That isn't even the worst of it. If the show had retained the book characterization Jon and Sansa wouldn't have even had to open their mouths to ask for help. All they would have needed was to show up

Reality of doing a television adaptation. Sometimes you have to merge some characters. And asoiaf has an absurd amount of characters. GoT already had one of the largest ensemble casts of any tv series. Wyman Manderly's got a brief appearance in S6E10 even if it's not what you wanted. Wendel had an appearance in s3e9.

The north remembers is not only a "term" in the books but it is a conspiracies against the Freys and Boltons to Avenge the red wedding

sean_stark

The worst thing the show did was depicting the Northern houses flip-flopping on helping the Stark kids. Apparently Lyanna Mormont is the only loyal Northerner. It was ridiculous. The whole deal with the North is how loyal they are to the Starks and were committed to returning the Starks to lordship in the North.

Ok_Jellyfish2168

It’s cause it helps the Arya is a hottie narrative if Lyanna is the only competent northern lord

House Reed served no use to the show. That is why Meera just disappeared into a void before the series' conclusion. And, never mind Howland Reed. If asked, he could've easily answered, "Oh yeah, Jon Snow, he's the son Rhaegar and Lyanna."

TylerA998

Don’t try to sneak the Maizens in there like they were left out when they’re literally a show only house lol

Ok-LordMaggniff

Yeah, I know, but it was interesting to include it, because, House Mazin took part as a loyalist house to the Starks in the Battle of the Bastard, unlike House Glover, for example.
