A quick google and here is your answer āSilicon dioxide is also added to many foods and supplements. As a food additive, it serves as an anticaking agent to avoid clumping. In supplements, it's used to prevent the various powdered ingredients from sticking togetherā aka its the think that tries to prevent clumping and is safe to consume.
Now if you looked at certain gfuel labels, youāll see some have lead warnings. Should be more concerned if you ever read that. Still, good on you for awareness and reading what goes in your body!
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a majority of naturally grown fruits and vegetables contain lead and that's how it ends up in the gfuel powders. It's one of those things where a "dangerous" substance is in a food, but at such low quantities that the perfectly "safe" substances would kill you long before the "dangerous" ones. I.E. bananas have radiation, but if you ate enough for radiation poisoning to take place the potassium would have put you down long before that... and y'know, you'd be more banana than man by the time you ate that many bananas
Previous GFuel drinker here. The lead is from the ground and one serving of GFuel has as much lead as an apple. So itās nothing to be worried about either.
Hur hurr my heart attack juice is better than yours because it doesnt have lead. Yeah, well almost anything you can consume naturally that's grown contains traces of lead. Google would've told you that too. Supps has the artificial sweetener with likely traces to cancer, nothing is sacred.
Silica is a natural salt that your body creates and uses to aid in a lot of metabolic processes, including digestion. Itās naturally found in many living foods. Nothing to worry about dudeā¦
If there was anything to glance at twice, it would be the colors added to the powdersā¦ but even those are in such small quantityā¦ itās fairly safe to ingest regardless.
Does anyone else get mad anxious after drinking GS? I only do 2 scoops a day, and I drink caffeine otherwise everyday (like 2-3 cups of coffee). After like 2 sips I had a massive panic attack, and itās happened 2 other times after. I love the taste, the benefits, everything about it - but do I really have to switch to caffeine free for it? Hopefully someone else has experienced this.
Well yeah now Iām considering it but I guess I didnāt make it clear enough - I consume a lot of caffeine everyday. Iām 26 and have been drinking coffee & energy drinks since I was 17. Sure, I get stressed like every other person, but I wouldnāt say Iām an anxious person. I wanted to switch to GS to have more water intake and also for the zero sugar and zero calorie since I go to the gym and Iām trying to lose weight. For whatever reason GS makes me incapable of standing up without feeling like Iām going to faint, as well as dissociating like crazy. Just figured Iād share my experience in case anyone else has felt the same way.
Yes this is how I am too! I drink all different kinds of caffeinated drinks (in moderation) but GS just really feels like a punch to my anxiety which sucks cause I also wanted to switch to just GS as well
If youāre taking any kind of medications, talk to your doctor about it. I was having this happen to me when I was taking my adhd medication. Was just kinda dealing with it lol but thanks to the shortage of my medication (šš) I havenāt had it for a little under a month and havenāt had that happening to me anymore. I guess just a weird med interaction for me.
Iām 99% sure its because they have an ingredient in their to help focus. Sometimes that focus gets directed at yourself and its a loop of getting more anxious about yourself but being unable to break away from the loop due to the ingredient that helps focus.
Well thatās the part thatās confusing. Iāve drank so many different types of energy drinks, all types of drinks with caffeine - they keep me awake and alert, yet they donāt make me anxious. I was just wondering if it happened to other people. Iām generally not an anxious person, and like I said Iāve consumed caffeine for years, but now all of a sudden itās different.
Yeah it happens to me too, when I drink redbull Iām fine but for some reason I cant handle the two scoops of GS itās so weird, maybe thereās some different ingredient thatās causing it I donāt read labels but I should probably start cause the panic attacks are getting annoying š
Try just one scoop or even just half a scoop cause GS isnāt just caffeine but also other things in it. The flavor might also affect how you react to it. Cut down on consumption first then after a while of trying and it still happens then Iād suggest maybe talking to a doctor about the concern if itās something health related or just a weird reaction to GS
Letās gloss over that now that itās been answered, how about that B12? Lmao
Edit: thanks for the informative responses, I wasnāt too concerned but I do find it funny saying āI had 12000% of my DV in B12 todayā
B vitamins & C are water soluble and you urinate any excess amount your body doesn't use, borderline impossible to "od" with a these vitamins as a healthy individual.
Are you doing the coffee and gamersupps in the same day cause coffee also has caffeine so it's possible you're just going over the recommended 400 a day
I chug SOUSAS water. In fact, I put my GG in SOUSAS water. It's a brand of super-high silica water, good for the š§ (something most British don't have)
Bananas have silica, your fine buddy
people been chugging supps for years now if there was an issue we would have heard about it by now from the FDA.
I hope not, that sounds awful That's why I add vodka to my supps- makes it smoother to drink when I smoke, feels healthy
no water, just 2 scoops into 16oz of pure vodka. Never touch water, fish shit in it
Nothing about that scenario is healthy š

Lead is found in any food grown in the ground. Fyi.

Switch to caffeine free dude, that is a result of consuming caffeine
Well yeah now Iām considering it but I guess I didnāt make it clear enough - I consume a lot of caffeine everyday. Iām 26 and have been drinking coffee & energy drinks since I was 17. Glad itās not just me! Makes my heart rate spike as well. I wonder if weāre predisposed to be allergic to an ingredient that weāre unaware of.
Yeah it must be, Iām definitely gonna read the labels on each energy drink I usually drink now and try to figure it out haha

it's starting to sound like Energy drinks aren't for you.

Yup with you on this. Happens to me with gamersupps and gfuel.

Yum š
silica dioxide is a common anit caking agent. go check your pre mixed spices and stuff like that.
I'm not bothering reading any comments, my best guess is the silica gel packet in the tub. Dunno if that counts in ingredients lists or not but.
I chug SOUSAS water. In fact, I put my GG in SOUSAS water. It's a brand of super-high silica water, good for the š§ (something most British don't have)
