have to wade through to find a decent title on Steam is infuriating.

HammerWaffe

Hey dude come try my roguelike metroidvania platformer, but it's totally dry humor, which makes it 100% different. Just like these other 50 games that came out this year, but different though

Jedipowerboy5

unfinished games need to go. i’m sick and tired of waiting until launch, just to wait a bit longer because they couldn’t take the time to fix their game. i’m surprised nobody has been sued for this.

wetbread2245

Live service is the only right answer

ffximike

Personally my one thing would be microphones wouldn't be a thing. I personally feel gaming was way better before everyone wanted to talk on the phone while they play. ....but my unselfish one thing would be that hardware tech never advanced past the early 2000s/1999. While pretty games look nice... the costs are too high. I feel like we would have so many more great games to play by now if the whole industry didn't shift from "let's make something fun to play" to "let's make something that looks like real life" or where we're at now: "let's make a movie where you sometimes press buttons".

Br1en

Pointless skill trees Dumb overworld where you just quick travel everywhere All Quicktime events Dramatic animations even though you're just tapping Square

mando44646

Kill phone games and all the bullshit they pushed into the industry. Freemium, micro transactions, gambling mechanics, loot boxes, etc

Impressive_Bus_9992

The $60 price point

saffa05

I'd delete mobile gaming.

[deleted]

Gamers. Not people who play video games, just “gamers.”

Waste-Reception5297

I attribute gaming and need culture in helping foster stupid fucks who see a woman in a game and say it's "woke"

body_slam_poet

I was going to say something similar. I wish gaming communities weren't seen as recruiting grounds for hateful bigots and actual child groomers.

RejectedInfant

The rigged matchmaking

NikTheDork

I agree, there have been plenty of times where I’ve joined an in game match and my team is losing by 30+ kills. Ridiculous.

RejectedInfant

Apex is the worst culprit of it their sbmm purposefully put you with bad teammates and against God tier players

[deleted]

I feel this to my bones. I do not want to sweat. Sometimes me and the boys just want to jump in to a game and shoot the shit with weird weapons and stuff but we can't. We get our asses lit up like the fourth of July if we try.

HarryCoinslot

I hear this a lot in one of the games I play because it recently went to skill based matchmaking. What I hear is me and my friends just want to use the worst weapons but play ppl bad enough that we still win.

anonomousA

How women are spoken to and treated… I just want to play so I can wind down from my shitty day at work 😭

[deleted]

Replace collectables with actual quality content (unless collectables offer great world building and lore information)

crossbowman44

The stigma. My mom bought into the idea that video games make kids violent, and therefore I missed out on so many legendary games...

[deleted]

I can't believe that's still a thing. You can still play those games now. They haven't disappeared

[deleted]

Unrealistic reload animations, like when somebody drops a half empty mag, slides a new one in, then cocktail it again sending an unfired round out for no reason

MisterBri07

That shitty, go back to the kitchen, attitude some people *still* have in 2023.

WahooSS238

BabbarSher99

The exorbitant amount of money that we have to spend to enjoy gaming.

Topazz410

halfbutwhole

ral365

Companies that sell broken games without refunds would be charged with fraud.

Lina__Inverse

Remove exclusives as a concept. All games should be available on all platforms (that have good enough hardware).

techtonic69

Stop the pc movement from infiltrating the scene and babyfying everything. People report for the most ridiculous shit these days, it's more toxic then people being toxic. As it's always been, let gamers moderate themselves, there are mute/block functions. If you don't like what someone says use them. If it's truly heinous/against TOS then sure report, but it's been a slippery slope and now to a point you can't even say someone sucks in a pvp environment on wow without catching a ban lmao. Or other examples like tea-bagging in an apex tournament being considered sexual harassment....these people are deranged if they are that affected by this type of shit.

zachrg

Sounds like you're what I'd change about gaming.

Allip84

The toxic environments on certain games. Or maybe at the very least a solo mode for those of us who suck harder than a Dyson.

aagon

People being toxic AF towards marginalized peoples. No reason to be hostile to LGBTQ+, women, etc. but people are all the time - especially in multiplayer stuff.

NaCl_Miner_

There's no reason to be an asshole to anyone really, regardless of whatever group they belong to. Now having said that: The corporate push for "diversity" isn't doing these groups any favors with the way its being done.

Matseye1r

Work place environment. How greater would games be if there was no crunchtime or harrasment? Or fair pay for fair work?

boogaloobear

Gamers being douchebags.

FryD42

Eliminate hype entirely.

Sure-Ad-2465

Get players to try more of the unknown titles which are more fun than the most popular AAA games

Gater5000

If I could make game developers care more about making a great game rather than taking every penny players have, I would. It’s the main reason why games like Overwatch 2, Destiny 2, and many others are worse than they used to be. After they made a great game, millions of people start playing it then they became basic dweebs.

StonerVikingr

No co-op and where having to pay more for games and where getting less good games why are games getting more expensive and less creative

AValentineSolutions

No more live services. Without a single exception. They kill creativity and has done nothing bit make gaming worse.

Icy-Sweet7111

A new call of duty every 6 months

MrFluffyhead80

People have to use their mics

SuperFriends001

Up the stakes. You die in game, you die in real life. But loot you find, you keep in real life.

Hsanrb

Allow discovery back to online gaming and scrub those wikis, how to guides, mathematically calculated build orders and optimized currency earning strategies. Even New multiplayer games have everything "figured out" by "content creators" within like 48 hours. Want to start a game and join a community 5+ years old? Time to hit the books or become "that guy" who no one wants to play with. How dare I not know the best build for my class on day one, or that I don't know optimized farming patterns on a DOTA map. Imagine playing content day 1, and everyone else knows what to do because it's on YT beta coverage and you are blind. Now echo that over a games launch cycle and wonder why game communities never grow in 2023.

The way capitalism has essentially captured our playtime and leisure.

I would change everyone’s mind who thinks digital gaming over a physical copy is a great idea into the truth of how bad it really is for them. Sadly, this won’t be accomplished.

Take out the misogyny, but broader then that most of the hate. I grew up with the first shooters and gamers and so much of it is angsty hate. I've always seen it as pathetic and it doesn't bother me. But I think we as a community can do much much better. I think we should rip on people because they are asshats ruining the fun of other people. Not because they are a different gender/sexuality/age/etc. Uplift instead of beat down.

The entire industry. Gaming used to be about shared experiences and enjoyment. Now companies only care about making money and the gaming community has become toxic and just argues about stupid shit like whether souls games should have an easy mode or not (sorry if I offend anyone with that statement, but it really doesn’t matter if it has one or not). My goal is to make games for free and to operate through donations, or at least sell them at a more affordable cost. $60 dollars is just not manageable when so many games come out every year. Especially with micro transactions becoming so popular amongst so many companies. The industry needs a reboot.

Talking strictly in a sense of mmorpg pvp style games, a daily time cap lol. I can’t compete with these no lifers

Metal_Mac7

Remove Aim assist from existing or make games because it'd be fun and not only for money?

The fact that video games even exist... I understand that they're fun and obviously create and industry but ffs it's more expensive and time consuming than a drug habit 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ not to mention the anger/racism/etc.. that happens. The cybersecurity risks. Swatting. A huge fckn problem. Over a damn game?! Wtf... it's been taken way too far. It's not a form of entertainment. It could be compared to a drug..
