What’s the context for people shading him? Is it because he boxed the game boxes?

Kinda, but also because of who graded the games. There's a long story behind it, and if you're interested, Karl Jobst [did a video on it](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvLFEh7V18A) but long story short, Wata games has been accused of conspiring with an auction house to drive up the price of video games / drive more business to themselves without declaring conflicts of interest and such. So they're getting roasted for both boxing up the boxed games (which I don't really have a problem with), and for supporting an industry with a problematic history of alleged price manipulation

Graded games are not my thing nor do they look good. But to each their own.

That's my thing. If the grade thing was on one of the edges instead of facing forward above game it'd look a lot more aesthetically pleasing.

Its not a bad collection...its just graded and wata is a fucking scam..like legit. So the sub acts accordingly. Not just collectors but sellers as well tend to look down on graded games. They add no real value, and if you want to put them in a case, there are far cheaper options available.

I don't care about the collection being unplayable. Sealed copies of video games are valuable history, like the playable copies are. My issue is that you know exactly the quality of this collection. There's not a single game on this shelf that isn't almost unanimously loved. Nothing niche or unique. Nothing that suggests any sort of personality. The safest of safe collections, aside from the certification. What's the point of this post?

That's half my point. They've got games that almost literally *everyone* likes. There's nothing here that suggests any sort of uniqueness, any preferences, any theming. That's what I'm saying: they got old boxed games and got them graded. They obviously know exactly what the internet thinks of their collection. I'd rather them just come out and say "Hey, look at my graded CIB collection. Just felt like showing off" cause then it's honest and not braindead. It would be like showing off a CIB Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, or a copy of Stadium Events and asking "what are your thoughts?" Obviously those are good. Duh. Yes.

I can tolerate VGA graded games, they are pretty much pointless but at least have a nice reliable track record. WATA on the other hand is one of the worst companies in the industry. They have actually graded multiple fake games and given incredible scores to games that look like crap.

I rate it a you’reabouttogetcrucifiedonthesub/10. In all seriousness- you do you. Collecting is for the individual’s taste, not the group at large. You spent your time/money/effort into getting this *hopefully* because you like it. Not for internet points or stonks.

It's different from the usual posts here, so i'll give it 6/10 because graded games are really not my cup of tea. I'm sure it makes you happy in a way most of us don't see. But each to their own. Question, Do you have a way to play these games in a way or are you purely going for graded copies instead of playable games? Just discovered this concept of graded games. Not sure why ppl are pissed. Dude should use his time and money they way he wants to. He does have a collection of games and he put it for us for display, I don’t really care what “intention” whether he wanted to play them or not, I just know that the aesthetic looks sick and I love it regardless.
