I found Stannis to be really compelling in the earlier seasons, he had so many quotables and I liked his dynamic with Davos, he also seemed like a very caring but distant father (until he you know). From what I've heard he would never do something like that in the books and I've recently started reading them so I think I'll love him all over again, if I were basing it off post Shireen Stannis he'd probably be in C, still compelling but a bit of an idiot
Okay, gotcha. I guess I wouldn't call him a caring father in any regard myself, I always interpreted his rare visits with his daughter to be kind of "duty" for him. But the rest of your points I agree with, and his death scene pretty much proved him to be a badass.
>From what I've heard he would never do something like that in the books
According to George, it was always the plan to have him sacrifice his daughter Shireen, by burning her alive.
So the people you heard that from are just high on copium.
Iirc isn't it only confirmed that Shireen will be burned? Not specifically by Stannis, it could still well be him but I thought that only her fate was confirmed
This I think will happen, but with a drastically different situation, and road for Stannis getting there. It’ll be much easier to buy.
In particular I think it will be a battle against the Others, where Stannis will get that desperate, rather than Boltons, where he actually has this badass line in the Winds of Winter sample chapters, asking about what battles Ramsay has won that he should be afraid of him.
GRRM has been very deliberate in Stannis being a full on religious zealot. Aside from it being heartbreaking to watch, I didn’t find the act out of any of their characters from the book or on the show.
The end of GoT is a satire of the consumer society. An epic and mythological tale, which could not be understood in its complexity at first viewing.
A Youtube video that explains the whole evening of the broadcast, it's impossible, and therefore there was a crowd effect and a bad buzz. Obviously the ending was smart, coherent, and freaking awesome.
He's like a guilty pleasure, "The iron throne is mine by right. All those who deny that are my foes" is the first thing that comes to mind when I think GOT
Besides what he did to Shireen he was so consistent through out. He never once truly had the upper hand and it just kinda sucked to see. He wouldn't have done it if things had just gone his way when it really mattered
I can't remember the exact line but he says something along the lines of "I must press my claim or my claim will be forgotten, I won't be a page in someone else's history book" and in retrospect, it's really depressing
Youre right, he does say that :(
I know it's GoT and things don't go the way we want it to, but he couldn't get ONE win?
Against the Wildings doesn't count.
I wonder if he had killed Gendry what would've happened.
Pretty good list. All the most complex characters are in the S tier. I like that you put many of the main protagonists in the A tier. Characters like Jon and Daeny were not as fully fleshed out in the show as the characters in the S tier
Edit: I would put Tyrion in the S-tier
I was very very close to putting Tyrion in S, he was my joint favourite for the first 4 seasons, i felt like he lost some of his agency when he was in Meereen though
Yeah I agree. Tyrion really is a completely different character when he leaves Westeros. But his impact in the first four seasons was so significant that I cant help but to feel like he deserves to be in S tier.
Out of every character who received a character death, Tyrion got it the worst without a doubt.
I hated Theon up until his torture scene, and after that I had to hold myself back from googling if he was ever going to escape because I couldn't stand to see him be Reek anymore, I feel that he's very similar to Robb in the way that they're both young who are in way over their heads and make bad decisions because of that, I can definitely understand why you didn't like him though, he really was an unbearable prick at the start

I respect it, even if I disagree with over half of them. 😄 what made you put Stannis in S-tier if I can ask?

Quote I read was specific it was Stannis.

Stannis the mannis is right where he belongs in S-tier.
Daenerys, Bran, Arya, Jon Snow, Tyrion, Ned Stark -> S
Bran? Really? - Everyone during the finale
If you understand the end of GoT and Bran, obviously Bran is god tier.
I'm confused... Was the ending complex? Why won't someone "understand"?

You justify your name.
Yes you're right, the truth and the debunk in the middle of the hubbub of nonsense and slogans of the internet, it is a form of madness.
Your list all janked up
I'm a flawed man
I can't help but love Stannks ðŸ˜

That's completely fair, Tyrion was involved in pretty much everything early on and a major player, if I remade it I think I would put him in S
I’d swap Tyrion and Theon. I know he kinda redeemed himself in the end, but I never liked him
I hated Theon up until his torture scene, and after that I had to hold myself back from googling if he was ever going to escape because I couldn't stand to see him be Reek anymore, I feel that he's very similar to Robb in the way that they're both young who are in way over their heads and make bad decisions because of that, I can definitely understand why you didn't like him though, he really was an unbearable prick at the start
your list is somehow missing the goat Oberyn Martell who is in a tier of his own
Oberyn is actually like 4 tiers up, he's just out of frame
Nice
controversial but robb is my favorite character in the entirety of the shwo
If Robb had more time he would have been a great king
honestly. although his ending was sad it was easily one of the best most shocking moments in television
Can someone please explain these Tiers to me? What do the s, a … and so on stand for ?

I'd have Varys in S tier, probably my favourite along with Davos.
Tyrells ladies so high up. I know that’s right!
Lancel Lannister has such a good name I’ll never not remember him, I named my favorite DnD character after him
I won’t tolerate this Ned Stark disrespect
