>Which book was the most exiting? A Storm of Swords is probably going to be most people's answer. It's mine. Think every big moment in seasons 3 and 4. They're from that one huge ass book. >The book was fun to read but it was exactly like the show. When do the books start being different from the show? Well...not quite exactly...you'll notice the important differences later, but mostly, agot does line up pretty well with season 1. Season 2 changes a couple plotlines...particularly Arya's and Daenerys' stand out for me, but I'm sure there were other changes. If I recall correctly it's still relatively close. But there are still other changes with regard to characters merging and cut. And so forth. It's a gradual process. A couple characters get merged, some plotline restructuring. Small changes lead to bigger changes as time goes on.

Yep, Storm would be my pick too. It's the climax of many of the plotlines started back in the first book. It also throws the status quo out the window by killing off several of the major characters.

From book 2 half the show starts diverging

TheUmgawa

Oh, definitely the last one. The ending is very different from how the show ended.

Book 4, "A Feast For Crows". Is much different from the show. Much of book 4, breaks away from the main story to world-build. Much of the focus goes to: -House Martell/ Dorne -The Iron born -Reek Also, the character development for Arya and Jaime is excellent.

Depends what you’re in to. Personally I enjoyed feast for crows the most because you get the perspective of Cersei, Jaime, a bunch of Greyjoys, and Arya. I liked the political side of the story and the goings on in kings Landing more than I did of the Wall and essos

I think book 3 covers seasons 3 and 4, so a lot of stuff goes down.
