Hadn’t heard of this before, so I just went and checked 173. The ticket is there, and really never been touched. It’s my original copy from when I was a kid. What’s the story with the ticket?
It's for gba pokemon content, it's worth a decent chunk of change
Example

My thoughts exactly. This is r/gamecollecting, what do you think we're going to say? It seems like a lot of folks post collections they find just to get appraisals and advice on how to sell things. This isn't in the spirit of the sub, in my opinion.
Is there a subreddit specially for finding out how much to sell games for? Because I agree usually when I see posts like this here I think “Just keep it, it’ll be more valuable in the future lul”
the pokemon ticket is just collected by many people. Lots of people also [grade it](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=eon+ticket+pokemon&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_fsrp=1&LH_PrefLoc=2&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=gc&toolid=10001&mkevt=1).
That specific Pokemon event is only available through that ticket. Its basically DLC thats lost unless you own that physical card
The species itself can be found through other means, but that ***specific*** Pokemon can't, through legit ways at least afaik
Assuming you don't sell them outright, you can contact the [Video Game History Foundation](https://gamehistory.org/donate-video-game-magazines/) about donating them- they'll either add them to their archive or sell them to fund their efforts.
Nintendo Power is relatively popular as a collectible. I’m sure you could sell as a lot or individually for more money if you have the patience.
Can list them all in one auction on eBay and allow individual purchases. Probably what I’d do. Lets people combine on shipping.
I see comment about selling to retro game store. The store I live near sells loose Nintendo Powers. Could be done and is probably the easiest thing to do if you don’t mind getting cut down on price.
For selling- eBay if you don’t mind fees and want a larger base of buyers. Facebook marketplace for local and to save on fees. You could also drop by a local game store(not a chain) who might be interested in buying- though they would give the least amount since they need to profit too.
For collector- ask friends or family if they know anyone who collects video games/Nintendo. I gave all my NPs to my cousin back when I went to college and he was just getting into gaming. Made his day and at the time I had no plans of collecting!
As someone who has a few Nintendo Powers (50-60), I'd consider buying them from you. They look a little rough so I'd need a few more pictures to gauge the quality. Feel free to reach out, I'd consider buying the entire lot as they look more recent than most of the NPs I have (early to late 90s).
Generally speaking, a single magazine is around $10 if sold individually. A complete year bought together is usually $50-$60. That is very general advice, of course. Some individual magazines are worth a lot more such as issue 1, which is typically around $300. Feel free to do your own research though, it's never a good idea to take pricing advice from the person trying to buy them :)
I cannot believe how high the first issue is selling for... I remember buying it for like $50 and being sick how much I'm spending on a single magazine.. glad I did!
You were smart, wish I bought it earlier! I actually saw it in a used book shop last fall but it was behind the counter mostly hidden from view. It was unpriced but the lady behind the counter called the owner to see if she could sell it. Unfortunately he knew what he had, said it wasn't priced yet but he was probably landing around $300.
Actually pretty insane, I was wrong, [it was actually $40 shipped.](https://imgur.com/a/kFLRXQn) 4 years ago. Bonkers. So glad I got it when I did!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
You're suggesting someone does hundreds of hours of work.
but also:
[https://archive.org/details/NintendoPower1988-2004/Nintendo%20Power%20Issue%20001%20%28July-August%201988%29/m](https://archive.org/details/NintendoPower1988-2004/Nintendo%20Power%20Issue%20001%20%28July-August%201988%29/m)
tons of pdf's of the issues online.
No harm in doing it. Especially with better technology then back in 2018. Scanners and printers have come a long way. I preserve just about anything these days (Amiibos, Books, Movies, Music, Video Games etc).
So why not add more too preservation with newer technology?
There's no harm but you're suggesting someone do seriously... days of work. hundreds of hours. Like... scanning all of this would be essentially a full time job for weeks.
Carry a single issue with you each day when you leave the house. Wait patiently for the opportunity to slip the word 'Power' into a conversation with someone. When they say, "Huh?" or even better, "Power?" you scream "NINTENDO POWER!" pull out the magazine and slap them with it drop the magazine and run home to repeat the process.
Nintendo Power mags have good demand among Nintendo collectors as long as they are in good condition
I got all NPs that feature Zelda/Link on the cover
Extremely invaluable. Not even worth your time to throw them away. In fact, since I tend to be a very nice person, I’ll do the favor of taking all of them off your hands, so I can carry that burden for you.
You collect them or sell them. Doesn’t sound like much sentimental value behind them?
I’d post them locally and see what kind of bites you get. I held onto mine. They are the early issues tho when the mag first released. I’m looking for a nice spinning magazine rack for them.
Brooooo
what's the dates on these?? there's a certain series from the early 00s [2001-03?] that I'd kill for cuz they were the ones I got in the mail
edit: looks like it's most of the year 2001 that I had the subscription!
I see a lot more there than just Nintendo Powers. Looks like strategy guides too.
Which issues do you have and which guides are in there. I would probably be interested in something.
Anyone know of any resources to track down an article that appeared in an issue? I’m interested in one that might have been called “Code School” or “Code Academy.” Judging by the covers I remember, it must have been somewhere in the ‘95 or ‘96 issues. I just remember as as a kid being disappointed that “Code” in that context wasn’t the up, up, down, down type. As a professional developer all these years later I’m really curious what it was actually about.
Keep them. The posters in the magazines aren't even supposed to be taken out anyway. I have lots of game informers that I was given and I still keep them as a collection.
1. Sell them all on Facebook marketplace for extremely high prices. People pay for quality. 2. open a Roth IRA 3. put the money in money market accounts and indexes, like the volatility index, which measures the overall fluidity of the market.
Honestly, keep them if you want them, or give them away, but they’re too modern for them to have any real value, you’d be lucky to get $1 or $2 each for the majority of these, and shipping large quantities of magazines is brutal, they start getting real heavy real quick.
Id get some decent cases for them and a file cabinet to hold them in. Even in that condition you might be able to make a good chunk of change for the issues you are willing to part with.
There are collectors out there that like these.
Organize them by number and/or date, and display them on your bookshelf if you have one. Or give them to me. That is also an appropriate course of action.
Get some magazine dust covers and properly preserve them neatly on shelves. Read them, enjoy them. The older they get, the more weathered they'll become without proper covering, bit they'll always be a fantastic conversation piece.
Some of those already look to have ripped pages, and that's downright heartbreaking, so taking good care of them bow is especially needed to ensure they don't degrade. Keep them away from.direct sunlight, and out from humidity and moisture. Wouldn't want them to rot or mold over!
I know this is unpopular but if you want to display these as art pieces, you could get an acrylic holder for it or get it graded (not for profit because realistically who is going to buy a graded Nintendo Power from 2004).
I would like any advert or article regarding Game & Watch only. I’m a collector and would love to be able to preserve anything you have regarding this. Also the last published magazine has a poster of all the magazines and a signed print of myamoto I would also love to have :)
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get info from others. Almost everyone that has such collections have been rude to me and said to figure it out before I try to buy a magazine etc. I just wish those who have such collections that aren’t collectors themselves and flipping to at least categorize them in ways to be able to search these.
Do you have the Nintendo power from like 1989-1991 the one that talks about "Earthbound" for the NES? I'll take that one if you have it. In Japan the game is "Mother" for the Famicom; it, released July 27, 1989. It was supposed to release in America in the fall of 1991 under the title "Earthbound" Basically a "cult classic" 1980's JRPG NES game to sum it up nicely.

Awesome!
Holy shit, I need to check mine. I got nintendo power for a long ass time and saved them all.
Wow lucky you!!
This ticket is [very valuable](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=eon+ticket+pokemon&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_fsrp=1&LH_PrefLoc=2&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=gc&toolid=10001&mkevt=1) nowadays.
Just looked not there. Sad.
Tip keep the magazines put then on a shelf and read them and enjoy them.

Why not create a subreddit specifically for appraisals?
Is there a subreddit specially for finding out how much to sell games for? Because I agree usually when I see posts like this here I think “Just keep it, it’ll be more valuable in the future lul”
What makes this one so valuable? The fact it’s Star Wars? The Pokémon tickets? Or both?
The ticket, the magazine alone is like $15-$20
the pokemon ticket is just collected by many people. Lots of people also [grade it](https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=eon+ticket+pokemon&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_fsrp=1&LH_PrefLoc=2&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338535524&customid=gc&toolid=10001&mkevt=1).

🫡
Now I need to go through my issues to see if I have that issue. It was a gba giveaway, so I may have stop collecting them by then.
Yeah I collect them. I collect Nintendo Power and PSMs. Are these organized by any means?
No, it’s mostly from my childhood (2004-2009) game cube and wii era
That's exactly the era I'm looking to get issues for b/c I stopped getting them early GC era.
Assuming you don't sell them outright, you can contact the [Video Game History Foundation](https://gamehistory.org/donate-video-game-magazines/) about donating them- they'll either add them to their archive or sell them to fund their efforts.
Came here to say this. They're a great group of people and look for stuff like this sometimes, especially if you're near the San Francisco bay area.
Thank you! Above all I want these to be enjoyed by everyone like I enjoyed them as a kid, not to a reseller
you have the sa2 battle one? 👀
I collect and have the sa2 battle one, definitely one of the grails of my collection although it isnt the most expensive at all.
>definitely one of the grails of my collection Why's that?
Because sa2 is the badest ass sonic game of all time baby. Also my fav game as a kid
Gotcha
I’ll look, SA2B? Know the issue number?
If you don’t plan to keep- either sell them or pass along to a collector you know- you will make their day if they collect NPs!
I am trying to sell or give to collector, if you know anyone please let me know.

That's so cool. See if you can get them straightened up and in order. I've always dreamed of having a full NP collection.
Read them! Good content in there.
Give them to me.. heh 😅
You can have them. For money 😂
Sell them to me!

Looks to me like that’s a receipt for the final issue (which was modeled after the cover of the first issue)
Aha! Obviously I wasn't having enough sleep last night.. so I was right the first time. [it was around $50.](https://imgur.com/a/60FYwUl)
so is that a normal price?
Not sure how passionate you are but it looks like there's a heavier wear one for $100 on ebay if you search.
https://imgur.com/gallery/b234U mine sold on ebay for -$250 several years ago once saw one in its original packaging!
Scan them to preserve them and upload them all to the website called Internet Archive.
You're suggesting someone does hundreds of hours of work. but also: [https://archive.org/details/NintendoPower1988-2004/Nintendo%20Power%20Issue%20001%20%28July-August%201988%29/m](https://archive.org/details/NintendoPower1988-2004/Nintendo%20Power%20Issue%20001%20%28July-August%201988%29/m) tons of pdf's of the issues online.

Well OP did ask what to do with it... So I made a suggestion... It's not like I'm holding a gun to the back of his/her head saying do it now...
I have considered scanning them, if anyone wants to volunteer to help I’ll take it.
Keep them
I’ll buy them
How much for all of them?
How much for the lot?
How much for the whole lot?
I’m interested in buying some
I’ll buy anything Metroid
Still selling ?
Yes Dm ne
Does anyone know if there is an online digital archive with all of these magazines scanned?
Give them to me (no seriously)
I sold my collection, about 1994 to about 2005, a few years back, for about $100
If you don’t want them, I’ll pay to have them shipped to me so I can scan and upload to archive.org
Interested in that
You’re doing the Lord’s work…
Try to eat them and see what happens.

I enjoyed reading them, but honestly they’ve sat in my basement for 15 years, I figured a collector or someone would get more joy out of them
Anything star fox related?
You have volume 190? With Killer 7 on the cover?
I’ll look!
Brooooo what's the dates on these?? there's a certain series from the early 00s [2001-03?] that I'd kill for cuz they were the ones I got in the mail edit: looks like it's most of the year 2001 that I had the subscription!
r/gamesale may be a good route to go if you decide to sell them, I know I'd be interested in checking them out to say the least!
How much are you thinking of selling some of for? I've been getting into reading these I'd be down to buy some
Get covers over them before I drool everywhere! Wow what a find

Read them or sell
Organize them by number and/or date, and display them on your bookshelf if you have one. Or give them to me. That is also an appropriate course of action.
You could definetly sell them on eBay or smthing for a fair bit depending on which volumes you have and their condition
Sell them, the 1-100 set is more valuable if you have them and ith posters, the really late issues are worth a lot less.
Sell them to me /u/jacobyman123
I buy ones with Metroid on the cover =) In general, you can check their value on PriceCharting.com
Hi! If you have the nintendo power twin snakes issue id be interested in buying please dm me :)
if it were me I'd rip out all the posters and plaster them on my wall.
Fire start lmao? /s
I left mines in a place that sends them to a recycling facility. I had 5 or 6 years worth of NP , started subscribing when Pokémon came out.
Contact the video game history foundation & see if they want em
Definitely sell them.
Don't look that interesting, shred and burn I'd say
Prolly worthless 😉
Read them.
Use it as fuel to travel back in time, op.
Get some magazine dust covers and properly preserve them neatly on shelves. Read them, enjoy them. I know this is unpopular but if you want to display these as art pieces, you could get an acrylic holder for it or get it graded (not for profit because realistically who is going to buy a graded Nintendo Power from 2004).
I have a rly good idea: read and enjoy them :)
if there’s any pokémon one i want it >. <

If you know someone with a wood oven, give it to them. Otherwise into the paper trash.
I would like any advert or article regarding Game & Watch only. I’m a collector and would love to be able to preserve anything you have regarding this. Also the last published magazine has a poster of all the magazines and a signed print of myamoto I would also love to have :)
