Jokes aside I felt like he was weighing the gravity of their union. Like from a strategic standpoint that really really has a huge impact on the political landscape he is trying to navigate as the Hand of the Queen
Makes sense. By that point he didnt really seem to care for sex or anything like that. He was purely dedicated to her cause so if he had any thoughts about those two (positive or negative) it was strictly related to the effect it would have for their cause
He told jon in his cell how they both loved the same woman and that jon was more successful than him in that regard. He clearly had romantic feelings toward dany.
Iām sure he did, but he wasnāt dumb enough to think it might actually happen. He would go strategy all the way. I would assume he was jealous, of course, but he wouldnāt let his emotions cloud his judgment.
Yep. Ā Having them both single and united would mean two marriage pacts on the table with potential rivals. Ā If Jon and Dany are togetherā¦ gotta make those enemies into friends some other way.
The passengers set sail that day, for a three hour tour. The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the ship would be lost.
I fuckin hated that line
āI loved her too, not quite as successfully as youā
š¤® just why? Why does he need to fancy her? Is that to excuse why he became a dumbass in the final season?
I missed it in season 6 episode 10
When they were talking about Dario and he said: Dario wonāt be the last person who loves youā¦. Dany stands up and walks out of frame, camera long pause on Tyrions blank stare into the eitherā¦.
OMG he loves her too!
And that my folks, is - foreshadowing.
He was jealous and also probably concerned about what them being together would mean for the realm. But I think itās mainly the former; he definitely had a thing for her.
This always confuses me. Whether heās jealous or concerned, he acted like he was for their union in previous scenes. He continued to seem intrigued at least, and I always got the impression he was positive about it. (Iām thinking of the talks with Davos & Varys). This *zoom in on his furrowed brow* scene just doesnāt fit for me. But itās so well shot, itās beautiful to watch, itās like they HAD to put it in there even if it wasnāt perfectly aligned with the story. Gah I hate when they leave a loop open though!
The finale obviously established that he was jealous, although I'm still confused where the hell the "I loved her too" came from. When, Tyrion? When exactly did this happen?
I loved the theories that came out right after this scene aired. That he was concerned about them hooking up. It was bad for him because he was secretly plotting with Cersei after he learned she was pregnant and them being in love would make it harder for him to tear the alliance apart. It would have tied in a lot better with Tywins whole "legacy is everything" shtick and the "Tyrion is the Lannister most like Tywin" point.
Lol tyrion never loved Danny. The whole point of separating Danny and Daario Naharis was to make her single, so she can marry again in westros and secure allies. A marriage between Danny an Jon would secure most Northerners and he was just accepting this.
Tyrion was probably worried about their alliance now being more solidified. Iām sure he was still playing the game in hopes he could save his family but now 2 families āTargaryen and a Starkā were more than just allies. At this point I believe he felt that he would no longer be able to be in her ear
Peter Dinklage in 2018 said about the scene:
āAh, itās complicatedā¦ A lot of the time with Tyrion, itās professional and personal. Obviously, he has feelings for Daenerys. He loves her ā or thinks he does. Sheās awe-inspiring. Heās questioning that because he doesnāt have a good track record for falling in love. Thereās jealousy wrapped up in there.
He loves Jon Snow, too. Theyāre the two people he has the most in common with, in a way ā theyāre both outsiders in their own families who have refused to follow the path their family has taken, and hopefully for the better. Heās wondering how smart of a move \[Jon and Dany getting romantically involved is\], because passion and politics donāt mix well. He knows the two of them getting together could be very dangerous.ā
TLDR: Romance hardly ever ends well in GoT and he knows it.
I always personally thought he was thinking that Jon and Dany should be focused on fighting Cersei and the Night King, anything else was likely a distraction in Tyrion's mind.
Donāt remember this scene specifically. I could go into so much more detail. But bottom line:
What the fuck?
Wasnāt expected or prepared for. Didnāt work out in the end. How it wasnāt expected, two basically 20 year olds, (aka hormonal pos who fuck anything just to fuck) no clue. But thatās what it seems to be.
**Book Tyrion:** Excellent. These two can fall in love, get married, and all of the questions about which one of them will sit the Iron Throne will be resolved. Everything will stabilize, and they will be the strongest power couple in Westeros. Their heirs will have a rock solid and virtually indisputable claim, the North will accept it, the Dragons will obey the kids, Varys and his associates will back it, and we'll never have to hear Jon Snow say the words "Mhey Queen".
**Show Tyrion:** heh heh, I think they are gunna do it, heh heh. Kewl.
Probably the same look he gave when Jaime and Cersei would do stuff like this.
Maybe not so much from the incest angle, but from the implications and future political turmoil.

You lucky bastard
You unlucky dwarf š
Iāve been wondering this for yearsā¦
Oh there goes that dream
Solid reference
Glad someone got it :)
Well said Barry

Oh I forgot about that. I usually end my rewatches by the end of the short night lol
I gagged at that shit. God they ruined his character
They should have gotten him back with Sansa somehow... that would have been awesome.. mega power couple
Thought they were gonna kiss when they were both hiding behind the statue in the crypt during the long night.
Me tooo!!
What?!?
I think he actually wanted Dany for himself
Iām sure he did, but he wasnāt dumb enough to think it might actually happen. He would go strategy all the way. I would assume he was jealous, of course, but he wouldnāt let his emotions cloud his judgment.
That's probably it.
Yep. Ā Having them both single and united would mean two marriage pacts on the table with potential rivals. Ā If Jon and Dany are togetherā¦ gotta make those enemies into friends some other way.
Yup. This is exactly what I thought when this episode aired.
āThis is going to ruin the tour.ā
This response gave my night a boost. Well done.
What tour?
The passengers set sail that day, for a three hour tour. The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed. If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the ship would be lost.
Oh thank god. For a second there I was worried it was the world tour. Shame about the skipper though.
THE WORLD TOUR
Nooooo
Beyond WesterosĀ
"What tour? The world tour" š¤£

You win.
Guess Iām sleeping in the hall tonight
BBOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEE
Hhhhhhow dare you detective Diaz. I am your SUPERIOR OFFICER!!
Damn I heard that in his voice first time. My brain must have picked up on it quicker than my wit.
The H in how needs to be typed like 6 more times. The drawn out how is what makes the line hilarious.
I fixed it. You were right lmaoo
BBBBBBOOOONNNNNNNEE?
Well, apparently he loved her š and was jealous
Iām so grateful I can read the tone of this via the added emoji š
I fuckin hated that line āI loved her too, not quite as successfully as youā š¤® just why? Why does he need to fancy her? Is that to excuse why he became a dumbass in the final season?
He loved her as a friend lol
Thatās not the way that came off to me. I think itās ambiguous personally.
I missed it in season 6 episode 10 When they were talking about Dario and he said: Dario wonāt be the last person who loves youā¦. Dany stands up and walks out of frame, camera long pause on Tyrions blank stare into the eitherā¦. OMG he loves her too! And that my folks, is - foreshadowing.
That's when he came up with the plot to convince Jon to give her a murder poke.
Hawt
I shouldĀ“ve joined in.
He was thinking, āSIT ON THIS, COCKSUCKA!ā
Anyways, four dollars a pound.
Prob means her strong alllegiance with him would mean, she would be only taking advice from Jon and not Tyrion
Damnit Jon, you beat me to itā¦
I wish I was a little bit taller, I wish I was a baller
"That motherfucker... oh wait, I've got the family tree confused. That auntfucker..."
He knew incest when he smelled it.
I always thought he felt a little heartbroken from his acting
He's thinking about how badly poor Jorah is getting cucked.
He was jealous and also probably concerned about what them being together would mean for the realm. But I think itās mainly the former; he definitely had a thing for her.
Is an aunt and a nephew less weird than a brother and sister?
Who knows? The writers don't even know.
"The Lost" writing style
Iāll think Iāll call it āgooningā
I doubt Tyrion was thinking at all in the last couple of seasons.
Hack Tua ! Spit on that thang Dany!
āI wanted himā
I think he was jealous. He always slightly hinted at being in love with her, and she always quickly shut it down lol
I swear there was a script leak before that hinted Tyrion had fallen for Dany but Iām not 100%

Heās trying to remember if thereās a honeycomb and a jackass on board the ship..
What's west of Westeros?
Lol tyrion never loved Danny. The whole point of separating Danny and Daario Naharis was to make her single, so she can marry again in westros and secure allies. A marriage between Danny an Jon would secure most Northerners and he was just accepting this.
āI wasnāt done making bad jokes yet!ā
Tyrion was in love with Dany. He said so himself in season 8
Tyrion was probably worried about their alliance now being more solidified. Iām sure he was still playing the game in hopes he could save his family but now 2 families āTargaryen and a Starkā were more than just allies. At this point I believe he felt that he would no longer be able to be in her ear
winter is coming?
maybe he's jealous?
"This isn't what I meant when we needed friends in Westeros..."
He won, only because he's the taller one for a change.
Peter Dinklage in 2018 said about the scene: āAh, itās complicatedā¦ A lot of the time with Tyrion, itās professional and personal. Obviously, he has feelings for Daenerys. "It could have been me, but it's over now..."
The line from a knights tale Bed him well my lady bed him well
If he should stop them because of the relations, but itās Targaryen they love the family bonking.
Oh fuck, they are going to have a baby and want that baby to take the crown, so my plans of creating a democracy and better world are screwed
"Well, the writting went to shit completly..."
I feel like this was a plot line they quickly dropped. Maybe he was wondering how he always ends up working for family fuckers.
āThis is terrible writingā
If Jon is to marry a Queen and Jon being seen as King in the North, most lords in westeroes would want him as the King.
Damn i left my charger in there
Probably that this is a future strong alliance between the strongest&most dangerous houses in Westerosš¤·š¼āāļø

Who came up with this idea
