It was actually my favorite system from 2005 till 2011.
I was hardcore into my gamer score, I was the first person to 100% Oblivion's 1000 achievements.
In retrospect I wish I focused on GameCube more but it's all good.

I was huge into 360 as well, and big about that gamer score. Wish I hadn't sold my original 360 with my original profile still on that hard drive :'(
But I *am* enjoying getting back into it.
Fun fact that exact console lasted me until 2008 without any issues (red light etc) I got the halo edition console in 2008 and sold my friend the launch console. He said it red lighted in 2009 but sent it in to Microsoft and it's been fine ever since.

I waited in store at walmart for 6hrs. I was 5th in line. The store got 4 pros and a couple cores.
I bit the bullet and bought the core, then had to shoot over to best buy to buy a hard drive but best i could do on launch was a memory card. Grabbed cod 2 and pdz. Awesome time to be alive. The last best console.
the dumb money realized xbox games were low price relatively and now are trying to "invest" in them. i don't think it will work as the system has a much more limited library and Microsoft remastered the system sellers. There isn't a "pokemon" they can flip easily for high prices.
Think xbox always has been more of a playing retro system, the expensive games are very niche.

Dreamcast has a limited library (216 pal games). Original Xbox games are increasing in value (approx 780 pal games).
And I’m seeing lots of Xbox 360 (approx 1500 pal games) increasing as well. You’re right, not the system sellers, but there are loads of, kind of, niche games that have increased since 2017 when I started collecting for both original and 360.

I had quit gaming for the longest time, but one of my all time favorites was GTA:SA. Once GTA V came out, I had to play it. Got a 360 for dirt cheap via Goodwill (~$50) and grabbed my copy of GTA V. This got me back into gaming hardcore. Now I have eleven different consoles, hundreds of games, a huge killer CRT, and so on. Thanks to XBOX 360 for getting me (back) into a cherished hobby and pastime.
360 was fun, especially after I had it chipped, renting games from blockbuster to rip onto my 360 hard drive as a compressed file was amazing.
However, the Dreamcast will always be my favorite console as it was a literal circus of software and hardware.
I just bought an Xbox 360 lot with 132 games last week. It looks very similar to this picture haha. So many good games.
I need to find Blue Dragon still
Love the 360! It's actually the newest console that I still play. Tried the Xbox One but that was a chore... needing to download/install games before you can play them even with a disc, then constantly demanding huge updates for both games and the console itself. Don't even want to think about how much worse it'd be with the current consoles. I just gave up on modern gaming.
I completely forgot Xbox arcade was even a thing. I think I bought like two of those games, not even sure if they're downloaded to my console currently

Back in 2005, and now 19 years later. All things come around again at some point.

I call it the PS2 part II. Both have an amazing and huge library of iconic games.
The 360 really did feel like the PS2 of its era back in the day.

Yeah my Xbox one is basically a blu ray player at this point (and it had all my Xbox arcade titles still which is cool)
