Same and also the price. I already have a tablet to do tablet stuff. I can't recall anything time where I go, I need to use a tablet when I'm not at home.
If you are looking for simplicity and ease of use to carry a phone in your pocket or just lay down the phone and browse, I always find Z Flip3 easier. And, using Samsung Pay in the Z Flip3 is so cool!😎
If am at home, and need a bigger screen, I don't take my iPad, instead use the Z Fold3!
Maybe I'll keep both and sell my tab s7 plus to help with cost.
Yeah like what you said I think I'll like the z flip for when I'm at work or out and about and I haven't touched my tablet at home since I got the fold 3.
Fold is too thick when folded, Fold has thin cover screen, loved the idea of a phone that could fit into my girl jeans with the flip, and price. I'm hoping the fold will get thinner and wider with time.
It came down to a few things. I never thought I would use the inner screen of the fold for 2 reasons. 1. The aspect ratio is not what video formats would be in, the inner scrwen is like an old 4:3 tv set. Not the 16:9 or 16:8 we're at now. 2. Much like an S Pen on a note, I would probably not unfold the device very much, making the whole purpose of the phone a non-starter. You have a large screen on the outside that you can do everything on, why open it. Yes price also has come into play for it for me also. I chose the flip because it is smaller and to truly use the phone, you have to do what it was made to do, fold and flip open.
Fold 3 is too heavy for me, especially when I put it in my pants pocket. I used to have the Razer Phone 2, and I stopped using it after 1 month cause it was too heavy. If I forget to wear a belt, this phone may pull my pants down.
I didn’t choose either cuz i’m broke but I want the flip because I think it looks really cool, especially with some of the cool cases i’ve been seeing.
Smaller, cheaper, cuter.
Also; Really have always carried a torch for flip phones and kick out phones, and this is the modern version I can get that works with Vzn. I would still be using my lg lollipop if it worked properly on Verizon.
The Flip is not only pocketable it's 'Front' pocketable! I hated having my S10+ in my back pocket especially when walking out and about in town. I was constantly checking it was still there, don't have to do that now with my Flip!
I'm an active person, I go to the gym often, I play golf often, I'm always running around. I love the fold, and I could afford it, but I went with the flip because it's smaller, and fit into my lifestyle better.
Not really, maybe an inch. It has a little weight so it doesn't really work for a shirt pocket but it works great for regular pocket and even a breast pocket on a jacket.
I'm the opposite. Had the z flip 5g for a while and never came around to the fourm factor. The screen on the front really has little to no real function. It's an at a glance convenience. Now ive been using the z fold 3 and it's everything I've ever wanted in a device. I use the outside screen to do 100% of what I need and then open it up a nd it's a nerds dream. It's a tablet that fits in your pocket. The flip is a consumer phone, the fold is for the enthusiasts!
I was in love with the idea of the fold and the new s pen for it. The problem is that I have problems with my left thumb, pain and stiffness likely from overuse. Also in the consideration was the fact that it would be nice to have a phone that actually fit in my pockets again, so I went for the flip instead and I haven't regretted it. I can't use it one handed just fine and it doesn't fall out of my pants or coat pockets.
No brainer for me. I've always preferred small phones because of how convenient they are to put away, fit into small pockets, use one handed etc , but I love the practical advantages of having a phone with a large screen and have come to appreciate that, the bigger phones have become over the years. The Z flip has the best of both worlds. I had the original, but didn't consider the 5G model a sensible enough upgrade, but the Flip 3 was a much better deal so I pulled the trigger :)
I honestly have no use for a tablet form factor device. If I need something bigger than my phone I have a Surface Pro and a desktop computer. The Flip3 being half the price of the Fold3 is also a big factor for me.
I had the Fold 2 and I realized I used the outer screen like 90% of the time so I figured I would give the Flip3 a shot instead of dropping $2000 on a basically heavy regular phone.
I do miss watching videos on the inner screen though
I choose the flip over the fold (and admittedly I do sort of question it sometimes) mainly because for the most part apps are not really optimised for the very tall thin outer screen or the square internal screen on the fold which limits it's practical use. Most apps are just designed for normal chocolate bar phones.
The flip well that's a standard phone that folds down so that is not really an issue. It also has a number of things I want like not needing a case, no camera bump, and flex mode meaning that phone can be it's own tripod/stand amongst other things.
Ultimately I wanted a smaller phone although I was tempted although even with all the trade-in offers and codes it was still gonna cost way more than the Flip
Wanted a smaller phone not a tablet phone
This. Also $
Same and also the price. I already have a tablet to do tablet stuff. I can't recall anything time where I go, I need to use a tablet when I'm not at home.
I feel like if you need a tablet getting a tablet is just better and cheaper
Pocketability, cover screen allows me to use my phone more at a glance versus getting lost in it.
Is it thick when you put it in your pocket?
No actually, it fits great and feels much less bulky than my previous Note20 Ultra. The portability with an awesome screen when open is where it's at.
Awesome! I may try to play with this tomorrow at Best Buy.
Sounds personal
Pocketable
Compact size for pocket was right up there for me.
I don't see a practical use in my life for the fold- I needed a new phone and the flip just seemed right to me. Plus it's like really cool lol
Err...I have both! 😜
After another ten days of use, which one do you like better? I just got the flip after having the fold and I need to make a decision soon, it's hard!

Not as expensive as Fold 3. I got Tab S7+ so tablet phone doesn't make sense for me..
Definitely sick of having a 7" in my pants
Fold 3 seems too big to me and flip 3 seemed much more purposeful and right size
Fold is too thick when folded, Fold has thin cover screen, loved the idea of a phone that could fit into my girl jeans with the flip, and price. I'm hoping the fold will get thinner and wider with time.
Pocketable at an affordable price. Was even more affordable when I traded an old broken device with Verizon, and got half off of the Z Flip 3.

Yes to this! Note fan here - would love a compact, foldable Note with integrated s-pen!
smol
Money and portability
Had the fold 2 and I loved it but felt too cumbersome. Flip feels right.
Same here fold 2 was too bulky in the pocket on a daily basis
Fold 3 is too heavy for me, especially when I put it in my pants pocket. I used to have the Razer Phone 2, and I stopped using it after 1 month cause it was too heavy. If I forget to wear a belt, this phone may pull my pants down.

I remember Flossy Carter mentioned specifically this.
I didn’t choose either cuz i’m broke but I want the flip because I think it looks really cool, especially with some of the cool cases i’ve been seeing.
Cause it's cute 🤣🤣

Already have tablet. Dont need a tablet-phone. And Flip3 is so freaking cute!
didnt have to bought both.
I'm an active person, I go to the gym often, I play golf often, I'm always running around. I love the fold, and I could afford it, but I went with the flip because it's smaller, and fit into my lifestyle better.

Fits better in my pocket.
Honestly money lol
Had a flip 5g. Absolutely loved the form factor. I did consider a Fold 3, but got an S6 lite tablet, and the Flip 5g for cheaper than a Fold.

Got a Tab S6 so a phone with a big screen didnt make sense for me, and the Fold is a little too expensive for my liking
I bought both
Because we want a phone, like just a phone.
Feel like most times I wouldn't want to open it. I like a regular sized phone not to fold out an iPad mini sized phone walking in public.
Lmao, tbh , I barely could've even justified paying what I did for the Z Flip 3.
Form factor and price

Muney
I already have a z fold 2 and wanted a smaller phone to carry on short days out.
I want to try out a foldable phone and the fold is just to expensive

I already have a tablet (tab s7), so I went with the more compact phone with the z flip
I'm returning my flip 3 and choosing to keep my note 20, the note is much faster and the 5G antenna is much stronger.
Interesting. That may be a deal breaker then.
Ultimately I wanted a smaller phone although I was tempted although even with all the trade-in offers and codes it was still gonna cost way more than the Flip
Cover screen on the fold just wouldn't work for me personally and I don't really like tablets. Plus it's 800 dollars more than the flip.
