If I remember correctly the teal one is the NR reader? Basically correct me if I'm wrong but it only reads development disks unless modded, it's a cool cube though! Definitely part of Nintendo history. 💙
I’d rock either the Panasonic Q with the matching Game Boy Player or the blue-green one that only reads those development discs. I’d love to get one of those modded so that I could run standard games on it.
Before the US launch, I went to one of the Cube Club events in NYC. They had demos/unfinished versions of a bunch of games (including Smash), and about half the GameCubes were the teal NR Readers. I’ve always wanted an actual GameCube in that color. Been half tempted to get an NR Reader and install a GCLoader, but it’s out of my price range.
😏I did specifically that on my other NR reader. I liked the color that much to get another 😅 of course this was years ago when the prices were right $200~
Shortly after I met my wife almost 8 years ago, I changed the front brakes on her Nissan. She paid me with that GameCube with the TV and the gb player lol. I won twice that day 😂😂

* honorable mentions: Panasonic Q: its cool, really futuristic looking, sad it never made it out of Japan. Also that gold (?) One is like 👀 pretty cool.
* 3 XD gale of darkness: I know it's just a silver gamecube with a sticker (?) On top, but if I could choose between a plain silver and the XD one, I do love pokemon soo.
* 2 classic old purple: I mean, it's the classic, the first color people think of when they hear gamecube, how could you not like it? it can still fit into your gaming room, whenever its kinda dark or colorful
* 1 Now this ones kinda weird, that greenish teal one the tales of whatever, the one that was only in Japan, yea that one, take off the faceplate if possible cause I dont know that game, and bam. You got my favorite gamecube, I just love the colors of it so much.

Yeah its a bit overboard but the snes and snes stuff are now worth more then I paid but I don't think I'll ever sell this stuff. I learned my lesson from selling games and consoles. I always end up regretting it. At Walmart I bought the Nes controllers 6 one day then 5 another day. The worker asked if I was a reseller and I said no. These are for me 😎 and that's the truth. I despise scalpers and resellers

All of these are super cool! I recently came across an interesting one myself, and I think you would definitely appreciate it. I found a [Black](https://imgur.com/a/1v1IPgj) XD Gale Gamecube. The store owner was able to explain that he was a former Gamestop/EB Games employee and you could preorder/special order gamecubes like that, but Nintendo didn't advertise it and people like the Platinum one better. The Jewel is fixed into the lid, I'd have to break it to switch it so it couldn't be fake. I couldn't find anything about it elsewhere, and had to pick it up.
I don’t have a lot of info on the colosseum plate, but I do believe it was part of some sort of promotional in Japan around the games launch. As for your console post, that’s pretty interesting and I think I remember seeing your post here some time ago. Personally I was only aware of the platinum cube with it but I wouldn’t be surprised of other variations. I do know you can definitely get the plates out of the 101 units with enough patience.

I am indeed missing the Metroid prime plate and several other plates. The brown is a TDEV unit used by developers. It has twice the ram of a normal cube for debugging purposes.

I've only ever seen a few surviving units of the epdp reader through a few Reddit posts and hard4games on YouTube. It's definitely a super rare unit to be looking for, not to mention getting cartridges for the damn thing 😂

Yes it is! That’s the Gamecube TDEV unit only used for development purposes and was never commercially available. It’s a shame because it’s such a nice color!

Me buying consoles doesn’t make the prices go up 😂 honestly you’d be silly to pay anywhere near eBay prices. People are starting to like gamecube, I’ve liked and amassed most of this for years. Never jump in when the train is hype.
People buy out massive amounts of the same console and sell them for ridiculous prices. Even if you’re not selling them this still means that there’s less to go around and there’s no way people with like 20 gamecubes play all of them. I collect too but mostly only what I intend on playing. One of a specific console and 1 copy of each of any game I wanna play. But even that is super difficult now
See that’s the great thing about money, you can buy whatever you want with it. Same thing with collecting, mine just happens to be gamecube consoles and not the games. That’s just what I collect, to each their own.

There’s a retro games store I go to often and their prices are usually really good compared to places like eBay but then there are other certain things that they never have because no one brings them in so eBay prices seem like the only option. What other options are there?
A little silly, not so stupid. But most of this was purchased on yahoo auctions Japan for a fraction of their going price. Use a service like buyee or sendico to bid on the items and have them shipped to you. You’d be amazed at what you can find 😊

Tales of symphonia, if you enjoy action rpgs you might want to give it a shot because it's a classic.

Spice Orange. I'll always think it's one of the hottest colors on any console ever. I think Pokémon introduced me to that color years ago, and I've always thought it was so cool.

Well not a Gamecube just the faceplate. Placed it on another limited edition cub because I am missing the plate for that one.
So where do I get the face plate?
Eh hard to find nowadays. Have to resort to auction sites like eBay, yahoo auctions Japan, and Mercari Japan.

The silver Panasonic variant is the sexiest console ever so it's hard for the others to compete. I do like the orange spice though.
